[00:00:37] Speaker B: We really did. Dude, that's a really good.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: But hey, you know what? Look, I'll give you that, man. The time. The timeout talk by Jason with some bs. You know, the power went out and Tally kind of set some power outages where I was at as well. So we'll leave it at that. But we'll get into more detail. I got. I gotta defend myself because like, these guys are like CNN only telling like 25 of the true story.
[00:00:58] Speaker B: It's more than Fox. I. I gotta tell you that. So it's.
Let's recap. First, before we get into college football week, two errands. Games to watch. We used to call it games of the week last year. We're changing the games to watch because let's just face it, you can't have 20 games of the week. And we've been knocking errands since day one. There's some funny clips in the first days of the podcast.
I don't know if you guys want to go on Instagram or it's on YouTube or we're making fun of Aaron for only putting one L on college. I think he actually put three Ls on college. I forgot the O. It's a really good clip. It's really funny. Check it out. But that's when we started hammering him about having so many games of the week and he was feeling pretty defensive back then, so check that out.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: But the degenerates want games every window. We're trying to keep it between 10 and 12 this year. That's where I've left it.
[00:01:50] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[00:01:52] Speaker A: I like that. Unless. Unless we get a 15, 20 game weekend.
If it happens, it happens.
[00:01:57] Speaker B: But it happens.
[00:01:59] Speaker A: I think we're at that 10, 11 range for last week.
[00:02:02] Speaker B: I did omit the Friday night picks because. Because the graphic came out a little late. But we did have Saturday and then I'm guessing the Sunday Monday games. I think something got weird on the. On the graphic. I'm not really sure what happened, but I did add the rankings, which are still missing from your yellow notepad. That you provide us.

