[00:00:05] Speaker A: So here we are, week eight already. Can you believe it, guys? Week eight in the NFL. Week nine in college football. Today's Thursday, so what are we doing? Nothing but lines and also covering little World Series baseball. So let's get this show on the road. First. Let's start off with the Thursday Night Football game. We had the Vikings, which were ranked number two, I believe on my power rankings from last week, going against the Los Angeles Rams. I'm not sure when they had the news come out that Puka and Cup were coming back, but once I heard that, I figured that was kind of bad news because the only thing that Stafford's been missing is weapons to kind of get that team rolling. And they've already had a few upsets. Not great by any stretch of the imagination of the Rams, but people still like them. You know, you got other herd still jacking them up every single week. You know, you got other guys on X jacking them up. And so Vikings came out hot, startled, looked hot, and then all of a sudden, you know, we're tied. Tied 14. There's a face mask penalty that ended up being a safety at the end of the game that did not get called. What are you guys thoughts on tonight's game? I guess we'll go with Aaron. [00:01:26] Speaker B: Yeah, Rome, like you mentioned, Cooper Cup, Puka Nakua coming back. Cup was expected back. You know, he was close last week. They kind of held him out given they didn't want to play him back to back on a short week given the game coming up here on Thursday night. Puka was a surprise. McVay and the Rams held that one close to the vest. Didn't expect to see him back for a week, maybe two weeks. So he came out, had a good game. I think he was over 100 yards or right about out that Stafford was definitely looking for him to get him involved. Cooper cup possibly had a touchdown too, and a big 27 yard completion down the sidelines there. That led to some points and a PI that led to some more points for the Rams. But yeah, man, Minnesota came out strong. Scored on their first two drives, touchdowns, didn't get in the end zone again. Had a few drives where they made some plays and then, you know, Darnold hit a guy right there in his hands there to get a first and goal dropped. It had to settle for a field goal. Give the Rams credit defense. Once Minnesota lost, they're all pro left tackle. You know, Darnold was under pressure the whole second half, just didn't have time to make the throws Running game wasn't that great. You know they hit a few burns here and there but big win for the Rams considering, you know, possible yard sale going on if they would have lost this game. Now you go to 3 and 4 mini bye week. They go to Seattle their next game the right in the mix with the division and like you said Rome. A lot of people on Twitter that were on the Rams jocker right back on there slobbering up on an off again. [00:02:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I didn't really buy all those rumors of them, you know shopping Cooper cup and Stafford, you know, cup possibly. Right. A lot of people need wide receivers. My Steelers, the Chiefs. We can talk about the Chiefs later, later on. But to give away Stafford, I wasn't really buying it. Especially when they're only a game out really in such like a division that's, you know, hammered with injuries all of a sudden. [00:03:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Very winnable division. We talked about how tight it was but now you got was it three teams at three and four and then one team at four and three so then striking distance at all of the pundits you're talking about that are tight or high. They're high in the Rams I think is all just for the coaching with McVeigh knowing this team's going to be well prepared, you know, offensively have a good game plan now you're getting their top receivers healthy. You know, Stafford looked really good today. Four touchdowns. Yeah, I don't know if I bought the fire sale either. It could have been there. Although I did. I did ask Aaron I think in the last pod regarding the sources around Cooper cup and probably right after it was posted they were talking about him going to Roman, Rome's favorite team in the Chiefs but deal didn't work out, thank God. [00:04:09] Speaker B: I still think they will move cup though. [00:04:11] Speaker A: Really? [00:04:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:12] Speaker A: Do you have any predictions on where he might go? [00:04:17] Speaker B: There's a few teams obviously I think the Chiefs around now that they Sand Lane DeAndre Hopkins. But I think a team that's going to get in the mix that we're not talking about, look for Washington, look for the commanders. They could use another wide receiver of Jaden Daniels. [00:04:29] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:04:29] Speaker B: The NFC is open and I think that'd be a good fit for them. [00:04:37] Speaker C: It's interesting. Could be a hot take there. They're really going to need it when they lose to the Bears this week so. [00:04:44] Speaker A: I agree with that one too, man. Oh, already, huh? [00:04:48] Speaker B: No Jaden Daniels. I can't take the commanders this week. [00:04:52] Speaker A: But Mariota looks kind of good though. He looked Good last week. [00:04:56] Speaker B: Everybody looks good against the Panthers, my friend. [00:04:58] Speaker A: Almost everybody. Yeah, you're right. I guess so. All right, so let's get this show on the road. Then let's move on to NFL lines. Week eight. We're going to be going off of BetMGM, hoping to, you know, hype them up a little bit. Maybe we can get like a partnership in the future. So we'll go with their lines for here on out. Uh, let's start with. On the top of my list, we got Eagles visiting the Bengals. Bengals slight favorites, minus two and a half. And you know what? This week, just the lines overall, not like the first half of the season where we have like these 1 1/2, 2 point spreads. We got some deep ones this week over under 48. Who you guys got? [00:05:51] Speaker C: Yeah, you're right on this one as far as or this week overall with some really big spreads, but then also a lot of stuff at around that 2 1/2 field goal mark or 2. But I like the Bengals this week. I like them minus two and a half. I'll put this at one of my five games for entertainment purposes only, as Aaron mentioned, I think in the last pod. So Bengals need to come out, they need to stay competitive within this division. Right Now, Ravens, was that top on Rome's top five list? I think we crowned it. Was the Ravens your top or was it Lions? I don't know. [00:06:24] Speaker A: Top two? Lions are number one. Yeah. Yeah. [00:06:26] Speaker C: Okay. Well, I mean, you got your Steelers, you got, you got the Ravens looking good. Bengals got to keep winning. They, they, they bet they're on a little bit of a streak. 0 and 3 at home this year so far. So I really think they're going to come out strong for their fans this week. I like, I like the Bengals. [00:06:44] Speaker B: Agree. I like the Bengals, too. I would put this in my top 5 picks as well. Bengals need to get this win. 03 Jason mentioned at home. Eagles, I don't really buy into them. They've beaten on bad teams. Browns, Giants, now you get Higgins, you get Jamar Chase out there, Joe Burrow. These guys get their first home win and they'll cover here. Bengals minus two and a half. [00:07:06] Speaker A: Bengals cover. You want to go with the COVID as well? [00:07:09] Speaker B: Yes, sir. [00:07:10] Speaker A: I was kind of thinking like if we picked like the winner, then also do like the, like, like the odds should do like a separate category, like bonus points or something like that. It's like two wins in one, right? [00:07:20] Speaker C: Well, I'm giving you my five. Entertainment purposes only is always with the Is always with the spread. So you know. You know. So it's, it's always the spread. [00:07:27] Speaker A: Okay, got it. So Bengals with the spread with the points. Cool. I'm going with Bengals as well. They're just due for a home win, I think. Aaron, you said a few weeks ago all home games are must wins. Next game, Ravens versus the Browns. Ravens 10 a half point favorites on the road, hence the lowly Browns 42 and a half. I don't know. Do you guys expect James Winston to make this a game? Like is this going to be like Jameson from the Bucks? [00:08:00] Speaker C: I see this down to. I see this down to eight and a half right now. [00:08:04] Speaker B: I got eight and a half at circa and nine at Westgate on the lines I was given. So yeah, the lines come down a bit. [00:08:10] Speaker C: Yeah, I see. Bet MGM right now -8 and a half. So this is the second one for me. For top five entertainment purposes only. I like the Ravens -8 and a half in this. The Browns pretty much given out the season. I think Jamis is going to. He'll have some big touchdown passes, but there's going to be some big interceptions or turnovers in this game from the Browns offense as well. Ravens big in this one, cover the eight and a half. [00:08:37] Speaker B: Yeah, I agree again here too. I would put this in my top five. Ravens. Ravens are rolling. Cooper's gone. Browns, Jameis Winston. You don't know what you're going to get from him. Yeah, you might. You know, it's feast for phantom. You know, he might give you a touchdown, but he's going to give you three picks. Ravens, the team's hot unless they just come out late flat, which I don't think so. Right now they're playing the best football. I think if any team in the afc, they'll cover the eight and a half and win by double figures here. [00:09:04] Speaker A: Sweet. Ravens look phenomenal. I just don't see them slowing down. Brown's defense has looked pretty suspect lately. Got injuries. They got a lot of drama going on. So agree with you guys. Next game, Panthers versus Broncos. Broncos favored by seven, the 42 and a half over under. [00:09:24] Speaker B: You're jumping to the 1 o'clock games now, huh? [00:09:27] Speaker A: Well, that's what I was asking, you know, is is this an order or not? [00:09:30] Speaker C: Oh, no, I bet MGM. I see the Broncos minus 10 right now. Spread seems way too big for me. I'd stay away from this game if I'm picking just a straight winner. Broncos win this game. Panthers are just that bad. I think Bryce Young is starting Right now, Aaron, I think you confirmed that for me. I thought I saw Bryce was starting. