[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Welcome back everybody. This is sources from the sofa. This is Rome. We also have at time to go over Aaron's college games of the week for week four last week. To just recap really briefly, Pretty good week. First good week in college football so far. All above 500 by the way, I believe. Correct. [00:00:27] Speaker A: I think coming into week three we were 500. 10 wins, 10 losses, one push. Yes, but a very good week three. [00:00:37] Speaker B: Yeah. So out of your picks which are always on X and Instagram and Facebook, Aaron's picks went 8 and 3. He gave us 11 plays Friday and Saturday games. I did squeeze them all in onto the graphic. Wasn't happy about that. I don't know why you picked Friday games, man. It really irritates me. [00:00:57] Speaker A: But, but good Friday games, man. There are some good Friday matchups. [00:01:02] Speaker B: There is some good Friday matchups, man. It's a lot better than the NFL what what they're doing for Thursday and sometimes Saturday or like double Mondays. College has been nailing the Friday night live games two and one in the locks. So back to normal, back to business as usual with a 2:1 in the locks. [00:01:23] Speaker A: I think you could be intrigued by the locks this week, Rome. [00:01:26] Speaker B: I can't wait. I can't wait. [00:01:28] Speaker A: I can't wait either. [00:01:30] Speaker B: I can't wait. There's some funny clips on the socials too. Got me talking some smack and Notre Dame soft schedule. Aaron going off on his Florida State team losing out on their bid of upsetting Alabama this past week in week three. Some funny, funny stuff. Check it out. I'm gonna hope to get. [00:01:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean you mentioned I think on the last POD that E was for explicit, but I thought it was for entertaining. I mean because this show is entertaining. [00:01:57] Speaker B: So we got the explicit warning on like one of the platforms. It's pretty funny, but I mean it was a lot of F bombs. I did bleep bleep my was pretty good. It was pretty good. But any comments before we get into the the games? Any college football updates? Anything you want to add since we were last time on the pod? [00:02:18] Speaker A: I mean last time we were on the pod I believe was Monday night. We did a college football recap on those games. I mean, yeah, we got, we got a big weekend slate of games this week. Rome. I I pit 11 games I believe on the list. I could have added a few others. I just kept it off. I know you get kind of mad when it's like 15, 20 games. So I'm trying to keep it between 10 and 12. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Keep it tight. [00:02:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, Friday night we've got. Got a couple good games too, again. So what can you do? What can you do for Friday night? Maybe you could just separate and put one Friday night sheet and then one Saturday. I don't know if that's easier for you, but I could. It's just label Friday night. Friday night lights are under the lights. I don't know, maybe there's a little headline. [00:03:04] Speaker B: You could go there. Maybe. Maybe something to consider. All right, well then this week, as Aaron said, 11 games. We'll start with Friday night. We got Northwestern versus the fifth ranked team in the country, Indiana, 49 and a half over, under. Take it away. [00:03:25] Speaker A: I'm glad you got the ranked teams out there, Rome. I mean, look, Northwestern was a play last week against Colorado, as you might mention. I told you Colorado, Dion, that team was full of gold. That proved to be correct and true after they got blown out at Northwestern. Indiana. I saw Kurt Signetti coming out this week kind of defending his quarterback, Josh Hoover. Remember on the preseason hype? I don't know if that episode's been released, but I wasn't as high on Josh Hoover as some other guys. I mean, talented kid, but he's prone to make mistakes in big games. Say what you want about Chip Kelly, the NFL version, not very good, but the college version is pretty good. He's got new Heisel's kid over there. I kind of joke that Northwestern's coaching staff's the old UCLA coaching staff before the whole desean Foster, that takeover thing happened. But Northwestern's look pretty solid. They're going into Indiana even though Indiana won a national championship last year. When they, when they play bad teams, they're only selling out 80, 90%. You would think those people there would be happy to have a national title team. A program that has won 19 consecutive games dating back to last year, but 21 points is a little