Not a great week. Not a great.
[00:02:29] Speaker A: What are you talking about, man? What are you talking about?
It was a winning week. You guys docked me for being having a losing week and it was another winning week.
That's one of the stories we got to get right.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: Unfortunately, we did not do a pod covering the game. So here I'm gonna pull up a new sheet on the yellow piece of paper. Now.
[00:02:46] Speaker A: I'm just over the games. We can omit the Friday games. I went one and one Friday, but we can omit them if you want.
[00:02:52] Speaker B: All right, let's come back to it. First, let's talk about the Patriots Seahawks because that just wrapped up just minutes ago. We are recording Wednesday night, September 9, just minutes after the super bowl rematch of the Patriots versus the Seahawks up in the Pacific Northwest.
Let's start there. I thought this game was going to go a lot differently. Seahawks being disrespected as a Super bowl win winning team. They didn't really lose all too much besides their offensive coordinator.
So that might be something tricky. Especially because Sam Darnold, he's not getting a lot of love despite putting back to back 14 win campaigns and over 4,000 yards passing. This was a pretty tight game, man. Patriots came to play. I was actually pretty impressed. I know Drake B. Did throw three interceptions, but he utilized his legs to get out of the pocket and extend plays.
His receivers did drop a few critical throws that would have extended the drives on a few of them. So this could have ended way differently, man.
And our friend Eli, who I'm in the fantasy league with, he had them. He put 100 bucks down. He had it at minus two and a half. He took the Hawks. I'm like, how? How'd you get that? I'm not sure when it was because it's now a three. Some books, even a half, three and a half.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: He probably. He probably bought a point down or something.
I mean, I was on the money line Seattle, so nice, good job there.
[00:04:19] Speaker B: But he got lucky though, because van Patriots were driving it for the win and luckily I had the Seahawks defense in my league and they got me 13 points.
Nice sacks and some key interceptions there.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, if you look at this game, kind of a tale of two halves. Patriots go up in the half. What is it, seven zero, come out and get. Get it up to 10 zero mean you talked about s. Sam Darnold. I mean, first series of the game he goes out of a hip injury, I'm guessing it's going to be a hip pointer. It's probably week to week. That's usually depending on how quick he can heal. We'll find out once he gets the MRI done or whatnot. They didn't say much on the X rays, but I'm guessing a hit pointer. We'll find out more here in the coming days. Probably early next week when Seattle releases an injury report.
But Drew Lock came in there. Many of you might remember him from Denver. He was kind of supposed to be the savior there. Had some, some had some rough moments and kind of bounced around the league the last couple of years from Seattle as part of the Russell Wilson trade. And then he went to the Giants, part of that bad mess with Daniel Jones a couple years back, then back to Seattle. But he finally got some things going there in the second half and look at the numbers. Finished from 187 and touchdown. But he made some critical mistakes too because they had a lot of third and one, second and one.
Didn't get the offense set, clock running. Clock was running down the game, the play clock.
Couple false start penalties they had. They really should have gone in and got a touchdown and went up 17 to 10. They left the door open for New England. But Drake may.
Three turnovers. All three bad, just bad decisions. I mean these weren't like, you know, the defense made great, great plays. I mean bad reads. I mean you mentioned Romeo Dobbs. I think Jordan loves glad that he's out of town because he showed his true colors of the ex Packer dropping a couple passes there.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: Yeah, they were in his hands too.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: I mean he had a wide open catch. Rome you mentioned just, you gotta, I mean look, I, I can make that catch in my sleep. That, that's how easy that one was. Let's be real. I mean any wide receiver, college, high school, even in the junior peewee levels makes that catch. So that was a heartbreak drop.
Patriots though, I mean they have to be happy. I mean look, this was a team that just got dominated seven months ago by the Seattle. Their offensive line held up better. Yeah, in this matchup, I mean I'm looking.
Drake may only sack three times. I think he was sacked six times in the Super Bowl.
He's only thrown multiple interceptions against one opponent. That's Seattle each time. But I think if you're New England, you're going to be disappointing. He gave this game away. I mean it should have been overtime. Drake may cannot make that throw at the end of the game. It looked like he wanted to throw kind of a quick pass out to the sidelines and then just off his back leg throws it up for an interception. But Seattle, I mean, look at you, lose your quarterback, you got a new offensive coordinator coming in. He comes over from The Kyle Shanahan, McVeigh kind of system there with the 49ers really shaky there in the first half. But they got some things going. But I think for Seattle, too, the running back out of Notre Dame, Jadarian Price, he looked good. He did look good. He looked pretty fast. I'm happy with what I saw from him. And I think if you're Seattle, we talk about losing Kenneth Walker, the replacement here in Price looks pretty up to the par to me.
[00:07:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I was, I, I was kind of managing a few things. I was kind of working on some things for the podcast. When did, when did Seattle's quarterback go out?
[00:07:51] Speaker A: First series of the game. Okay, so he got sacked on, I believe, the fifth or sixth play. First series came off, was kind of hobbling. They brought him in the tent and then from the tent to the locker, but you can see he had a noticeable lamp kind of pointing at his hip.
They announced right before halftime that he was out for the game.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: That's tough because I wasn't really paying attention until, like the end of the first quarter. And then that's when I was like, wait a minute, whatever happened to Sam Darnold? But I just never got a chance to look it up. Was working on our other podcast. By the way, if you guys are new to the show or following the show already, we are launching a new podcast, part of the Source from the Sofa podcast. It is called the Sofa Wise Guys, featuring Aaron as well as our good friend Sniper West. We're going to be recording that every Wednesday in the afternoon and hopefully getting that to you Wednesday nights. You can have some picks, a couple days to mull over on how to gamble your sides for college football and in the NFL for the rest of the year. I'm pretty sure they'll probably want to delve into baseball, and I know Sniper will want to delve into some WNBA action. Not sure how much Aaron will get into that, but at least football coverage. The wise guys, our wise guys on the sofa. We'll be getting it to you every week from here on out. A nice little new podcast coming from us.