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Cause Bryce Young. Bryce Young. So that's not a car wreck. [00:09:52] Speaker C: Minor car wreck. So. But yeah, I'd stay away from the spread, though, because I think these are. I. I don't know what to think in there, but the Broncos have been, you know, they showed up in these games all year, but 10's a lot for a Broncos offense. That's kind of hit or miss some weeks. [00:10:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I'd stay away from the spread, too. If I was playing the spread, I'd take the Broncos. You know, Carolina can't stop anybody. Kind of 10 days to prepare for him. You know, Bryce Young. This is a good Denver defense. I think they're ranking the top five as far as, you know, yardage and points against them. So. Bryce Young hasn't shown anything in the two games that he did play against the Saints and Chargers. Now he's on the road, mile high against an elite defense. Bo. Nick. Sean Payton. Broncos. Broncos win this one. [00:10:37] Speaker A: I'm on MGM as well. I don't know how you're getting different lines than. I am getting kind of confused here. [00:10:44] Speaker B: We'll. We'll let Jason read out the lines when you read out the game then. [00:10:50] Speaker A: So what? [00:10:51] Speaker B: He's a man of the inside. He's the man on the inside info going like 13, 1 and 1 over the last three months. [00:10:56] Speaker A: I'm online right now. I'm just like, where are you getting this from? This supposed to be fresh. Fresh with the press. [00:11:00] Speaker C: 12, 12, 1 and 2, Aaron. But we can't verify because Rome doesn't know how to keep track of my entertainment purposes only, so. [00:11:07] Speaker A: So I even listened to the last pod. I said, I. I need you guys to confirm the picks after the show and. [00:11:12] Speaker C: No, that's why I'm, I'm saying game one and game two right now of entertainment purposes only. So we're very clear. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I got. I got it written down. Pick. Pick. Wait, both of you guys had the Ravens as your second one? [00:11:23] Speaker C: Yes. [00:11:26] Speaker A: I definitely didn't type that out. Well, now I'm back on, you know. [00:11:32] Speaker C: Really is going, oh, 2 and O. Or 02. If Aaron and I have not conversed before this, and we're already agreeing on the same game, so. [00:11:39] Speaker B: Well, we've had a few games. I think that we've. We've hit on Bengals being one of them last week at five and a half, so. [00:11:50] Speaker A: Okay, now I got the order. AM games and PM games. I was on the website, but now I'm on. On an Arizona subsite, so I see the eight and a half. You know what? I'm going to change things up because, yeah, I see the order now. All right, let's do Cardinals at the Dolphins. Dolphins are favored by four and a half over unders 46. We have that's his name, Tua coming back. And Tyreek Hill is pretty excited telling all the fantasy owners to put him back in their lineup. Who do you guys got on this one? [00:12:30] Speaker C: Not going to say this is one of my top five. If picking a winner, I'll say the Dolphins will win with Tua back. But I think it's going to be a tight game. Dolphins really need this one, but I'd be staying away from the four and a half. [00:12:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm taking the Dolphins to win. They should win this one straight up. No side for me on this play. Arizona coming off a, you know, physical battle Monday night, now traveling all the way to Miami to a back. The excitement of getting him back in the lineup and the. The ability to make plays on that offense, something that's been lacking all year, I think is going to be a motivator and a. Something that the Dolphins used to go forward and get this win. Tough game, though. [00:13:12] Speaker A: I think it is a tough game. This is a stay away for me. Not a fan of this one, Jason. And you had the Dolphins. [00:13:21] Speaker C: I'll pick the Dolphins, but not for entertainment purposes only. [00:13:25] Speaker A: Yeah, got it. You guys are hilarious. Falcons at the Bucks. Falcons favored. So did they just play a few weeks ago? So minus two and a half for the Falcons. [00:13:38] Speaker B: That's a game. You slept through Rome. That is the game. [00:13:41] Speaker A: I woke up. [00:13:42] Speaker B: You woke up face down with your fucking ass up in the carpet there. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that was a sleep game for me. [00:13:51] Speaker C: Yeah, one of the. One of the best games of the year so far to me, I feel like I'm coming into a trap going with this at minus two and a half. I like the Falcons, Buccaneers losing their two top wide receivers right now. We're going to have, you know, Trey Palmer and, you know, a few other Sterling, Sterling Shepherds, you know, out there wide for Baker Mayfield. This has got to be a Falcons win. They need to take control of the division. This one. Falcons two and a half. We'll put this in my third game. Entertainment purposes only. [00:14:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not going to put this in my top five. I agree. I mean, Falcons two and a half just looks juicy, you know, but maybe it's undercooked. I don't know. We're going to see Tampa hasn't shown me anything on defense that they should be able to stop Atlanta and given that they just lost their two best wide outs spells trouble for the bucks but the Falcons too defensively are not very good. They miss a lot of tackles. Tampa got that running game going. Could be a trap like Jason said I would take Atlanta to win this one though. [00:14:54] Speaker A: Nice. I'll have to come back to this one but you gotta imagine Falcon's gotta be favored for the reasons you guys mentioned. Packers four point favorites against the Jags 49 and a half. [00:15:14] Speaker C: Aaron, I don't know about you on this one. I kept looking at this spread I don't understand minus four for the Packers. Something seems weird right now. I immediately say packers win this game but and then the Jaguars flying back from London after two weeks there in Jacksonville I'm saying the packers win. I'm not taking it minus four because this is even a more fishy line than that than the Falcons Buccaneers line to me I agree. [00:15:40] Speaker B: I see minus four they're in Jacksonville. The only thing I could think of maybe the the people, the wise guys think that Rogers is still on the team like you know he could never win in the state of Florida in the regular season but with love Jacksonville. I think Jacksonville gets back to their old ways and turns the ball over and just make stupid mistakes and the packers are going to win by seven, eight, nine points. I'm not ready to put the packers in my top five. I may do an adjustment later on but yeah packers, packers on the side here and the play I believe yeah. [00:16:11] Speaker A: It'S a really interesting line High scoring as well from a Jaguar team hasn't been able to score all that consistently man this kind of feels like a trap game like. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Oh it does. [00:16:22] Speaker A: What do they think this like it's dangerous man. I'm gonna stay away from it for now depending on who comes back, who's injured, whatever. I know package they got Salah now on the sidelines. Pretty interesting. That's kind of like a nice fu to the Jets. [00:16:41] Speaker B: I think Salah is worth at least half a point so it should be four and a half for sure. [00:16:44] Speaker A: Yeah maybe so. Pretty interesting though. That's. That's pretty wild. Colts and Texans. Texans are five point favorites. I've been at the justice man the hell is I looking at that JM Grant 45 and a half yeah I. [00:17:02] Speaker C: Like Aaron's texans in this 1 minus 5 this will be my fourth game that I'm picking Rome Colts been a very Very weird team all week or all year. Excuse me. I don't think they're as good with Anthony Richardson under quarterback right now compared versus Joe Flacco. And I think the Texans really put it. Put it on him in this game. [00:17:25] Speaker B: Yeah. Give me the Texans. They. They'll beat the Colts. Colts. Like, you know, Jason mentioned Anthony Richardson's inconsistent. Texans beat them in the opener. That was a close 129, 27 Texans. I would take them here, minus five. None of my top five picks. But yeah, Texans should cover here and they'll win outright at home. [00:17:48] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm kind of tempted to put this as a upset potentially just because first game was so close. But Texans are coming off. They lost last week, right? Yeah. So that's tough, man. Kind of contemplating the upset here, but next game, jets at the Patriots. [00:18:12] Speaker C: I'm getting all my picks out early in the morning Rome. So I'm taking the jets minus seven on this one. Aaron Rodgers, Devonta Adams. They're going to get a full week, you know, in preparation after the dud they had this last Sunday. Patriots I think they've given. They've lost by more than like 10 to 15 points, if not more in their last like five games. That team's not there. I think, I think the jets win big on this one. [00:18:40] Speaker B: Agree. This is the season for the Jets. This is make or break right here. Put the jets in. This would be my number three and top five. Jets minus seven. They blew these guys out. Week three on a Thursday night. That's the last victory for the Jets. The jets have gotten better as far as personnel. They get Reddick now on the defensive line. This is it. This is it for the Jets. This is their season. They need something going forward with the Texans coming in on a short week on a Thursday, they need this win. Jets by double figures. [00:19:07] Speaker A: Oh, so you're doing with the points. Nice. Great. You guys, this is Durotai. But Pat. So man, Drake May. He looks legit, right? [00:19:16] Speaker B: Not bad. [00:19:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Unfortunately they don't have a coach, so. Eagles at the Bengals. [00:19:25] Speaker B: We did that one already, buddy. [00:19:26] Speaker A: We did that already, huh? Yeah, that's right. [00:19:27] Speaker B: Yeah, he started the show with that one. [00:19:29] Speaker A: That's right. Yeah. Because he was out of order. [00:19:32] Speaker C: Yeah, he was on the offshore bet like MMG site or something like that. [00:19:38] Speaker B: He got that. He got that special pop up link. [00:19:40] Speaker A: Yes. [00:19:41] Speaker B: Buy one, buy one, get one free blue shoe, buddy. [00:19:44] Speaker A: You know an article. [00:19:46] Speaker C: Yeah, the podcast is about to go down right now. Cause he clicked on the link and his computer got Infected with a virus or something. [00:19:53] Speaker A: You guys are assholes, fan. Titans at Lions. Lions big time favorites. 11 and a half over under 45. [00:20:04] Speaker C: Lions win this game, but 11 and a half is way too many points for my liking to take them -11 and a half. But think the Lions win, go to six and one. First place in the NFC North. I assume we'll maintain number one in Rome's top five. Or is it? No, is it Week eight is going to be top eight this week, but I think. [00:20:23] Speaker A: I think I'm doing a week. I think I'm doing an eight this week. [00:20:26] Speaker C: All right, so then I'll project up, I'll predict their win and I predict them being number one in Rome's top eight rankings. Come to the Monday pod. [00:20:33] Speaker A: I love it. [00:20:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll take the Lions at home. Eleven and a half's a lot, you know. Williams going to be suspended for the next two games, but the Lions have plenty of weapons. Titans just traded away DeAndre Hopkins. Not like they were using them on offense anyways. Titans got a good defense, but there'll be no match for Detroit. Lions win, probably cover, but they'll go to 6 and 1 and be the top spot for sure in realms. Top five, top 20, whatever you want to call it now this is all top 20. [00:21:02] Speaker A: Dude, that's crazy. That's crazy talk. All right. Bills visiting the Seahawks. The two most northern teams in the country, I believe. See bill's favored by 3 over under 47. [00:21:22] Speaker C: Tricky game for me. I really like the Bills, but you got east coast and upstate New York flying all the way of the country to Seattle in a really tough place to play. Seattle's playing for something right now. First place in the NFC West. I like the Seahawks and the upset on this one. [00:21:43] Speaker B: Agree. This be my fourth pick. Give me the Seahawks plus three. They've lost two in a row at home to Danny Dimes and Barack Purdy. Josh Allen, what they got going on there, I love it. But Seattle needs this. When they can't afford to drop three, they got plenty of weapons to give the Bills defensive problems. Upset here. Seahawks win. Gimme plus three. Seattle. [00:22:06] Speaker A: Yeah, kind of great with you guys. I'm going to stay away. I'm rooting for the Bills. But Seahawks prime. They got a nice win last week. They kind of got some pieces back on both sides of the ball. Gino Smith, man. Kind of low key. Killing it on every statistical category. Having a pretty good year so far. It should be a fun game. Definitely a must watch in the afternoon. Did we cover Saints. Chargers. No, we didn't. Right. Saints. [00:22:36] Speaker C: We did not. [00:22:37] Speaker A: At the Chargers. Chargers favored by seven points. Forty and a half over. [00:22:46] Speaker C: Chargers win. I don't like that many points for it, but I think the Chargers still win. [00:22:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Chargers win this game. Bounce back at the 4 and 3. A lot of points for a team that hasn't done anything on offense. Didn't even get a touchdown on Monday night. Saints have left a lot to be desirable over their last five games, for sure. Coming off kind of what he called a mini bye week. Chargers win this game. [00:23:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:16] Speaker C: Yeah. It's assuming the Chargers. Assuming the Chargers do lose this or win this game and the Saints lose. I. I'll be curious. On Rome's, you know, hot seat coaches corner for five for Dennis Allen here at a certain point, if he loses six straight. [00:23:31] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. He was number one right when he started the season. Gotta imagine it's heating up. Chargers. By the way, I think Herbert finally had back to back games. 300 yards, Weir loss last week. I think they bounced back and we got to catch a Charger game down there in la. Be a lot of fun. Panthers, Broncos. [00:23:55] Speaker B: We did that one. We did that one. Next. Swipe left on it. Swipe lived on it. Swipe left on it. [00:24:03] Speaker A: You know, I don't have it on here. [00:24:07] Speaker B: We're all in agreeance. Broncos win. [00:24:10] Speaker A: Okay, cool. [00:24:12] Speaker B: Type it in. [00:24:13] Speaker A: I'm typing it, baby. I think that's when I was clicking over the pages while you guys were talking. I was like, what the hell's going on with these lines? And didn't make any sense. [00:24:24] Speaker C: Rome was looking at 2017's lines so weird. [00:24:29] Speaker A: Next up, we formula one in the background. [00:24:35] Speaker B: Apparently you guys heard that? [00:24:38] Speaker A: Yeah. Two bears at the commanders. Bears here by three over under 43. [00:24:50] Speaker C: Huge game. Kind of disappointing with Jayden Daniels not playing. This game was flexed into the, you know, 125 Pacific time slot to be a game of the week and potential showdown of, you know, that the. I guess the new Brady Manning rivalry for the NSC is probably what the NFL is hoping right now with the number one and number two's overall pick. But without Jaden playing like the Bears in this one. I already gave my top five, so I won't say the line lines, but I think the Bears win this one, going to need it because they're going to start getting a tougher schedule down the stretch. They still have all six NSC north games and the 49ers still on the docket, so there'll be a Big game for the Bears. [00:25:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I agree. This will be my number five pick. Give me the Bears minus the points. Jaden Daniels out. You know, Marcus Mariota looked pretty good against the Panthers, but this is a different animal. Bears best defense probably right now in the NFC going. Coming off a bye week, they're going to need this win given that the Vikings just came off a loss and the ability basically to get, you know, possible three four way tie for first in that division going forward. Give me the Bears minus the points. Disappointing. We won't see Jaden Daniels, but the Williams Daniels rivalry will be something to look forward to and possible, you know, playoffs later on this year. [00:26:09] Speaker A: Yeah, see out for sure. [00:26:11] Speaker B: I, I think he will be. My sources tell me he's not going to play. [00:26:14] Speaker A: Yeah, high sources. Wonderful. I might go with the commanders on the upset, but I'm not completely sold on it yet though. Bears defense is really good, so stay away for now. I'll probably update that on X on Sunday morning. Chiefs at the Raiders. Chiefs favored by nine. It's just lining up for the Chiefs to be fucking 7 0, isn't it? Unless Raiders can find that Christmas magic from last year. 41 and a half over under. [00:26:51] Speaker C: No Christmas magic. Seven and O chiefs. Rome's going to be complaining about some call that went the Chief's way this week. Regardless, Chiefs win this game. [00:27:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I agree. Chiefs go to 7 0. Rome's already hired a guy to watch Chiefs film and break down every call that the referees missed. That will be coming on segments here pretty soon, so look forward to that. But Chiefs get the 7 0. No magic in the Vegas Cards this weekend. [00:27:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm staying away from this, but I'm rooting for the Raiders. [00:27:29] Speaker C: Well, you gotta, you gotta give a pick. You can't just stay away and not make a pick here. What are we doing? [00:27:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm, I'm rooting for the Raiders to have like one of those weird, you know, comfort behind games. Pull out the upset menu finds that old magic. Who knows? The booger eater can probably do something this weekend, but. Yeah, dude, it's fucking bullshit. Chief. 