[00:00:03] Speaker A: What's up, everybody? Welcome back to Sources from the Sofa. This is Rome. We got Jason and Aaron rocking a jersey. Packers jersey. I haven't seen him wearing a Packers jersey in maybe a decade, so it must be a special occasion. I don't know if he's here to rub it into Jason's face. Jason, rough week for Chicago. We'll get all into it for all the sports, but NFL to kind of kick things off. Josh Allen and the Bills take care of business on the road in Los Angeles. Exciting Monday night game. It was phenomenal. Overtime and everything. Josh Allen's first overtime win, ironically, in his career. I didn't even know that was a thing.047. Now he's one for seven, so got that monkey off his back. Phenomenal kick at the end. Good stuff, dude. It was a great game. It was a great game. I. I'm rocking the shades. Have a little cigar in honor of Mike Dicka. And just having a great week in football this weekend. [00:01:00] Speaker B: It's. [00:01:00] Speaker A: It's been nice. Not gonna think about baseball right now. We'll talk about that later on as well. Maybe. [00:01:06] Speaker B: Wait, he doesn't want to talk baseball now, huh, Jason? See how quick the narrative as pages turn quickly? [00:01:14] Speaker C: I mean, I don't want to talk baseball. I don't want to talk football. I don't want to talk F1. I don't want to talk hockey. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm here right now. [00:01:21] Speaker B: Wow. [00:01:21] Speaker C: I guess contract or whatever the heck Rome's got on me right now, that got to be here. But. [00:01:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I hate sports. [00:01:27] Speaker C: You know, I don't even know. You got. [00:01:29] Speaker B: You got Notre Dame. Yeah. [00:01:31] Speaker C: I literally am wearing Notre Dame because the only positive thing to talk about. [00:01:33] Speaker B: Yeah, that might not be the case next weekend. We'll find out. That's a big game, dude. [00:01:41] Speaker A: 180 now. New face here. [00:01:44] Speaker B: Hey, man. Throw some salt on the wound. [00:01:48] Speaker A: Just leaving Jason in the dust. Quaker. What happened to all that White Sox loyalty Gone. [00:01:54] Speaker C: Yeah, loyalty's gone. [00:01:56] Speaker B: You can't lose three straight, not against the Indians or Guardians. [00:01:59] Speaker A: Dude. [00:02:00] Speaker C: Lose three straight and 21 strikeouts, you know? [00:02:02] Speaker A: It was 21. Yeah, I thought it was 22 or something. That was. That was. [00:02:05] Speaker B: Was it no hitter. [00:02:08] Speaker A: Yeah, that was pretty rough. [00:02:09] Speaker C: Something like that. I don't know. [00:02:11] Speaker A: Like. Something like that. All right, we'll talk about Jason's Wide Sox. I've been running to a lot of Chicago fans out here, so not a lot of happy people. Not a lot of happy people to say at least they did not know that they're going to get smacked like that by the packers either. We'll get into that later on as well, but Rams Bills lived it up. [00:02:30] Speaker B: I gotta ask, is Jay, is Jason pulling an Andrew and drinking like an IPA out of like a coffee mug, their cup or what's going on? Remember, like you. What's going on there? What do you got there, Jason? What are you drinking? [00:02:41] Speaker C: That's just a little tea. Little tea. You know, we're at late night podcast recording. I was out all week, you know, cheering my white socks on. I lost a little bit of the voice and just trying to, you know, therapeutically get everything back here for the pot, even though I don't know why I'm here. [00:02:54] Speaker B: All right, there we go. [00:02:57] Speaker A: Fair enough. Thoughts on Bill's Rams before we kind of recap some of the bigger wins of the week, bigger losses, and how things are starting to shape up. [00:03:07] Speaker C: Exciting game. I mean, the Rams tend to have some of these, you know, Monday Nighters. I mean, you think back, was it Eagles, Rams? Like, I don't know, it feels like forever ago at this point. It was like the Carson's Wentz game when he got hurt and it was like, you know, 50 to 50 or something like that at a certain point in the game and he's in this game, just, you felt like the shootout going into overtime, everything on the broadcast was like, ah, you don't want to score too quickly, like, and then what? Stafford took all of four passes to get down to the field and get the touchdown. Just crazy. I mean, it's one of those things where, like, you don't understand the entire game, like, why they can't get offensive moving. And when it comes down to it, they can just march their way down field with four 20 yard passes and right in the end zone. [00:03:51] Speaker A: I don't get it. I don't get it. [00:03:52] Speaker C: So. But I mean, huge win for the Bills, you know, when you, when you're looking at it, you know, you know, they were, they were coming off of the questionable. They had a great start, but then it was like, ah, they're not playing anyone good. Then they lose at home to the Patriots and now, you know, flying across the country beating a team that, you know, was the, you know, Vegas favorite to win the super bowl. And they're still kind of like struggling to find where things are at for them. But I think it's a, it's a massive win for the Bills and, you know, as I've championed them being the, you know, AFC representative In the super bowl this year. I think this is the type of game you got to go win against a really great team on the road at. [00:04:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's a nice win. I mean, the Rams gave that game away. I mean 137 at the half. I mean this, you guys mentioned, it makes my betters get frustrated. Right. You got a 137 game, the unders looking good. If you got the under 55 and then all of a sudden you get what, six straight drives that end in touchdowns. [00:04:47] Speaker A: Rams scored 20 in 35 points in [00:04:50] Speaker B: the fourth quarter between the two teams. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I just don't know what the Rams are doing. I mean, luckily for the Rams, when we were talking off the air, they don't have a scrambling quarterback or a real mobile quarterback in the nfc. I mean, maybe Kyler Murray, but if you trust him in the playoffs in Minnesota, gets that far. But Chris Shula, I mean, there's a reason why the Pittsburgh Steelers passed up on this guy. Said he did a terrible job during interviews. He's done a terrible job as the defensive coordinator. Wow. And you know, if we're talking about anybody that should be. We're always talking about coaches on the hot seat. His job should be on the hot seat because I don't think the Rams really, they might be able to get out of the nfc. But quarterback, defensive wise, I, I'm not, I'm not happy what I see with the Rams. I'd be very, very worried because against mobile quarterbacks, we've seen that Josh Allen, Bo Nicks, they have not looked good. This defense has gotten torched. Maybe Miles Garrett will be able to kind of clean up some of that when he comes back. But like I said, look, if Caleb Williams ever gets back from his grade two, grade one, whatever, season ending hamstring injury, that could be a problem for the Rams given what his mobility is. [00:05:56] Speaker C: It's back next week, Aaron. [00:05:58] Speaker B: I, I hope so. Josh Allen against the Falcons. I mean, you got to get at least one quarterback that is week to [00:06:05] Speaker A: week or whatever back, dude, Falcons, same thing. Having some issues there. We'll talk about that. Penx injury. Josh Allendeau, nothing too crazy in the air, 210 touchdown interception, but 120 yards rushing with another touchdown. Just doing it with his arm and his legs. Stafford statistically had a great game. Almost 400 yards, three touchdowns, but throwing for almost 55, 60 times. That is crazy. I think Nakua was targeted 25, 26 times as well. He had 17 receptions, 140 yards and a touchdown. D.J. moore, I think. I think the Bills kind of missed him a little bit. I had to bench him on my fantasy. I couldn't trust him coming back, but I thought it was pretty exciting. Fourth quarter electric. And I think at the end, though, the Bills needed to win this one more than the Rams, just because the Pats, they finally seem to have found something and they turned it on this weekend. [00:07:03] Speaker C: I don't know if the rant they pass really found something. I think they're playing a inferior team that was traveling across country and like, they do what they usually do. [00:07:11] Speaker B: They, like, turn their back on the Raiders that quick, huh? [00:07:13] Speaker C: I don't think it was turning them back. [00:07:15] Speaker B: I think we all, me and Jason haven't been as high on them, but, man, I had so many Raider fans. Oh, my God, we're back to the Gruden era. We're so good. I said, hold your horses. You're gonna get your ass beat in New England now. They're quiet. They won't even take my call. [00:07:27] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, I, I don't. I mean, I want to get into it. Well, I guess we'll get to the Patriots game a little bit, but I like, you know, this is another, like, they're playing out a great team and then Drake may runs up his stats versus him in the second half and everything like that, like they were doing last year versus, you know, inferior teams. But I think I want to go back to the Rams, Bills, and I think this is a bigger theme throughout this week, is some strategy and time management towards the end of the game and in overtime. And we were talking in text before we got on the air too. Like, to me, Sean McVay, out of anyone losing this game for the Rams, it was him or the strategy getting down there and allow them to kick a 48 yard field goal when you were literally just carving up this defense in the passing game through the entire, like, basically last, you know, what, 20 minutes of gameplay and everything like that in the fourth quarter and in overtime, you're just marching up and down the field and then you get into what is supposed, you know, should be a makeable field goal range. You just stop and do some conservative runs like I48. You know, it's easy makeable field goal in modern NFL, but it's still not a chip shot. And I, I don't understand, you know. Oh, we just get to this point right now where I'm taking this and I, I felt that was a massive mistake by the Rams at this game. Should have. They should have kept marching on, gotten closer and have an easier chip shot that could have been, you know, not something that needed to be as low as the ground. And you get a defensive lineman that's able to jump up and block it so easily. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, piggyback off that. Just go get a touchdown. Look at the Rams special teams history over the last few years under McMay has been terrible. This kicker's had multiple kicks blocked. Go back to Philadelphia last year. Yeah, he misses extra points. It's just stupid. I mean, why? I mean, they've carved these guys up and down the field all game. What'd you say, Stafford? What do you have passing in this game? Rome 383, 40 of 54. I mean, Buffalo basically played conservative defense because they didn't want to give up the big plays because they've been giving up big plays all year. So they just gave five, six, seven yard passes. Just keep taking them. There's no reason to kick a field goal here. Just go down, get the touchdown, get the COVID for all the Ram fans there, make everybody happy in LA and get the game over. So it's a big concern. It's a big problem with the Rams. Can't trust their special teams. It's an issue. We stole at the start of the game. They gave up that big return. I mean, if Josh Allen had what, 60 yards passing, what, midway through the third quarter and you're losing 19 to 14. Unexcusable, man. Unexcusable. [00:10:01] Speaker A: Big win by the Bills. Rams up and down to start the season so far. I still think they'll be in the playoffs and they'll be a team to be reckoned with. But there's some growing pains for some reason and it looks like they're kind of running Stafford a little too much to my liking. So we'll keep an eye on that. Biggest wins of the week or should we start with biggest ass whoopings of the week? We have quite several this week. I'm gonna nominate a couple if that's okay with you guys. [00:10:32] Speaker B: First, there's no need to nominate, bro. It's one game. [00:10:36] Speaker A: It's just one game. [00:10:37] Speaker B: There's one game. One ass week. [00:10:39] Speaker A: I guess I won't talk about the Texans tie ins. I guess that doesn't matter. [00:10:42] Speaker B: I guess I won't talk about the [00:10:44] Speaker A: Patriots Raiders team because that doesn't matter. [00:10:46] Speaker B: Another JV team. We're talking JV team. [00:10:48] Speaker A: Please tell me who's the ass of the week. [00:10:50] Speaker B: We're playing. We're playing varsity football. We're Playing JV football. There's varsity football. There is one ass whipping this week. One ass whipping this week. Rome ass whipping the Bears. Dude, that is the ass whipping of the week. Hands down, Hands down, the ass whipping of the week, Jason. [00:11:06] Speaker C: I mean, Aaron's not wrong. I mean, what you say, like, he's absolutely right. It was, it was torture from beginning to end. Literally. I, Jordan Love was just. I'm just gonna heave this ball as deep as possible. And the Bears defensive backs had no chance. They're just wandering around back there. I mean, Jalen Johnson was running around like a linebacker out there. Like, it just, you know, he was five yards off every single ball that was going through. It was just bad all around. Tyson Bagen, I can't even remember if we talked about his last start, but there is an undercurrent of Bears Twitter that has swore up and down that this guy should have been the starting quarterback, you know, since the rookie year in the Justin Fields era. And when they drafted Calum, there's a certain element of Bears Twitter, you know, because Caleb paints his nails and he's all, he's a, you know, Prima Dot and all this stuff and this in Tyson Beijing, he's a working man. He was in Division 2 and he won whatever, the Heisman. Division 2 in West Virginia is undrafted and all this stuff. And he's going to be better than Caleb and all this stuff. And what you saw in this was that he's not. He's not a starter in the league. And everyone thought he's going to be a starter. And I still think the Bears are trotting him out here over Case Keenan because they were trying to get, you know, tape on him to potential trade packages for a team that does think he's a starter. But this was very obvious. He is not. And I saw that versus the Jets, I think I'm pretty sure I said on the podcast last week his, his accuracy was off. And if you watch that at any of his throws, and there's a lot of criticism of Caleb's accuracy because his completion percentage, because no one would shut up off off season about it. But if you watch Bajan actually throw, everything was behind or too far ahead of his receivers. He was a guy that walked in like, he's like, oh, I'm a starter and I'm going to do this and I'm going to try to make the big thr. The big plays. He doesn't have the arm. It just