Besides this game, though, I thought it was a vast difference from the Super Bowl. Drake May looks a lot healthier. It was obvious that he Was injured in the Super Bowl.
Seahawks looked a little tepid in the first half. The defense came alive in the second half. Thank God I'm not a Seahawks guy because you don't have a little conflicting. It's not like college football. I don't root for the same teams in the same division here. I got my one team and then I got my local team. That's about it. And then I have coaches and players and co. You know, in quarterbacks that I root for.
[00:09:56] Speaker A: Well, plus you got your fantasy players. Rome. I mean, talking about A.J. brown, he went down in this game too in the third quarter with that ankle injury.
So we'll have to see how severe that is. But fantasy players, have you had Sam Darnold, some guys, top 10, top 12 quarterback, depending on where your ratings are.
[00:10:16] Speaker B: I'm releasing those soon. I'm releasing those soon.
[00:10:18] Speaker A: You know, Rome, I mean, somebody. I'm not going to mention his name, but had Drake Main number two in that list. We've talked about that a while.
Yeah. So he did not. He was the second best quarterback on the field today against a backup, if you honest.
[00:10:32] Speaker B: Wow. Okay.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: No turnovers. So, I mean, long term, Drake Bay is a better option, but today he was number two on the field.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: Got to say what it is, especially in this day and age now that we're not doing four preseason games and we go down to three and then we're gonna eventually go down to two and now teams game, you know, now they're doing joint practices and that's more aggressive. Week one's always kind of like a touch up, kind of like a refresher, like, all right, finally we gotta put the pads on and start hitting somebody else. So these are always tricky to weigh out. I thought secrets were going to come out and blow the handles off the Patriots again just because they. Because all the disrespect they've been getting all offseason. But it is week one. They're lucky to come away with the victory. Pats should have had this 100%. So that's a loss opportunity there. It seems like that seems to be the new Pat's tradition opening the season. Losing game. Or week one, rather.
[00:11:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean they lost last year to the Raiders in week one at home. Look how that. I mean, both these teams lost last year in week one. Seattle lost to the 49ers.
And I mean, look, like we said, Sam Darnold out in the first series.
Drew Locke comes in, he's got a losing record.
Drake, may they have this game And Drake May decided to make unnecessary throws challenges against a defense that is an elite group.
They're secondary. They've got some new guys back there. Two guys. Starters would be starters out supposedly for Seattle.
But yeah, I mean Drake May looked a lot quicker of his feet. Like you mentioned, he got a lot of third down conversions something he was not able to do in the Super Bowl. I mean look it, once you play 20 games in a season, playoffs included, you know everyone's got bumps, bruises, you know, sore knees, whatever shoulder he was going in week one Rome, like you mentioned, you haven't been hit all season of your quarterback. You got that red jersey on now you get out there, you looked, he looked sharp early and just made some unnecessary plays decisions and it came back to haunt the Patriots in this one and they, they gave this one to Seattle and it's a big win for Seattle. You don't ever want to lose home games so.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: And they're going to need it because it's, it's a tough year. It's a tough division. So they're lucky to come away.
[00:12:47] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean they're like they're likely going to finish second. They're expected. Which means you're going to end up traveling on the road in the playoffs. We saw what happened last year of the 49ers and Rams that did not win that division against Seattle. They had to go to Seattle in the playoffs. We know what that 12th man can be and it really the 12th man in the crowd on the defense picked up second half. I mean the Patriots I think one penalty in the first half, they, they finished with like six or seven for the game.
So that really seven. So they got six penalties in the second half that really hurt them along with the three turnovers.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: Yeah, most definitely.

