[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Everybody, this is sources from the sofa. It is time for College Football Week 3. We have a brand new selection of games from Aaron Toler, my co host. Today it's just the two of us. Jason's out of town. Seems like he's been out of town for like the last couple of college football things. I don't know. As long as he's here for the lines of the guys, that's all that matters. [00:00:28] Speaker A: Yeah, man, I mean, maybe he's stressing out the fantasy baseball league coming down to the wire. [00:00:32] Speaker B: How is that going on? [00:00:34] Speaker A: It's, you know, I'll let him comment when he gets back, but it's, it's getting tight. [00:00:39] Speaker B: It's not good. [00:00:40] Speaker A: It's getting tight, man. Yeah, he had a five point lead last I looked down to one one man going against another 3x3 time champion. So hey, you know, you gotta learn to close this league out. It's tough, but wishing him the best. We'll, we'll talk to him maybe Sunday, Monday, next week. And as the final weeks here approaches in baseball, but he's released some of his college football plays. We'll get into that overall good weekend for us in the super contest. Westgate 4 and 3, another winning week, 8 and 6 overall, tied for 118th place in that contest out of 778 contestants. So I feel good, man. I mean if we're taking four out of three profit or better every week, you know, we'll go from there and see what happens. But so far it's been good for us. [00:01:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's like, I think last year we came out a little bit more on fire. But you know, as long as we're winning because we had three bad weeks, that's. [00:01:43] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean I did the math. I looked at us last week, our last year, eight weeks into the contest, we were 35 and 21, which is about 62, 63%. That's got us in the top 30, if you remember. Yeah. And in the last six weeks, you know, we can, we can put those to bed because they were not good. We had, we had a couple 1 and 6, 2 and 5 weeks as you just mentioned, and we didn't, we didn't finish strong. But we've come out the gate. You know, on the plus side, it's going to take about 60 plus percent or better to probably finish in the top 10, 62, 63 to win it. But we'll see what happens. We talked to a guy in Vegas who said, hey, the first three weeks was not good for him in the contest. And he finished fourth. So it's. It's early. We're on the. We're on the plus side. We'll see what happens. [00:02:30] Speaker B: We'll see what happens. Just to recap on week two, how do we do for your games? By the way, I'm thinking about changing the name because, like, Games to Watch just doesn't really. I liked how we did Games of the Week last year, but Games to Watch doesn't really sell it either. I feel like we got to come with a different name because these are basically like plays. These are plays. [00:02:56] Speaker A: Yeah, we could do that. I mean, whatever. Whatever. Selling to the public. I mean, they are kind of Games of the week to watch or games I think most of the public will be interested in. We went on Friday. We lost with Kansas. It was a sharp play. That line went from six and a half to four. But unfortunately, Kansas did not show up in the second half. Yeah, Saturday we did go five and five. So five and six overall for the week in. In our plays. 10, 10 wins, 10 losses, one one push so far on the year. But we're back on 11 plays this week. Feeling confident in these plays. I think we're. I think we get seven to eight wins this week. I feel good. [00:03:36] Speaker B: So it was five and six last week. [00:03:39] Speaker A: Yes. [00:03:39] Speaker B: Okay. Got it. Well, for those that do not know, we do have a new podcast from sources from the SOFA podcast called the Sofa Wise guys. We record that every Wednesday evening and so that should be out as well around the same time as this pod comes out. There is some college football plays on that. We'll probably have a game or two kind of overlapping with this as well as some NFL sniper. West was eager to talk NFL today for whatever reason going over many, many overs. So if you're feeling kind of risky, check it out. Don't do what I did. Put money on the packers when they're leading by 20 something in the third quarter and guarantee that they're going to win over five and a half like those side props bets can get you. And it got me because it wiped out a good day's worth of work. And I haven't opened that app since then, so. But a nice little parlay 10 bucks, put all of snipers overs on there. [00:04:43] Speaker A: Might be kind of fun Snipers on the over. I mean, that was a trend that was popular in the NFL in week one as that was the most points scored since the merger back in the 1970s. So, yeah, he looks like he's riding the over again. In fact, I think