disrespectful to me. Rome. Northwestern, I think can keep it within that number. I like Indiana to win, but Northwestern, 21 points. I'm going to take them getting 21 here on the road. [00:04:40] Speaker B: Yeah, that game against Colorado, man, I. I really wanted to pick that and I just couldn't because Northwest hasn't really played anyone either. Colorado did have a decent one over GT and play gt. [00:04:51] Speaker A: Any good? Is GT really any good? [00:04:53] Speaker B: We're gonna find out by this week for sure they haven't got Stanford. [00:04:57] Speaker A: Are you going to that game? [00:04:59] Speaker B: No, I, I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind. I. I think they're Favored just by three points. That's not good. [00:05:05] Speaker A: Three, three and a half, Something like that. Yeah. [00:05:07] Speaker B: That's not good. [00:05:08] Speaker A: Not. That's not good. [00:05:10] Speaker B: Not good at all. But Indiana likes to blow out teams, though, and they don't let their foot off the pedal. I know he stood up for his quarterback a little bit. I'm not really sure what the drama is because he looked pretty decent the first few weeks, [00:05:23] Speaker A: but I think Indiana's not. They're not just. They're not blowing people out like they did last year. I mean, they had a rough week. I mean, they've won big, but it hasn't looked dominating fashion like it did last year. I mean, Western Kentucky is a bad football team. That was kind of a scrimmage game for them. They were favored by, I believe, 44 and a half, whatever that number was. They. They won. They cruised. Nothing to get up for. For that game. We got a short week. You got Northwestern coming in, but look at North Texas put up a pretty decent fight. I mean, the score is a little lopsided, but North Texas has proven to be pretty solid to start the year. They've got some nice WINS, but look, 21 points, a lot of points here. Northwestern was kind of competitive towards the end of last year. They've upgraded the team this year. I think they can keep it within three touchdowns. [00:06:13] Speaker B: I mean, 49 and a half seems pretty low, too. I'd be tempted to get the over because I imagine Indiana's gonna score at least 30 to 35 that range. And I think Northwestern can at least get two or three touchdowns to kind [00:06:25] Speaker A: of COVID the rest of that 3517. That's a 52 total. Not out of the question, Rome. [00:06:31] Speaker B: Yeah. All right, next game. Clemson versus Cal here in Berkeley, where I'm at 50 and a half over under. [00:06:40] Speaker A: Big game, man. Big game here for Cal. Look, I mean, Clemson did us dirty last week, Rome. I mean, I. I did take them, but they did us dirty in the Westgate contest. You had North Carolina, who until that lightning weather delay, was really in control of that game. I mean, that was essentially two football games in one with that three plus hour delay. So Clemson literally took about six and a half hours to get that victory. Dabo. I mean, look, the seat is hot. It really is. This team's not playing very well. They were fortunate to pull out a win against North Carolina. Cal talked about this team coming into the season. I liked them. Week one against UCLA. They didn't get that job done. But UCLA's proven to be legit here to start this opening month, Cal's looking for a signature win. That new coaching staff, they've been looking for one. What better way to bring yourself into the ACC than get a home victory over Clemson? I'm going Cal to beat Clemson. Look, Cal's been playing pretty well despite the UCLA loss. They had a tuneup game against Wagner last week. They will beat Clemson at home Friday night. [00:07:49] Speaker B: Saturday you got my UCLA Bruins 1/2 point favorites on the road against Maryland, 56 1/2 over under. [00:07:59] Speaker A: Gotta say Rome. I mean this game has trap written all over. UCLA has not left the state of California to play a game yet. They're traveling. [00:08:07] Speaker B: Baltimore, long trip. [00:08:09] Speaker A: It's a long trip. It's a long trip. And it's a 10:30am kickoff. 