[00:00:02] Speaker A: This is it. We're here. It's the eve of the NFL Wild Card weekend. Lots of good games. Starting off on Saturday, Chargers at Texans, Steelers going against Baltimore. That's gonna be a lot of fun. You'll figure out why later on the pod. Then Sunday we got Broncos at Bill's Pack against the Eagles, Commanders against the Bucks. And then Monday night, now we know that it got moved out of Los Angeles SOFI Stadium and to Glendale, Arizona. Not sure how home field advantage is going to play out now just because at least it's closer, right? You know, maybe fans make the trip out there to get away from the fires, get away from the bad air that's polluting Los Angeles right now. I was supposed to be in LA this weekend as well, but rescheduled for next weekend. Just. There's fires everywhere. Some of the freeways I got to pass through. Kind of nervous. Man, I've been on those roads for 10, 12 hours before it is demoralizing. It is. It's a soul crusher. You know, there's only so many podcasts, so many playlists you can listen to. I already know all the good Taco bells off the five. Same thing with McDonald's. I know which ones make the best fries. You know, some Taco Bells, all the five. By the way, they use a different tortilla than like the other franchises. And I'm not Haiti. I'm not gonna rat them out. But ah, man, those burritos are so delicious. So delicious. And I just keep it simple. Two tacos for every burrito. Anyways, we have a special podcast, another one back to back. This time we cover the NFL Wild Card weekend as well as throw out some AFC NFC Championship predictions and the Super Bowl. Why not? We're here. And then we'll hedge our bets next week. Of course, I'm sure there's going to be an upset or two that we don't see right now. There always is. Hardly ever the favorites, but here we go. NFL source of the sofa. Don't go anywhere. We're back for a special NFL Wild card episode. We got games on Saturday, Sunday as well as Monday. Some things still up in the limbo as we're recording Wednesday night. But does love make it back to play that game? More than likely hurts. Does he make it back? Does he make it out of concussion protocol? Guys are betting on it. Let's start on the Saturday slate. Kicking things off at 1:30. Is it 1:30 Pacific Time? [00:03:00] Speaker B: Yeah, 1:30 Pacific Time. This is the Texans staple slot. They play Saturday at 1:30 every year. [00:03:07] Speaker A: I saw that. I saw that meme. Chargers minus three against the Houston Texans on CBS and Paramount, plus 43 and a half over under. Who do you guys got? [00:03:26] Speaker B: Yeah, the Texans were your guys's team at the beginning of the year to make this super roll run. But ultimately offensively just have not lived up to the billing. Pretty much that sophomore slump we talked about with Stroud. Offensive line really isn't blocked for him. Playmakers in and out of the lineup through the entire year. Chargers, on the other hand, first year under Jim Harbaugh, you know, we got a vintage Harbaugh team. You thought this team was going to, you know, be on the outside looking in. They let a lot of good players go, but they've really maximized what they've had offensively and defensively. I'm going to take the Chargers minus three. [00:04:04] Speaker C: Yeah, Jason had just mentioned, you know, I was high on the Texans, as high as getting them into the Super Bowl. Coming in this game is an underdog. I mean, Chargers, you know, hardball from 5 wins to 11 wins. Defensively they've been really good. Special teams are really good. Offensively seems to be clicking. Herbert with his second 300 plus yard passing game. Lan McConkey's got it rolling. The Chargers are a little banged up. You know, Palmer probably out again. Q had a big game against the Raiders, but he's got a sore thigh and illness. Offensive line, you know, one of their tackles missed the last game precautionary, got hurt in warm ups. Texas got a good defense and things have not clicked for them all year. You know, that internal offensive line has been bad. Chargers have really shoring up their defensive front. No Tank Dell, no digs, mixing in the run game. You, you can run a little bit on the Chargers. I'm going to take the Houston Texans plus three and yeah, I'm going to take the Texans plus three and I'll go Chargers money line. Texans plus three. Late field goal by Dicker. The kicker gets the win. 2422 Chargers. But give me the Texans plus three. [00:05:23] Speaker A: That's so crazy. Are you picking the Jason or are you picking the Jason? So are you picking the Chargers outright? Jason? [00:05:29] Speaker B: No, I said minus three. [00:05:33] Speaker A: All right, so this is a tough matchup. Chargers and Houston, really good defenses on both sides of the ball. Chargers best in the league with a 17.7 scoring average. Best in the NFL. And they were up there, I think tops with only 31 touchdowns. To put that in a comparison, Panthers