isn't there. The accuracy is not there. And it Was proven in this game and a little bit kind of the jets but the running game was there to kind of hide that. And when they couldn't get the running game going versus the packers, you know he was absolutely lost. I think the Bears totally missed Kyle. Man. In this game, you know, Swift only had nine carries. They're trying to rush Roshan Johnson. Roshan just does not have breakaway speed or anything. I'm not even sure if he's a legit kind of pro running back to a degree. He's a better special teams player than he has been running back in this league. But Aaron's right. Hands down ass beating. I mean I love Ben Johnson. Ride or die with him. But when you're going to talk as much as you do about the packers and this rivalry and everything and you get your comeuppance when you know La Flor has been quiet and kept everything mo but he was trying to run it up there in the fourth and I respect that. [00:13:41] Speaker B: Rome I you know talk about it. You've got to respect your opponent 247 on the gridiron. You come out here, you can talk all your you want. If you don't respect your opponent and come out ready to play and your opponent, you know the packers had some bad luck last year against the Bears. I mean they could have won. They could have won all three games. They ended up losing two. Plus that playoff game. Matt LaFleur, look, he had people calling him soft. Ben Johnson rubbing it in. Like Jason said, a lot of, a lot of material going in in this game for Green Bay and Green Bay had not looked good. I mean coming in two and two they could have easily been one and three. Let's be honest. They escaped against Tampa, did not look good against Atlanta but this was a perfect spot. Green Bay, Jordan Love. Like you said, he throwing the moon ball. But Watson was coming down with it all the big and the big plays. Kraft looked a lot better defensively. They were licking their chops in this game. A big win for Green Bay. They needed it. You know a lot of you know people on Twitter asking hey who's the hottest coaches in the league with that ass whipping of the week, Matt Lafleur has moved to number one again. [00:14:45] Speaker A: That's for sure. [00:14:46] Speaker B: For those out there curious, [00:14:50] Speaker A: the 180 from Aaron. Man, I'm impressed dude. This guy's been talking Sean his Green Bay packers for about a year now. And hey, rocking the jersey. [00:14:59] Speaker B: Hey and and they got, they got your boy Brian Shimer and the Cowboys. They're Going to send him to the hot seat and getting his ass fired. He's next in line, Rome. [00:15:07] Speaker A: I mean, it's not looking good. It's not looking good. [00:15:09] Speaker B: He's gone Green. Green Bay is going to go up in there and kick their ass too. [00:15:12] Speaker C: I would say Green Bay. Green Bay needed this game and I think it was, it was everything they needed up and down from the offense and the defense. I think Jordan Love needed to. To be able to prove this. And I think they hit the Bears where I think going into the season anyone knew the Bears secondary, not great, especially their corners on the outside. [00:15:29] Speaker A: That was personal. [00:15:31] Speaker C: Yep. And the defensive, the front four, not, you know, not couldn't. Doesn't really have a ability to get after the quarterback as much, you know. So I, I think that's been the liability and you've seen in this game. And then it's, you know, we don't talk about it now. It's over a month ago. But you know, the Panthers put up 37 points up against this Bears defense in week one too. The Bears needed to score almost 60 to keep in. [00:15:51] Speaker A: That's true. In front of it. [00:15:53] Speaker C: And so you had, you know, the, you know, the monsoon, you know, hurricane weather versus the Vikings. So that, you know, that doesn't really count for the defense. You played, you know, a crap jets team. You played an Eagles team that's constantly on offense. And so I mean, the jets really couldn't stretch the field. Yeah. [00:16:10] Speaker B: All right. I mean, I mean they want to stretch. Can't even catch a snap punt. Let's be honest. That's why they won that game. [00:16:17] Speaker C: So the Bears really played three subpar offenses. So the times where they've played really, you know, above average quarterbacks or, you know, better quarterbacks in the league with Bryce Young and Jordan Love, they've put it on them. And I think that's what you'll expect a lot of these games. And so the Bears need Caleb back because they are going to be in shootouts. Now the other thing in this game, Bears turn the ball over four times in this game. Last year Caleb only turned the ball over eight times the entire season. And so I think you have a different type of game with that type of turnovers that both case kingdom and more over. Tyson Bagent was getting in that game that gave the Bears or the packers offense a lot more opportunity. So I think it's a throw the game away. Good for the Packers. Bears are there. They need to reset. They play a like reeling Falcons team that I don't even know who's playing quarterback for them next week. So, you know, wouldn't be surprised next week where it's like, you know, the Bears defense all of a sudden looks kind of good again because you're playing like TUA or Cooper Rush or whoever the heck they're going to try to quarterback if Pennock can't go. [00:17:15] Speaker B: If you're, if you're in Atlanta, do you trade for a quarterback now? [00:17:17] Speaker A: I think so. [00:17:18] Speaker B: I mean, look, we all know two is done. We all know the Cooper Rush experience, both of those are failures. [00:17:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:23] Speaker B: With Pinnock out there, we know they're, they're decent, they're good, they're, they're solid. They're, they're tough out. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Yeah, they look decent. [00:17:30] Speaker B: I mean, I, I think they got to look in the market for quarterback. [00:17:33] Speaker A: Yeah, packers, they've definitely targeted the secondary there. Watson Golden Bulls, what, 120, 140. They both had like big catches of 50 yards at least. Kraft had a big grab like 40 something yards. It was nice, dude. Love brought the love into the air and smothered the Bears with it. So. Pretty impressive. [00:17:53] Speaker B: Yeah, Rome, I mean, I touched, I touched on it earlier. I mean, look, the packers haven't had a lot good going for them, but Matthew Golden, I said back week one, week two, we, we clipped it. [00:18:02] Speaker A: They, they found the receivers for sure. [00:18:04] Speaker B: I like, I like what they, they have from him. I mean, can Watson stay healthy? That's always been the concern. He's got a lot of soft tissue, knee injuries. He suffered an acl, what, two years ago. Hamstrings have always been a problem. Crafts looks like he's coming along now after he tore his ACO back in week nine last year. You know, look, we know the offensive line, they, they got no running game. I mean, so come December when it gets cold and stuff, I mean, the flashy passing looks great right now. I mean, it's going to come back to bite Green Bay. [00:18:33] Speaker A: I still need a running back. [00:18:34] Speaker B: I, I still like the Bears much more long term over the season than I do the Packers. That's why I picked the packers to finish last. You did stand by that. But hey, week five, packers on top. You got, you got to enjoy it while you can if you're a Packer fan. [00:18:46] Speaker A: That's why this guy doesn't have his jersey, man. Haven't seen him in a long time. [00:18:52] Speaker B: Look, Rome, this was donated by the sofa sources from the sofa Army a lot. I got a lot of pack fans that have been like, hey, dude, you know that guy Jason, you know, these guys, Chicago, everything. They just, they sent me the jersey, said they wanted me to wear it on the pod. Dude, here it is. [00:19:08] Speaker A: I'm sorry, man. This guy came ready. [00:19:11] Speaker B: This. [00:19:11] Speaker A: Hilarious. All right, let me go back on the rest of week five real quick. I'm just pulling up right here. [00:19:20] Speaker B: Let's just talk. I mean, Jason kind of brought it up on the text and we talk. Let's. Let's talk Giants commanders. Oh, get that fiasco out. [00:19:26] Speaker A: I mean, this week, especially in college and in NFL, so many questionable calls from coaching from quarterbacks. Especially that game, the Eagles, Jags game, it was. It was ugly. [00:19:42] Speaker B: You got three games this week. Rome, Giants, Commanders, Eagles, Jaguars, even Seattle. That into that first half against the Niners. Once we talk about that, I mean, that probably cost him the game too, but. And like Jason pointed out McVeigh here tonight. I mean, the, the curse of week five coaching continues here. [00:20:04] Speaker C: Yeah, I, you got to start with Commanders Giants. I don't think there's anything. Got more media play. I immediately wanted to hop on the pod, like right then and there because to me, that was a fireable offense. And this is from, you know, Dan Quinn. Sure, he's a nice guy, but this is, this is the, the life they choose as NFL head coach. He is the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons that has the most infamous blown super bowl of all time. And now you are at the. You. You basically have a win gift wrapped for you. And because of such poor management of clock, I mean, you could blame Jaylen Jaden Daniels, which I think he has a lot to blame in this too, a little bit. But. But man, if you're the head coach of this going on, like, how are you not running on the field screaming at whatever, taking control of what's going on at that moment? Like, it seemed like the clock was going in slow motion. The broadcasters had no idea. Like, like, what are they doing? Oh, he sure. Surely he's going to like, spike it right now. It's like, ah, he's going to throw it out of bounds, right? Like, like just an utter disbelief and not knowing what's. What's going on. And I think like, we get so, okay, we can't turn the ball over because, well, Scatter just fumbled the ball away, so you can't really touch it, but we got to run a play and like, like, like what are we doing? And so like you, all these NFL coaches, they. They live in their office, right? We're. We're just nothing. But you know, 96 straight hours of just digesting film and everything, preparing for these games, but the clock management, the game management, the stuff that you're paid in the leadership forums to do, just so many fails across the board, and this was the biggest blunder of them all. And it was. It's inexcusable. And. And I. And I think Dan Quinn got that first year off the ground playing a soft schedule with Jaden, and everything's excited they make it to the NFC championship game. Got marred by injuries last year, but I think there was a lot of questions around the coaching. I think there's, you know, questions going into this season where this team's performing now. But interesting. I mean, this is. This is near a fireable offense. I mean, this has got to be hot seat material on your. On your rankings room. [00:22:01] Speaker A: I mean, I'm trying to take this with a grain of salt because I know you're down on the. On this team anyways, competing with the Caleb Spotlight here whether or not you're [00:22:09] Speaker B: down or not, Roman, it is unexcusable. [00:22:12] Speaker A: Yeah, it was pretty bad. [00:22:12] Speaker B: It was pretty bad. [00:22:13] Speaker A: I was. [00:22:13] Speaker B: I was watching it and I seen the clock ticking down from like 15, 14. And then I seen Janiel, Dan, Jane and Daniels take the snap, and it looked like he was going to throw, like, a quick out to the sideline and like, it looked like the Giants, like, jumped it. And then he, like, panicked and was like, oh, shit, like, I got to go down. And then everybody else is kind of downfield. I mean, if you're the Giants, it's really bad because you could have won that game. You go to 2 and 3. I mean, the Eagles had already lost [00:22:38] Speaker A: their 2 and 3. [00:22:39] Speaker B: The Cowboys had already lost their 2 and 3. This division is really wide open right now. And you give. He blew an opportunity. And look, Jaden Daniels, you know, he looked good. He played well. They've got a lot of injuries so far this year. The commanders, their defense does not look great. Dan Quinn's supposed to be a defensive guy, coach. And for three years, this defense has been atrocious. Ah, yeah. I mean, look, I. I think there's probably five or six jobs that are going to probably be for sure, maybe open in the NFL, but this is looking like one that could possibly be. I mean, look it, Rome. When Magic Johnson, of all people, chimes in on this and post on X, like, what are we doing? [00:23:16] Speaker A: I can't. [00:23:17] Speaker B: It's almost like. It's almost like a death sentence. [00:23:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:19] Speaker B: It's almost like a curse. You're, you're deaf. You're marked for fire. [00:23:23] Speaker A: Giants could have been 4 and 1 and. And had a nice cushion here in the noce, so missed opportunity. Washington desperately needed this. That over, under. What was it, eight and a half, I believe. [00:23:36] Speaker B: Rome. [00:23:36] Speaker A: It's looking pretty, pretty tough now. One three and one especially. [00:23:41] Speaker B: They go to the Niners. I heard you're gonna be at that game Monday night, Rome. That's what I'm hearing. [00:23:45] Speaker A: I would love to go. My friends Will and Bonnie invited me to go tailgate. Me and my daughter missed out the tailgate because we were stuck waiting for the train last time. But I'll be in traffic coming back from la probably. But Jane Daniels, some concerns health wise. I don't think he'll probably finish the season. I think they're gonna probably be. If he gets one little ding, they're gonna probably take it. [00:24:07] Speaker B: Didn't I saw a report you guys might have seen it too. Aren't all the specialists saying he's going to dislocate the elbow again? Isn't that the diagnosis I'd heard from. [00:24:14] Speaker A: Well, you can't really heard it some more, but I don't know. [00:24:17] Speaker C: Yeah, I didn't see that. I mean, the only thing saving, I think all of them right now is just how bad that overall division is, like top to bottom. So even for how miserable this game is, like, no one in that division won a game this last week. You know, the Cowboys potentially should be running away with it. The Giants look like, you know, okay, we can kind of be good, but we got Jamis at quarterback, you know, scatter. Boo. Fumbling at an inopportune moment, too. I mean, similar to James Cook tonight in that game, like, gotta protect. Gotta protect the ball at all costs. When you're in these kind of moments right now, I realize. I realize you're playing, you're in the NFL and it's big boy football and everyone's trying to punch the ball out at every given point, but, man, you got to know the priorities there. But I mean, who's, who wants to win this division at this point? The Eagles are trading people away, you know, going into the London game and other teams are just trying to lose at this point. It. It feels like so, I mean, that could be the only saving grace for the hu. The Washington coaching staff at this point is, okay, the division's going to be up for grab the entire season and is it going to be like the NFC south last year where, you know, what was. Was it 8 and 8 and 9 wins the division. [00:25:32] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, my giants are 31 1. They've got. They got some winnable games on their schedule coming up for them. I mean, Washington. Yeah. Tough loss. Philly, you already know where I stand on those guys. So, you know, you could have three of the four coaches be. Be looking for new jobs come the off season again. [00:25:55] Speaker A: I thought Sirianni did okay, though, taking ownership for that little blunder, for how they kind of lost that game because they kind of took that at the end. [00:26:02] Speaker B: Look at, look at. There's no reason they should have ever lost that game. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Statistically. Jags dominated that, but Eagles were kind of controlling it, so I thought they should have won. At least they covered for me. But tough loss, man. They really needed that one. They really needed that one. Lots of penalties on the Jags. I think me and you, we talked about this, Aaron. They've had three games now where they've had more than 12 penalties each game. What's up? You want me to put them up number three in the rankings when they're, like, one of the most penalized teams in the NFL? [00:26:37] Speaker B: Absolutely. Absolutely. Rome. [00:26:39] Speaker A: I can't do it. [00:26:40] Speaker B: I said last week, this is the most talented team in the AFC on defense and offense. I stand bound on that. I mean, look, they might be sloppy with penalties. If they can get that cleaned up, there'll be a tough out. There'll be a tough outcome. [00:26:50] Speaker A: Playoff time, Candy. That's a question. All right. Biggest wins. I thought Steelers had a great win. Great game. I really like their offense. I feel like they're starting to get some type of identity here with McCarthy. All the bitching and bickering between him and Rogers. Now they've had, like a handful of games where they didn't have this many games last year where the offense is kind of hemming and hawing. Defense is going to defense. I know Walk got hurt a little bit, but they scored, they got some big plays. Warren, big surprise there. He's been dominating so far. We'll see how things work when. What was his name from Carolina when he comes back. But Warren's been a great surprise. Taxon's really huge. They got Harrison Jr. Now. We'll see how that works. Former Ohio State teammates, but they took care of business against the Titans. They desperately needed that. Pats took care of business. 45, 17, Bengals, dolphins. I didn't catch too much that game, but that end of the, like, that final score, what the hell happened on what Bengals game? Yeah. 24 points. That's the most they scored what? [00:28:06] Speaker B: Just about prevent defense. [00:28:10] Speaker C: Lions in the fourth quarter. [00:28:13] Speaker A: Okay, got it. One game that I was taking a look at, I actually had money on the Chargers to win against the Broncos, and Broncos pull that out. I'm a little pretty nervous of how things are going there. Something looks wrong in Denver, and I don't know what, what it is. [00:28:33] Speaker C: Well, Aaron's guy, you know, took back the play calling duties. [00:28:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:40] Speaker C: After he basically convinced the offensive coordinator to stay so he can do play calling duties and then took him back four games into the season. [00:28:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:51] Speaker A: Thoughts on that? [00:28:54] Speaker B: Yeah, look, look, the Chargers defensively been pretty good these last three games. I mean, they, they held Josh Allen. They should have won that game. They would have five turnovers against Cook and Josh Allen. So the Chargers defense isn't bad. The Broncos offense is a mess. But look, give the Broncos credit. Good teams. I'm not saying good teams find a way to win games in the fourth quarter. That's what the Broncos do week in, week out. They got a huge matchup Thursday against Seattle at home. So we'll see. We'll see what happens. I mean, both teams are going to be looking to get a win there. Whoever loses goes to three and three. So it's a big game. Big game on Thursday night. But I have no problem with Sean Payne taking over play calling duties. I also saw that d' amigo Ryan's took over play calling duties back for the Texas defense. [00:29:37] Speaker A: He did. He did. [00:29:38] Speaker B: So look, he got, he got Cupcake Tennessee. Now he travels to London. He gets a real test room. Maybe if Jacksonville wins against your super bowl team, Texas, you'll put him at number three. Maybe you'll have them at number one after they win. [00:29:51] Speaker A: Not the only one here. I'm not the only one hyping them up. You like them too? [00:29:56] Speaker C: I, I like that these guys take over the play calling duties when they're playing like the worst team on their schedule. [00:30:00] Speaker B: I was gonna say it's like Dan Campbell against the Commanders when they gave him 40 points a game and he drops 50 and he's like, ah, I'm the greatest play caller ever. [00:30:07] Speaker A: Jason, I think I sent you a meme where it had C.J. stroud and he's walking outside of a door and it was like a bigger woman in the Titans jersey. Like everybody needs like a, a recovery game, something like that to. So that you still got it. [00:30:25] Speaker C: And I don't, I, I don't remember seeing that. I'll have to check. [00:30:27] Speaker A: Yeah, okay, but everybody needs one of those. You Know sometimes you're down on your luck. [00:30:33] Speaker B: A slump buster, huh? From the major league or what? [00:30:36] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. So that's what the times are. [00:30:40] Speaker B: 100. [00:30:41] Speaker A: A couple games I was a little disappointed at. I wanted to see more of the Ravens, but besides that Snoop Huntley clutch down the stretch, I think he was like 11 or for 11. Viking, saints. I expected more of the Saints. Was really disappointed how they played at home. I think that that's back to back. Bad home losses for the Saints. I don't know what to think of them anymore. I still like Shuck, but Vikings won again. I'm. I'm still kind of caught off guard on that one. And then Jets, Browns. Seemed like nobody wanted to win that. Jets came through in another tight, tight win. And then Bucks, Cowboys, Cowboys flat Thursday Night Football. I don't think we did a pod before then or after that. [00:31:28] Speaker B: So that kind of said we didn't win. [00:31:31] Speaker A: Yeah, we didn't. So like that kind of set everything up. And go figure, man. The other Jalen Daniels, or how you say his name, played clutch for the Bucks. That was a big win. Oh, Todd Bowles, he's. [00:31:46] Speaker B: He. [00:31:46] Speaker A: He better be really high in the hot seat. I think he went for it on 4th and 1. Could have kicked the field goal. They could have been up by three possessions like seconds ago in the fourth quarter. He doesn't. He goes for it and makes it actually that game a lot tighter. I was pretty pissed off watching that game Thursday. [00:32:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:32:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Because they could have went up three scores. It was 2410. They could have went up 2710. Yeah. Todd, Bulls are going to get fired. They don't. [00:32:07] Speaker A: I think it's done. I think it's done. [00:32:09] Speaker B: I think division wise, I mean, the division's not great. I mean, I do think Carolina is the. The best team in that division. Atlanta probably a close second, but yeah, Todd Bowles got Pedick. [00:32:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:26] Speaker A: All right. Right now, though, we're five weeks in coach's hot seat. I have a feeling we could probably fire three or four coaches right now, top to bottom. Who are they, Ron? [00:32:39] Speaker B: This supposed to be your level of expertise? I don't. Don't you have a list? [00:32:44] Speaker A: I don't have a list this year. I don't have one. Yeah, I would put. I would put Harbaugh in there, actually. I know exactly fired. [00:32:57] Speaker B: But I'm not gonna get fired. [00:32:59] Speaker C: No. [00:33:00] Speaker A: It should be getting warm, though. [00:33:02] Speaker B: No, not even close. [00:33:04] Speaker A: Who else? [00:33:07] Speaker B: Sirianni. [00:33:10] Speaker A: I'm not there yet. [00:33:11] Speaker B: Siriani's canned. He's getting canned. [00:33:15] Speaker A: We say this every year though. I'll wait till week 17's done. [00:33:19] Speaker B: Let's see whatever year he's made the playoffs, he may still make the playoffs this year but he's going to get canned. [00:33:24] Speaker A: They want a Super bowl when. When everyone thought he was gonna get fired. Remember that? [00:33:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Cause he had a coordinator. [00:33:30] Speaker C: This isn't a Super bowl team. [00:33:32] Speaker A: It's not. They lost a lot of guys and you can see it. They, they lost a little too much. [00:33:36] Speaker B: Now they're trading away players before they travel to London. Dude, one of the ever Eagle. The Eagles were always trading four players. Now they're trading away. They're in a fight. [00:33:47] Speaker A: Yeah, a little weird. [00:33:49] Speaker C: Aaron's guy Stichen speaking of the coordinator. [00:33:52] Speaker B: Yes, it's taken. If the Colts don't make the playoffs, which I don't think they are, Stiking [00:33:58] Speaker A: is out of the job. Interesting. [00:34:00] Speaker B: But I gotta, I, I look at Rome I. You wanted to touch on Steichen. Look, I've said he goes to Philadelphia but if he doesn't get a head coaching job. You asked about hardball in the Chargers. He goes back to the chargers as the OC there so I think that's where Steichen. Because Mike McDaniels will get fired there and Steichen if does not have a head coaching job will be the new OC of the Chargers next year. [00:34:24] Speaker C: Well, that had. If Charbaugh's not getting fired. Do you think McDaniel gets fired here in the next like four weeks? [00:34:31] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:34:34] Speaker B: I. Probably they could. I mean they're going to get beat by the Chiefs and then they get the bye week. I think they have to re. They have to reinvamp what they're doing. But the problem is like they built the whole system and players around, everybody has theirs. I think they almost have to eat it out. And what's the worst case? Like we talked about, they have what, the third most money cap space and you get a top five pick and you don't need a quarterback. So maybe parlay, parlay that into two first round picks or you get Jeremiah Smith out of Ohio State. So there's options there. [00:35:05] Speaker C: Do they not need a quarterback? [00:35:07] Speaker B: No, Herbert's fine. [00:35:09] Speaker C: Sure. [00:35:09] Speaker A: I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. [00:35:11] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:35:12] Speaker A: I think time to dump the Herbert train now. You know for as bad as how everything is for the Chargers they're own five. The Raiders schedule the next seven weeks are pretty tough. They'll be lucky if they get another two or three wins out of that stretch. If Chargers pick up a few wins, they're still in it at least for third place in that division. And who knows what the second half if they're going to run. But look at this af. Look at the AFC north, man, everyone with the winning record, that's looking pretty tough. [00:35:42] Speaker B: Three teams out of the four, both north divisions. Rome, AFC and NFC north, you're right. [00:35:48] Speaker A: Winning record, they're both the same. That. That's amazing. That is amazing. With the Vikings, 5 0, just like we all predicted. I think that's the most shocking part. Other than that, though, it's a doggy dog world. Niners big win, five zero. So we got two teams left. Five and. Oh, is that. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Is that it? Five, zero and four zero. Chief said four zero. [00:36:12] Speaker A: That's right. Three teams left, undefeated. All right, final comments before we talk a little college football. All right, we'll be back. Time to recap a little college football. Week six, which was very, very entertaining. A lot of big dogs went down this week. Lots Moving in the AP. Top 25. Top 25. Getting pounded again by a lot of critics for the rankings. We saw some offices as well. Ucla, my UCLA coming up big in Oregon. They should add a lot more points to 17, but they got it done. 17, 15. And the rest of the schedule is looking pretty nice until they face usc. Taxes costume me in the Westgate contest. Going down to Oklahoma was not happy about that. LSU losing the overtime, amazing. What else? For some reason, those are the only things sticking out. Nebraska should have beat Indiana. Indiana walking away 22, 17. Do they go up in the rankings? I think they just moved up one or two spots. Besides that, though, Kentucky looking kind of real. Looking like they're gonna be a tough out the rest of the year. Aaron, thoughts? How do we do on this past week for games and what does this mean for the rest of the year? [00:37:43] Speaker B: Well, week six, college football. What? Games of the week, Rome. Is that what you got it labeled now? Games of the week, Games to watch. I don't know what, I don't know what you label it now on X Facebook. We went really good 8 and 2, 8 and 2, 21 and 10 over the last three weeks. So if you are following, you're making a profit. Wow. You're making a big profit. If you're not, you're missing out. So it might be something to jump on. We got some great games coming up. Week seven. We'll get into that later in the week. [00:38:11] Speaker C: Officially, Aaron, it is games to watch. [00:38:13] Speaker B: Okay. Games to watch, slash, bet. Maybe that's the new headline. Rome throw that in there too, you know, because these guys are sitting there on the couch, they're watching these games. So, I mean, Friday night started out with a nice banger there of Iowa crushing up on Washington. What's happened to Washington? I mean, that team cannot. Can't score. Can't stop anybody. Iowa. What? Dropped. What was it, 41. [00:38:37] Speaker A: I mean, I got to check. [00:38:39] Speaker B: 41 points? [00:38:40] Speaker A: 41, 24. [00:38:41] Speaker B: You could go a whole month and I would not even score 41 points total versus for. For a month. And then they dropped Washington huge. I mean, there was a lot, A lot that went down. Rome, I mean, you probably gotta be sick to your stomach. I mean, it's. It looked great. Nebraska got off to a real strong start that should have that 9am window. What. What is Nebraska? What is Matt Rule? What do. They lost 30 straight games against ranked teams. Is that correct? Jason and rome, is it 30 straight games? Nebraska's lost, I guess 31 now if you want to add Indiana to that list. Brutal. Brutal. And then Texas. Did you hear the text message, the voice. Text message that Rome sent us? Jason, did you have a chance to, you know, play that? I mean, you might want to play it for the audience, I don't think. [00:39:32] Speaker C: I didn't actually. I. I thought it was fake, so I didn't click on it. [00:39:36] Speaker B: Okay. [00:39:36] Speaker C: I didn't know it was. I didn't. I just. I thought maybe it was just an accident. So it was real. It was a real message. [00:39:41] Speaker B: It was a real message basically saying he's done with Texas, doesn't want to talk about him. Can't stand Arch Sark. You know, hook him down, Horns, whatever the hell's going on. Oklahoma comes back with a nice impressive victory. You know, Jason, this guy gave me a lot of shit last week for not following the notepad. The notepad had Oklahoma this week. Some guy decided to go against it and take Texas. And you go against this pad, you take an L. That's just the bottom line. So again, Oklahoma, with a nice cover for us. If you backed it, you backed it. So I'm happy to see Texas lose every week in, week out. I'm happy. [00:40:21] Speaker A: Oklahoma scored 17 points in the fourth quarter. It was looking pretty decent up until that. Nothing happened in the third quarter, first of all, and then the fourth, which is upside down. It was disgusting. Arch had like some great throws when, like, it was like two minutes left. The play calling sucked. Sark once again, his gets a little tight. He can't make a goddamn play. You know, it's just. It was disgusting. [00:40:44] Speaker B: Wasn't good, Rome. It wasn't good if you're Texas. But, hey, look at you. I mean, talking about games where both teams are trying to give the game away, UCLA and Oregon, I. I don't think I've ever turned over that many turnovers in my life. [00:40:57] Speaker A: Dude. How many straight interceptions they do. Raola threw an interception that was. [00:41:04] Speaker B: I mean, Raola was benched. Benched in the late third quarter there. I mean, six turnovers and six points for Oregon in the third quarter at one point. I mean, what are the odds that on Kelsey? 