every lean he gave was the over, so everything was over. Yeah, we'll, we'll see how that goes. [00:05:00] Speaker B: I, I, I, I think some defense is going to tie it up this week, but we'll see. Which one's that? Those are. [00:05:05] Speaker A: I think there's one or two games. I agree with you, Rome. I think there could be some under. I mean, he, we'll get into the NFL talk tomorrow. Break that down a little more. [00:05:14] Speaker B: 100. Yeah. So check out the Wise Guys. It's a once a week show. It is still part of the source for the Sofa podcast stream. You know, feed on like Spotify, Apple podcasts, wherever you listen to your podcast, iHeartRadio, etc. Etc. It does have its own socials. We're still playing around with some logos and some looks, but follow the Sofa Wise Guys on X as well as Instagram and Undecided on a separate YouTube channel. But they're gonna just be on our YouTube channel for now since, you know, [00:05:52] Speaker A: probably keep the same one. We only have to, what, 16? [00:05:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:56] Speaker A: So the views seem to be going up, though. [00:05:59] Speaker B: Views are definitely going up. [00:06:00] Speaker A: We've had hit that, like, button, people. Stop playing around. [00:06:03] Speaker B: We've had 9,000 people see our content this week, so. [00:06:07] Speaker A: This week, 9,000? Yeah. And what, two, two people liked it? Come on, man, that's, that's ridiculous. [00:06:13] Speaker B: We got to get some engagement here. But yeah, check that out. The Sofa Wise Guys once a week. It is a source from the Sofa podcast with Aaron Sniper west and myself hosting. All right, back to College Football Week 3. Let's pull up your infamous yellow notepad. By the way, we have some graphics out on the socials. Aaron's college football preview. We know we're going into week three and still pushing out some stuff out. We have one more thing to push out. I think it's coaches on the hot seat. We can hold off for now. [00:06:51] Speaker A: Rome. I, look, I'll get, I'll get more into that, but I think one of the coaches on the hot seat could get fired this weekend. I'll break that down here. I'll break that down. [00:07:01] Speaker B: Try to get a clip on that. All right, so week three, college football games of the week, plays of the week, hand selected by Aaron Toller. It is Friday, Miami minus 21, Wake Forest over under 51 and a half. Aaron. [00:07:23] Speaker A: Yeah. You got a big ACC match up here. I mean, our boy Jay Z released his top two college plays. He text us. He's got Miami this weekend. He's riding The Hurricanes, he wrote them in week one to a big win over Stanford. Look, Miami scored what, 77 points last Thursday and in a scrimmage against a JV team that they probably paid like 2.5 million to show up to Hard Rock Stadium and take an ass whipping. Wake Forest 20 this year coming off a nice triple overtime win against Purdue. [00:07:54] Speaker B: Yep. [00:07:54] Speaker A: But look, Miami's one of the best teams right now in the country. There's no doubt about it. They got some guys that are right now our Heisman front runners. The quarterback, the wide receiver and Tony, I like Miami here minus 21. I'm gonna ride with Jay Z or guy like Wake Forest is. I just don't think has the offensive weapons to keep up with these guys. They have been scoring some points. 51 1/2 looks enticing too. So. So I gotta lean towards the over 51 and a half. But I think the best play on the board here is Miami to cover 21 on the road at Wake Forest. [00:08:26] Speaker B: Nice. So Miami minus 21. Next game, Houston. Texas Tech over under 56 and a half. [00:08:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean we did a lot of breakdown of this on the sofa. Wise guys, me and your boy sniper west, we're both on Houston +7 and a half. I think you mentioned this is the first Friday night at Texas Tech in Lubbock since 1941. As mentioned, Texas Tech, Texas football, big, big high school town. So Friday nights usually dedicated to that Rome. You said a lot of the people from Lubbock look like me. I guess that's maybe where my ancestors are from, who knows. But look, I love me some Texas Tech, but this can be a tight game. Houston last year got blown out by these guys. Texas Tech has struggled to look anything like they did last year coming off a close win in Corvallis against Oregon State. Houston's look sharp. Their coaching staff has put together a nice solid program and team going forward. Close game. I like Tech to win, but I like Houston to cover the seven and a half. [00:09:26] Speaker B: Nice. And sniper does go into death on the sofa, wise guys. So if you haven't checked out the other show, check it out because it'll be streaming on all platforms as well as YouTube. All right, two games in the books for Friday with the Saturday games not as entertaining as weeks past in my opinion. We