were the worst with 61 touchdowns allowed and every other defense is, you know, Eagles got the second best one with 33 either way. Houston also has a really good defense and they really ended the season right. They didn't need the win since their 4C was already secured. But a few storylines that I'm keeping an eye on. Khalil Mack. He's looking for his first win. There's a sense of urgency from the Charger sideline. Herbert's looking for his first win. Houston is has one of the NFL's top pass rushing duos with Hunter and Anderson Jr. They both got 12 and 11 sacks. They're gonna be pressuring the out of Herbert all game. I imagine Houston did not play the way we all imagine them than the play this past year. Still had a decent year but I think they're playing for something. They're trying to get that that momentum back to build onto next year. So with all that said and done, both defense is really good. Obviously Chargers are lights out. I think we need the Chargers to win but I'm not really sure which way to go on this. I am leaning on Texans is more like a gut feeling. I feeling the defense is going to step up and make it really hard on Herbert but would not be surprised if the Chargers come out on top as of now. Lean Texans money line might parlay this into something else. All right, next game. Pittsburgh Steelers against the Baltimore Ravens. Do we see Justin Fields make an appearance to open up the playbook for the Steel Curtain? Baltimore looks like they've kind of solved whatever that is the Pittsburgh curse. They put an ass whooping in the last game. They're favored by nine and a half over under 45 and a half. This is a Saturday afternoon game, which I'm not gonna lie, man, I might be heavily medicated with several drinks for this game. Who do you guys got? [00:08:11] Speaker B: I think there's a reason you're going to be heavily medicated because it's not going to be the greatest game for your Steelers. However, in this type of rivalry in the playoffs, it's January football time. I do think the Steelers keep it closer than they did in their previous regular season meeting. That was in Baltimore. Baltimore wins this game, which is why Brome is probably going to be heavily medicated a little bit. But I think the Steelers cover the plus nine and a half and because it's it's a tighter game. So even if the Ravens are just winning by a touchdown, I don't like taking in a rivalry game with these teams third meeting of the year. I think It'll be tight. So the Ravens, I would pick them to win. If you're just trying to pick a winner, Moneyline. But the Steelers, you could take them plus nine and a half. [00:09:01] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, these teams just played what, three weeks ago? 34, 17. Ravens win. No George Pickens in that game. Porter Jr. Got hurt. Ravens offensively, even, you know, just flying around scoring a lot of points. But Zay Flowers is likely out for this game. [00:09:18] Speaker A: He is. Yeah. [00:09:18] Speaker C: And that is, that's a big playmaker. You know, say what you want. They split in the regular season, divisional rivalry. These games are usually pretty tight. To see that game, that was three weeks ago. To go from a six point spread to nine and a half, 10 depending on where you're getting it. I'm rolling with Jason on this one. I like the Ravens money line. I like the Steelers to cover. But that's only if the Steelers open up and let Russell Wilson throw the ball. Don't hand it off 30 times. They're going to have to throw it. This is the number one run defense in the NFL. The past defense for Baltimore's gotten a lot better, but that's still where you got to attack them. The Steelers have any chance. Russell Wilson needs to throw over 250 plus and two or three scores. That's their only chance to win this game. Boswell's a money kicker, but it's going to be a tight game. I believe I'll go 27, 21. Ravens. [00:10:13] Speaker A: Okay. Interesting. Baltimore's past events as was not great in the beginning of the season. They're bottom of the league. We ridiculed them a lot or criticize them a lot for it. They made some adjustments in the last eight weeks or so. I think they're top five in most categories, swarming the defense, safeties, lots of spies, pressures, great coverage. Baltimore just feels like it's a special year this year with Lamar Jackson. Not to take away from my Steelers. I don't want them to win. I want Wilson out. I want them restart. Let's get a new quarterback. After hearing pro football talk today a little bit yesterday, I think after our last podcast. Aaron, you mentioned, or was it Jason? Aaron Rodgers. [00:11:07] Speaker C: The seeds been planted by the social pod. [00:11:11] Speaker A: Seeds was planted. We were actually the first pod to talk about it on air and then the last day or so it's been trickling around the media. [00:11:22] Speaker C: News travels fast in Russia where we got a lot of listeners too. [00:11:26] Speaker A: So we surprisingly have a few dozen listeners in Russia. Go figure. But yeah, I, I want my team to lose, we gotta take a bullet, you know, I don't want us to win. I don't want us to get blown out. I want to feel somewhat good about myself. Okay. I might open up some bourbon, sip on that a little bit. Wear my Harrison jersey. I'm definitely gonna wear my Harrison jersey. And 30, 22. Still his belly cover. That's my pick. All right, onto the Sunday games. Broncos at the Bills. It's gonna be chili. Bills here by nine points. 