10:30am Kickoff. This line has kind of gone from two to one and a half our time. 10:30 our time. So 130 Eastern. Yeah. [00:08:23] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. Never mind. That's not that bad. [00:08:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So I mean it is kind of bad because UCLA did finish Saturday night. They gave finished up like midnight. I was watching it against Purdue. Unfortunately they didn't cover the. The hook there in that game. But UCLA, look, they ran for what I mentioned, 367 yards on the last podcast. Their passing defense was terrible in that game. Maryland was a team I was on last week. They did make dirty when they could not beat Virginia Tech. Look, I think UCLA is better than Virginia Tech. This game has for trap written all over it. But I believe in ucla. I believe in what they're doing. I believe in the run game. I think the defense will be better this week. I'm taking UCLA on the road to go to 40 and beat Maryland. A coach that's on the hot seat, his seat's only going to get hotter. I think the Bruins continue to ride the momentum defense. Run game will be the difference. Give me the Bruins here, minus one and a half. [00:09:17] Speaker B: Big game. Here we go to the number one ranked team of the country, Texas, 4 1/2 point favorite over number 1410 N C 55 1/2 over under. [00:09:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Not many times does a Manning go into Tennessee and get booed, that's for sure. But this will be the case when Arch leads Texas. Look, this line opened at five and a half. It's down to four and a half. So it seems like the sharp wise guys like Tennessee early in this line. I don't. I think Texas is going to go in there and make a statement. Look at. They played Ohio, State, didn't play well. Fourth quarter Arch Manning, great comeback. We all know about that last week against utsa. University of Texas, San Antonio, who's a solid squad. They only beat them 30 to 6. Like I said, take San Antonio plus 30. They'll cover because Texas is, you know, a little bit of hangover celebration. All that Tennessee coming off a buy after beating GT the week before. But look at Tennessee's young. They're starting a true freshman at quarterback. Their defense is very young and inexperienced. To me I'm going Texas here. I think their defense for Texas is the key. They can stop the run game from Tennessee, which you're going to have to anytime Josh Hypo and Tennessee get that run game going, they get that RPO action going, you got to be able to stop that. Texas defense I think will be the key in this one and their run game. Expect Arch Manning to make some big plays when needed. I'm going Texas on the road minus four and a half. [00:10:44] Speaker B: I would lead on under on this one. 55 and a half. That seems a little high for this group unless it's a shootout. But that Texas D I just don't see it happening. [00:10:53] Speaker A: Going to be tough. [00:10:54] Speaker B: Number 17 Iowa against number 18 Michigan. Technically two on one or the people's eyes two and one 39 and a [00:11:05] Speaker A: half over come out and say that they it was a loss but I think we talked about they can't reverse it. [00:11:12] Speaker B: If they can't reverse it then why even bother like it it did no one any good. You know I don't know. [00:11:18] Speaker A: Didn't you mention Rome on the last part? I think it was you that it's funny the NCAA can take away records and win losses at the end of the season but can't do it during [00:11:26] Speaker B: people are criticizing them and you know, like oh so they can go back and strip championships and bowl games and victories out of coaches records and the school but they can't reverse one win. [00:11:36] Speaker A: Where didn't they strip Joe Paul, Joe paterno of like 30 plus victories or something? [00:11:42] Speaker B: Get out of here. Like there's such a joke and it's just embarrassment. But tough matchup. [00:11:50] Speaker A: Tough matchup. This might be a 30 game. Whoever scores first wins. Look Michigan defensively Romy touched on it. Their demons have been really good. But Iowa's defense has been really good too. And neither one of these teams really lights up the scoreboard offensively when they playing against anybody competitive. Look, Michigan did score, I don't know, 40, 50 point. I think it was 52. They dropped on UTEP last week. But UT. UTEP's bad. I mean, UTEP is really bad. Like Oklahoma scored 51 on them and they can't even get anything going offensively. I'm going to take the points here, the five and a half. I think it's a close game. Probably a field goal type game here as well. You know, 38 and a half's a low under under. But I see this game probably being somewhere between 23, 20, 2017, somewhere that. Matt, I'm going to take the five and a half. As long as Iowa doesn't turn the ball over, I believe they can cover and even win. For me, the key will be which defense is able to force turnovers or create short field opportunities. That's the key in this game. I just think Iowa having Kurt Friends there, the coach, he's been there a long time, 20 plus years, he'll have this team up ready to play. Maybe his leadership and experience in that program's a difference to get Iowa over the top. But I'll take him plus the points. [00:13:04] Speaker B: No comment on this one. I, you know, I've rooted for Michigan for a long time, but that, but that game really turned out. [00:13:12] Speaker A: You're a Western Michigan guy. Rome. I think you're Western Michigan guy. I'm going to get to that game later. [00:13:16] Speaker B: I don't know, it's just that wind really rubbed me the wrong way and I haven't, I haven't got that sour taste in my mouth yet. I'm not like Dave Porter, you know. Brian, how great of a win it was. So a little tougher for me. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Number four about their Western Michigan being a great win. Yeah, you know, I mean when you, when you're four touchdown favorite, there's no such thing as a great win. When you, you get an extra second to play. [00:13:38] Speaker B: I mean. All right, next game. Ole Miss, number one on some people's rankings. Which is why I kind of want you to do your own top 10, 15 college football rankings. Because that's tough, man. There's like a bunch of people pushing out their own, but ole Ms. Number four on the road against your second or third team, it seems like Florida number 21. Yeah. So they jumped into the rankings for the first time, I think in a couple years. You see you wrote down a couple things, right? [00:14:17] Speaker A: Ole Miss plus three. [00:14:18] Speaker B: Okay. [00:14:19] Speaker A: Florida Moneyline minus 155 and the over, under 58 and a half. [00:14:26] Speaker B: That's really interesting. All right, break it down. [00:14:29] Speaker A: So the reason why I put down the money line, Florida because that's what I'm on. I'm not touching the points in this game. Wow. This game's going back and forth between three, three and a half. I like Florida to win. I don't, I don't know if they're going to win by one. I don't know if they're going to win by five or six, but I'm not touching the points here. I'm taking Florida on the money line. Minus155. This game's in Gainesville. Florida's coming off a huge win at Auburn. Covering the spread there. Ole Miss. I mean, look, they just had their super bowl of a game. A game they've been hyped up for all year against LSU and Lane Kiff and everybody knows about it. Now they travel on the road for really, what is their first row true road game. I mean, if you've ever been to Gainesville, it's a hundred thousand screen screaming fans. It's a crazy place and they haven't been happy in a long time. If you remember Rome, there's a team called Texas. Arch Manning went there last year and they got be and that was not a good Florida team. So you know, that place can get rowdy. They'll be drinking. There's a reason why Georgia and Florida play the greatest cocktail party outside. These guys know how to drink down there in Florida and I think they're going to be drinking all night after they beat Ole Miss. Look, Trinidad Chambliss is great. I think he's the best player in college football right now, quarterback wise. But that defense for Ole Miss, they got up for lsu. I think it's going to be tough for golden to get these guys up again. Florida gets a huge, huge, huge win. Take Florida on the money line and hey, I might double dip and take Ole Miss if it gets to three and a half, four points. I did that last week with Houston, plus the points. Tech on the money line. A little, little double play, a little double dip. [00:16:06] Speaker B: But I like Florida here. I mean, why not? Why not? Next game, Boise State, seven point favorites against Western Michigan, 49 and a half over under. [00:16:19] Speaker A: So you got Boise State, Jason's team, Boise State Broncos against Rome's new team here, Western Michigan Broncos. That's the reason why I got it this on this game. Interesting note that Boise State's coach came out and said literally this week, hey, this team's undefeated. They beat Michigan. We all know we're taking it serious. Wow, he came out. And another thing, why you got to take this Serious. Depending on what the College Football Playoff committee considers Western Michigan undefeated or not. I believe they do. [00:16:44] Speaker B: I think they do. [00:16:46] Speaker A: This is a possible power group of six to get in to the college football playoffs. [00:16:51] Speaker B: Oh, both these guys. [00:16:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Look at Boise State's only losses against Oregon. [00:16:55] Speaker B: Look at it. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Say what you want. Playing up at Oregon's tough as hell. I don't care how bad or well Oregon is playing. And Western Michigan essentially undefeated. And I think Rome, I pointed this out when we talked on the conversation. I've been. I've been following a trend in college football and it's teams that are favored by a touchdown or more on the road are on a neutral site game are only 6 and 13 against the number this year. So you've got a better than 65% chance taking the home dog when they are getting more than seven points. I'm taking Western Michigan here, getting seven points. [00:17:32] Speaker B: Wow. [00:17:35] Speaker A: I want to be surprised they pull the upset here as well. This team, this team I think is legit. They're going to ride the wave and they're. They're going to find a way to cover maybe even when I like Western Michigan +7. [00:17:46] Speaker B: I think this is going to be a pretty tight game. I imagine this is going over the four and a half as well. [00:17:53] Speaker A: I love. I'd love to hear what your analytics. When you put the program into your program there, Rome, when it spits out. But I'd be curious what it says. [00:18:01] Speaker B: I'll do it tonight and I'll send you a text. [00:18:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:04] Speaker B: I just inputted our results from last week and I was kind of shocked. It's like I really like these picks. What happened? It was really surprised with the record. It liked our chance of having a, you know, maximum two losses. [00:18:22] Speaker A: So we should have been no worse than five and two. Realistically six and one. [00:18:26] Speaker B: Yeah. So all good. At least the numbers were on our side. That's all I can say. [00:18:33] Speaker A: That's all you can ask for. [00:18:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Next game, Oklahoma against number two Georgia. People haven't been really talking about them lately, which I find that kind of odd. Over under 44 and a half. Georgia favorite by 14. What happened to Oklahoma? [00:18:50] Speaker A: A lot's happened to Oklahoma. Rome, you've asked me for kind of my top 10, top 15. I'll give you my number one team. It is Georgia. I will say that Georgia is my number one team in my power rankings. Look, Oklahoma offensively has looked bad, obviously the Michigan game. But look, they played, they played a good New Mexico team. People kind of sleeping on New Mexico. New Mexico's been pretty good here the last two years. New Mexico last year even went into Michigan, gave them a dog fight. But 14 points is a lot here. I mean, Oklahoma still has a pretty goddamn good defense, last I checked. Offensively, they haven't done much, but Georgia hasn't played anybody. I mean, I know they did beat up on Arkansas, but look at Utah. Beat the crap out of them. I mean, everybody's scoring 40, 50 points on Arkansas. So that's not saying I'm going with the Sooner Booner here. I'm taking Oklahoma plus 14. It's just too many points for me. The defense can keep it close. Can John Mateer have one of those games that gets him back in the conversation as one of the top quarterbacks in college football? Kind of seems like we're being quiet on him the last two weeks after that letdown game against Michigan. For me, this is a huge game for Oklahoma. They'll come out fired up, they'll keep it close, they'll cover the 14. [00:19:58] Speaker B: It's at Georgia, huh? [00:19:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:00] Speaker B: Okay. I don't know what to think about this one. I know Oklahoma's underperformed so far. [00:20:07] Speaker A: No doubt, no doubt. [00:20:08] Speaker B: A little dip, the performance from their promising quarterback from last year. But next game, number 19, Missouri against number 24, Mississippi State, who had a big statement win last week over under 58 and a half. [00:20:25] Speaker A: Yeah, they had a big win. And this, this is a sneaky, sneaky good game. I mean, look, I, you know me, Rome, I've been high on Mississippi State. There's a couple other college football pundits out there that are kind of jumped on my bandwagon in the Mississippi State bandwagon. But Missouri's. Look at. No, no one's given Missouri really any respect. They went on the miss, they went into Kansas Friday night, two weeks ago, got a win, got a little scrimmage game this last week didn't look good, but that's understandable. Kind of a look ahead to this game. Mississippi State started slow against South Carolina, down a couple scores, got back in the game, showed that explosive offense. But I'm going to take Missouri getting points here. I like Mississippi State to win, Missouri to cover. I think with six and a half's a lot of points. Missouri has shown, you know, Eli Drinkwitz, he's always got these boys up for some