do have a pretty big game or two that I'm looking forward to at least trying to decide when to take my daughter golfing. It's gonna be based around because I can't take a golf on Sunday. It's gonna be around the college football day. [00:09:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean Rome. That's right. I mean unless you go pick her up on a Thursday, you guys sneak off on a Friday. That's up to you how you want to work that schedule out. But first game on the slate is Arizona State -5 1/2 against Kansas. This game's in London playing at Wembley Stadium. So they're going across the, they're going across the pond obviously. Kansas played Friday night against Missouri. Arizona State traveled from Texas A and M to Dallas. Dallas to London. So look at. I very rarely do we seen in season week three game across the pond international. I guess college is getting in on the NFL flavor here. I guess it's a new thing. Usually that's a week zero type thing where these college kids are playing in Dublin and wherever the hell they want to go. But look, Arizona State looked pretty good against Texas A and M. I mean that score is a bit misleading. It was a close game. You had two pick sixes by Texas A&M in the fourth quarter. You had a muff punt by Arizona state inside the 10. They basically gift wrapped to Texas a him 21 points. I watched Kansas last week. We were on them. I didn't like their quarterback. The guy's undersized. He's about as tall as me. New Roman. He doesn't throw a good ball. Everything's high. Not very accurate. I think Arizona State's better than what I thought after watching the tape on them last week. I like them even in London to cover the five and a half. So give me the Sun Devils minus five and a half to beat the Kansas Jayhawks in London. [00:11:14] Speaker B: There's a. Someone put out a really cool graphic on all FBS schools with the most like what's everyone's attendance or how many students they got per camp is Arizona State leads the whole pack with 80,000 plus students. [00:11:32] Speaker A: Isn't that like the number one party school them in San Diego State? Aren't they battling back and forth with that number one ranking every year? [00:11:37] Speaker B: Used to be pretty up there. If you're in the backwoods country. Chico State, it's not going to be ranked on anybody's things but that's a low key party school up in the Humble mountains. [00:11:47] Speaker A: Chico. Chico. They got a little something else up [00:11:49] Speaker B: there to keep there. Yeah, but yeah, I, I, I couldn't believe that's, that's. How many students go there? [00:11:56] Speaker A: 80,000. Huh? [00:11:58] Speaker B: 80,000, man. [00:11:59] Speaker A: Wow. I would have never guessed that number. [00:12:03] Speaker B: North Carolina, Clemson over under 43 and a half. [00:12:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean North Carolina. Look, Bill Belichick, Dabo Sweeney, I don't know if you released the coach's hot seat. You kind of teased on that Rome, but both these guys are on the list. Could one of these guys who loses this game at the end of the seat, at end of the season be looking at that seat being so warm that it gets them fired from their job? North Carolina started out 2, 0. Had that win in week one against Dublin, in Dublin, against TCU last week. Played a, you know, JV FCS team or whoever they played. Clemson has not looked good. Look, they got blown out by lsu. Had a home game against Georgia Southern if I remember correctly. Maybe it was Georgia State. Either way, Clemson did not show up in that game. Three and a half's a low number. I mean, Dabo, he's got to get these guys going. They got enough talent that they should be able to cover three and a half at home. I'm going to ride with Clemson. Three and a half. Not confident in it. But look, Bill Belichick, that team, I'm not really confident in them either way. So I'm, I'm going to take Clemson. Look, it's an entertaining game in the acc. We'll see what happens. But give me the Tigers at home minus three and a half. [00:13:14] Speaker B: You know, I might actually bet on this game and I'm gonna have to go the opposite direction. I do like the defensive Carolina. [00:13:23] Speaker A: I don't like dabble. So I don't, I ain't mad. If he loses, I'll, I'll lose a bet to see him get fired. I'm not gonna lie. [00:13:29] Speaker B: I'll take the three and a half. I think it's be pretty close. I don't know how the field goal special teams is with North Carolina. I've watched the first game, I watched parts of the second game. I know that that's a whole different, different story. But this team does look a little different. [00:13:44] Speaker A: So I, I will say this. I do know this about Clemson, North Carolina, they got some pretty decent punters because they both got a lot of work so far to start the season. So I'll, I'll leave it at that. [00:13:54] Speaker B: 