47 and a half. I ran into a whole bunch of Denver fans the past few days here in San Francisco. They're rocking that, like, some throwback jerseys and, like, some hats, and they're really excited. One was wearing a Bo Nicks jersey, talking about how he's the next Elway. I wouldn't go that far. You know, he was definitely. [00:12:39] Speaker C: You should. You should have let him listen to my take on him. You know, Elway's not the guy I would have went with there. [00:12:45] Speaker A: No, you. I think what you said. Breeze, beginning of the season, definitely some homers, but I think Bills take care of business, man. Broncos don't belong in this game. It's over. Bills. The nine points kind of scare me, though. Not gonna lie. How cold is it gonna be in Buffalo for the game? That's the key thing that I'll decide if it's over, under for me. [00:13:14] Speaker B: Hold on. I'm checking the weather for you right now in Buffalo, New York. [00:13:17] Speaker A: But Denver does had a play in. [00:13:18] Speaker B: Cold weather, too, on Sunday. It's a high of 30 degrees. [00:13:26] Speaker C: It's cold, but not freezing cold. [00:13:29] Speaker A: No. [00:13:29] Speaker B: Well, it's the. It's the only day around two days prior and two days after that doesn't have snow in the forecast. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Yeah, just as it be below 32. But no rain, huh? [00:13:43] Speaker B: Not into the current forecast. [00:13:44] Speaker A: All right, who do you guys got? [00:13:47] Speaker B: Yeah, Buffalo, Rome. You were criticizing Aaron and I's preseason picks for them, but we. We turned around pretty easily and think this. This was going to be something special for Buffalo this year. I do think they win this game, but I'll agree with you. I don't like the amount of points in a game that's this cold for a team in Denver. While 10 and 7, they're competitive in all their games. Sean Payton, you know, gets this team to play, and they are competitive. I'm looking at ESPN bed at eight and a half. You said you had nine room. [00:14:23] Speaker A: I do, yeah. [00:14:24] Speaker B: Yeah. I. I would take Denver plus eight and a half or plus nine, but I still like Buffalo to win. This, if you're taking this to the money line. [00:14:35] Speaker C: An interesting game, man. Interesting game. I love Denver +9. That's my lock of the week. Denver +9. I think if there's an upset this weekend, this is the game to keep an eye on Bo Nicks defense for Denver's really, really good. Josh Allen's gonna have to put on the Superman cape to get them through. Probably does. But Denver's gonna cover similar to what you saw Joe Burrow do two weeks ago. If Josh Allen does not put up a similar performance, Buffalo will be going home. That's how tough it's going to be to take Denver out. You're going to have to ball out of your Josh Allen, James Cook, whoever. They're going to have to really show up because Denver, they're going to bring the pressure. Bo Nix, they're not going to be scared of Buffalo. Denver plus nine into lock. Maybe a little sidekick on the moneyline. Denver too. This gonna be a tough game. [00:15:29] Speaker A: When was the last time Josh Allen has had a bad playoff game? Even his losses he've been pretty good. [00:15:36] Speaker C: He's gonna have to be spectacular. Not good. [00:15:38] Speaker A: He might be the only quarterback in the playoffs that has been pretty consistent in the playoffs. [00:15:43] Speaker C: We had a bad game against Cincy two years ago. Cincy super bowl run and I believe AFC championship. That got beat by the next game by the Chiefs. [00:15:55] Speaker A: Yeah, I have to pull it. [00:15:57] Speaker C: They were a seven point home favorite when Cincinnati smoked them by double digits. [00:16:01] Speaker A: Wow. All right. But how did Josh Allen do not. [00:16:08] Speaker C: Very well in that game. That was what kind of pit Cincinnati's defense and Lou Amarillo on the map basically to be the guy to get a head coaching job and saw how that ended up. [00:16:23] Speaker A: Green Bay pack against the Philadelphia Eagles. Tough matchup. Eagles favored by five and a half over under 55 and a half. [00:16:38] Speaker C: 45 over under 45 and a half. [00:16:41] Speaker A: What'd I say? [00:16:41] Speaker C: You said 55 and a half. I also got four and a half on this bread. [00:16:45] Speaker A: Nice. I got five and a half, 