big games. This is Mississippi State's biggest game that they are favored in to win probably since pre Covid. Man, they've not been, they haven't been good in A long time since Dan Mullen basically was gone from that place. Dag Prescott, if you can remember those days. [00:21:28] Speaker B: I mean, I actually don't ever remember Mississippi State ever being good. I just. I just have no memory. [00:21:33] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. That's a lot of people out there. I just. But people are going to start taking notice. I like Mississippi State to win a close game. Missouri to cover the six and a half points. This might. This might be one of those shootout games where it's 34, 30 at the end of the night. [00:21:47] Speaker B: Yeah. The over under is pretty high, so I'm really curious. I'm gonna definitely have to watch this game whenever it comes. On next game. Number 23, Texas A N against number 10, LSU. 52 over. Under LSU, favored by nine points. At home. [00:22:08] Speaker A: At home. [00:22:08] Speaker B: Yes, at home. [00:22:10] Speaker A: So, Romans, if you've been listening to the show for three years, it's no surprise. I do have a love affair of Texas A M. Yeah. You know, but I was. I was down on them coming into this year. You did, you know, wasn't as high. They're coming off a. A disappointing loss at home against Kentucky. Look, there's no excuse for them to do what they did last week against Kentucky. Lsu, coming off an emotional game against Ole Miss, got lost. Some players lost a starting cornerback in that game and lost a really big tight end, Green as well, which I think is going to come back and hurt him a little bit in this. Sam Levitt did not look good throwing the ball. You know, he made some big runs. He got some stuff going in the second half. [00:22:45] Speaker B: He's your Achilles heel. He's not that good. [00:22:49] Speaker A: He's a lot of Jekyll and Hyde, man. I mean, there's some highs and there's some low moments with him, and that's what you got to be worried about. But these last two games, he's not looked great. He's not looked great against Louisiana Tech, and he did not look too good against Ole Miss. But he did. He did make some plays in the second half to get him in that game. But the run game let them down. A m embarrass, like I said, against Kentucky, I'm going to take A and M getting nine points here on the road. Look, this is a proud, proud program Mike Elko has on defense. He's going to want to step up to stop the run. He's going to have to be smart, have a spy in against the quarterback like Mississippi did. Ole Miss did a good job of basically spying Sam Levitt to limit his running ability. I think A and M is going to have to do the same again. Force LSU to become a passing offense. If you can take away the run, they're not that good in the past game right now. And for A and M, which does worry me, Marcel Reed in this office has not been very good. LSU's defense is really good. Yeah, Trinidad Chambles had some good numbers, but that's an elite college quarterback. Marcel Reed is still not at that level. That's what scares me in this game. But nine points is a lot. I'm going to ride the ag. He's here to cover, but LSU to win. [00:23:59] Speaker B: I agree. I definitely agree. Texas A, they have a lot of talent. They had a lot of guys coming back. Marcel Reed, just like Oklahoma, it's been like a down year. It's been kind of weird. You usually don't see that too much in college football. It's not like the NFL where there could be a bunch of reasons. But, yeah, we talked. [00:24:17] Speaker A: We talked about this in Vegas Realm. We talked about how college football is becoming a lot more like the NFL. Of all the transfers, nil, everybody's. I think you're going to have programs, you know, one year you might win 8, 9, 10 games, and the next year you might be 6 and 7. I think the days of dominating and consistently winning 10, 11, 12 games outside of really like an Ohio State, Georgia, Texas is starting to get in that mix. You know, it's gonna be a lot of up and downs. [00:24:42] Speaker B: I mean, a lot of ads, a lot of schools are out to come back down to reality and realizes the new wave of college football now. [00:24:48] Speaker A: I think fans, too. Yeah, I mean, I think fans. I mean, look at, I mean, Indiana. I mean, Indiana could still lose two or three games this year, and they may lose four games next year. You just got to get realistic. Like, hey, if we're in the playoff every other year, every third or fourth year, be happy. Because that's maybe the trend we're racing for. [00:25:06] Speaker B: Well, the preseason, I did have Ohio State losing three or four games, so [00:25:11] Speaker A: it's a possibility, man. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Yeah. All right, last game on the slate for Arians College ball games Plays of the week. Number 20, Oregon, three point favorites on the road in Los Angeles at the infamous Coliseum against number 12, USC. 62 and a half over under. [00:25:37] Speaker A: Wow. [00:25:38] Speaker B: It's a shootout. [00:25:39] Speaker A: I wrote 62 and a half. I hope I wrote that down correct, but me too. I gotta double check my notes on this room. Let me see if I got them up, because that is a high number I got 62 and a half is the number now. And that's what you got. Look, I think usc, we talked about it last week, a trap game at Rutgers. It kind of played out the way we expected it to. Oregon played Portland State. They won that game 84 to nothing. I think they scored a touchdown the first 12 possessions. Everything looked good. Even your boy Riola got In there was 11 for 11. So we saw him. [00:26:14] Speaker B: At least they got embarrassed before and just took it out on poor Portland State. [00:26:18] Speaker A: And I'm glad the odds makers are undervaluing USC here because this game should be a pick on. And you're going to give me three points at home. The Trojans, look, this might be the first sellout crowd there at the, at the Coliseum. We'll see, we'll find out. Hopefully people can get out there. It is a Saturday, no excuse for traffic on a Friday. Like they had the game against. It was the Fresno State. I think that was on a Friday. But look, Oregon, Dan Lanning, like I said, he's got two new coordinators. They haven't looked great. They're going on the road. Surprised to see them a three point favorite. USC is a young team, obviously still learning, but I'm going to go with the Petrosians here. I think they get the win. I think they went out right. The offense is going to play a big role obviously in this game. But their defense, can their young playmakers, young freshmen on both sides of the ball, offensive even step up and make enough plays? I believe they do. Dan Lanning, he's probably going to do something stupid, maybe go for it like midway through the fourth quarter instead of punting it, taking the Trojans to win here, give me the three points. [00:27:17] Speaker B: Wow, that would shake things up so much and just put Oregon season and [00:27:24] Speaker A: you talked about team, you talked about a program losing three or four games. Rome, you mentioned Ohio State. It might just be Oregon. We're gonna find out. [00:27:33] Speaker B: If they lose against usc, they lose this game. [00:27:35] Speaker A: I don't see Oregon not at least losing two more games. [00:27:38] Speaker B: It just like the. Even if they are more talented than every other team is just a morale thing. Like that's what you know. It's just a human aspect of football. Losing two games when no one expected you to or maybe you didn't expect yourself can really unravel a really good. Even the best athletes out there. That's why very few rise to the top. It's very hard. So even Westbrook has something to say. [00:28:03] Speaker A: I mean, yeah, he's even sticking his head up there. Hey, look, when you lose two elite coordinators like Oregon did, the coach, you know, one going to Cal, the D coordinator, the O coordinator, Stein going to Kentucky, it's tough, you know, because you got so many new players coming in. Everybody's kind of learning. You got new coaches. You don't have that trust factor. I mean, look at Bo Nix was basically almost a bum there in college when he was at Auburn. He gets Will Stein at Oregon and becomes a first round draft pick. So coaching makes a big, big difference, especially your coordinators at any level. But I think specifically in college, look at the turnaround Kentucky's had with Will Stein and look where Oregon's going. I don't know if Dan Lenning has the right guys there right now as coordinators, but I like what USC is doing. This is a game Lincoln Riley needs to win. It's a statement game for usc. They haven't had one since Caleb left there and they went 11, 2 and were ranked in the top five. This is a game that makes people think that USC can really contend in the Big Ten and in the College Football Playoff. They need to win. I believe they get it done. [00:29:04] Speaker B: Wow. All right, time for locks of the week. [00:29:08] Speaker A: Locks of the week, Rome. I'm. I'm. This is where it gets interesting. I told you I had a special for you, you know, to live and die in California. Give me Cal, give me ucla. Give me usc. Those are my three locks this week. [00:29:24] Speaker