100%. SMU, Louisville 59 and a half over under. [00:14:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean we went in depth on this on the sulfa wise guys. I like Louisville at home. Right? I mean, look, SMU played a late Monday night game against Florida State on Labor Day. Short week. Saturday they played against UC Davis. So essentially they're playing what, three games here in 13 days. Traveling from. In Florida State. Now traveling to Louisville. Louisville played on a Friday night. The extra rest being at home, it's going to be fired up there in the Kentucky Fried Chicken State. I like Louisville to beat SMU and get a big win in the acc. So I'm going with the cards here, minus one and a half at home. [00:14:40] Speaker B: One thing I've been surprised is, like, smu, Georgia Tech, some of these schools that showed a pretty big time last year, like the last several years, they're stumbling out of the gate this year. [00:14:50] Speaker A: Georgia Tech especially, I mean, they've not looked good. Two losses. [00:14:55] Speaker B: Not at all. [00:14:55] Speaker A: Home too. Two losses at home. So bye. We kind of came for the right time for them. [00:15:00] Speaker B: Yeah. All right. Mississippi State, South Carolina. I can't read that. 58 and a half. [00:15:09] Speaker A: That is correct. Yeah. I mean, it's so many. So many long words to write. Mississippi State, South Carolina barely fit on the screen. Look, I like Mississippi State. They went into Minnesota last week and beat them badly. You know, this kind of feels like a trap game where a team goes on the road in Minnesota, blows a team out, then travels back on the road against a tough SEC team in South Carolina. Like, South Carolina is not one of the top four or five teams in the conference, but it is a tough place to win down there. It feels like a trap game, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna bite. I'm gonna take the cheese. I'm gonna be the rat here. The mice, whatever you want. I'm gonna take Mississippi State. The Bulldogs plus three and a half. Look, I think they got a better offense than South Carolina. They can score points. South Carolina does not look good offensively here over the last year. Plus, I'm buying into Mississippi State. Look, this is a team that can win eight, nine games. I've told you, Rome, when we did a recap on Sunday. If you're Texas, you got to watch out for these guys later in the year, too. Mississippi State's a team that can upset a few of the elite teams in the SEC. I'm going the dog. The Bulldogs. Mississippi State plus three and a half year. [00:16:15] Speaker B: Wow. Florida, Auburn, 53 and a half. [00:16:20] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, two. Two programs that have been at the bottom from when they used to be at the top here in the sec. They both got new coaches that came in. Auburn got that one point win against Baylor to start the season. Played a cupcake last week. Florida's played two cupcakes to start the season. They've looked great. I actually like Florida's roster better. I like their coach better and I like them here on the road. Lane. Two and a half like Auburn has not put things together yet and Florida's look pretty good. This might be one of the sloppy games, but I think in the end, Florida in the third, fourth quarter is going to eventually show that they're the better team, more prepared team, better coach team. Florida pulls away late, covers this game, wins by six or seven. So I'm going to go Florida minus two and a half on the road to beat the Auburn Tigers. [00:17:10] Speaker B: Okay, buying low. I like it. West Virginia against Virginia. [00:17:19] Speaker A: A lot of Virginia's here, man, look fresh. Virginia I love. You know what Rich Rod, Rich Rodriguez has done there? He's kind of year two. He's one of my guys. I liked him back 15, 20 years ago when he was building that program up. Kind of got lost in his ways when he went to Michigan. But hey, look at him. I mean, everybody, everybody, everybody goes to Michigan and gets lost in their ways. [00:17:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Let's just be honest. Even Jim Harbaugh got lost there for a while. It took a Covid disease to get that program turned around. But Virginia, look, Virginia's look pretty good. They've rebounded. This game is in Charlotte. They've looked great these first two games. I think West Virginia is a lot better too, but I, I just can't. I, I can't buy into West Virginia yet. I gotta see it to believe it. I think Virginia wins here. I think Virginia covers the 10 points, but this could be a close game. We'll see. I mean, Rich Rod, if he can get these boys up and going, it's a big game for them because of the Big 12, where they're going to be. We know the Big 12's got some solid teams, but I'm gonna take Virginia -10 against West Virginia. [00:18:27] Speaker B: Oh, you switched it up on me. [00:18:30] Speaker