We are back to talk about college football. Aaron has submitted his games to watch for week two.
Before we get into that, we did talk about briefly when we opened up this pod about Aaron's tepid showing last week. So if you want let's review your record from last week because.
[00:14:25] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, you guys gave me L across the board. The disrespect is, you know, you got to come out here and defend yourself and just show. I got receipts, as they say. I got receipts.
So, I mean, we'll put the Friday games up. I went one and one on Friday. I had Fresno State plus 21 one and a half. We know how that one ended up. They got beat, what, 39, zero by USC. Didn't bother to score.
I did have Miami.
They did cover the minus 24 against Stanford. So that, that's one and one if you're keeping track. Room.
[00:14:57] Speaker B: Okay, writing it down, one on one.
[00:14:58] Speaker A: UCLA, UCLA and Cal. I did take Cal. That was a great, great win by ucla. I mean, I'm sure you guys talked about that on the recap, you and Jason. But look, give credit to UCLA to go in there, get the win against Cal. Impressive. I, I took the better quarterback at home. It was a Tide.
Unfortunate one is why receivers couldn't catch a pass and then they started to turn the ball over. UCLA took advantage, so lost that one. That's one and two. I had Boise State plus 24 and a half against Oregon. That's a cover.
So Boise State plus 24 and a half. Cover.
Baylor plus seven and a half. That's a cover. Against Auburn.
Okay, that's three and two. UNLV, Hawaii. I took Hawaii.
[00:15:47] Speaker B: I know you.
[00:15:47] Speaker A: That was a loss.
Just didn't trust UNLV and Jackson Arnold. That's a game they should have easily won and it ended up doing that. But I don't trust, you know, V. I'm not sure I trust him. This week I took LSU against Clemson.
So I have LSU beating Clemson. That's four and three if we're keeping track. Yeah, I did take Wisconsin.
You know, must have had the same replay guy from Michigan because obviously the guy can't see when somebody's out of bounds recovering a fumble. But hey, we know Jason and you guys had that play as far as our pick, so I, I had to, you know, take the L on that one. I'm fine doing it as long as we win in the contest. So. Nor name the COVID Louisville. I took them plus six and a half against Ole Miss. That was a cover.
So that's five and four and SMU was minus three on our sheet here. Not the Westgate line. That was a push. So 5, 4 and 1 for the week, which is a profitable week if you are following at home.
[00:16:46] Speaker B: It is profitable. I did not like the um V pick did not like the U the cow pick and understood the rest of them. So for our Westgate super contest things I've been building on algorithm on a few apps that are AI backed and so I don't know if you're kind of curious to hear the scores that we got. This is before any of the results popped up.
[00:17:12] Speaker A: I am. I am very curious.
[00:17:14] Speaker B: So it ranked all our seven selections one through seven and gave a score.
[00:17:19] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: And ironically I'm not, I'm not. This is not by. It's not supposed to be biased. It says you know, host A, host B, host C. UNLV got the top score 2 1/2 at A. It does like the hook that's less than a field goal. So that also got some photos and UNLV is a decent team. A lot of. I know there's a little change over the computers trusted UNLV a little bit more on the road. On that A Western Michigan was number two plus 27 and a half. I know all the computers had them getting blown out by Michigan.
This is a powerhouse in the Mac Conference. Their team is pretty loaded actually. I thought this would be a close contest either way. Michigan typically comes out a little fat flat so that was an A minus. I thought the very least even if they get blown out, this could be a backdoor cover. New coaching staff, they're not going to like ring it up like Indiana does. That's why I was afraid of taking the Indiana pick because he does not let the gas off the pedal or the pit off the gas whatever it is. The third pick was actually your Florida State. It actually didn't hate it. It just didn't like so many points.
[00:18:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean the Westgate screwed us on that three and a half line.
[00:18:25] Speaker B: Yeah. So the, the Fresno State plus 21 and a half. It gave it a B plus score.
Miami Florida minus 24 and a half.
Big difference in talent discrepancies.
It I, I think it just doesn't like anything past the 20 point mark on, on the computer. But if they give it a B ranking I, I wasn't really sure what what to think you guys know about these powerhouse, you know discrepancies a little more than I do. I just thought Stanford might have revamped a little bit so I was really tempted to take the points of that. I'm glad Jason took the opposite. SMU minus three and a half. It gave it a B.