7 0. Great Sunday night game. Cowboys visiting the 49ers. Cowboys Niners favored by four, 47 over under. [00:28:08] Speaker C: Interesting line. Is Debo playing or is he still dead? Aaron, do we know. [00:28:15] Speaker B: Right now? Debo Kittle, all those guys haven't been practicing in Jennings, so we'll see. Possible game time decisions. [00:28:25] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean this is very iffy to me going into the Sunday night game. If none of them are you know, Ayuk's done for the season. Debo doesn't play. You know, Kittle probably plays, I'm assuming, but I mean if Jennings your number one receiver, we're still going with Jordan Mason not looking great here for the 49ers from a health perspective, Debo's not playing. I think this is probably a Cowboys upset here at a certain point, but I'm going to pull a Roman say I'm going to stay away from it because I need, I need the injury report prior to the game here right now. [00:29:01] Speaker B: Yeah, the injury report is going to say it all for sure. I mean, four points given the 49ers history at home against the Cowboys is low. I mean they've beaten these guys basically by 20 points the last few years. Debo, his health coming off the pneumonia. That's going to be interesting to see the offensive lines banged up, I think. I don't believe Trent Williams is suspended or anything for that late punch against the Chiefs. Cowboys coming off a bye week and just a lot of negative talk. You know, Jerry Jones going on talk radio saying hey, you know we are calling stupid place and not executing and you know, Troy Aikman basically agreeing with them. Both teams need to win. You know, Dallas can't afford to go to 3 and 4 and the 49ers can't afford to go to 3 and 5. So it's an interesting game. I'll take the Niners at home but like I said, I gotta wait for the full injury report to come out before that one's official. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Yeah, I think everything that could have went wrong went wrong in the last game against the Chiefs. I expect them to do a nice bounce back game against a cow against the Cowboys. But you know, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys win. They did have a bye week. This has been a 12 win team in years past. So rooting for the Niners. The bars are a lot more happier up here when the Niners win. When they don't win, they're empty. So rooting for that last game, Giants visiting my Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers favored by six points over under 36 and a half. [00:30:43] Speaker C: I laugh at the schedule makers for the NFL that thought this even preseason this was going to be a good Sunday night game. The Steelers route the Giants in this game. If I was putting this in my, it may be my sixth pick at all because I think the Giants are that bad. I think the Steelers, you know, they found something. I will give Mike Tomlin all the credit of him knowing his quarterback room and what Russell Wilson was able to do to really stretch the field even with this team being kind of a run first offense. But yeah, the Giants and that New York bias there keep continuing to get these prime time games. But Steelers win big. [00:31:21] Speaker B: Yeah, Steelers. Was this back to back Sunday night games? I mean, when does the NFL ever done that with both New York teams? I think the score is going to be similar. Steelers are going to route the Giants like Jason said. And depending on, you know, injury reports, maybe I sneak the Steelers into my top five. Right now they're the outside looking in at six, but yeah, Steelers minus six. Big. They should handle the Giants. They should whip them. Brian Dabel, you know, hit him on the hot seat, probably gets it through the end of the year, but he'll be a coach likely looking for a new job. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Interesting. I'm going with ice fielders. No doubt about that. Cool. That does it. Let's take a quick break. When we come back, let's do Aaron's College Football Games of the week. We are back for Aaron's College Football Games of the Week to watch and to bet on week nine. We got 10 games on the list and man, this is going to be an action packed weekend of football on Saturday. I don't know if I can sacrifice going out even for a little gym time. You got some really good games on there. There's some other games that didn't make the list, actually. I was kind of curious why. But let's get started. Aaron with number one, number 17, Boise State, which I was kind of listening to a few podcasts back, we kind of said there might be a possibility that might run the table. They play UNLV minus three, 64 and a half over under. [00:32:55] Speaker B: Big game, big game in the Mountain West. You know, Boise State, we talked about running the table. Win this game and that looks good going forward. They've got to win out to get into the playoffs. I, I, I, I think Jason's been on Boise State since the preseason came out. I'm on the train right now. I like Boise State minus three over UNLV Friday night. This is a Friday night game. Big Friday night. [00:33:18] Speaker A: Oh, nice. Oh man, tomorrow's tough, dude. There's a lot of big games tomorrow night. [00:33:25] Speaker C: There's been some really great Friday football in college this year. But yeah, I agree with Aaron. It's got to be one of the games to watch. Probably Boise State's biggest tests for the rest of the regular season for them to claim the Mountain west right now. UNLV 6 and 1, I think still aired right now, but 2 and O in the conference. So this is going to be Boise State's biggest hurdle. They win this and, you know, complete business down the stretch. They're going to be in the playoff as the non power five team taking care of business. [00:33:55] Speaker A: BYU plus two against Central Florida, 55 and a half. Why this game, Aaron? Was Central Florida. [00:34:03] Speaker B: I mean, BYU is getting plus points at what, 70 against. [00:34:08] Speaker A: Kind of weird Florida. [00:34:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, this line makes no sense to me. Central Florida has lost three straight. I know they played Iowa State tough. They just changed quarterbacks for that game. And the quarterback's the same as any Michigan quarterback. Can't throw the ball. Central Florida can run all over everybody, but BYU is good against the run. This line makes no sense to me. Maybe because BYU is going from Utah to Florida. You know, byu, we talked about it. They, they've got. They've been owning the Big 12 right now, them in Iowa State, Texas Tech unbeaten in the conference. It's a big game for BYU on the road. Plus two. You got to take a money line, I think in this one. [00:34:46] Speaker C: Well, when you talk about Big 12 rivalries, you got to talk about BYU versus University of Central Florida. So Rome looks confused. I'm being totally sarcastic on this. [00:34:56] Speaker A: No, I know. [00:34:58] Speaker B: What the hell? This honestly might be the first meeting ever in college football. I'd be curious as to know if that is true. [00:35:05] Speaker A: I'm like, it's fucking news to me if it's a robbery. Jeez, you learn something new every day. You guys just play my fucking chain. All right. Game number three, by the way, Pyu is number 11. Just didn't point that out. Number 12, Notre Dame versus number 24, Navy. [00:35:24] Speaker C: Man. Game of the week. Game of the week. [00:35:26] Speaker B: Game of the week at MetLife Stadium. [00:35:28] Speaker A: At MetLife Stadium in New York. Gotta love it. Give us a 4 1, Aaron. [00:35:34] Speaker B: 13 points. Seems like a lot here, but we don't know how good Navy is. I like the over 51. Notre Dame to get the win. Take the over 51. Should be a high scoring game. I know Jason's got a lot to say about the Fighting Irish. [00:35:47] Speaker A: You're staying away though, huh? You don't know how good Navy is. It's gonna. No one does, I guess. [00:35:52] Speaker B: I mean, Navy and Army, you know, they went from, you know, the wildcat to the wishbone to the T bone. All that, man. Now you know how they're throwing the football spread offense. I think a lot of points can be scored in this game. Even Though Notre Dame's got a good defense. I like the over 51. [00:36:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Notre Dame is going to ruin the good story that is army and Navy this year if they play both of them. You know, I know everyone in the media talking about getting to the Army, Navy, American Athletic Conference championship game and then you know, playing against the next week in the usual Army Navy rivalry game. But