1 to 2 million on X. [00:41:16] Speaker A: They were talking about, like, Raiola was given a breathalyzer because they thought he was drunk playing on the field. Like, that's how bad it was. People are joking that he was drunk. [00:41:24] Speaker B: Honestly, I. Honestly, I think you got to check with the Oregon medical staff because obviously they checked the wrong guy for. For a concussion, because Raol is the one that had the concussion coming into this game. Should have started D. Moore, bad game. [00:41:36] Speaker C: They had five lost fumbles and two interceptions. So seven total turnovers for Oregon. [00:41:43] Speaker A: I will say this, man, UCLA's defense is. Is pretty good. [00:41:47] Speaker B: It's not bad for UCLA defense. It's really good. What we've seen from those powder blues over the last 25 years. [00:41:54] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:41:56] Speaker B: I mean. I mean, Jason probably wants to chime in. Was it 51 3, Notre Dame over Stanford? Was that the final 58? [00:42:02] Speaker C: 7. [00:42:02] Speaker B: 58 7. [00:42:04] Speaker A: They would have covered, right? [00:42:05] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, they would have covered. I wasn't concerned. [00:42:09] Speaker B: 38, 39, something like that was a number. [00:42:11] Speaker A: We should just take it. Should have taken. [00:42:13] Speaker B: I mean, who do you like? Who do you like this week, Jason? Your. Notre Dame's laying 10 points against BYU. You take it in or. No, 10 points. [00:42:21] Speaker C: A lot. [00:42:22] Speaker B: Wow. [00:42:22] Speaker C: 10 points is a lot. But I think. I think. I think. I think they found the running back. [00:42:28] Speaker B: I think that might be more to do with Stanford, but we'll find out. Plus 10. I like BYU. Plus 10. [00:42:34] Speaker A: BYU doesn't have a good defense, though. I. I think Notre dame can. Actually. [00:42:38] Speaker B: BYU's got a good. I watched. I watched him against Iowa State. He's a pretty solid offensive team. BYU's a lot. A lot more quicker, both offensively and defensively than they were last year against Texas Tech. I think it's gonna be a good game. C.J. carr is going to have to. He wants to showcase himself for the Heisman. This is the game to do it against byu because they're going to have to pass for a lot of yards to beat them. [00:43:00] Speaker C: Yeah, I agree. I mean, this is, you can dog on Notre Dame strength to schedule, but they actually don't have as bad a strength of schedule as everyone's talking about. They're like in like the twenties of strength of schedule so far this year. But no one wants to just talk about their opponents. But I mean, this is, this one right here, right now. This is going to be their, this, this game, Miami, smu, the three big games on Notre Dame schedule. Like ideally you want to sweep all three. You got at least win two out of three to be considered because I think autoback Notre Dame gets the auto bid if they, you know, go 11 and 1 or whatever. But, you know, this is probably, you know, the big, this will be the biggest matchup right here. But until the Miami game. [00:43:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a big game for Notre Dame. I mean, if they lose this one, then the pressure is really on because they can't afford to lose two games. Given what we're seeing from the sec, Big Ten, all the top tier teams in those conferences, a two loss Notre Dame could be on the outside looking in. So this is a big game. Byu, obviously it's not, it's not a conference matchup. They still got a chance in the Big 12 with some other big games there too. But it's gonna be a good game in Provo. [00:44:03] Speaker A: Yeah. With how tough everyone else's schedule is. Yeah, two loss would be tough. Let's talk about the biggest balls of the week, man. Let's talk about Kentucky's coach going for it for two at home to take it all instead of kicking the extra field goal. Amazing. It was basically the same play that they ran earlier to get a touchdown. Overtime as well. Cost me dearly, but they played really well. [00:44:28] Speaker B: I, I'd be curious to get your guys's take on this. You know, I mean, look, Will Stein, big A honeys for sure. But what happened to Lane Kiffins? [00:44:37] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:44:37] Speaker B: You got. [00:44:38] Speaker A: He doesn't look the same. [00:44:39] Speaker B: You got fourth and one, a chance to ice the game and he kicked. I mean, I, I didn't recognize, I don't recognize this Lane Kiffin, guys. I do not recognize him. [00:44:49] Speaker A: I mean, he was going for four. [00:44:51] Speaker B: Four fourth and seven. You got a chance to pick Kentucky away. I know the kicker and missed two kicks in a row. But hey, third time's the charm, right? He got that one. Go to the third time. I I just don't know, man. LSU had that game. There's no reason for them to lose. We talk about coaching blunders. Lane Kiffin's taking a lot of, man, a lot of. And he should. Will Stein. Will Stein showed him what's up. [00:45:14] Speaker A: I don't think they're sold on Sam lab it either. I. I think it's just what it. [00:45:18] Speaker B: It is what it is. [00:45:18] Speaker A: If he would have gotten his way and was able to bring Chandlers over from. From Ole Miss, I think that's a different story. But Sam Levitt is just too entry prone, makes a lot of mistakes. He had a decent game again, but, you know, like, the play calling was a little awkward going down the second half of the stretch, so wasn't a big fan of it. [00:45:36] Speaker C: I mean, you knew this was going to happen with Lane when you got in this. I mean, LSU's, their. Their patience isn't as much as probably at the grace he got in Ole Miss. And would it take him six years to kind of build Ole Miss to where they were at at that particular point? Ellis, LSU ain't giving you that. They're expecting immediate results this year. And so. Yeah, I don't know. Is that. Does that creep into his head? Like he gets a little more conservative than what he would have been? You know, I was watching. I've been watching the Nick Saban documentary on ESPN the past couple nights. [00:46:05] Speaker A: All right. It's good. [00:46:05] Speaker C: Yeah, it's. It's really good. I'm enjoying it. And it got to the point where they hired Saban and. Or. And Saban hired Lane Kiffin and. Yeah, he was just. I mean, he was just an anarchist inside of this, like, process, structure and everything going on there. Not sure if he. He gets the LSU right now. Like, what is. What's kind of the structure and process he's building there. But, you know, does the little bit more of the pressure that you're getting out of an LSU team that has these super high standards and, you know, really a short leash on the last couple of coaches they've had, does that start creeping into what he's going to be able to do here? And especially if you, if you get an sec, you know, that's frankly been a little down the past couple years. I mean, we've talked about it here. The Big Ten's got to put it away. But now, hey, Kentucky's going to be good. They're five and one, three and one in the sec. [00:46:51] Speaker A: Amazing. [00:46:52] Speaker C: I mean, Florida's program, you know, I know they lost this last week, but Florida's kind of coming back. But they get upset by, you know, South Carolina team that hasn't been great, but they're able to, you know, swearing even D. So I mean the sec, you know, they talk about their depth and everything from a conference perspective. That doesn't make it any easier for Elaine Kiffin that needs to go basically undefeated, you know, or only have one loss in the sec. [00:47:15] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't think he's, he's being hot water or anything like that. It's just like, yeah, like they wanted to turn around really, really quick the Ole Miss loss. Okay, great rivalry game. He, he's coming to back into town. Got it. This Kentucky lost though, excuse. Well, they should easily cover it as well. But they got a tough site right here. You got Mississippi State coming up. Alabama by all means could be the number one team in the country in my opinion. [00:47:38] Speaker B: Where's that game? Texas is it at Alabama, at lsu. Okay. [00:47:42] Speaker A: But they got Tennessee. That's a tough slate. I got them losing maybe two more of what's left here. Well, the next six games going back [00:47:51] Speaker B: to Sam Levitt, Rome, there's, there's a lot of highs and a lot of lows of that guy. He gets hurt, but he'll make some, he'll make some runs and place. You know what he, he's like the college NFL version. I'm not saying he's anywhere near as good as this guy yet of Josh Allen. He makes some spectacular plays and throws of his legs and arms comparison. [00:48:11] Speaker A: That's crazy. [00:48:12] Speaker B: I'm just saying the wildness of this guy. Okay, if you go and look at, I mean go look at the game against Ole Miss, he wasn't, they were doing nothing. And then when they get like 21 straight points where they scored like three touchdown drives in a row, he looks great. And then he does something stupid kind of similar against Kentucky. There's no reason they should have lost against Kentucky. And look, look, Kiffin's not going to get fired after year one. But like Jason mentioned, look, the expectation there is off the roof. This is a 50 million dollar roster. You just lost to a first year coach coming into another program that's been, you know, bottom half of the SEC for all their lives. I know, you know, they had a few good years here and there where they won eight, nine games but never really a serious threat. But I said, look, I like the Kentucky Will Stein. I said he's a hell of a coach. You saw what happened when he left Oregon. They, they can't move the ball and score points on offense. Coordinators coaching make a big, big, big deal in football, as Jason's pointed out number of times. And look, Will Stein, there's no hesitation. He gives, he gets the touchdown. He's pinning up the deuces and he's going home with the victory. They got a huge game against Oklahoma. We're going to find out just how good Kentucky is because the Sooners can play great defense. That game's in Norman. If Kentucky wins that game, watch out. They, they, they may be a serious outside playoff contender. [00:49:35] Speaker A: I mean, Oklahoma definitely shove. It's the Red river rivalry. I trying to spit that one out here. But coming off a big high like that. We've seen other teams like this. You know, Florida, Ole Miss, they have a big win the next week, they come out flat. Is that what's going to happen next week? Then? [00:49:53] Speaker B: They come out flat. But those games are always those next big games have been on the road. This one's at home. I think if you're curious. I'm curious from. I think Oklahoma is going to win that game. I'll be tight, leaning right now towards Kentucky, maybe covering and looks like the line has come down a little bit too. [00:50:08] Speaker A: Was a spread. [00:50:10] Speaker B: It was seven down to six and a half. [00:50:12] Speaker A: I would take that. Wait, so Kentucky underdogs? [00:50:15] Speaker B: Yes. [00:50:16] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I'm taking that for me, the game. [00:50:19] Speaker B: I'm really curious. Jason pointed out Florida look, Florida's look bad these last two games after looking fabulous, they now go to Texas. You know, is Texas gonna be tight? Is Florida gonna refine their mojo? I mean, a lot of people are backing Texas right now. That line is shot up to 1112 points. I think it's gonna be. I think it's gonna be a tough game, man. I think the Gators are gonna show up and pin up a fight. I'll be curious. I mean, Texas does have a really good defense. [00:50:45] Speaker A: But you know what's funny about Texas, they can't play for on the road. It's been like the whole Arch Banning thing. They are terrible on the road. Look it up. Every road game, they don't cover. They're. They're miserable at home. All of a sudden, every other game, Arch Manning is looking like a prospective, you know, number one pick. And the NFL draft, I don't know. [00:51:04] Speaker B: That's what this, that's what these college teams do. That's why they play eight games at home. Right. I mean, that's why Miami has 10 games at home and the other two are against, like, FAU, which are there on the road in Florida State. I mean, basically, home games don't ever leave the state of Florida, so. But look, you know, we touch, joking all aside about Texas. Look, the first two years on this pod, they had easy, easy SEC schedules. It got them through. [00:51:27] Speaker A: All right. [00:51:28] Speaker B: Ohio, Texas. [00:51:28] Speaker C: Really? Texas really only has four road games. [00:51:31] Speaker B: Yeah, that's it this year. Yeah. [00:51:34] Speaker C: At Tennessee, at Missouri, at lsu, at Texas A and M. Everything else home or neutral. [00:51:40] Speaker B: All right, Possibility. I mean, they could lose all three of those. I don't think they lose at A and M, but don't write that game off yet. At