So that's the fifth pick.
SMU was pretty dominant last year so I'm not going to blame you on that one, but it is what it is. Notre Dame -20 and a half. It gave it a B minus their opponent.
It's really hit or miss man, how they come out played well.
[00:19:28] Speaker A: Wisconsin played well. In reality, Wisconsin should have probably covered that game. I mean they had that misfortune where the replay guy got it wrong in the pick six. I think if you correct those, it's a much tighter game in Wisconsin would have covered. But for contest purposes, I'm glad Notre Dame did since that was the selection.
[00:19:45] Speaker B: Yeah, same. And then Cal was the bottom one where it just didn't like it just because it's supposed to be a tight contest, new coaches, new regimes and doesn't really, really know how to scale all the transfers that went into both programs.
So it gave it a C plus.
[00:20:02] Speaker A: I'd agree with that. I mean I, I, I went with the home dog and the better quarterback in that matchup. That was my thinking behind it.
The, the new blood going into Cal.
Look at, I think they said it on the broadcast that was the most, most people in attendance in a game in the state of California since USC obviously doesn't know how to fill up a stadium anymore. So I mean congratulations to Cal and UCLA who thought they'd have more people than a USC football game can get. I think they're, I think they're putting up cardboard boxes like they did during COVID because the place is empty.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: So we'll keep track of that stuff.
For those keeping track, we did go four and three in our Westgate super contest, me and Jason, as, as you can hear from the last podcast, we went 40 collectively and Aaron was responsible for the three losses, thus getting a few jabs while he was out of the last pod.
[00:20:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, yeah, funny clip on
[00:20:59] Speaker B: YouTube, tick tock, Instagram, Facebook, all that stuff. So check it out.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: I'm glad, I'm glad you guys carried me there and went to 4 0. I mean my own personal selections. I went 4 and 3 as well. Unfortunately I gave those three games on yours as I do mine, so I don't shy away from it. It is what it is there. But we both went 4 and 3 tied for 103rd place out of what, 778 contestants. So I mean look, we go 4 and 3 or better every week. We're going to possibly be in the mix. So that's, that's the goal.
[00:21:28] Speaker B: Well, based on talking that guy that finished fourth last year, we should because he told me he was wanted something Owen something Two and something.
[00:21:37] Speaker A: So this is, this is a marathon, not a sprint. And I want to get all my losing out of the way early. That's how I look at it right now. So on the week two, like Bill Belichick would say, I'm on to week two.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: I hope so. And then if you guys want, I can review these scores before we submit our things to. You can either go with it or go.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: You basically submit like right before the deadline. So I, I, you know.
[00:22:02] Speaker B: Well, I was contemplating a few other things. You know, I want to take North Texas.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: I want to take my own personal selections.
[00:22:10] Speaker B: I was worried about the Boise though, because everyone said they kind of got depleted and Oregon's supposed to be really, really great.
Boise is still going to be a team to be reckoned with.
Every, every, every game that I was considering, I think would have won.
[00:22:26] Speaker A: I was not Ole Miss. I think you had Ole Miss, but the other ones, I mean, I liked your Western Michigan, you know, unlv. I agree. I think maybe there's some Vegas inside cooking getting that two and a half on the Westgate line because it was three, three and a half everywhere else.
But, you know, he's got a tough game with North Texas. We saw north te. Texas looked against Indiana, so that's an interesting game if they can get that victory.
So. And then you had Western Michigan, which I did. Like 27 and a half points is a lot. Michigan still looks like they haven't had an offense in three years, so it continues.
[00:23:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:23:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:02] Speaker B: That their O line looked really bad.
[00:23:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: I was also considering Washington State, the Ole Miss one.
I was actually gonna do a reverse because I, I just didn't trust it.
Yeah. But. All right, cool. So we got week week one of the books. Week two. I'm gonna pull up your games to watch for week two. We have one for Friday night and then a few for Saturday.