A: It's a lot of Virginians, you know, everybody can get confused one day. It's west, east, south, north, I don't know. [00:18:36] Speaker B: Okay, another Virginia school. Virginia tech against Maryland, 53 and a half. [00:18:43] Speaker A: Yeah, I got, I got tired of white right in Virginia here. But look, Virginia Tech, Jim James Franklin. First two games there, they've looked on fire, blowing teams out. I mean, he's got that place up in Blacksburg, Virginia on point. They're looking great. They got that sandman music going. Everybody's bumping now they go on the road. Maryland, one of their coaches on her hot seat. I watched Maryland last week against UConn. They beat their Ass. Why did I watch a game? Because I personally had UConn in one of my own selections, so I wanted to keep an eye on that game. Guess what? Maryland's going to beat Virginia Tech outright. I'm going to take the three points, but lay some money on Maryland at home. Moneyline. James Franklin and his team go down on the road. First game away from Blacksburg. I like Maryland here. I think it's going to be a sharp play. [00:19:34] Speaker B: Wow. Okay, Colorado, Northwestern 48. [00:19:41] Speaker A: Yeah, look, Dion's and his boys, they're 2 0. Got that win in the opener against Georgia Tech as you touched on Rome. Georgia Tech just isn't GT right now. I mean, GT won't even return my calls when I ask him about his program right now, so he's even disappointed about that. But look, Colorado's kind of fool's gold to me. I mean, the Rocky Mountain High, they're gonna, they're going on the road to Northwestern. Chip Kelly's there, your boy New Hyzer's there. So everybody, everybody from the old UCLA regiment is there back when UCLA was still decent before Foster took over. So I don't want people to get confused, but I like Northwestern here at home to beat Colorado. Colorado's traveled from Atlanta back to Colorado. Now they're going up to Illinois to take on Northwestern. The travel catches up to them and I'd like Northwestern to win by at least six. So I'll lay the three and a half. [00:20:32] Speaker B: All right, last game for your games of the week for week three in college football, we have lsu, Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin's return to the school that he built up from the dead. Wow. Now they want him dead. 58 and a half over under. [00:20:51] Speaker A: They. [00:20:51] Speaker B: The, the guys. Sniper and Aaron cover this on the sofa Wise guys podcast and I definitely had some disagreements. Give it to us. [00:21:01] Speaker A: Well, Rome, I, I mean, I know you gave your opinion on that program and you had some disagreements, but there's some breaking news just broke out not too long ago before we jumped on this pod. Sam Levitt, quarterback for lsu, is listed as doubtful for this game with a shoulder inflammation, shoulder strain, so it looks like as of now, he will not be playing for your LSU Tigers. So look, that's a great question. How much money they pay for him? We, I mean, look, they got a 50 million dollar roster, so hopefully they paid at least a million for the backup. But look, we, we touched on a lot on that show. Me and Sniper are both on Ole Miss plus three. And given the news that just broke, not But a few hours ago I, man, I mean, I think Ole Miss plus three, that may come down to a pick them. If Sam Levitt is officially rolled out. We'll keep an eye on that. But according to LSU sources, again, Lane Kiffin, he could just be trying to bluff and get this line down to get some plus money on lsu. They got to pay the bills. Brian Kelly still getting paid $50 million a year. The fix could be in in Oxford, but I'm still writing of Ole Miss plus three and a win outright. [00:22:15] Speaker B: Yeah, so I just, I just saw [00:22:18] Speaker A: right now, it just popped up. It just popped up. Rome, it's a late, late breaking news out of Baton Rouge. [00:22:24] Speaker B: You know, I gotta be honest with you, I did not watch the game against Louisiana Tech. So when you talked about it earlier today on the wise guys podcast, talking about three interceptions, I was like, whoa, that's big time. His backup is a freshman and a sophomore. Husson. Long streak, that's the freshman. And Landon Clark, a sophomore. Clark, he has been in two games, has completed 7 of 10 passes for 109 yards, one touchdown. Long streak, has one pass attempt for completion of 33 yards. So not a lot of experience. Hopefully there's lightning in the bottle if one of those guys comes on board. But that's pretty amazing that they don't have someone else back there behind Sam Levitt. [00:23:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, given Sam Levitt's injury history, I mean he missed a lot of time at Arizona State with arm, ankle, knee. I mean, we touched on this. If you go back and listen to our college preview that we released two weeks ago, we said, look, LSU