LSU is going to be a dog fight. Missouri's a really good team in the sec. They got a nice win over A and M. Blew them out. They got a big, big matchup. Missouri, Ole Miss this week. I mean, we were loaded with college football games this week in Rome coming up. It's gonna be tough to choose 10 or 12 games to watch games of the week for week seven. [00:52:11] Speaker A: I'm not putting on more than 10 or whatever's on the slate right now. Whatever. I got space on that. All right, 20 games are over. [00:52:18] Speaker B: This might be one of those where I make two sheets. There's sheet 1A, 1B. I don't know. [00:52:23] Speaker C: That's like. [00:52:24] Speaker B: I just know BYU, Notre Dame's on there. I just know that that's season one. [00:52:28] Speaker C: Sources of the sofa. [00:52:29] Speaker B: When he had. [00:52:29] Speaker C: When he filled out that pad, man, it was just, you know, ridiculous games. [00:52:34] Speaker A: 26 games on here. You know, if you want to send me 50 for coffee, it might be [00:52:38] Speaker B: a Buffalo wild wing Saturday, where you just got 12 TVs all day. I don't know. I gotta look at it. [00:52:44] Speaker C: That's just my. [00:52:45] Speaker B: I think I've already given you, like, six games. I haven't even checked out the whole board yet. We're. We're. [00:52:49] Speaker A: We're gonna try to get Aaron sponsored by baby powder, so you can baby powder that ass. You know, sweating all on the sofa all day. [00:52:55] Speaker B: Hey, definitely, man. [00:52:56] Speaker A: No AC in that house. [00:52:58] Speaker B: Hey, you know what? It's nice and cool right now, so I'm feeling pretty good of the rain that came through here. He. [00:53:02] Speaker C: He wakes up above, you know, gets. Walks downstairs, gets in front of the couch, does the whole LeBron with baby powder over his couch and everything, then sits down. [00:53:10] Speaker B: Love it. There you go, man. Hey, I'll put that on. I'll put that on. My only fans. [00:53:15] Speaker A: That's so good. Oh, man. Too much visual there. Yeah, I. I think I think I could have sworn earlier this year I was upset with a Texas game. I said never again. I totally forgot it. I put them part my three. I like the reasoning though, man. They're number one. I thought they should more than easily cover it. I had them winning most projections by 10 points. I did a thousand simulations. I thought that was fair. Lsu, I thought they should have won as well. It's the curse of the three games, man. I couldn't believe it. [00:53:46] Speaker C: Curse of the three games, man. It's undefeated this year. [00:53:51] Speaker B: I'm going to try to bounce it this upcoming week. [00:53:53] Speaker A: Yeah, get two wins, man. Break it. [00:53:56] Speaker B: I'm trying. There's some games, there's games I like. It's just. It's hard sometimes to just use between two or three games. [00:54:04] Speaker A: Let's take a look real quick at the new. [00:54:07] Speaker B: I mean we haven't even touched on Ohio State, Indiana coming up. It's a big game too. A lot of big games. [00:54:11] Speaker A: Rome, Indiana is interesting. [00:54:13] Speaker B: Their. [00:54:14] Speaker A: Their quarterback's actually pretty good. I. I can't really stand. I guess everyone thinks he's better or can be better than Mendoza. Like there's all these glaring comments about on every broadcast. I'm just like, yeah, like there's moments here and there. Every quarterback has moments like this. Like this year's the weirdest year because no one is really sticking out from like A to Z top performances. Besides that guy out of Mississippi State. I think he's the one that's been the most consistent all year round. Everybody else has been up and down, flashes of greatness. But out of like this deep draft, all these quarterbacks coming out, I think everyone should just go back to college next year. Like it's, it's been so mistake prone, brain farts, the play call has been weird. What are your thoughts on that? [00:55:03] Speaker B: I'd like to get Jason's take it on your guys's take too. I think Arch Manning is going to come back to college. [00:55:08] Speaker A: I think, I think you should. [00:55:10] Speaker B: Yeah. The question is, Rome, I think you touched on it last year. Does he go back to Sark in Texas or does he enter the portal? [00:55:16] Speaker A: I actually think he needs to go somewhere else. I don't think Sark knows how to coach him. I don't think Sark has done anything in the four years he's been there. He should be a lot better than this. He was a lot better coming in relief when yours was the quarterback and he, I think he's actually, you know, regressed since he's been the starting Quarterback, he should have been a lot better by now. I think he's in the wrong system. And yeah, you know what? Maybe come to ucla. I heard we might be needing a quarterback next year. How about that? [00:55:43] Speaker B: I heard you might be needing another coach, too, but [00:55:47] Speaker A: you're not taking away your coach. Dude, we finally got one. He's not going anywhere. [00:55:52] Speaker B: Hey, man, Nowhere. I don't know, Rome. He's not going to force that Brinks truck, bro. You better back it up. You better back it up. [00:55:59] Speaker C: If there's anything I learned from that saving documentary is money's gonna talk. I wonder the next coaching job's gonna be. [00:56:05] Speaker B: Hey, man. [00:56:06] Speaker C: Yeah, I, I, I'm probably 50, 50 on it. Aaron. I think they're that he comes back [00:56:12] Speaker B: or if he does come back, he transfers or kind of both. [00:56:15] Speaker C: I can't see him transferring. I just think there's something with, you know, the way, if you look historically, the way the Manning family kind of operates, I think there is, obviously this is a different era of college football, but they're very selective on kind of where they go and what they do. I mean, even when Arch chose Texas, he'd go in there knowing he wasn't going to kind of be the starter and there was going to be some development behind there. And now that he is, I, I just can't see. I think Texas, well, they're not choosing however much money. [00:56:46] Speaker A: They don't need the money. They, they're choosing it for the prestige and the aura. [00:56:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:51] Speaker A: Experience. [00:56:52] Speaker C: There's something, there's something behind it. I mean, Texas for, you know, their lack of probably success in their eyes for the last, like, you know, however many years since they've been to, like, the national title. The last national title game is when they lost Alabama. The Colt McCoy era. Was that, Is that it? I, I think so. But [00:57:12] Speaker B: because they got to the Final Four and got beat by Pinnock and those. Washington won in 22. [00:57:17] Speaker A: I hated that game. [00:57:18] Speaker B: 23, whatever year it was. [00:57:19] Speaker C: But yeah, so I, I, I think there is, you know, something with them choosing this, the, you know, the, with Arch choosing it or the Manning family choosing it, that they're going to stay. I think it's 50, 50. I think they're probably gonna see like, hey, what, what's going to be the options when it comes to the pros? Is he going to be going number one? What are the organizations like, looking for a quarterback? Do they feel comfortable with that? Does he gain more being in, in college for another year? I think there's still Development there. I, I agree with you, Aaron. I think there's a lot more. I don't know if he's regressed like Rome's saying, because I, I think he was okay when he came in for years, but he was obviously like a freshman and, you know, it was, it was a lot different. But I, I don't think he's taken the steps. I think there's a lot of Manning pedigree behind the name. There are things he does very well. His mobility, the way he does certain, you know, he has, he can make a lot of the throws. I don't know. Can he make all the throws? But, yeah, the system, I don't know how that lines up with some of the stuff, too. And when you get to the pros, the system matters. I mean, you look at, look at Caleb Williams from year one to year two, from the Eber Flutes to the Ben Johnson stuff, what's going to be the situation he's walk into? And if you looked at Eli, Eli Manning, you know, wasn't going to the Chargers, was going to the Giants for whatever reasons that was. So you'd imagine they're going to be selective about how he goes into the pros. I don't know if he's the best quarterback. I'm biased that CJ Carr is potentially better, but I don't know if he [00:58:42] Speaker B: comes out draft eligible. [00:58:45] Speaker C: He can, he can declare, but I don't know if he, I don't know if he goes. I think he, he could bet potentially come back for another year at Notre Dame, depending what it is. So, I mean, you look at these quarterbacks now, I think there's, there's a whole host of them that are eligible, but whether they actually come out in this draft, I mean, with the nil money and what these guys are looking for for one run at a national title, if they don't like the situations that are potentially lining up for them in the pros, why are they gonna, you know, stick their neck out and go out there? Like, how many, how many teams are gonna be looking for a quarterback as was the jets, the Titans? I don't know. [00:59:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, look, I. Rome, I, I tend to think I'm probably 60, 40, that he does come back. As far as transfer, I think it's probably unlikely, but there are options, right? I mean, you touched on ucla. I, you know, I, I don't necessarily think that's a bad option. I think USC with Lincoln Riley, we've seen what he's done with a lot of college Quarterbacks is an option there. And then look, if. Do you want to go to Ole Miss, Chandler will be gone. There's an opportunity to go there if he wants to enter a transfer portal. And, you know, one of the three finalists, I believe, for his services before he chose Texas was the University of Florida. That would be an option, too, if he wants to go that route. So there's different options. But Jason touched on a good thing. Look, if that's the pro situation, ain't good. These quarterbacks are getting, what, 4 to 6 million nil. And that's only probably going up. So, like, yeah, if you're a C.J. carr, like, I'm. I'm sure he's probably getting three and a half, four million to stay at Notre Dame. If he gets to a playoff here and gets a deep run, he's probably going to be worth five and a half to seven million next year to hang around and stay. So there's a lot of money there. But to me, I think he plays a lot better when you just go like, no huddle, two minutes. And he's kind of playing backyard football because, like Jason pointed out, his ability to kind of run around, create plays is kind of his strength. But when he's kind of sitting in the pocket, his footwork gets sloppy. He kind of feels pressure and kind of forces reads and throws that aren't there. He's a work in progress. Rome, definitely. And I don't think he's necessarily taking the strides in that. Sark. I think it's probably one of the more overrated offensive philosophy coaches in college football right now. It's a lot of dink and dunk and just take a few shots here and there. That's why he didn't work out in the NFL to me. But we'll see. We'll see what he ends up doing. [01:01:12] Speaker A: All right. Any other games you guys want to touch on or Talk about? Top 25? George is the new number one. Notre Dame. Number two, Miami, Ohio State, Indiana is your top five teams right now. [01:01:27] Speaker C: Well, I don't think we talked a ton about. It was just that the Georgia, Alabama game, kind of how that ended on. [01:01:33] Speaker A: On. [01:01:35] Speaker C: I mean, I think the highlight for me had the entire game. I don't know. Highlight that was going around was basically Caitlin DeBoer just ripping into the player that cost in the game. [01:01:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:45] Speaker C: At the end. Towards the end of the game, where everything was close. And that's the mistake. That kind of like seals the game for Georgia, because I agree with you guys. I Think, I think Bama's a really good team and they're going to make the playoff and be a force to be reckoned with despite this loss. But I, I think that was, it was a, it was a crucial time and two teams that basically were just duking it out there. I, you know, probably the game of the week. [01:02:09] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a lot that went on. I mean, I think I went on a rant what, two, three weeks ago about the officiating, helping Bama out. Well, they got the memo because they screwed him on this game. No doubt about that. I mean, there's a PI in the end zone. [01:02:21] Speaker A: That was obvious passing, that was terrible. Yeah. [01:02:25] Speaker B: And then look, the guy from Georgia, he took a flop. I mean, he barely got touched. Flew to the ground. Looking at the referee. You can't throw a flag there in that situation if you're a referee. But yeah, Kellen Deborah was going nuts. [01:02:39] Speaker A: He had left. [01:02:40] Speaker B: That's probably gone now. Yeah, he lost his mind. Big win for Georgia. You know, I had him coming in number one ranked team in my rankings, which I'll give you tomorrow. Rome. So you can have them, you can post them. I guess people are demanding them, you know. Hey, time, times of essence here. Rome, time of his essence. So look, good win for Georgia, especially on the road. I didn't realize Georgia hadn't won in Alabama, what, since 2006. Matthew Stafford, they showed an old highlight. So they basically, basically outside of the SEC championship and the playoff, they have not won there in 20 years. Impressive win. Alabama looked really good. Could have easily won that game. The replay guy too. I don't know about you guys, but I just don't know how these replay guys get jobs in college. I mean, Alabama had an interception that got called away because they said it hit the ground, yet there's no evidence it hit the ground. I, I just don't know what guys are looking at up there. [01:03:33] Speaker A: I can't remember which games, but there was a few replays. This is not a good weekend for replays either. Last minute coaching decisions and replays, lots [01:03:42] Speaker B: of misses there and referees. That's home is always a bad gig. [01:03:46] Speaker A: Funny, I don't know if I, if I agree Georgia be number one team in the country, but they like even last year I think I was by on their fall several times. They kept on like, all right, so you got. [01:03:56] Speaker B: Who's your number one team then? Rome? [01:03:58] Speaker A: Oh, no, I just, you know, are you saying, are you, are, are you [01:04:00] Speaker B: kissing Jason's ass again? Say Notre Dame now Or what? [01:04:04] Speaker A: I mean there's this guy. [01:04:06] Speaker B: It ain't Texas that that that ship sell. [01:04:08] Speaker A: It's not tax. You know, even I like Texas, but I'm like, it was not the best number one team we've had in a while is. But they do have two top 15 wins. You know, the resume speaks for itself. But Georgia, even last year I was by on their fall, they should have lost