I. Notre Dame's got to win this one. You know, they need to go undefeated down the stretch to be in the, in the College Football Playoff. My only critique in Notre Dame in some of these games. Jeremiah, love their running back to me is, is, is the engine behind what makes that offense goes. And there's sometimes where they're just not getting him the ball. I think he needs to show up big in this game. Riley Leonard has found kind of his footing where he's at, but it's running the ball, not necessarily passing the ball only has 1100 yards passing so far through what are we seven games for the season right now for Notre Dame. So it's a test for them. You know it's going to. Who would have thought when you look at Notre Dame scheduled on the stress and army and Navy would be their two biggest games and not Florida State, usc. [00:37:11] Speaker A: Amazing next game, couple unranked teams. I'm assuming it's just because a big rivalry and maybe you're just trying to. I know your fucking prediction. [00:37:23] Speaker C: Oh, I know. I know why this is on Aaron's list right here. [00:37:26] Speaker A: Michigan State at Michigan. [00:37:28] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, I mean Michigan, if they're going to get bowl eligible, they need to win this game. You got to get the six wins. This is one of the games I marked down that they would win. I do like Michigan here. I do like them to cover the four points. Rome, they will get their fifth win of the season on Saturday over Michigan State. If not, hey, they're going to be at home come bowl year with my Florida State team watching from the sidelines. [00:37:50] Speaker A: How is your Florida State team doing? I, you know, no one has talked about them at all since they've lost. Whatever. [00:37:55] Speaker B: I don't know. Well, they got a game this week didn't make the list, but against Miami. It would be the biggest upsetting college football. Florida State wins. Oh, wow. So Cam Ward's going to go off on the might see, but not, not worth watching. I won't have it on. [00:38:10] Speaker A: You won't have it on? [00:38:11] Speaker B: I might catch a play here or there. You're just keep it. I'll keep it on the ticker. The score, and if it seems close, I'll jump in. [00:38:17] Speaker A: You're just like the Bay Area fans, man. You're off the boat. You're off the boat once the team sucks. [00:38:23] Speaker B: I'm still. I'm still on the boat, man. But it's just got a. We. We put it on shore, bro. It's got a lot of leaks. It's got a lot of holes right now. It's not safe to take out on the water. [00:38:31] Speaker A: You've done this with your Bulls, you done this with your Braves. No loyalty, man. [00:38:37] Speaker B: Go to the next game, man. [00:38:39] Speaker A: Next game. Number eight, LSU versus number 14, Texas A&M. A&M favored by two and a half. 54 and a half. This is going to be a good fucking game. [00:38:51] Speaker B: Should be a good game. LSU coming off a couple big wins against Ole Miss. And then last week, Arkansas, Texas A and M, ever since the opening loss in Notre Dame, has been rolling their schedule's favorable lines up for late in the year with Texas at home. If A And M&LSU, I think have a shot at making the playoff, this is a must win for both teams. I like A and M at home to get it done, though. [00:39:14] Speaker A: All right. [00:39:17] Speaker C: I agree with. Yeah, I agree with Aaron. A and M's are playing great. Since that loss to Notre Dame, the offense has really found itself. Lsu, they got a lot of talent all the times, but I'm just. I'm just never sold on the Brian Kelly experiment down there. I think he is a good recruiter, but he had a struggle zone at Notre Dame. You know, just in from a, you know, game management standpoint and, you know, always kind of losing the big one when it kind of mattered. And this is going to be a big game. And Kyle Field, one of the toughest atmospheres to play at college football. [00:39:49] Speaker A: Yeah, there's actually some talk about how good the quarterback at LSU is. I can't remember his name, but he's projected to be a high draft pick week class coming out this next draft class. But the following year, everyone's kind of picking him to be a Heisman hopeful. I don't know who to go for. Yeah, lots of talent, but it's going to be fun. Next game is number 21, Missouri, visiting number 15, Alabama, who's already had a couple tough losses in the season. What's going down? [00:40:22] Speaker B: Yeah, what sticks out here is Alabama favored by 17. [00:40:25] Speaker A: That's crazy. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, Missouri, I know their quarterback got banged up last week. He came back, got the victory, let him from behind against Auburn. Homecoming Week there for Missouri. Missouri's got a decent defense. Alabama definitely needs this win. You know, Kayla DeBoer is already hearing the noise for sure over there. A lot of calls been, you know, legend over there famously calling from Alabama. He said, you know, the bo's got two strikes. Two strikes. One more loss in already. Yeah, he might just have to boot them. Alabama gets back in the win column here. They'll, they'll beat Missouri. Missouri is going to be about their starting running back. I heard it'll be tough for them to go into Alabama and beat a team that's desperate, desperate for a win. [00:41:11] Speaker C: Agree with Aaron. Missouri is the one team that just stuck out to me in the preseason where they were ranked and then through the first like five, six weeks from the, from the SEC specifically. That kind of just didn't belong with some of the heavy hitters that they're kind of either more of a mid pack SEC team. I fear for Kellen DeBoer safety that if he loses this game. So I think they rally around in this game and Alabama comes home with a victory. [00:41:35] Speaker A: All right, all right, all right. This is going to be a good game. I hope so at least. Number five Texas, 19 point favorites while they visit number 25 ranked newly ranked Vanderbilt, who has a couple signature wins this year in a, in a very special year for Vandy. [00:41:57] Speaker B: No respect, man. No respect from Vegas. And the wise guys here give me Vanderbilt 19 points all day over soft Texas. Texas is rattled. My sources, my sources over there have told me to rattle. Sarkeesian hasn't drank in a while, but he's got a bottle standing right there next to him. And a loss here against Vanderbilt. He might pop one. He might pop one. [00:42:16] Speaker A: He did have a drink of problem. I forgot about that. Those pills though too at usc. [00:42:21] Speaker B: Hey, hey. He loses this weekend at Vanderbilt. They're going to take more than the goalpost down. They're going to take him to the bar and have a drink on him. Give me Vanderbilt + 19, bro. [00:42:31] Speaker A: You're a cold son of a bitch, dude. I got to give it to you now. You hate Texas. I fucking knew it. I fucking knew it. [00:42:40] Speaker C: Texas is one of Rome's like five college football teams, right? [00:42:44] Speaker B: Yeah, obvious obviously. Even though he's got a Nebraska. Who do you on right now? [00:42:50] Speaker A: I do. Oh, you caught that? Yeah. I was rocking this at the gym earlier today, lake day, and it was rough. Any takes on those Jason, or should I just move on to the next game now? [00:43:02] Speaker C: You move on. [00:43:04] Speaker A: Cool. Number three, Penn State versus A Very tricky Wisconsin team, which we've talked about them plenty of times. [00:43:14] Speaker B: I'm calling the upset Wisconsin. Wisconsin. Wisconsin is going to be Penn State this weekend. You know, there's been a lot going on in the Penn State program today. You know, some old players, some rape allegations. The team may not be focused. We'll keep an eye on that. [00:43:30] Speaker A: Chase looks shocked. There's always rape allegations at Penn State, in case you didn't know. Going back to Joe Paterno. Yeah, it's a rape school. It's the Rapey Lions, I heard. [00:43:40] Speaker B: Yeah. And Wisconsin. I like Wisconsin to get the victory here. They're going to beat Penn State, at least cover for sure. But I'm calling the upset. I like Wisconsin. Upset Penn State this weekend. [00:43:51] Speaker A: What the hell is going on at Penn State? Like, there was rape allegations there. Like, what the fuck? What's in the water? Interesting. [00:43:59] Speaker B: It's called Happy Valley for a reason, but it's not so happy for the ladies out there. [00:44:02] Speaker A: Christ, dude. [00:44:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:44:08] Speaker A: All right. I'm gonna stay away from that. Nebraska makes the list. They got their ass beat last week, man. Dude, I'm surprised how many wearing this sweatshirt against number four, Ohio State. [00:44:25] Speaker B: They got their ass. [00:44:26] Speaker C: 25. [00:44:27] Speaker B: They got their ass beating. The line indicates that 25 and a half against the Buckeyes. [00:44:32] Speaker A: You know what? I think there's an upset right here. I'm calling upset. Nebraska at Ohio State this fucking weekend. Number four goes down. They play on a soft schedule anyways. Nebraska wakes up. They can't play at home, but they play away. Mark it down, bucket. I'm taking Nebraska Rome special. [00:44:53] Speaker B: There you go. I like Ohio state to win 25 and a half. Seems like a lot, but they'll win by double