is only going to go as far as Sam Levitt's health. If he's healthy, they've got a team that can get to the College Football Playoff. That defense has been great. I mean, look, Sam Levin threw pick six in that game against Louisiana Tech who only scored, I believe another touchdown and mop up duty against third, fourth string guys like LSU is deep. They're a good team. I think long term, future wise this season they're going to be better than Ole Miss. But in this spot here, I like the Tigers. And given the news and the quarterback information you just released, Rome, it's going to be awfully difficult to back the LSU Tigers. I mean, I'll be interested to see where that line is going to go, but it's going to move a lot. It wouldn't surprise me if Levitt is out. That Ole Miss closes as about a 1 1/2 2-point favorite when it's all said and done. So get, get on the line now. If you're listening to the show, get on Ole Miss plus three. Because that is right now the, the best play for that game on the board. [00:24:33] Speaker B: 100%. Yeah, because it's gonna come down. Yeah, definitely it's gonna come down. [00:24:39] Speaker A: He's listed as doubtful now, so we'll monitor it. But by Friday we should have a better understanding of where he's at. [00:24:45] Speaker B: Yeah, LSU has a big microscope over them because I just read something else like LSU not reporting this on time. They're going to be fined by the sec. The SEC just does not like Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers. [00:25:00] Speaker A: Well, they almost kicked him out of the conference. And look. Yeah, I mean, this is really late. I mean, look, we talked about in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I mean, what are they? I think they're three hour time difference than us. Maybe it's two. But whatever it is, you shouldn't be releasing this. You shouldn't be releasing this information at 7:30 at night our time. This should have been released basically all the time. We were doing our own pod with this sofa. Wise guys. Plenty of time to release it then. [00:25:27] Speaker B: That's amazing. One quick question before we recap this stuff. How do we do last week on your locks of the week? [00:25:35] Speaker A: Locks of the week. If you went the opposite way, you did pretty damn well. You did pretty damn well. Oh, and three, I think, I think. What were the locks from? Give them to me. [00:25:45] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:25:46] Speaker A: I'm trying to remember. I'm trying to forget. [00:25:49] Speaker B: Maybe I didn't keep track for whatever reason, but you had your first lock, Kansas plus five and a half. And you label that as a possible upset. [00:26:00] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, that was looking good for about two and a half quarters. But no, Kansas did not. [00:26:06] Speaker B: The other lock was under 50 and a half with Texas A&M winning. [00:26:12] Speaker A: Well, there was two pick sixes in the fourth quarter, Rome, so that tells you that was a loss. [00:26:17] Speaker B: And then you had Memphis plus eight and a half. Who do they play again? [00:26:22] Speaker A: Boise State. That was a weird game, man. Memphis. Memphis was up 173 in that game and then got outscored 35 to 3 from that point forward. But five minutes ago in the second quarter, they were up 17. [00:26:40] Speaker B: Yeah, your team cost me. Your team cost me a lot. [00:26:45] Speaker A: Well, I was on the Vikings that week, Rome, so I could stay the way, stay away from them. That was one. That was one I got right. [00:26:52] Speaker B: Barely. Their quarterback went down fast. Dude. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:55] Speaker B: And then somehow, some way. I don't. I still don't know. I still don't know. [00:27:02] Speaker A: The, the Brian Flores at that 80 blitz rate on pass attempts finally, finally caught lightning in a bottle. [00:27:10] Speaker B: It cracked. Yeah, it cracked the packers outline, that's for sure. Do you want to issue locks of the week for week three? [00:27:22] Speaker A: I do. Rome. Why not? Why not? We're here. Let's do it. All right, I'm going. Ole Miss plus three. Oh, come on, come on. Look, look, you already knew I was on them. I'm going. Hey, hey. You know, you know, sometimes you gotta kick a tiger when it's down, man. That's just how it goes. [00:27:41] Speaker B: Oh, come on. I, I, I hate rooting against your locks, but come on. [00:27:47] Speaker A: Okay, this one's, this one. I'm gonna go Maryland plus three. I said they're gonna win out right at home. I'm gonna take them plus three. I don't like how Westgate gave us only two and a half. You know Westgate. I gotta call somebody over there because they're dripping us on these lines. Yeah, they screwed me on SMU minus three and a half. That should have been three and gotten a push or two and a half. But hey, it is what