several of those games and they just found a way to win. They found a way to win. [01:04:26] Speaker B: Just like Georgia's been blowing people out this year. [01:04:29] Speaker A: Yeah, this is a big win, but one that they could easily. [01:04:34] Speaker B: Who's your number one Rome if it's not Georgia? [01:04:36] Speaker A: I mean, I, I just don't think they're the best team in the country. You know, I would probably put. I probably put Miami number one Nordame too. We'll see. After Notre Dame has a couple of these victories against some ranked opponents. There's this guy that we follow. You know, he was picking up like big spread discrepancies in Las Vegas and, and they ended up hitting this past week and we, we, we had some on the podcast. He has this power rankings though and he has Notre Dame number one despite everyone talking about their soft schedule. And by everyone, I mean me. [01:05:14] Speaker C: But I'm telling you, when you look at strength of schedule like it so far this year, it is not. [01:05:19] Speaker A: I didn't see that. But you used to. [01:05:20] Speaker B: Well, no, I, I will say this. The. I mean, I don't think North Carolina is that good. Even though they, they did get a nice win against Pittsburgh. [01:05:27] Speaker A: North Carolina. [01:05:28] Speaker B: Yeah, they're three and two. Oh, they should have beat Clemson. The win. That's underrated. That I think is really going to hype this up and I think it's a good team. And they got your team this week in Rome is Wisconsin. Wisconsin's a solid football team and they beat them week one. They beat him pretty good. Controversy of the referees. It was like, you know, 20 on 12 or whatever the hell it was. It was the replay guy. And that game wasn't very good either. But Wisconsin's not a bad football team. We'll see what they do at UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Rome tickets ON SALE Maybe you can still walk in. I mean that's always been the laughing joke. You can just walk into the rose pole. They don't check you for ID tickets. Nothing. I don't know. That's still the case. I guess we'll find out soon. [01:06:13] Speaker A: And gets free tickets now. [01:06:14] Speaker B: So. But yeah, Wisconsin, North Carolina, those Wins. Did they beat Clemson, too? Do they play Clemson yet? Notre Dame, or do they play them? [01:06:28] Speaker C: They play them later in the season. No, they don't play them this year. I'm sorry. [01:06:34] Speaker B: Okay. [01:06:34] Speaker C: They play. They play. They play SMU in Syracuse. [01:06:38] Speaker B: All right. [01:06:39] Speaker C: So, yeah, I mean, I mean, it's the three games that we're going to talk about. It's byu, they get up, then they play Navy. I mean, Navy's no slouch generally. I mean, it's, it's. I know everyone says it, but, you know, they're usually pretty solid. Bought Miami's, then the big game, then Boston College, then smu, and then ending at Syracuse. [01:06:59] Speaker A: Biggest drops in the rankings this past week was LSU and Texas. Shocking. [01:07:05] Speaker B: That'd be Oregon. Right? [01:07:06] Speaker A: Then Oregon and Oregon. Yeah, Oregon's out there. [01:07:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:10] Speaker B: The coaches poll, though, they should be ranked still. [01:07:13] Speaker A: Oregon, they've had tough losses, good losses. [01:07:19] Speaker C: It'll be interesting as ever, as it ever is in the sec given how many SEC teams are just kind of like in that. I mean, you got a slug of them with Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State, like all slug together, 13 through 16th that are all 4 and 1, 5 and 1, you know, right there. And so as you know, you get a lot of these matchups in the sec. What's going to, you know, rise to the top and how much of these teams drop? I don't, you know, Georgia probably going to be going close to undefeated or undefeated. So they're probably going to stick number one for a little while. But as Texas and Bama and Ole Miss, LSU play some of these tougher, you know, teams because the SEC is going to demand probably what, four, four slots. [01:08:01] Speaker B: Aaron, it's going to be hard, man, because they're canceling each other out. And look, I'm surprised the SEC hasn't gone to the Big Ten and agreed to this 2014 playoff. They seem to be the big holdup for it. But look, about the schedule. Kentucky at lsu, Miss or at Oklahoma? Mississippi State at lsu, Missouri at Ole Miss. This is almost like cancel out and we're in week seven, so some of these teams are going to have two conference losses and they're really good football teams. So yes, I mean, look, the SEC would be smart to go to a 24 team plays schedule and ask for six bids. They'd be worth it. They should get it. The Big Ten could get four or five and then you could just kind of figure it out from there because, look, it's a lot of cancellation is going to be going on the sec, it's like an NFL gauntlet of schedule where it's a week to week league right now in the sec. [01:08:54] Speaker A: You know, it's crazy. If they, if they did increase and it was like six biz, I'll just look at the SEC like I would not have a problem with the top six right now being in it. And then even then outside of that, you got Ole Miss, Florida, depending how you feel about them, do tax like and that's not including Texas or SG LLC right now with the way the rankings are. [01:09:11] Speaker B: So I, I will say this Rome, if we're looking at the sec and I'm looking at it, I, I believe Tennessee's a fraud. Mississippi State will be exposed as a fraud. Florida's kind of there now and then. So you got Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, Texas. Those four teams are probably the four that are going to likely get in. Missouri is kind of the wild card, but they go at Ole Miss this week. I actually like Mississippi in that game because you talk about teams that are looking for a letdown game. Two big wins against Texas A M and Florida. This is a letdown spot for Missouri. So I actually like Ole Miss and Tennessee. Like they're, they're not very good on offense. They just beat a bad Arkansas team by seven points. They don't have enough offense. Young team Kentucky, they're kind of the wild card. We're going to find out what they do at Oklahoma. [01:10:02] Speaker A: They got a tough stretch. Oklahoma coming up, Vanderbilt which has been kind of hit or miss. Tennessee, you said they're frauds. Florida, Missouri later on and they end it with Louisville. So maybe one or two more losses. [01:10:14] Speaker B: That's brutal. At least, at least more losses. Maybe three. We'll see. Aaron. [01:10:21] Speaker C: Aaron. We still got some weeks left and obviously the SEC is going to be canceling some people out here, But I think one, one conference, I feel it got zero talk about last year. I know I was, I was one advocating for not the Pac 12, the Big 12. So the Big 12 only got one team in last year. I mean Notre Dame. I was loudly voting about them getting snubbed over, you know, it was the Miami versus them and Bama. I think you know Bama got that last spot in after losing the SEC championship game or whatever it was. But the loser of the Big 12 championship game kind of got hose between Texas Tech and BYU last year. So right now you got a BYU team, 5, 0, Texas Tech 5. And oh, Utah 5. And oh, BYU's got one of the biggest games of the year. You know, basically of the year for them potentially right now with Notre Dame, if they do lose, go undefeated in the Big 12. You know, do. Do two Big 12 teams get in? Because these are some good football teams last year, and I think one of them, you know, didn't get the shot that they probably should have given. They cancel each other out and the conference only got one bid. [01:11:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, look, this comes back to the BYU conversation. BYU just didn't pass the eye test. Right. They played Texas Tech twice, got blown out both times. They didn't look like a playoff team. Now we're going to kind of see they've got, like you mentioned, they got Notre Dame, they've got at Utah, Baylor. All these teams are basically competing for Big 12 championship. Even Arizona State will be a tough out. I, I watched the whole game against byu, Iowa State. Iowa State obviously is not the greatest program right now going on with the, in the Big 12, but I was impressed what I saw at BYU. So I, I believe they're going to give Notre Dame a game. Look, I wouldn't be surprised if they won that game. Look at Bear at quarterbacks, no joke, this dude, he throws a lot better ball than he did last year. They got a lot more speed on the outside. He's a power quarterback, too. Notre Dame's gonna have their, their hands full in this game. I'm surprised it came out 10. My initial line for my power line was 5. So when it came out 10, I was really shocked actually to see it. [01:12:28] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, final comments. [01:12:33] Speaker B: All right, I got one for you. Rome. Sooner. Boomer, bro. Sooner. Boomer. [01:12:38] Speaker A: You go yourself. We back after this. All right. We're here to talk a little F1. Signapore Grand Prix, Verstappen, back to back, big races like the boogeyman coming back from the dead, scaring Antonelli. Antonelli. Another podium. No shocker there some drama. The sprint race, Norris and Piastri crashing. I, I didn't see the gap that Norris was talking about. Some people talking on him on X, but I don't know what happened with the, with the papaya rules, but it seemed like no one has really talked about it since then. And I saw like, like some news articles giving Norris credit for, you know, for approaching that professionally, which I don't know what that means. We'll talk a little F1 before we talk about Jason's White Sox up to zero. But thoughts on this race? [01:13:41] Speaker C: I mean, overall, it wasn't a great race. I think this is another one of those tracks where There isn't a lot of room to pass. Even Max was saying, I think during this after the sprint, like there just isn't enough area to get enough like momentum and horsepower out of the engine and some of the straights there are to be able to get the pass. But also like the boost mode out of the car really didn't do anything. It wasn't giving anything extra. And so I, I think that just really stifled it. This, this race turned into a couple different storylines. One, it was Max Verstappen's dominance the entire weekend. Won the sprint race, got the pull, won the race. Just utter dominance. Taking us back, you know, a couple years ago when Max was just dominating everything. So the Red Bull car obviously has got some pace and Max knows how to get out of it. I think the biggest story of the thing besides the McLaren bumping in each other was just the utter cluster F that is Ferrari and whatever the hell they were doing this entire race. I, I don't even know who's to blame. Lewis Hamilton is taking the blame. I guess it could be some of his fault. But I still think the insane race strategy that this team goes with race to race sometimes has all the question I don't understand like what they're doing. They put Lewis on the medium to start, turns out to be not a great tire. Lewis wasn't happy with it, but they're 18 laps in and then the medium tire, which is supposed to give you length and you're supposed to stay out, he's the first one that pits on it and then gets on this sauce, I'm like, okay, automatically you're going to a two stop strategy. And later in the race when they go, when there is a safety car, virtual safety car, the opportunity to pit, they pit Charles LeClaire on the two stopper and then Lewis doesn't come in and the team after the race said that he chose not to come in. But all of the Twitter sluice and all the Lewis Hamilton fans out there, I got all the onboard audios trying to figure out when the hell did the Ferrari team tell Lewis to come in. So I don't know who to believe on this situation, but it was an utter cluster. They ruined a podium. They should have been in second and third. Lewis falls all the way to six because he ran on some soft tires for what, 40 something laps. But it was terrible. The communication with Ferrari is just awful. Like the language barrier and everything between all of these guys in the Ferrari that are speaking, you know, English. But it's not their first language. Italy, like, Lewis was asking questions, they didn't give him the right answers. I mean, Max Verstappen had no radio communication. Him and his gp, his guy were basically like, max, if you want this, don't respond in the next five seconds. If you want this, just, you know, say something. And they really communicate. But Lewis is asking questions like, what were the last end of stints and this and that. And the Ferrari guy is just like, not even answering his questions. So, I mean, terrible communication. Ferrari, they are a complete cluster. I think they're going to get passed by Red Bull when it comes to the constructors. Maybe not this season, but potentially next season. It's just not good overall. And I mean, man, as a Lewis Hamilton fan, you're just thinking, what if he was in this, in the Mercedes right now? What would he be doing? And Ferrari, I just don't know if they're ever going to find their place right now. [01:17:04] Speaker B: Yeah, Ferrari is the comedy show that the F1 keeps giving every Sunday morning, that's for sure. Yeah. To Jason's point, look, it was funny because Hamilton's like, hey, what were the times? And they're like, we'll get back to you. We'll get back to you on that. Lewis, we'll get back to you. [01:17:19] Speaker C: We're checking, we're checking. When we get back to you, we're checking. [01:17:23] Speaker B: Hey, I was. Check my brakes. We'll get back to you. Hey, everything looks good. Everything looks. Everything checks out good. Keep going, keep going. Give us pace. You know how it's like, I'm going as fast as I can, but look. Yeah, Max Verstappen dominated. Like Jason mentioned, getting to turn one was interesting. You know, Charles LeClaire had a chance but didn't go for it. Maybe just, you know, was happy to finish on the podium. Didn't want to risk getting in an accident there, you know, McLaren not a good weekend for those guys. Obviously they had some issues leading up to the race and did not have a strong race overall as well. You know, Antonelli, what, he can clinch the title, I believe, at the next GP in Texas, depending how things go. [01:18:09] Speaker A: Wow. [01:18:10] Speaker B: So the drama of going down to the final race is not going to be there this year. And it's tough. It's tough waking up Rome like you touched on. You got. You got a five o' clock in the morning race and then it's night time in Singapore. It's like, man, this shit's to sleep watching this thing. At least at the other races, it's two, three. The bright lights, the sunshine is out there. This one was almost like a snooze fest. Not a lot of entertainment, but nice win for Verstappen. Back to back for him. [01:18:38] Speaker A: These early morning F1 races. Waking up at 5, falling back asleep in 15 minutes. Waking up, back again. We got the European, you know, NFL game. Falling back asleep. You know, some, you know, some point in the first quarter. I