B: Wow. [00:29:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:29:28] Speaker B: I love it. Cal, UCLA and usc. [00:29:34] Speaker A: Let's do it, man. [00:29:35] Speaker B: Let's do it. Any other comments? [00:29:39] Speaker A: Think. I think I'm good. I mean, we're, you know, hopefully we can bounce back this week. In the Westgate college football super contest we took, you know, as you kind of hinted, we did go 3 and 4 in that, but realistically should have been 5, 2, 6 and 1. Worst case. Like you said, the numbers analytics added up. The odds were in our favor. Let's see if we can get it back this week. Let's see if we can do it. [00:30:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I got nothing to add. Maybe we, we can debut your college football power rankings next week. After week four. [00:30:12] Speaker A: I can give you ten teams next week. [00:30:14] Speaker B: All right. I love it. Why not? [00:30:18] Speaker A: Why not? [00:30:19] Speaker B: Why not? [00:30:19] Speaker A: I will, I will say this. If Ole Miss happens to win at Florida, they probably should be ranked number one in the country. [00:30:26] Speaker B: I mean, at least number two like that, you know, based on, like, how the polls have voted in years past. Usually it takes like a Texas loss or like a really close Game like, like if Texas. [00:30:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:41] Speaker B: Was too close for comfort for Tennessee and Ole Miss completely dominated Florida, then. Yeah. They definitely have more impressive wins than any other team, that's for sure. [00:30:49] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, you're talking. If Ole Miss does beat Florida, you're talking wins over Louisville, LSU and Florida, all good teams. That's three. Your first four games. [00:30:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:59] Speaker A: I mean, and to be honest, all three of those teams, Louisville still isn't a playoff mix there in the acc, so that's quite impressive. I mean, look, Texas would still have some nice wins too of Ohio State and Tennessee, but I don't, I don't think Tennessee's. I think Tennessee's a little overvalued here. I'm surprised that line's coming down, but maybe it comes back to what we've always talked about. Sark not calling the big game during the big game. So we'll find out. That comes back to backfire against them. Yeah, I, that's what's always concerned me about Texas. I just. Sorry, Arch. [00:31:32] Speaker B: Manny, man, like, I would think if they're the number one team in the country playing against Tennessee, this line should at least be six and a half, maybe seven and a half. Something's not adding up. [00:31:41] Speaker A: To me, it came out like five and a half. I saw it five and a half early in the week. I marked it down. I liked it even at five and a half. I like it more at four, four and a half. We'll see if it gets lower. But interesting game there. And another trend, Rome. Like I like I touched on the, the, the favorites on the road by a touchdown or more on the road or neutral site. Games are 6 and 13 against the spread this year. There's 13 games this week that line up with that probability. So I'm going to keep an eye on and see if this is a trend that we can exploit and take advantage of. [00:32:17] Speaker B: There's an interesting trend we're following a few betters online on X and they've noticed every time ESPN heavily favorites a team and Vegas gots the opposite. So like they're like 60% favorite to win a game and Vegas has the opposite, whatever that is. Vegas is winning at a 80 something percent clip. [00:32:42] Speaker A: So there's a, there's a reason why ESPN is losing all that money. Rome. [00:32:47] Speaker B: I sent you a tweet about it, but yeah. [00:32:49] Speaker A: And there was a game on there that I mentioned as part of one of our games this week. Cal, Clemson. [00:32:54] Speaker B: It is. [00:32:54] Speaker A: So it is. [00:32:58] Speaker B: I take it. All right, so that'll do it for college football. Aaron's college football games and plays of the week. I guess that's what we're calling it for week four. Catch the sofa. Wise guys. We're doing that tomorrow Thursday. So you'll probably get that Thursday afternoon. That's with Sniper West. And Aaron, we'll probably talk a little more gambling on that show since that is more sports betting gambling focused. And then lines of the guys for Week 3 in the NFL that comes out by Friday. So follow us on social media, Facebook. Tick Tock. [00:33:34] Speaker A: Tick Tock. [00:33:35] Speaker B: People are finally watching our clips. So if you're on Tick Tock, give us a follow.