45 and a half. I got Eagles but not with that five and a point. So I got them straight up. I think they win by at least by a field goal, but I wouldn't be surprised they win by a touchdown either. [00:17:06] Speaker B: I'm in agreement with Rome. If you look at the packers, it's been like a couple months since their first loss to Detroit where they've lost by more than a field goal. So this is a team that generally is going to keep it close. The only if you're looking at their games the week one versus the Eagles. I think they lost by five points in that game so they keep games close. I'm in agreement that I would take the Eagles money line. My line I'm seeing like Aaron is four and a half. I'll still take the pack plus four and a half but Eagles money line. [00:17:39] Speaker A: Wow. [00:17:42] Speaker C: Yeah. These playoffs is kind of like a revenge tour for Green Bay, right. Lost to basically three opponents and four opponents but really Detroit twice, Philadelphia ones. Ironically if they beat Philadelphia they get Detroit. How many greens of you guys I love four and a half. I think Green Bay covers I mean I'm a little bit worried about Jordan in love but it sounds like he's got full strength grip. Just a little soreness in the elbow. Jalen hurts yeah hasn't cleared concussion protocol but likely will but there was an interesting stat on another show that coach players coming back from concussion quarterbacks have not fared well in their first game back and let's be he's missed basically all the Washington game got hurt in the first quarter missed the last two games. So we've talked about Rust concussion. How will he look? I think Philly has too many weapons on the outside with Jair Alexander being out now for the season. He was a big piece. I thought they to get back but he just had knee surgery that ruled him out for the remainder. They lost Watson 2 to an ACL. Kind of, you know, wasn't having a great year but he was a deep threat. You had to honor it so he could kind of, you know, spread the defense out. I'm going to say Philly wins Packers cover but special teams here. Jake Elliot has not kicked the ball well for Philadelphia. McManus has been money for Green Bay. That may be the difference but I like the pack to cover. But I'll agree. Pack cover. Fieldy moves on. Close game though. [00:19:12] Speaker A: Surprised you're not taking your pack. [00:19:15] Speaker C: I don't play biased man. I just give 100 true honesty here. [00:19:21] Speaker A: All right. Washington Commanders against Tampa Bay bucks. Bucks fair by three and a half over under 50 and a half. I think they got this projected as a highest scoring game. This can be fun. Rookie of the Year potentially one of the top offenses in the league with the Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield. I like to feel good story. I'm going to ride the Bucks all the way. They make it to the next round. I'll take the points. [00:19:53] Speaker B: So you're going Tampa minus three. [00:19:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:59] Speaker B: I'm in agreement. Both teams been hot down the stretch here. Really to secure their spot in the playoffs. But Tampa's got something special offensively that has just really moved the ball. When they were good at the beginning and they're good at the end, there's that. Even the spot in the middle of their schedule where they lost four straight. You know, they're putting up some big 20, 30, 40 point games. I'm going to take Tampa Bay minus three. [00:20:32] Speaker C: Clean sweep, guys. I like Tampa minus three as well. Baker, every year he's gotten into the playoffs, he's at least won one game. I don't like Washington's run defense. Bucky Irving, big, big game. I think he's going to have Mike Evans on the outside. A big game. I'm going with the Bucks here, too. And the last time the Bucs made a run to the super bowl, who was their wild card matchup? It was the Washington Commanders or Washington football team at that time. Not saying Tampa's getting to the super bowl, but I'm going to take Tampa -3 to move on in advance here to get to the divisional round. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Out of all the quarterbacks in the playoffs, are you guys familiar with the stat of how many playoff wins everyone has? [00:21:21] Speaker C: I have to look at it right now. Well, not look at it, but just look at the quarterbacks and get a rough idea. [00:21:28] Speaker A: Who has the most. [00:21:32] Speaker C: Probably Russell Wilson. Been to two Super Bowls in a few NFC Championship games. So it's probably Russell Wilson followed by Stafford. [00:21:45] Speaker A: You know what? I had this graphic pulled up and I totally accidentally. I totally lost it. I got too many towels on here. [00:21:52] Speaker B: She asked the question. We don't know the answer. [00:21:56] Speaker A: My bad. I met the whole playoffs. [00:21:58] Speaker C: Okay. That's me. Pat