figures. At least give me the Buckeyes at home. [00:45:04] Speaker A: Yeah, more than likely they just score anything last week. Jay. [00:45:11] Speaker C: Yeah. Ohio State's going to crush that. Ohio State's going to crush Nebraska. I don't know what you're talking about here. [00:45:15] Speaker A: No fucking love, huh? [00:45:16] Speaker B: He's on those. He's on the SAR and pills and drinking bottle right now. That's for sure. [00:45:20] Speaker A: I haven't really drank in two weeks, man. The beer with my daughter doesn't count. [00:45:28] Speaker C: Where this no be. Before. Before you get. Are we done with Nebraska and Ohio State? [00:45:34] Speaker A: Yeah, we're done. Back to the Penn State. [00:45:37] Speaker C: No, no, no, no. I'm way past the Penn State. But we're. Before we got Aaron. Well, before we get to Aaron's 10th game. It's been a few weeks. I would Say Aaron has done very well in his penmanship for all right. Games of the week. However I got. I got to this game and I just don't know what the first letter of Illinois is. That is could be some Egyptian hieroglyphics. I don't know. That's not an eye. That is not a T. I don't know what letter that is. [00:46:12] Speaker A: Dude. If you look up the Texas, all that T on the Texas looks the same as the eye on Illinois. Looks like a Jesus cross, man. [00:46:19] Speaker B: He's clearly an eye there, man. You gotta go get your eyes right now. Get the lighting corrected. [00:46:26] Speaker A: It looks like the tea on Texas. [00:46:29] Speaker B: The top part does. Yeah. But you don't see the bottom part. [00:46:33] Speaker C: Generally in the capital. I. You know the line across like touches the vertical line here. Looks like I had to say hangman. [00:46:44] Speaker B: Right? Hangman. It's all good, man. If. If you don't. If you don't correct me on one error a week, then you're really not paying attention to the list. [00:46:50] Speaker C: I'm not. [00:46:56] Speaker A: Number 20 Illinois Tilly or yeah. Against number one Oregon. Dude. Il has been good this year. Is this a potential upset? Are we looking at something here? Is Oregon. They've had some close calls. [00:47:11] Speaker B: I think it's gonna be a close call here too. [00:47:13] Speaker A: Another one? [00:47:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Illinois will cover 21 and a half. I don't know if they're gonna go into Oregon win Oregon. We've seen in the past before they get a huge win. Then they kind of let their foot off the gas. I know they did beat a bad Purdue team last Friday. But Illinois is coming of a lot of confidence, man. Definitely for sure. This should be a good game. Their only loss was at Penn State. They didn't play very well. 54 and a half seems a little low. I like the over two. Give me Illinois plus the points and the over. [00:47:41] Speaker A: You have to grave the on that one. That seems a Little Low end 21 against Ily. I don't think Oregon's that good. They're good. Not 21 points good. [00:47:51] Speaker C: I don't know. I got. I gotta disagree. As much as I love my home state a liney. You know, they barely snuck by Purdue themselves two weeks ago. And then Oregon blew out Purdue last week. So I. I think Illinois goes in but gets routed by Oregon. [00:48:10] Speaker A: Everyone has a bad week. Look at Texas last week. Yeah. People rebound. Awesome. Well, that does it then. I'm going to post these up with Aaron's new college football graphics on on the gram and on X. I'm Looking forward to it. Let's take a quick break. When we come back, we'll do a World Series preview special. I'm excited. Don't go away. Source it from the sofa in a few seconds. So here we are, a little World Series preview, possibly for the ages here. The New York Yankees against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is pretty epic. There's like lots of history to take into this. This is the 120th World Series, by the way. And this is the 12th matchup between the Yankees and Dodgers. This is the first time they meet up in the World series. It's been 40 years in the making with the Yankees leading eight to three in those matchups. But eight of those were when they were both in New York, when it was Brooklyn against New York. So that was like a long time ago. That's like in the 40s and 50s. Since then we all know about the Yankees, 27 titles. Looking for number 28. They haven't been in the World Series in 15 years and this are first since 2009. And you know, with all things considered, we haven't had a Repeat champion in 24 years. Now Yankees were the last one to do it back in those late 90s and 2000s teams with Jeter and everybody else. And the Dodgers, this is their fourth appearance in the last eight years. It's pretty crazy, but they haven't shown up in four years. So three of those were in the four year span and now they're back better than ever, baby. We'll just start off from there. There's a lot, a lot of things going on. What's your guys thoughts? How are you guys feeling? What are you guys hearing on this potential epic World Series? [00:50:21] Speaker C: Well, I think thoughts of it just looking at for Major League Baseball itself, you know, this is what the commissioner's office, what Fox, you know, have, has wanted the two biggest markets in the country, you know, two legacy franchises since the Guggenheim Group bought the Dodgers, they've been, you know, one of the pillars of baseball. They're one of the best run organizations out there. I think, you know, arguably have underperformed given, you know, how great of a roster they've continually put together. And the Yankees, you know, they, they are the brand of baseball, you know, across the country and internationally. So it couldn't get much bigger than baseball. I think this is a real test overall for Major League Baseball. Maybe test isn't the right word but like this should be the biggest drawing World Series you could potentially do right now, you know, across the country. And baseball has become such a regional sport versus, you know, the national sport that is the NFL and for some, for most parts, the NBA too. So I think there's a lot of excitement for it. The ticket prices definitely reflect that. So it's, it's going to be, it's good. I think it'll be a good World Series if I'm looking at the matchups, if we're getting into that. I think the Yankees, to me is they're weirdly dogs in this first game because in games one and two, I think the Yankees have the better pitching. So, you know, they're going to start with Garrett Cole, who's proven in the postseason with the Astros, and then followed by Carlos Rodan, who I think just has, you know, the matchup over Yamamoto at the same time, too. So the pitching favors the Yankees to start the game, but Obviously you have three MVPs at the top of the lineup for the Dodgers that can counter that. So it's, it's, it's going to be a battle. But I think the Yankees pull at least one of the first two out, probably game one. [00:52:18] Speaker A: You mentioned it's more of a regional sport. What do you mean by that? Actually, I, I mean, when we talk. [00:52:24] Speaker C: You know, we do a whole segment on NFL lines and even, you know, Aaron, you and me are all watching. We watch Jacksonville Jaguars game or hey, we're watching a Rams Vikings game on a Thursday night. When it's talking baseball right now, like, you know, you, you're watching your local team. You know, it's, it's a sport that's relied on regional sports networks, which is actually a model that's going, you know, pretty downhill because a lot of, mostly most of these teams don't have a great regional sports network deal since the Sinclair owned Bally sports networks kind of went down and a lot of them have doubles broadcasting. So when you look at Major League Baseball ratings, if you're talking ratings on tv, they don't really rate well in prime time because, you know, most of America is not going to watch like, you know, a matchup of, you know, the brewers versus the Diamondbacks in a prime time game where it's like, hey, that was a fight for the playoffs. But it's going to get like, you know, 1.5 million viewers or something like that. So, you know, baseball just isn't a national sport. It's not a mer. It's not America's national pastime anymore. It's, hey, me, Jason, a White Sox fan. I'm watching all the White Sox Games, but I'm not, I'm not going to watch these other games out there. So I think that's the biggest part of it. I don't think maybe here in Southern California we see as much of it because we feel the Dodgers is probably a national brand, but there's 28 other markets across the country that, you know, really only care about their team. Where the NFL, we kind of care about all 32. [00:53:55] Speaker A: Do we though? Who cares about the Jags? Who cares about the Panthers? [00:54:01] Speaker B: Well, I mean, we do care. I mean, we care. We got fantasy purposes. There's a lot more betting. It's once a week. Yeah. I mean, like Jason said, I mean, the Dodgers here for a while, we're on, you know, Spectrum, you know, Sports Net. That was only carried by Time Warner. You couldn't get it over DirecTV for a while. [00:54:17] Speaker A: That was so irritating. [00:54:18] Speaker B: Who does that based off that? [00:54:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:54:20] Speaker B: So when we talk about regional, you know, you know, Fox has kind of come out, you