didn't get much sleep on, on Saturday night, that's for sure. And I didn't even go out. It was rough. But I did watch the race. Not much. No comments. [01:19:05] Speaker C: Yeah, we're coming down to it. You got six races left to go. You know, two groups of three. You're gonna have the North America or the kind of America's tour with Austin, then Mexico and then Brazil. So, you know, three really great tracks. I love this, this section of the calendar. I think you get three great circuits, like proper F1 tracks. No more crappy street circus. You get to Vegas, which is pretty okay. Street circuit. I like Vegas probably more than some F1 purists. And then we still got. [01:19:33] Speaker B: We. [01:19:33] Speaker C: I think we find out this week whether we are actually facing the two races in the Middle east with still some, you know, external, external global politics and warfare going on in the Middle east of whether they're going to run those two races. But with that said, with either five or six races left to go, Mercedes pretty much is going to lock up the constructors here soon with a, you know, 130 point lead over Ferrari. And then the thing, the interesting you mentioned the Norris, the, the Piastri Norris thing is interesting because McLaren screwed themselves out of some guaranteed points in that sprint and now Red Bull's probably going to pass them and McLaren's going to fall fourth in the constructors. And that's a ton of money that they lose for their team. And, you know, that's everyone in the factory and different type of stuff that the team gets bonuses on. So, I mean, those guys, I think that what you said, Lando playing it politically correct because he know he messed up. He messed up a lot of stuff for the entire organization because they don't give a crap about these guys where they're fat finishing the driver standings because neither of them are going to win the championship. They're playing for the team game right now. And they completely took a ton of stuff away from what Lando did. I mean, Lando was kissing ass there. Even in the race. He's. He's all ahead is like, is there Anything I can do to help out Oscar, but basically back up, like Lewis into Oscar. Like, I was like, dude, you're like 15 seconds ahead of Lewis. You're gonna try to back up to. Try to back him up into Piastri. Like, you know, he was doing anything he could on the radio because he knew he messed up in that sprint. [01:21:02] Speaker A: Yeah, I was gonna mention that. With Verstappen, you know, just basically claiming what, 50 points now, like in the last two weeks, he's made this a race. Now they're only, they're only seven points [01:21:13] Speaker B: back, but you know, Isaac Hajar has been good too, since he came back from the, the wrist injury that he suffered during the summer. He's. He's raised well. You know, we finished, what, fourth or fifth at the Malaysia race. [01:21:26] Speaker A: So Clarence boys have to put up. [01:21:29] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. I mean, and I don't think they got the car. I think the Red Bull car is better. I think it's had the. It's had the best internal combustion engine the whole year. That's why they couldn't do any upgrades. It was just some of the electrical stuff. But I think they figured out a lot of the arrow things and, and different parts of the car. But, you know, the Red Bull, you know, powertrain with the Ford and everything, has been a strong contender that's going to really compete against Mercedes. And so Ferrari may hold them off, but I think Red Bull takes number three. But Lou. But Verstappen's probably becoming after second in the driver standings at this point too, because he's eight points behind Lewis for third in the drivers and then only, you know, 20 something behind George. He's not gonna pass Kimi. But, you know, you start looking into next year right now, you know, Max is going to be right there with the Mercedes guys for the World Championship in 2027. So, I mean, there, there's a lot to be said for what for Red Bulls be able to do, and it's really impressive. [01:22:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. We'll see how Verstappen does down the stretch. Can make it at least interesting for second, third, fourth, and especially the constructors. [01:22:29] Speaker B: I think he's. I think he's definitely gonna get second. He's only, he's only 19, 18 back. I mean, Russell and the power unit, we know that's going to fail at least one more time. I'd bet money on that. And Hamilton, he can't get good tires, good communication. So he's going to fall behind there. [01:22:45] Speaker A: He's not happy. [01:22:48] Speaker C: Yeah, you could Say Singapore had been Max's track, that he was the only track he hadn't won at and really hadn't had, like a really stressful run. The guy sweeps the entire weekend. Now he's going to a bunch of tracks that he's dominated before in the past. Like it doesn't look good for the last year right now. [01:23:03] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. Switching over to baseball, basically everyone wrapped up. The last time we talked baseball, daughters moved on, Ray's moved on. When we were recording the pod, the brewers ended up taking care of business as well. So we're just waiting for one series in the ALDS. Jason's White Sox up 2 0. He was feeling pretty good, excited for his wife to join him in Chicago and family to catch game three and four, the all blackout game. I forgot what the other game was called. [01:23:32] Speaker B: It was an all white. Was there an all whiteout one game? [01:23:35] Speaker A: Was it all white out? [01:23:36] Speaker C: Nah, both games are blackouts. [01:23:38] Speaker B: Okay. Well, they didn't want to follow the Penn State losing tradition, but all it [01:23:42] Speaker A: was was a all crap out game because the guardians, they got some of that Disney Magic Angels in the outfield. Some guardians swept down and gave us some magic because they took care of business. Chicago, much the dismay of of Jason every other Chicago Southie. I read to so many people that were big White Sox fan. Like totally bummed this weekend. It was really crazy. A lot of Chicago guys up here, but game five, anything could happen. And 22 strikeouts is what happened. And 20, 21. [01:24:17] Speaker B: My bad, Jack. Blackjack. [01:24:19] Speaker A: Room blackjack. Tough way to go out. I thought White Sox had a great season, but that's a tough way to go out. How do you feel, Jason? How's everything going on in the Zinky household? [01:24:31] Speaker C: It's terrible. Rome. I mean, we, we started this at the beginning of whatever pod we're talking about. Yeah, it was rough. It's. I'm a couple days past it now. If we would have recorded this Saturday night, wouldn't have been feel good. Not only did the White Sox strike out 21 times, but they lost because of a two run homer that never should have been swung at from White Sox killer Jose Ramirez. He basically hit a home run from like an inch, you know, an inch off the plate. That was crazy. You know, that should have never been swung at. And I was just like, you know, if I don't. I'm sure you get this. As a Dodgers fan, I don't know who the hitter is. Rome, but anytime Jose Ramirez, for me, as a White Sox fan, steps to the plate. The guy's gonna hit a home run. I just, like, I just. Just. No doubt about that. He's going to do it. And in that moment, I'm just like, I just. I don't feel good about this. You know, Quan got on first. He's gonna get a home run. And Burke pitched extraordinarily well and literally throws a ball that's like, you shouldn't be swinging at at all, and he hits it over the fence. And it was. It was just crazy. Yeah. There's no words to describe it. The White Sox bats did not show up. The pitching was always going to be a question mark for them in the series. It's. It's a extremely disappointing ending to what is a great season for them in considering the turnaround of, you know, 20 plus wins more. The team had lost over 100 games three seasons in a row. And to be in this position that you're, you know, one game away from the alcs, I mean, if you'd have told me that beginning of the season, I would have been. I would have taken it. But at the same time, when you're up 2.0in the LDS and you have all the things kind of going your way heading back home, you expect just a little more. And it's a really disappointing way to the end of the season. And I don't think you could take this stuff for granted, too, as a White Sox fan. We don't have a lot of, you know, we don't have a lot of playoff. Playoff runs that I can talk about. The O5 run is really, you know, the one I get to talk about. And then winning the World Series. And then I got to talk about, you know, the 20, 21 ALDS that they lost on, the one game they won versus the Astros. And then you, you know, you go back to 2000, there was a solid play out. You know, they got to the playoffs, and then the 93 run to the ALCS versus the Blue Jays. I mean, these are like the four or five times in my life that I've got to experience, like, postseason baseball on the south side. The atmosphere absolutely delivers. You know, the Blackout game, everything about it, everything. The indie, you know, the Guardians players were saying were, you know, this was a, you know, a crazy place to play and everything about it. So the passion of the fan base is there. They just need to deliver a winner. But I don't take it for granted because a lot of things with the White Sox away this year, the division, not great. You know, they're able to, you know, be in the, in the, in the wild card at 85, 86 wins, whatever. They had one game back of the division. The Tigers will probably be better next year. Maybe the Twins get something, you know, there too. So you don't, you don't take what's for granted. And the White Sox seem to make improvements. And as fun, as fun as this team was, like, that was the best thing about watching this team is like, they're a scrappy, underdog team. They're just a bunch of dudes. Like, they're like best friends. I mean, they, they're making quotes basically, like, good chemistry. Yeah, it was great courtesy. They were like, hey, I got like a lot of times you just come up with guys for the, the majors and like in the minors to the majors, and you feel like you're, you know, you're growing together where, you know, a couple of these guys made comments based like, this is like, I got to start a baseball team with my best friends. And so I think they just had a chemistry that's going to change. It's going to be different, you know, and that's what I hope at least that they go out and add some pieces around the young core that they do have, because I think the worst thing they can do is kind of stand pat and expect this to get better. There is a lot of things to improve in the offseason, but yeah, sucked in the moment I felt they were going to go through. They had everything about it. But Cleveland's just a big boogeyman. I'll give a shout out. I had a great time in Cleveland. The fans were nice in person, everything there. But I will take issue with the admin that runs the Cleveland Guardians account. Just talking crap to the White Sox after winning. Yeah, I didn't like that at all. So I heavily rooting against the Guardians in the alcs. I know we're taping and they won game one, blah, blah, blah. But you know, I, I am irritated with all of the Guardian entourage right now with their guards ball or whatever BS they're talking through. [01:28:39] Speaker A: I thought Tampa would take game one. I, I, I didn't catch it. I was so sucked into the Bills Rams game. [01:28:46] Speaker B: I thought you were still crying about the Dodgers getting their ass kicked again. Rome, you know, he only wants to [01:28:51] Speaker C: talk about my tears there. He just wants to talk about mine. [01:28:53] Speaker A: Yeah, you know, I'm not worried yet. [01:28:56] Speaker B: Got glasses on. He's got, he's got, he's crying under there. He's got those puffy eyes and stuff, you know. [01:29:01] Speaker A: You know, I'm just channeling my inner Mike. Dick Iron Mike, you know, not letting anything phase me. Yeah, no, yeah. You know, it was a good game. I'll surprise. Yoshi was due for a game like this. What, they took him like out and what, in the third inning or early fourth? [01:29:19] Speaker B: Three and two thirds, I think he went. [01:29:20] Speaker A: Not great, but he was probably. Dude, he's done a phenomenal job for like, what, 10 or 12 starts. Hell of a run. I'm pretty sure he'll come back. What, game five. Probably assuming this is game five, six, seven. I think it's going to go seven games. I'm hoping so. But ghetto to the Brewers. Man, they worked our pitchers. First two games showed a lot of fight. They don't look like the same brewers as last year. When we talked beginning of the season, when we did our preseason preview, halfway through the season, I did pick the brewers to make it to the World Series. I just was buying everything that they have. They have great chemistry. Any team that I see has great chemistry. Just like the Dodgers. I'm gonna buy into it. So I like the White Sox long term. Brewers, I like them as well. It's gonna be a dog fight, man. We'll see how the rest of the aces come out. For the Dodgers. Down 02. I can't remember the last time they're down 02. We've had a lot of heartbreaks in the playoffs. [01:30:17] Speaker B: The Diamondbacks, right? Yeah. Back swept them a couple years ago. The divisional Series. Yeah. [01:30:24] Speaker A: The dimebags that when they got hot for two weeks and to win a world. It was disgusting. I. I don't like teams like that either. That's why I don't credit any of the Giants World Series championships. You just can't win for two weeks and all of a sudden get a championship. Get the out of here. Right. [01:30:37] Speaker C: They won three World Series in like five years, dude. I mean, I know it would go against you. I think the brewers would be a great story. I think they've been, you know, them and the in the Rays have been just cons. Some of the most consistent. [01:30:53] Speaker A: They've been the most this year. [01:30:55] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, this year. But I think for the past like decade, they're two organizations that don't have the financial means of the Dodgers. I think they. They really, you know, draft, develop, sign the right guys every which way. You know, the Brewers, I don't know how many division titles they've won from the Central where, you know, they're competing against a Cubs team that's got, you know, resources. A Cardinal team that got all the legacy. The brewers are one of the few teams that's never won a World Series, which is kind of crazy considering, like, history in the game and the players that they've had, but, you know, never winning a World Series and they've had this long, sustained success right now. I do think they got what it takes, you know, to, you know, you pick the Dodgers in the middle, or, I'm sorry, you picked the brewers in the middle of the season. I mean, I was feeling really good about the brewers throughout the year, but, I mean, they. They just don't have the resources, man. So you go deep into this, you know, you know, fourth, third