Mahomes. [00:22:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:01] Speaker C: I thought you meant playing like this weekend. [00:22:03] Speaker A: This weekend would be Russell Wilson. [00:22:06] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what I was. That's where I thought your question was going. [00:22:09] Speaker A: Nine wins. Josh Allen follows with five. Then we got Stafford and Goff. Well, Goss not playing. Stafford has four. Then Herz, Jackson and Mayfield have two. [00:22:31] Speaker C: And everybody else, Nick, Jaden and Darnold. [00:22:36] Speaker A: Nada, Nada. Fresh, fresh meat. [00:22:42] Speaker C: Herbert, too. Don't forget about him. He does not have a playoff win. [00:22:46] Speaker A: They should have won that game, though, against Jacksonville. Elsa. [00:22:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:49] Speaker A: I was so pissed at that game. That was a meltdown of the century. [00:22:55] Speaker C: It's up there. It's up there. [00:22:57] Speaker A: It was definitely up there. All right, last game. Monday night, Minnesota Vikings, two and a half point favorites against the LA Rams in SoFi. Everyone knows about the big fires. There's like six fires going around I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to drive because there's a fire like that's right by Magic Mountain off the fire freeway. I might just stay up here, I don't know. But if the fires persist, this game gets moved out of SoFi into Glendale, Arizona at the Cardinal Stadium. Not a big fan of that, but it is what it is. Vikings favored by two and a half. 47 and a half over under. [00:23:40] Speaker C: Now I got that spread down to one. Rome down to one. Yeah. Vikings favored by one. [00:23:47] Speaker A: Well, if you want to take that one, you can go ahead and take that one. I think Vikings are just too good of a team on offense and defense, both sides of the ball. Great head coach. I think Donald just had a bad game last week. He gets victory number one in convincing fashion. Rams commendable for them making to the playoffs this year and. And having some pretty big victories at that with the injuries in the first half. Andrew's towards the tail the end of the season. I think they've done a great job. McVeigh, that, that's Jason's guy. This guy's been like fan number one even when I didn't agree. But he's done a great job this year. [00:24:34] Speaker C: You're not, you're not a big fan of McVeigh Rome? [00:24:36] Speaker A: I'm not. [00:24:37] Speaker C: Wow. [00:24:38] Speaker A: I've been pretty vocal all year about it. [00:24:41] Speaker C: I must have missed some segments. [00:24:43] Speaker A: Okay. Just blacked out. Dude. It was like so shocked. He just blacked out. [00:24:46] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean, to not be a fan of McVeigh is shocking. [00:24:50] Speaker A: I like him. [00:24:51] Speaker C: I am too. [00:24:51] Speaker A: I. I think. Yeah. Well, anyways, we'll go back to the tape later on on that one. But I got. Vikings take the points. They're gonna win by at least a touchdown or two. I think 10 points actually. Vikings blowout. They win. Move on. [00:25:10] Speaker B: I agree with you. I'm taking the Vikings as well. Fan I am is of McVeigh. The offense just super all over the place this entire year. Look at their. They had a three game win streak for San Francisco, the Jets in Arizona where they scored 12, 19 and 13 in those games last week to Seattle. They did get up and down the field, but, you know, I know ball. [00:25:34] Speaker A: I mean it was something Jimmy G. [00:25:36] Speaker B: But it's been interesting where they've kind of gone up and down offensively and especially for like past that Buffalo game that they, that they won 44, 42. It's been a different offense. The Vikings didn't look great obviously in this Sunday night game. But it was super close in that first half and it was really a defensive struggle until the Lions really got things rolling. So this Rams offense is not the Lions offense. I agree with you. I think Darnold, it was a kind of anomaly performance, if you will. I think they get things back on track. It's basically a pickup game. If it's minus one, whatever it is, I'll take the Vikings. [00:26:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean Vikings, three losses all year, twice to the Lions and to these Rams. That was a in Sofi coming off that Sunday afternoon loss to the Lions. Short week, traveling Thursday out west. [00:26:34] Speaker A: That was tough. [00:26:35] Speaker C: No favors for him. They lost their starting left tackle in the second quarter and really struggled against that Rams pass rush. Rams are a young team. They've gotten really better defensively. Stafford Cup. Puka. [00:26:50] Speaker A: You gotta imagine a lot of people picking this as a potential upset here, right? [00:26:53] Speaker C: Huh? [00:26:54] Speaker A: You gotta imagine a lot of people are probably