know, for the second half of the season where they'll put a game, two games on, you know, Channel 11 Saturday at like 4pm Whatever's baseball's game of the week. And like Jason said, maybe it's drawing, you know, a couple million viewers. It's not like an NFL Sunday night. Let's put it this way. You know, the Giants, Steelers would probably outdraw any game during the regular season. Baseball, that's not, say Yankees, Dodgers, when they had their three game set there at Yankee Stadium. Getting back to the World Series, Jason mentioned. Yeah, the Yankees are going to have the pitching matchup game one and two for sure. And you know, the Dodgers have been kind of skating by with bullpen games throughout the playoffs. We'll see how that goes in this series. You know, baseball couldn't have asked for a better matchup. Big market, Yankees, Dodgers, ironically, these have been the two best teams in their leagues all year. We haven't seen that from a baseball World Series where usually a team sneaks in and gets hot. Last year, the D backs, Rangers, I mean, D backs, Rangers came out of nowhere last year Yankees were kind of on the cusp. Dodgers were on the cusp last year. This year they make it in. So it should be an exciting World Series. I think it's going to be a good World Series and I'm excited for it. [00:55:36] Speaker A: Yeah, the last time we had. I kind of got a note down here somewhere. The last time we had the top two teams from each league was in 2013. That was red Sox against the Cardinals and they both won 97 games that year and before that was in 1999. So doesn't happen too often. This weird format. You get a lot of teams that catch lighting in the bottle. We've seen this our whole childhood. You know, the best team doesn't always make it at the end. Aaron's Braves, those, you know, Mike Dodgers a bunch of a handful of times. What makes this World Series kind of interesting too though, the projected MVPs that are projected to win. You got Aaron Judge on the Yankees, Sohail Ohtani. That hasn't happened too often. Last time that's happened. This will be the seventh World Series in 120 year history if they both win their MVP. But last time was in 2012 when it was Buster POS. Buster Posey against Miguel Cabrera. And then before that was in 88, Kirk Gibson and Jose Canseco. So lots of crazy things happening, historical storylines happening here. [00:56:43] Speaker C: Yeah. The other thing about this is, you know, baseball as well doesn't really create stars like they used to. And in this series and in this series for what baseball does to a national audience, you know, Shohei Ohtani is that star. And to a degree, Aaron Judge is that star as well too. There's a lot of probably New York bias with that, but I think he's one of the more recognizable names in baseball. But you know, Tani just worldwide is one of the most stars. And then you have, you know, within the game of baseball, you have superstars like Moogie Betts and you have Freddie Freeman and you have Juan Soto. Like, there is great players in here. And the biggest stars baseball could get are also on two of their most storied franchises as well. That's what I think. What adds to this, this drama as well, because Aaron mentioned last year's World Series. Like, I don't think anyone outside of baseball bubble is really pointing out, you know, Corbin Carroll and whoever on the Texas Rangers, you know, could have been. [00:57:45] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:57:46] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, who won World Series MVP last year? [00:57:49] Speaker C: I don't even know exactly. [00:57:51] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:57:52] Speaker A: I enjoyed watching it though. [00:57:53] Speaker C: I. I mean, it's good baseball, but there's only so many, you know, baseball sickos like Aaron and I who play an NL only, you know, keeper fantasy league out there. So, I mean, those are the type of people that you're kind of. They're going to be kind of glued to majority baseball. But this gives a national audience. It's also going to be on Fox. I think one of the things we never talked about, you know, was the NLC as having games at FS1. I still don't know what baseball does with this stuff, is like, how do you. How do you not get some games on, you know, the Fox proper network and having these stuff on FS1? But this will be on Fox. Big national audience, big brands. They'll have Friday night and Saturday night really clear. They stay away from football on Sunday, smartly. So, you know, this. This will be big for baseball. Yeah. [00:58:40] Speaker A: You mentioned about the stars. That's been, like, a little bit of chatter on, like, some articles, Reddit boards, how MLB has kind of dropped the ball. They've done some really great changes with, like, the pitch clock, you know, eliminating the switches, making the bases bigger, making it more opportunities to steal, you know, create some runs. But, Judge, man, this guy's huge. This guy's like. He looks like a superhero, you know, And I feel like they've kind of wanted him to kind of be that big star to carry baseball. But then you got Sohel Ohtani, man. Kind of like all natural, all organic, kind of not even very talkative, right? Allegedly. He doesn't speak English unless he's talking to a cute WNBA girl. And all of a sudden, he got Riz. But, you know, he. He looks. He got a lot of swag at the base, and, you know, he's on every commercial now. So. Kind of crazy. You got two big stars. I think that's a big win for baseball. They can capitalize correctly. [00:59:37] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, you got, you know, Judge Ohtani, but you've got other big players. You got, so Garrett Cole, you got Mookie Betts, you got a lot of big names here, man. I mean, Aaron Boone, Dave Roberts, ex players now, you know, managers. So there's. There's a lot of storylines here going into this game, going into this series. It's. It's. It's exciting for baseball, man. I'm actually really excited for this World Series. [01:00:04] Speaker A: You guys want to hear something crazy? Oh, go ahead. [01:00:06] Speaker C: No, I was gonna say, it's kind of funny you brought up Boone and Roberts, because really, I. Oh, man. Well, I think nationally, the last time you think of those two names being instrumental in the 04 Red Sox run, which may have been the last. Like, is that the last great series you had was the Red Sox coming back on the Yankees and the 04 ALCS, and, you know, those guys were players at the time. Dave Roberts has one of the biggest steals in baseball history and definitely Red Sox history to preserve that game for at the time. And then Boone Being on that team and, you know, all that went kind of with it. Or actually, he wasn't even on that team. Wasn't a rod on that team. Boom. Cut. Boone got hurt that year, and that's why they brought a rod in. [01:00:49] Speaker A: I don't remember that. Damn. [01:00:52] Speaker B: Yeah. All fours, you know, 20 years back. [01:00:55] Speaker C: But it's 20 years back, but I. [01:00:57] Speaker A: I don't really yank it in, but I do remember the Red Sox team, though, because I was rooting for them. [01:01:01] Speaker C: I. I do. And to me, I mean. I mean, I had the White Sox in 05, but like, me and like seven other people watched that World Series when they swept the Astros. But. But I mean, when you think. When you think of big baseball, historic series, like, that's the. That ALCS is. The one that lives in my mind is like, hey, that. That was the last, like, huge, like. Like baseball series that, like the country was invested in at that time. Maybe the. Maybe the Cub. Maybe the Cubs, Cubs, Indians series. Because it was. There was a Cubs nostalgia to it. But I. I still think that Red Sox, Yankee stuff just lives. And it could be, you know, it was during our prime of baseball. [01:01:34] Speaker B: Yeah, Yankees, Red Sox. Back then, when we were high school, early college days, that was a thing. I mean, every other Sunday night, that was Sunday night, game of the week, you know, Baratek, all those guys. Big Poppy, Johnny Damon, I mean, Danny Ramirez, Pedro no more, you know, you know, throwing Zimmerman down the. You know, the pitching coach and this. It was class. It was like. That was a classic time where you could do some WWE stuff on the baseball field and nobody even blinked an eye. [01:02:02] Speaker A: Right. [01:02:02] Speaker B: So that was a good old times. I believe that's the only series where a team ever came down from three down to come back and win a series in baseball history. [01:02:09] Speaker A: One. Yeah. The first one to do it. I remember betting on the. On the Red Sox. [01:02:13] Speaker B: I think me and you, Rome, we. We went. You know, we went with a beard. You know, we didn't shave till they won the damn thing. We're basically a full month there. No shave, nothing. Let the beard grow out. Got the jerseys there after they won. So, I mean, we got the jersey. [01:02:25] Speaker A: Yeah, we kind of adopted the Red Sox because we were rooting for them just to curse, you know, way before they won. I think we started that, like in the late 90s, you know. Well, you start your braids. I saw my daughters. But yeah, we were rooting for the Red Sox. Low key. So, yeah, we. It was a good time. Pretty interesting since then, that that was star studded. I don't think