Need to come for with the guys, but. All right, week two, Friday you have Missouri versus Kansas over under 15 and a half.
Missouri five and a half point favorites. This is all according To Westgate?
[00:24:17] Speaker A: No, this is my online book I use.
[00:24:20] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: Westgate just gives a spread for their contest line where they have. I think that's six and a half.
But yeah, I mean like I think once you the other pod gets uploaded. I know Sniper was On the over 50 and a half in this game, which I agree, I think 50 and a half is a good play here. But as I was saying, I'm the play for me here is Kansas getting plus five and a half as well at home. So my strong lean side would be Kansas here plus five and a half. This is the border war.
You know Kansas got the new stadium there, renovations are done, complete. Missouri's coming in first road game and Missouri is one of these teams that usually typically plays like the first six games of the season at home. They don't like to travel on the road. I mean it's not much of a travel here. It's basically like we said, the border war. But I think Kansas comes ready to play. Wouldn't be surprised that they get the upset here at home.
The Westgate line is really enticing there at six and a half as well. But I like Kansas plus five and a half against Missouri on Friday night.
[00:25:23] Speaker B: Nice. Saturday you have Oklahoma, Michigan 43 and a half over under.
[00:25:30] Speaker A: Yeah, 43 and a half over under. Oklahoma's favored by five and a half. I mean look, we all saw what Michigan did on offense but look, no one's really talking about how good that defense was, right? They did not give up a touchdown. Their offense gave them no love. Oklahoma's got a great defense, we all know that. Venables with that defense is great. They're coming off a 510 victory against UTEP.
John Matier, he's healthy for this game. These two teams matched up last year was a low scoring game.
I'm going under 43 and a half. I mean look, I don't think Oklahoma's offense is going to be lightning. Lighten the scoreboard up in this one. They didn't do much against Western Michigan. I mean it took an extra second in a second clock replay guy to give them an extra touchdown in that one. Yeah, Oklahoma here for me if Michigan's going to win this game, Underwood, a lot of design runs. It's going to have to be the key here because Oklahoma, you can run against them if you're using the quarterback. They really don't account for him in the box on their how their schemes are set up. So Underwood is going to have to have a huge game. Not Throwing it, running it. Because Rome, like you touched on Michigan's O line, was beat up by Western Michigan. They're going to struggle here against Oklahoma, but I'm going to go under 43 and a half.
[00:26:42] Speaker B: I like that pick. I really do. If I was doing a lean on this, Michigan has to rebound big time.
[00:26:49] Speaker A: It can't be that bad again, man, I want to be surprised if they cover the side because everybody's. Everyone's got a bad taste in their mouth and everyone's going to say the football karma, they're going to come and get blown out.
[00:27:00] Speaker B: I think Michigan is a potential championship contender though.
[00:27:05] Speaker A: Yeah, we did have him as part of our sleeper teams. I still believe in Oklahoma. I want, I, I like Oklahoma to win this game, but for me, the confident play is on the under 43 and a half.
[00:27:14] Speaker B: I like it. Arizona State, Texas a and M, 50 and a half over under.
[00:27:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I released this on the pod we recorded earlier, but I'm going under 15 and a half. Right. Texas A and M, another great defensive unit team. They gave up zero, I quote, zero points in their last game. Offensively they struggled early, only 10, 13 points in the first half. They're breaking in a new offensive coordinator. They had some good players, Casey Consumption go pro. So they're learning a new system.
Arizona State defensively, I think can, you know, keep this game close. I like I said, I'd be surprised if Arizona State scores beyond 17 points. This is an elite defense from Texas A and M. Secondary is extremely strong, low scoring game. Like I said, I like 27, 17 A&M to win, but I like the under 50 and a half here.