picking this as a potential upset here. [00:26:57] Speaker C: What's a pick them game? I mean it's a pick them game and I've gone back and forth with this one. I'm going to go the Vikings here. I'm not. [00:27:06] Speaker A: I thought you were going to go the opposite way. [00:27:08] Speaker C: I just think the Vikings, their defense is going to rebound and I think the offense too. I mean Darnold, I, I think Darnold's not going to light the world on fire. But you know Justin Jefferson and those guys. Rams play a lot of zone. So there's going to be holes in the zone to get these guys open. Addison, they got to get him going. He'd been balling but one catch maybe against the Lions if that. Aaron Jones, a run game. It's a big game for Minnesota. You know, some people talking about a hundred million dollar game for Sam Darnold. You know, this is a hundred million dollar game for him. It's a big game. Maybe Dan Campbell said it best when he, him and Kevin O'Connell shook hands. See you in two weeks. In order for that to happen, the Vikings have to win. I'm taking the Vikings here. [00:27:56] Speaker A: By the way, lots of big time quarterbacks have had bad first games in the playoffs. I'm hoping that was the thing for Darnold with the Vikings against the Lions last week. Score, Aaron. How close? [00:28:08] Speaker C: I'm gonna say it's gonna be a low scoring game. I'll go 24, 21 Vikings. [00:28:20] Speaker A: You like that, Jason? [00:28:21] Speaker B: I do. I actually was gonna say the exact same thing. [00:28:24] Speaker A: Yeah? Yeah. I'm not sure if it's gonna be high Scoring at all. Revenge time. Right? High pressure. [00:28:34] Speaker C: A lot of revenge games this weekend. [00:28:36] Speaker A: Hollywood. [00:28:37] Speaker B: It'd be interesting. I don't think they move this game to Arizona because I'm pretty sure the fires will be controlled by them. But if they did it, I think it really will change some things going into that game. Rams lose their home field advantage. Rams now got to travel. You know, I think there'd be, there'd be some interesting stuff if that game to get moved as we're recording this about five days out. I don't think it'll get moved, but would be interesting if it did. [00:29:01] Speaker C: I don't believe it's going to get moved either, but it is interesting. The Rams did play obviously divisional rival Cardinals there and lost 41 to 10 on that field. So don't know if that comes into play. Going back to a stadium in which you got whipped at early in the year as far as home field, I mean it might be 60, 40 crowd. Vikings are going to show up pretty good. I mean, Rams fans, you know, they tell you this is their house and yet, you know, when the 49ers are there, it's quite the opposite. [00:29:29] Speaker B: So. [00:29:30] Speaker A: Yeah, all right. I know we're just starting the playoffs, but we gotta do it early. Super bowl favorites right now. Who you guys got coming out of the afc? Nfc. I want to hear it. We can hedge on these, of course, next week, but as of now, what you got on the afc? [00:29:52] Speaker B: I'll stick to my preseason prediction right now was Kansas City. I still think Buffalo and Baltimore are right there and wouldn't be surprised if they want it. But I'll stick with my preseason pick of Kansas City. On the other side their favors to win the super bowl right now at plus 300 when I see. I think Detroit right now is playing as good as you can and they are finding every way to win. And I would think they're going to go to the super bowl too. [00:30:24] Speaker A: If you had a pick right now who wins that matchup against K. I was going to say kfc. I'm really hungry right now. KFC and Detroit again. [00:30:34] Speaker B: I'm gonna go back to my preseason prediction. It was that Kansas City's gonna do the unlikely and win the 3P down Super Bowls. [00:30:42] Speaker A: You're breaking my heart, man. [00:30:46] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, it's all matchups to matchups. I don't even see Casey winning a playoff game in the series. So they're not going to. They're not. They're not going to get out of the divisional round. Casey, I Think I said that early in the season. I'm going to stick to my guns on that. I'm ready for Baltimore to take that leap in Lamar. So I'm going to say they get there. And then in the nfc, I. I love the Lions, but if the Philly Eagles get there and they're healthy, they're a bad matchup for the Lions. Given just where the Lions are health wise. Even though we got some guys back, Saquon could have a big game. A.J. brown could have a big game. I'm going to go. I want to go. I want it to be Lions, Ravens. But I'll say it's Eagles, Ravens. As of right now with the Ravens getting revenge back on the Eagles in winning the Super Bowl. [00:31:36] Speaker A: Wow. [00:31:38] Speaker B: I like that. I like that. [00:31:41] Speaker A: Yeah. You guys see that stat? Ravens always only win a Super bowl when their quarterback's 28. That's every 12 years. [00:31:49] Speaker C: I did see a sign. I saw a fan holding a poster. It was like, 2000, 2012, and now 2024. [00:31:56] Speaker A: Question mark is so weird, dude. It's weird how things line up like that. I would not be mad if that happens. Even though I know a lot of Baltimore fans and they're. After they beat the Steelers, man, I got so many messages on Instagram because I've been talking a lot of, like, the last dozen or so years and they were pouring it on. I just said, I'm not watching a stupid meme. I'm not watching your video. But it'd be cool to see a little more win it. I don't even remember who I picked. [00:32:25] Speaker C: Like preseason. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I forgot already. [00:32:28] Speaker C: I think you had Lions vs. Texans in the super bowl with the Lions winning, so I can tell you that right now. [00:32:33] Speaker A: Okay. [00:32:34] Speaker C: I don't think you're going back with the Texas in the Super Bowl. [00:32:37] Speaker A: No, no, no. I think they get a win, but I think that's. Man, it feels like the Bills are a little too young to make that leap. Casey has to be done. They got to be the best. You know what Casey reminds me of, like, the Lakers in the early 2000s when they could just, like, they feel like they could just turn it on whenever they want, you know? It was, like, really frustrating. [00:33:11] Speaker C: They're going to run into a Detroit team, right? This being the Lions, dude, don't break. [00:33:15] Speaker A: My heart like that. Dude. Why you have to break that one up? You could have brought. [00:33:18] Speaker C: I love that, man. I remember. I remember graduating and just listening to the Lakers. [00:33:24] Speaker A: It was so annoying. [00:33:26] Speaker B: This Detroit team actually scores points, though. Unlike that Detroit team. [00:33:30] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:33:31] Speaker C: They scored against the Lakers. They scored against the Lakers. [00:33:33] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. They played great. They played great. [00:33:37] Speaker C: I'll never. I'll never forget that, man. I'll go to my. I'll go to my dying grave of that big smile on my face. [00:33:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I hate that smile, man. I just want to punch the shit out of you when I say that. [00:33:46] Speaker C: I just remember the announcer. Like Detroit basketball. The crowd is going nuts. [00:33:54] Speaker A: I could tell Aaron's gonna be a handful of 20, 25, man. 2020. Baltimore makes it to the championship for sure. I feel like this year maybe they beat up the Bills. Is that possible in the championship game? [00:34:11] Speaker B: In the AFC championship game? [00:34:13] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then. [00:34:15] Speaker C: No, because if as of it is right now, they're going to match up next round. If they both win. [00:34:22] Speaker A: Oh, that sucks. That blows. [00:34:27] Speaker C: Because of the two and three. So, yeah, you have the. If you have the Texans winning Rome and you have Buffalo and Ravens, then the Texans will go to the Chiefs. I. I believe the Chargers win that game and the Chargers beat the Chiefs and the heart. We get a horrible AFC championship game. [00:34:46] Speaker A: Charger, Chargers, chances of being the Chiefs. When I do Texas being the Chiefs, I do. [00:34:50] Speaker C: That's. I mean, that's. It's all matchups, so we're just kind of hypothetical. But I do like the Chargers to beat the Chiefs if they get there for a third time. [00:34:56] Speaker A: Yeah. This sucks. [00:34:57] Speaker C: I don't like the Texans too, if they do get there. [00:35:01] Speaker A: Yeah. They are who they are, right? Nfc. Yeah. Lions. Lions all the way. Wild card Bucks in the Super Bowl. That's my dark horse pick. This is the Bucks. I think that's it for now. You guys good? [00:35:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:27] Speaker A: You guys feel good about your picks? [00:35:30] Speaker B: No. [00:35:30] Speaker C: For this weekend. For this weekend? Yes. For hypothetically. Not quite sure. Yeah, I like the picks this weekend. Yeah. [00:35:40] Speaker A: Any updates from the Chicago coaching higher circles? [00:35:44] Speaker B: I mean, they got to interview about a hundred people, so they interviewed Variable today. I think they got Ben Johnson on Saturday. Oh, you know, and then, you know, you know, then on 98 other people they're bringing in. [00:35:58] Speaker C: So, I mean, I don't want to. I don't want to break Jason's heart, but I don't think Ben Johnson is going to be the coach in Chicago. [00:36:04] Speaker A: Someone brought up a good destination for Ben Johnson. I. [00:36:08] Speaker C: Man, I think I know where Ben Johnson's going. I think it's wherever the variable domino falls. I. I've got all six coaches already picked