it is. And let's go Louisville. Louisville minus one and a half at home. Three logs [00:28:15] Speaker B: all closely. Contestant matches. Amazing. You like living and playing with fire. [00:28:25] Speaker A: Hey, last week I was on plus what five and a half, plus eight and a half. Didn't do me any good, man. Didn't do me any good. This week we're going pick them games. Okay, I'll hit at least two out of three of those. [00:28:40] Speaker B: Sounds good. So we have two games on Friday as well as nine additional games on Saturday. Three locks of the week, including Louisville minus one and a half, Maryland plus three and Ole Miss plus three. By the time you hear this though, it is going to probably be. [00:29:00] Speaker A: It's going to get down to at least a pick them, if not all miss favored. Yeah, I mean, you just mentioned the quarterback situation. How can those guys be favored going into Ole Miss? [00:29:08] Speaker B: I mean, there's not going to be any tapes, so they might be just be like nice raw talent. [00:29:14] Speaker A: I mean, I guess we're, I guess we're pulling out the old high school tape. How's the arm look? My arm's pretty shot, so, I mean, long streak. I mean, what do you throw for 7,000 yards in high school? So get the tape out. We know what Lake Hip it's all about. [00:29:32] Speaker B: Okay. You know, there might be something there. [00:29:36] Speaker A: Yeah, well, there might be something there. I'm gonna dig. [00:29:39] Speaker B: I'm gonna dig into that over the next few days. [00:29:42] Speaker A: Dig into it. Rome. [00:29:43] Speaker B: I might dig. [00:29:44] Speaker A: You mentioned Rome. While we're on it, did you were going to release the coach's hot seat, right? I don't know if you've released that yet on X. [00:29:50] Speaker B: Not yet, but I do have it up right here with me. [00:29:54] Speaker A: Okay, so you know who the top name is on the list? I mean, you can. You can tell us who the top guy is on the list. [00:30:01] Speaker B: Well, I did release my power rankings for the NFL earlier today on all the socials. [00:30:06] Speaker A: I did. I did see that Rome. [00:30:09] Speaker B: I changed it like 10 times because I really wanted to do like a top 10, not like a top eight, because that I could have squeezed in two teams I really want to put in there, but figure, why, why bother? I already did the top 15 for the opening preseason. But, coaches, let's see. I gotta pull it up again. All right. College football preview, which is funny, man. I'm glad that we omitted an L and added it to all the graphics. That's like an inside joke if you've been following the pod from day one. I. I just love that we had the UCLA new coach, new culture. I did three of those. Heisman favorites and coaching hot seat, top one on there. I'm not sure if I changed the order too much on this, but Mike Norvell, which. [00:30:59] Speaker A: That's the guy I want to focus [00:31:00] Speaker B: on, I did not like his presser because allegedly there's some movie vans outside of his house as we speak. Their AD just got fired. [00:31:10] Speaker A: Yeah, we're gonna break this down, Realms. We're gonna break this down. So I think I teased on the show that a coach on this hot seat could be canned this week. You just. You just touched on it. Mike Alford, AD or former adf? Florida State was relieved of his duties on Monday. Norvell and Florida State travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide this Saturday. They are a three touchdown underdog. 19 and a half, 20 points. We'll call them three touchdown underdogs. If they happen to get blown out there, which I believe is a very, very strong possibility, I think they might. Mike Norville will be fired Sunday morning in Tallahassee. Wow. He will be out of a job unless this game is competitive and close. I don't see Mike Norville surviving this weekend. And I think Alabama rolls them. [00:32:04] Speaker B: The face that he had was a guy that was defeated. And here he's been told he's out with one more loss. That's what it looked like I've seen that look before. That's the way I look when I'm leaving family court. [00:32:18] Speaker A: Yeah. Hey, if you've seen that look wrong, then you know what's up. I'll take you. [00:32:22] Speaker B: Well, you do everything right, but things just go wrong. [00:32:27] Speaker A: The only thing is Norvell ain't done everything right. But look, it's, it's been a rough situation. Look, he should have been fired after the Stanford game. He should have just been left right there, the old Palo Alto and taking a bus back to Tallahassee. But they, but here's the thing. Mike Alford didn't want to fire him because they were both tied at the hip. He knew if he fired him, he wasn't going to be able to select the next coach, so he would have already been fired. So he basically went to Norvell and said, hey, look, if I fire you, I'm fired. So please, at