They want you to turn the ball over, then they want to get physical and grind you down. This is, I think a close game in the first half. By the fourth quarter, BYU pulls ahead. I'm going BYU -7 and a half in Provo, Utah to beat the Wildcats of Arizona.

Alabama, Kentucky 49 and a half.
[00:28:59] Speaker A: Big game here and big game here. Will Stein, who took over first game, he's got Kentucky hype. They got A nice win last week. He comes over from the OC of Oregon.
Alabama, young team, first time quarterback in there. Got a lot of running back. Killing Deborah's team. They look pretty good against East Carolina, but Kentucky, can they pull the upset? That's the real question here. I'm pinning Alabama on upset alert. I think Kentucky can play with them. I think Kentucky gives them a game as long as they don't turn the ball over. I think they keep this game close. I like Kentucky plus ten and a half. People believe in Kentucky and if you're not careful, maybe Kentucky's kind of that sneaky team like Indiana was two years ago where they come out of nowhere. I don't think they're going to be that good. The conference I think is too deep, but Kentucky keeps it close. I like Kentucky plus ten and a half at home.

Memphis, Boise State 55.
[00:29:56] Speaker A: Yeah. Disrespect by the bookmakers given Memphis eight and a half points. I mean, look, I know Boise State looked great against Oregon. Not surprised. Oregon's a team that starts slow. They do, they start slow. Memphis put some respect on these guys. They went to UNLV as an underdog one outright in the opener in Week 0.
Came back home, beat Arkansas. Arkansas State last week. They now travel to Boise as an eight and a half point underdog. This game will be less than a touchdown. Take Memphis plus eight and a half. They keep it close. Whoever wins wins by no more than three to five points. I like Memphis getting eight and a half on the road.

Duke, Illinois 51 and a half.
[00:30:37] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, Duke didn't score any points last week. Illinois's breaking in a new defensive coordinator. I think this is a low scoring game. I'm going under 51 and a half. Duke. Only SC scored 17 points against Tulane.
Illinois is better than Tulane now. Duke travels on the road. Illinois really struggled offensively last week. It looks like Duke's got a pretty good defense. Manny Diaz, former defensive coordinator of Miami Hurricanes, he's been a head coach for a few years now.
This to me is a kind of tight, low scoring, 2417 type game. It's got that feel to it. I'm going under 51 and a half.

I mean, they got beat up on the offensive line, defensive line. I mean, they look like a Cinderella team, not a, you know, grinded out, smashing the mouth football team. I was embarrassed by what I saw by Georgia Tech. And now they got a short turnaround against a superior Tennessee team.
I like Tennessee -12 and a half here. I just don't think Georgia Tech is regrouped enough in time. And Tennessee's too quick for him. They like to run the ball. Josh Hypo, he's got to be licking his chops off the film he saw. Because I saw Georgia Tech, I did not recognize that football team.

But look at Julian saying is a better college quarterback than Arch Manning as far as the system goes, all right, he's got better weapons. I trust the coaching staff there. Give me Ohio State plus one and a half. They'll win this game outright in Austin.

And Arch Manning man, if you saw him, he was zipping that ball in different directions on the go, on the run, deep cross on the outside shoulders for the only the receiver can catch it. It was really beautiful. A different looking Manning and they barely lost last year. Man, this Texas team is ready to go. They learned a lot from their up and down season last year.
I think they win by at least by a touchdown.

To me, I think the key for Ohio State, I mean, it's going to come down the line of scrimmage in these big games. But for me, I think Ohio State, Bo Jackson, not that Bo Jackson, but Bo Jackson for Ohio State. The sophomore running back, I think he has a big game running and he leads them to a victory there in the fourth quarter. I think Ohio State leans on the pass game. I think Arch Manning and Sark, the game plan won't be good enough here, but hey, take it a grain of salt.

They did not play well last week. Turn the ball over a lot. You turn the ball over a lot against Utah. Utah will make you pay. I like Utah Here to score a minimum 30, 40 points themselves. I just don't think Arkansas right now that's in a rebuild. First year coach coming over from Memphis here during a rebuild mode. Utah here will capitalize on the mistakes. I like Utah to cover the 12 and a half at home against Arkansas.

It's tough to get. It's tough to pit. I mean that's the problem with Notre Dame is all these power four teams has such tough conferences. Why do you want to schedule Notre Dame? I mean, USC chickened out.

[00:44:22] Speaker A: But at the same token, now since Notre Dame is guaranteed a playoff spot, they finish in the top 12. There's no way they're going to get knocked out of the top 12 unless they lose two games, which is very, very difficult for it to happen. So they're almost guaranteed the at large 70, 80% of the time.
[00:44:39] Speaker B: Yeah, especially with the schedule like this year, it's going to be pretty tough.
Any final comments on college football?
[00:44:48] Speaker A: Yeah, no, not really. I mean I think for the acc, smu, Louisville, decent showings.
I don't know if you guys touched on in Rome, but me and you've been touching on it for two years. Dabo Sweeney's days are numbered at Clemson. He is done.
Stick a fork in him. Look at. There's nobody more happier than Mike Norville at Florida State because his seats already is hot as hell. But at least it can point the dabble and be like hey, you got your ass handed to you by lsu, so it does it. The spotlight's not on Norville at Florida State, but there's going to be a lot of great opening jobs Rome. And I know you don't want to hear it.