out. [00:36:17] Speaker A: Rabel's the first domino to fall. For sure. [00:36:20] Speaker C: If the Bears offer, I think he takes that gig. If not, he'll. He'll likely end up in New England. [00:36:25] Speaker A: Rabel. [00:36:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:28] Speaker A: What about the Raiders? [00:36:31] Speaker C: That's. That's the third team. I think if the Bears offer, he'll take the job. If not, Craft's gonna do whatever he can to get him, and they got a quarterback there. The Raiders are kind of. Do you really want to go to the Raiders and play against all those coaches in that division? [00:36:48] Speaker A: Do you want to go to the Bears division and play against all those teams? [00:36:51] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:36:52] Speaker A: That's tough, too. [00:36:52] Speaker C: That's a tough job. [00:36:53] Speaker A: I'd rather take the past job. [00:36:54] Speaker C: Yeah, it sucks. Yeah. You just have Josh Allen in two kind of dysfunctional organizations. [00:37:00] Speaker A: You wait out Josh Allen for another five years and it's all open, you know. [00:37:05] Speaker B: So you gotta get to five years if it's at that point. These NFL coaches don't last as long, but. Yeah, you're not gonna break my heart. Aaron, I. While that's the coach I prefer the Bears to hire, I think it's the. The best move, the smartest move. Not everyone agrees with me about, you know, there's guys like Rome out there who want, you know, leader culture, guy that thinks he's a turnaround. But the Bears need an offensive plan. You have Caleb Williams, you have all these weapons. You need a person who's gonna bring offense to this team. Every. Everyone in your division, whether it's Kevin O'Connell and LaFleur. You know, Campbell's good, but he's got Ben Johnson there. You need an offensive plan. If Variable can bring that, Great. But we brought this up before. Varel's offense got worse year over year in Tennessee, and, I mean, it was hand the ball off to Derrick Henry, and when Arthur Smith left, the offensive got worse when LaFleur left the offense, you know, so whoever the head coaches need to have, you need to have an offensive plan. That's the plain and obvious thing T. Marco Ryan slapped. [00:38:05] Speaker A: The Four Niners haven't been the same since then, really. [00:38:08] Speaker C: Just fired their defensive coordinator. I know it's open for solid to come back. [00:38:13] Speaker B: Sal is allegedly coming back, so. [00:38:15] Speaker C: But. [00:38:16] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, we'll see. I wouldn't be shocked. I think there's a. There's a bunch of stuff going out there, I think, with Ben Johnson, because there's stuff. You know, we talked about the Jags being a thing, but there's stuff about. He wouldn't go there if Bulky still the general manager, so, you know, I think Ben Johnson's being pretty selective for a guy that's never been a head coach. There was stuff going around Chicago today that like, you know, polls has been Johnson as his top guy, but it's not sure what the Bears president, Kevin Warren's gonna think. And there's some stuff around, you know, Ben Johnson walking in, like, he's basically interviewing the team, which I, I think these guys are interviewing the Bears at the same time because there is, you know, I'm investing my first head coaching or maybe only a head coaching job into this organization. How are you going to do it? How are you going to run this thing? So there's a lot of question marks. I totally expect the Bears to mess this up, and I can be able to rip the choice. At that time, you know, I was. [00:39:07] Speaker A: Kind of shocked that you, you brought up that you were a Jacksonville fan. And I was thinking, like, man, what if he was a Jacksonville fan? Like, would you? And I was like, no, you wouldn't. So I guess you're. You're. You're out of luck either way. But what if Salah takes the Jacksonville job? He interviewed for it earlier, right? [00:39:23] Speaker C: Would that be weird? [00:39:24] Speaker A: I don't. [00:39:25] Speaker C: I don't see Sala getting a coaching. Head coaching job. He might now. Yeah. Right now. [00:39:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:39:30] Speaker C: Not this. Not the cycle. He either goes back to the 49ers or he becomes a defensive coordinator on maybe like a Ben Johnson or somebody staff that gets one of these jobs. [00:39:40] Speaker A: I would like him back with the 49ers. [00:39:43] Speaker C: That's a possible good destination form. I mean, the doors. The door's open. I mean, Kyle Shanahan got rid of that guy pretty quick. Supposedly he's getting demoted to special teams coordinator. So. Hey, keep him on the staff. [00:39:58] Speaker A: Yeah, why not? All good, all love. Beautiful. We'll see how we do, guys. We'll have a recap after the games next week. [00:40:12] Speaker B: Sounds good. [00:40:13] Speaker A: Have a try. January.