all costs, just win. I'm not going to fire you. But look, the president said, look, this is a train wreck. You're out. Norvell now knows that, hey, his days are numbered. Look it, everybody talks about, hey, Florida State, how much money they have, how much they don't. Look, I, I've talked to a lot of different people there. Look, I, I heard from a great source that there's over a hundred million dollars in cash in reserves ready to move when needed and it will be moved to get Norvell out. I know the movie, man, might have already been paid by these guys. They, you know, hey, house is on the market. I think Norvell is fired on Sunday, Romeo and they hired as a consultant, advisory. I believe his name is Chris Herman from former coach at Texas Houston. He will become the new interim coach. That's my prediction as early as Sunday, if not Monday. But Norvell done. I'm happy. And again, I've mentioned it before. For Chesney at ucla, from Cali to Tally, that is just picking up more steam as we speak. [00:34:04] Speaker B: It ain't happening, dude. He just got here and he likes to stay. LA is a good place to be. [00:34:11] Speaker A: All right, we'll see. We'll see. I've already started. I've already started the trend. You can post that on Twitter. Give it some love. But it. He's definitely one of the top coaches on that list. [00:34:24] Speaker B: I bet, I bet. All right, Any final comments for College Football Week 3? [00:34:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I'm going to keep an eye on this game. Rome. I, I mean, look, this team does suck and this Team has been doing good, but I'm, I'm, I'm eager to watch usc. I know that pains you as a ucla guy, but USC's 3, 0. [00:34:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:47] Speaker A: This is the first game away from home, the Coliseum, which look, no fans show up. Fortunately for them, they're traveling to Rutgers. Hey, nobody shows up to their games either. That's, that's. [00:34:56] Speaker B: Rucker is in trouble. [00:34:57] Speaker A: I mean, you might as well add that coach to the hot seat. Greg Chiano, he's, he's in real hot trouble. He, he's basically been cooked. Well done too. But look, USC is a 24 point favorite. They're on the road. They should be able to cover this game. But are they looking ahead to Oregon next week? Coming in, they got Oregon at home, followed by Washington. So a lot of games here, no bye weeks. I wonder if USC is going to be sleepwalking going into records. Not saying they get upset, but do they play lackadaisical football game, make this thing interesting or not? I'm going to keep an eye on that. Oregon's at home this week against Portland State. I mean, me and you, Rome, we could play for Portland State. That's how bad they are and that's saying a lot. But look, usc, I'm going to keep an eye on them. They've got a stretch here where they could get to six zero and make themselves a real playoff contender. I like to see them keep the momentum going forward and just blow Rutgers out by 40 and come home and beat Oregon the following week. [00:35:53] Speaker B: Wow. So you're predicting like a Penn State like fallout from the sky forgotten. [00:36:01] Speaker A: Yes. [00:36:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I got no comment. I, I don't really have any strong elite allegiances to Oregon. [00:36:10] Speaker A: I like Oregon. I mean, you, we saw they are the, the number two spinning program reportedly on a release list today upwards to 50 million plus. And I said Dan Landing. Look, I, I like Dan Landing. He's our age, he's a good guy. But I mean some of the decisions he's made, going for fourth down and three, fourth down to five at his own 30. I mean, dude, we're not, we're not playing, you know, peewee teams here. This is Division 1 college football, big boy. If you don't respect your opponent, your opponent will take it to you. And that's what happened last week of Oklahoma State. So Dan Lanny, he'd better get that. He better get the ship right, because he's a guy that could be added to the hot list going into next year if Oregon falls from grace, which is a strong possibility this season. [00:36:59] Speaker B: I think that's very realistic, actually. [00:37:02] Speaker A: Phil. 90 messing around, dude. That guy. I looked up his age. I didn't realize he was like 80 plus. This guy's like Jerry Jones. He ain't got time to wait for a national championship in D1 no more. [00:37:11] Speaker B: Nope. [00:37:11] Speaker A: They ain't playing games, man. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Nope. [00:37:14] Speaker A: So be careful. Dan Lennon, you're on the hot seat. You've been warned. [00:37:18] Speaker B: You've been warned. All right, I'll do it then. For College Football Week 3. Catch up with us every single week for new games of the week, plays of the week. I don't know. We'll try to work on that jingle as we go on.