we've had a star studded playoff since then. Maybe. Probably not. Actually. [01:02:49] Speaker C: I don't know. I feel that was the biggest one. I. I gotta stand corrected. Yeah. Aaron Boone, not on the 04 Red Sox team. I think, I think if I remember the story, he's just hurt because he has no stats in 04. And I think when he got hurt and then that's where they traded for a rod that year. And so that was a rod's first year on the Yankees. [01:03:05] Speaker A: Oh, that's tough. Sorry. A rod. So this game right here or the Series has the most former MVPs. It's going to be at five. It would be six if Kershaw was playing, but he's not. But you have Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Judge and Staten. This is the most in the world series since 1971 when they had four in that series with Powell, Robinson, Frank Robinson and Roberto Clemente. So star studded, man. They got everything. They got everything here. That's not including bets and, you know, Garrett Cole. It's going to be fun. Let's go to the Series. I guess, you know, pitching, I think leans towards the Yankees bullpen. I got to give it up to Roberts, the way he's managed that, not playing them too often so batters get comfortable. I'm not sure there's like stats kind of supporting it either side, but it's really worked for the Dodgers this year. For me, that's leaning towards the Dodgers then hitting. They both got big bats. Just the Dodgers, I think, might be a little bit deeper. What are your thoughts. [01:04:17] Speaker C: Man? It's. I feel it's so even in a lot of ways. And it's probably to me going to come down to which of the stars in the lineup have the biggest Series. You know, can Mookie or Shohei do it versus Judge and Soto? [01:04:37] Speaker A: It stays in. [01:04:38] Speaker C: I was sneezing, man. I was holding it as long as I could, you know, but yeah, just. [01:04:43] Speaker A: Let it out, dude. I was like, what? [01:04:45] Speaker C: Yeah, I was thinking, you know, no sneeze button in the microphone, but that's funny. Yeah, I, I think it comes down. It's going to come down to the, you know, which of the big bats gets going in the Series. I think just frankly, like, you got, you got six power hitters between the two with, with a lot going on and you know, but then in smaller doses, it's sometimes the guy, you don't think of that. That could be coming up to it, but like I think, I think Judge and, and Soto have big series. And then to somebody like Stanton who's making that big money, does he have. Does he have a big outing where it's down there? [01:05:19] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, Stan's hot right now. Like Jason said, it's going to come down a big bad. Stars got to be stars. Like you said, Rome stars have got to be stars. They've got. But role players. Tommy Edmond coming out from the nlc. Yes. Mvp, outstanding player. He's been on fire. Tesco Hernandez has struggled. Kiki's come up with some big hits. Can the guy like Chaz Chisholm, can he show up with some stolen bases, a double, a triple, get some runs going? It. It's going to be a great series. I think Judge, Stanton, Soto, all those guys are going to deliver. Otani bets. Freeman, he's got the bad ankle. But Muncie, he broke a record by getting on base 13 times, either with walks or hits. A Major League Baseball playoff record. Yeah, it's, it's. It's definitely going to be exciting. Like I mentioned, who do you guys got? [01:06:08] Speaker C: I'm going to take the Yankees, of course. [01:06:12] Speaker A: How many games? [01:06:15] Speaker C: Seven. [01:06:16] Speaker A: Seven. Okay. [01:06:17] Speaker B: I got to go in seven games, too. I got the Dodgers. [01:06:23] Speaker A: I got the Dodgers in six. A tough six, though. One thing interesting, I think the daughters have been averaging twice as many runs as the Yankees. Yankees were like around three and a half. Dodgers double that. So I don't know about the Yankees, man. [01:06:41] Speaker B: They. [01:06:41] Speaker A: They beat the best bullpen, possibly with the Cleveland Guardians, right? [01:06:47] Speaker C: Yeah, they made. They made me pretty look pretty bad. Touting Class A for how dominant he was in the regular season and really giving the Guardians an edge. And yeah, they made him look pretty bad. [01:07:03] Speaker A: Cool. I guess that does it then. Game one tomorrow night, which by the time this podcast goes out, we've been publishing this Friday morning afternoon. We'll get some clips out on the gram and on X. Should be. [01:07:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I got a pick for you right now. Rome. This is a World Series prop bet. Given that we all like six or seven games, I like over five and a half. You can get that at minus 202 to 1 odds that the series will go over five and a half games. I don't see it going any less than six. I'm locking my bet in right now. I'm locking it in right now. [01:07:35] Speaker A: That's a definite lock. Let's put that on the ax and put it on Dub Club. Is that it? [01:07:43] Speaker C: Got a huge sports weekend ahead of us. We talked pro Football, college football. Got a big World Series. If you're in my neck of the woods, you got Formula One in Mexico, so it should be a big race there. NASCAR playoffs. We haven't talked NASCAR down to the final three races in the, in the playoff. We got. They're down in Hopestead Miami this week. Could be eliminating a few people from the playoff picture from the nascar, decide the NASCAR champion, and then I think Rome, not in my purview, but more errands. We got, I think a UFC card on Saturday night too, correct? [01:08:16] Speaker B: Yeah, big UFC card starts 11am Our time out there in Abu Dhabi. So that's, yeah, we have football, UFC fights on. Like Rome said, my ass will be plotted into the couch for sure. [01:08:30] Speaker A: Oh, man. You know what I typically do? Watch a little bit of NASCAR pretty casually every year. I did not watch any of this here. I didn't even know the playoffs were going on. Like, are they not on TV as much anymore? Am I just like fully in depth in football now? [01:08:43] Speaker C: Nah, they're on TV last about a month and a half. They're on the USA Network. [01:08:49] Speaker A: Yeah, that's why, that's why. [01:08:51] Speaker C: USA Network, number one cable network out there, but they'll be on NBC here, I think through the final three, four races of the year. So. Yeah. So big NASCAR to the conclusion. [01:09:03] Speaker A: USA Network is not on YouTube TV. [01:09:07] Speaker C: Yeah, it is. [01:09:08] Speaker A: Really? [01:09:09] Speaker B: Man, it has to be, for sure. [01:09:11] Speaker A: All right, tell me what channel I'm going to look it up right now. [01:09:14] Speaker C: There's no channels on YouTube TV. It's just USA Network. I watch Monday. I watch Monday Night Raw. [01:09:20] Speaker B: Right. [01:09:20] Speaker C: I watch it Raw every month. Every Monday. And now Smackdown's on Friday nights on USA Network. [01:09:27] Speaker A: Know, I actually do remember seeing wrestling on your. I, I, I. [01:09:31] Speaker B: Not that TNA stuff. Not that TNA stuff. That's on tnt. [01:09:35] Speaker C: No, that's, that's, that's aew. That's aew. [01:09:38] Speaker B: Okay. [01:09:39] Speaker A: Yeah, hold on, I'm scrolling. This is, this is news to me. Big Ten, Big 12. [01:09:50] Speaker B: Can't you just type in USA Network? [01:09:53] Speaker A: No, that's the way this bullshit works. It's, it's A. [01:09:55] Speaker C: Or he could, he can sort it in alphabetical order. D. Alphabetical order. It would have been one of the tops. [01:10:01] Speaker A: Oh, dude, I'm not learning anything new. This is, it is what it is. I'm past that age now. I'm not going to learn anything now. I, I should do that, though, because I got country, got the movie channels. [01:10:16] Speaker B: I mean, I think Rome looking for the. There it is. He found it. [01:10:20] Speaker A: Holy shit. Yeah, right below Truth. I don't go up here, man. It's like, right next to all the channels I don't really watch. [01:10:27] Speaker B: Well, there you go. [01:10:29] Speaker A: Well, tomorrow, they got tomorrow. [01:10:31] Speaker C: Friday night smackdown on USA Network. All right. [01:10:34] Speaker A: What's F9? Fast Saga. [01:10:38] Speaker C: F9. [01:10:39] Speaker B: That's fast and Furious, bro. [01:10:41] Speaker C: Fast and Furious, man. Yeah. Is this a movie 9? Yeah. [01:10:46] Speaker A: This looks bad. This looks really bad. [01:10:48] Speaker C: Oh, it's so good. If you don't love every Fast and the Furious movie, it's all about family, bro. I don't know. I don't know what you're sleeping on. This. [01:10:55] Speaker B: The. [01:10:56] Speaker A: The. The scene I'm watching kind of looks like the beginning of a gay porno. And I think I'm good. I'm out of usa. [01:11:02] Speaker B: We are. We are still recording, right? Okay. Part of this is part of the baseball segment, by the way, so let's make sure we edit this part out. [01:11:09] Speaker A: I'm a divide it. Yeah. Pick, UFC fight, baseball, college. All right, that's great. I'm glad. We added, like, another seven minutes to nothing. Well, thanks for letting me know about the USA Network. I'm looking forward to it. [01:11:22] Speaker C: You're welcome. [01:11:24] Speaker A: Cool. Have fun this weekend. I'll put this out and we'll see how we do on Monday night. Peace. [01:11:33] Speaker B: See you.