and fourth start starter right now, we'll see with the Dodgers. But, I mean, I like this brewers team, and I. I think a. A Brewers raise World Series will definitely not light the ratings bucket on fire, but I think reward two franchises that really know how to, you know, develop and, you know, do things from a, like, baseball perspective that isn't just about being a cash cow, I think. [01:32:05] Speaker A: Well, dollars are not a cash cow. Like, we built that thing up, dude, and we poached half of the Tampa Bay front office to make that happen. You know, a lot of analytics. So, you know, let's not. [01:32:14] Speaker C: I. I agree. I. I will say the Dodgers do all the things Tampa does, right? But then they get the ultimate advantage of, like, they can buy off any mistakes. [01:32:24] Speaker B: Dodgers have a blank check, and you just write a number. But look, they do like, they're. They're scouting department. Everything the Dodgers do is right, is good. I think we talked about that before. Look, if it does go to a salary cap, the Dodgers will be fine because they're well ran and they have a good scouting department, good farm system, one of the best. And that's why they can make trades for, you know, key players like school ball and whatnot. You know, look, you guys are already counting, basically, Ray's Brewers World Series. I mean, look, the Guardians got a nice win here. They were down 20 in the first inning, got a nice win, 73 with a rally there to get the victory. Maybe Tampa was a little bit rusty. They were talking about that they hadn't played in a few days after sweeping. Yeah, the Yankees. So we'll see. That's a long series, but I think for the Dodgers right now, what has helped them win these last couple World Series, you know, we touched on it before Jason got on Rome was Otani, right. The OR of Otani. It's gone. It's not there. He's hurt. You could tell by the way he's playing. So now, as a team, in the lineup, you know, you see it. I mean, you can't hide it. Everyone can see it. If you watch the game of baseball, and it's not there. So he's a guy, and that's not to say, like I said, he can't. It might be a game where maybe hits a home run or gets a few hits, he could still do that. But the threat of him being that. That savior or that guy that can just do something out of the ordinary that, you know, Jason touched on, you know, Ramirez hitting a home run like Ohtani, you just always felt like, oh, dude, it's eighth inning, he's going to get on base, he's going to drive in a run. Dodgers right now just don't have that. Now you got Blake Snell, you know, did not look good against Atlanta in his debut. Glass now we'll see how they do. Brewers kind of towards the back end of their rotations, not that great, but their bullpen's been doing really well. And the brewers got a lot of young players. I mean, they, they've been in the postseason nine in the last 10 years under the Christian Yellich era. Yeah, they're. They, they're well managed. They hustle, they do all the smart things, right. They bunt, they steal, they get guys over. The Dodgers are the oldest team in baseball. Say what you want, it is tough to repeat in any sport. And maybe even the Dodgers age and injuries. So they're still star. Otani are catching up, and the brewers are maybe catching lightning in a bottle and gonna advance. We'll see. [01:34:37] Speaker A: I mean, two things that the Dodgers have going for them. I'll go ahead. Jason. [01:34:41] Speaker C: No, I was gonna say, like, the, The Otani conversation is this is the competitive advantage of the, of the Dodgers room. Is that you. You all the scouting and everything like that? Dodgers well, run. But they're talking about benching Ohtani in the, in the NLCS right now. [01:34:55] Speaker A: Because they should actually. [01:34:56] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, that's the conversation like no one else would be talking about. They have enough depth that they've been able to buy and everything like that. It's like, hey, we have a generational player that's hurt and isn't performing right now. Great. We can sit him down because we know we got other MVPs in the lineup that can do that, and we can bring in one of our five, you know, tool prospects up and Elevate them is that's who they're talking about replacing him with, you know, Robert. Yeah, yeah. [01:35:22] Speaker B: Save them for my team next year, man. I got him. That's my guy, man. Save him. You don't need to be running the bases out there, getting hurt for a team in the playhouse that's going home. Come on, now, daughters. [01:35:32] Speaker A: Two things he got going for them and. And one thing against the Brewers. I think the brewers, they do make the World Series. They are going to be one of the teams that had the least amount of home runs ever to make it there. And no one has won a championship hitting as little home runs they have, but they are consistent 1 through 9. Dodgers bats were heating up at the end of the season last round as well. I still think that's always a possibility. You never know what guy can step up. Plus, the aces that the Dodgers have can still make this pretty tough, so we'll see if it's enough to overcome Ohtani and everything else. [01:36:04] Speaker B: The Dodgers? Yeah. I mean, Ohtani, like, it's sucked on, you know, Jason's talking about him pitching me. I agree. I mean, look, he'd be on the il this was the regular season. He would not even be playing. [01:36:15] Speaker A: They should arrest him last time. [01:36:16] Speaker B: Kyle Tucker's a guy. Shitty regular season, definitely not worth the 60 million he's getting per year, but he's been pretty good in these playoffs. Yeah, if they can get Freeman and Mookie, who was really hot, hasn't done anything in these playoffs, but he was really hot in September. He hit like nine home runs. 330 on. [01:36:32] Speaker A: I think he battled like 150 against the Braves. Not great, but. [01:36:36] Speaker B: Yeah, that's always kind of postseason baseball. That makes it tough because you're going to get the best pitchers because these are the best teams. Yeah. And most of them generally have really good defenses and elite bullpens. I mean, Dodgers have a good bullpen. Brewers have a good bullpen. So. And these guys are going to go out there and, you know, John Smalls mentions it like, dude, they're not. They're not saving themselves. They're going to give it everything they got for an inning, inning and a half, whatever, 30, 40 pitches. Because they know, like, hey, there's. There's. There's no. I don't got to save myself for another six outings coming up in the next month. So it's gonna be interesting. The Dodgers, we haven't seen them down too well. Like you mentioned, Roman, a long time. Game three. It's gonna be you know, Blake Snell, he was pitching well. That did not do good against Atlanta. What, five walks? I think 50 of his 90 pitches were balls in his last outing. But yeah, brewers have gotten clutch hitting. That's something they didn't do last year. Remember, they think, well, they scored eight runs over the four games combined. They got seven today and this game. [01:37:37] Speaker A: Yeah, I was impressed. I was surprised. It came at the right times. It was very Dodger esque. And if they continue doing that, we're in trouble. [01:37:49] Speaker B: Also, I think playing against him last year and losing, like all the pressure was like on the Brewers. Right now it's the opposite because now the Dodgers have to repeat. Ohtani's hurt. If you're the brewers, you're kind of sitting there like, hey, dude, we can get them. And the confidence goes a long ways. [01:38:07] Speaker A: Yeah, you're right. Last time they were down 02 was against Arizona Diamondbacks and they lost. Yeah. 3, 0, sweep. [01:38:15] Speaker B: That was, that was the famous. If you go to the videos where they're running over Kershaw's jersey in the [01:38:19] Speaker A: parking lot, I, I never saw those videos. [01:38:22] Speaker B: I'll send them to you when they get eliminated. Rome. I, I got it saved on my phone. [01:38:29] Speaker A: Well, good luck winning one more World Series than the rest of your life with the Braves. [01:38:34] Speaker B: I'll definitely will. Rome. [01:38:36] Speaker A: All right. [01:38:37] Speaker B: If I live to my expected life expectancy. [01:38:40] Speaker C: Ro. [01:38:40] Speaker B: Yeah, which I'm hoping. I'm hoping. [01:38:41] Speaker A: All right. We'll see what happens, though, in these championship rounds for baseball. Any other comments? [01:38:52] Speaker C: I, I just kept foreshadowing, not if we're looking at the, the actual results of the playoffs going forward, but I think the looming thing about baseball is going to be 20, 27. Are we going to have a season? If we do have a season, is it going to be shortened? Things like that. Interesting tests right now, when you have the Dodgers are everything the owners want to be talking about, you know, as far as the salary cap and what they're pushing for. And then we got these three other teams right now that are, you know, but 20 or 20 to 30 somewhere, all the range and when it comes to, you know, salaries. So it'd be interesting on what kind of transpires if the Dodgers do get kicked out and we have a small market World Series where things are at. But also, I will say just the overall momentum of baseball. I think a lot of questioning going into next year. We'll have all off season to talk about. This is going to be like, baseball's been in a really good Spot the past like couple years they've made some rules changes like tweaking like baseball's, you know, very, you know, very hot right now, where it wasn't for a kind of a long time. How much are the owners willing to risk pushing for the salary cap that's going to hurt, you know, the momentum of the game and what this stuff is truly valued at. And there's other things to consider as, as far as like the TV contracts and everything else that they need that they're going to be holding to next year. You know, what's the actual cutting off point that they're going to be willing to risk games that risk like ultimate future of the game. So I'm, I'm very interested in like does, you know, the World Series and everything probably has little to do with it. But what's going to be the public negotiating tactics and which sides are going to begin bending out ultimately is going to be baseball, you know, 20, 27 and beyond. [01:40:28] Speaker A: Well, the whole salary thing, it's that that argument has lost so much steam with the playoffs. You have so many teams that are in the bottom half of major league baseball, you know, having deep playoff runs. This is definitely about valuation, team valuations and making money and seeing guys make money in the NBA and the NFL. That's what it comes down to. But you're right, one thing I do think will happen, that they're going to shorten the schedule. I think that's going to go through. I think everyone's on board with that. They're gonna, you know, expand the playoffs. [01:41:00] Speaker B: That's on board with salary cap. That's one of the things they want a salary cap. [01:41:05] Speaker A: Well, with that shortened, all those things are on the board. But you know, that, that looks like something that's definitely gonna be pushed with a lot of other things that they got. There seems to be consensus on both sides. That's what I'm saying. [01:41:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I don't like the idea of going to the divisional round from five to seven games. [01:41:22] Speaker A: I actually like it at five. [01:41:24] Speaker B: I think it brings a little more intrigue to it. I don't just like the NBA playoffs. They should get rid of best of seven in the first round, go back to best of five. [01:41:31] Speaker A: I think. [01:41:32] Speaker B: I don't know why they have that crap where you get a lot of sweeps. So I like baseball to keep it at 5. I think they also propose like division winners get to pick their opponent or wild card. [01:41:42] Speaker A: I'm not sure if I like that or not. I'm not sure. If I like that. [01:41:44] Speaker B: I kind of, I would be kind of scared if I'm a team picking an opponent. Right. Isn't that kind of bulletin board material? Like, oh, you want to play us? I, I don't like that either. [01:41:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't know, is like if you're, if you're kicking, you know, ass all year and then all of a sudden like you're still stuck in the wild card, you gotta beat play a team that you already played all year round and you gotta, you know, all of a sudden now you gotta prove yourself again in a five game series. That's kind of, you've been doing it all year round. I think that's more what's about. [01:42:11] Speaker C: I don't think they need to be doing this I pick your opponent crap, but they, they need to get rid of some of the divisions that they do have and whether they go to two divisions per league and they can have a certain amount of, and to figure out what to balance the schedule A. Because they play so many games within these like, you know, small divisions right now. I think there's, you know, and eventually baseball coming out of this negotiation is going to be talking about expansion. They're going to go to 32 teams. You know, at a certain point once they figure out like all this stuff, you know, with the, with the cap or whatever the collective bargaining agreement is going to be. And so you're talking about the 32, like the NFL, like hockey. And then what does it look if you have 16 and 16 in each league? What are, you know, do you have two eight team divisions and, and different stuff like that? I think, think, I think for baseball you got to figure out a way to balance the schedule a little more. Because I think that's the other part of it too is like you play such an imbalanced schedule on, you know, for your division versus, you know, outside the division and that's where you get some of these, you know, wild records that are there too. So I think there's a, there's a lot that they can do to improve that stuff. But I think it's going to come down to the financials. I think Rome, you're right to a degree as far as this, this, this proves like you don't need money too. But at the end of the day, we said in the last podcast, you know, big money teams win the World Series. This is going to be an outlier year when it comes to who's competing for it. You know, ultimately, how do you get some of these like bottom feeder teams to be able to be more competitive and spend money. You know, it's a little bit on the owners and obviously there's a lot in it for them. But there's a lot of owners out there in teams that do have no hope, like the Pirates whose owner is cheap and you know, they need the salary floor to go with salary cap to spend some of this money and equity things. So I don't know. Regardless, I think hopefully there's some positives on it that you know, keeps the momentum of the game going forward and to so that we're not like killing baseball off. Really? [01:43:57] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I, I don't think we'll miss too much but we'll see how it goes. We ran this pre big segment so we'll wrap it up right now. Final comments to wrap up the weekend.
