[00:00:00] Speaker A: Happy Friday, everybody. This is Rome. We have a fun, exciting pod today. We recorded last night after the Thursday night football game. Me and the guys were feeling loose. Lots of funny takes throughout the night because it was late at night. But we do cover Thursday night football talk. The Chargers big win, big divisional win against the Denver Broncos. And then we go over NFL lines, we go over bats sides, over unders, what to take, what to avoid. Lots of more stayaways than usual. The guys definitely lean towards the stayways on this one. So kind of interesting. They kind of took a page out of my book. And then we talk a little college football playoffs with the playoffs starting tonight with Indiana and Notre Dame. And we also cover the games on Saturday, so you definitely want to check that out. What sides everyone's taking over, unders and all that good stuff. And then Jason, of course, we got give him a little F1 love. He comes in, talks about the newest info coming out of Red Bull. Don't want to miss that. But first, before we get into all that, I do want to talk a little about a little bit about the NBA Cup. It was just only a couple days ago. Guys want to, you know, ease into the NBA as the official NBA season really starts at Christmas, right? For me. Starts kicking around gear after Thanksgiving. I've been watching a lot of basketball lately, a lot of hockey, trying to catch up. But let's talk about the championship game really quick. First, congrats to the Milwaukee Bucks. Avenging last year's loss to the Indiana Pacers. They went undefeated. They beat the Thunder 9781 in the championship game in Las Vegas. It was a fun, exciting game. How do we get there? 97 81. Of course, the last game did not count on the official record books or the stats, but Giannis had a triple double and lots of big time defensive stops. Lillard was Lillard really solid. Lopez, Trent Jr. Had some big threes down the stretch to push the lead in the fourth quarter. That gave him put everything on the ice. Had the eggs chilling and the Thunder, it was a close first half. It was a tale of two halves really. In the first half, the Bucks were only up by one point. It was a really close game and there's a couple reasons for that. The Bucs had quite a bit of turnovers and then the Thunder could not make a basket from three point land. You figured that thing that might switch in the second half, but it never actually developed. They just, you know, the Thunder, for the first time this year, they look like a whole bunch of young Guys that were getting like another round of experience, another. Another taste of defeat, if you will. For lack of a better word. Thunder threw up so many bricks beyond the arc in the game. They were 5 for 32 for only 15%, whereas the Bucks were 17 for 40 for a 42% clip. Not bad. Bucks did win the rebounds 52, 43. They won the assist, 25, 13. All winning formulas. What really kept this game close in the first half, you know, as I mentioned, the bricks, Thunder's insistence. And there's been all these complaints about the NBA right now. Everyone's shooting too many threes. Everything's looking too cookie cutter. You look at The Celtics are shooting 53s a game. It's not a fun game to watch it. It's not fun. And I totally get the gripes and all that. But one thing about the cup, and I still don't see the purpose of the cup besides bringing some meaning to some regular season games before things get kicked into high gear after the new year. But one thing I did like, it was a nice change of pace from seeing all these 130 to 140 point games. This 97 to 81. It's an ass kicking. It's an ass kicking for sure. But it was close defensively. 19 turnovers by the Bucks. Not a clean game by any stretch of the imagination. And. And the second half was all defense. It was quite phenomenal. They held the Thunder to 14 and 17 points in the third and fourth frames. Impressive, man. This. This is a Thunder team that can get up and down. They're quick in transition. They got. They got the deep ball. They got Jalen Williams, who in my opinion kind of looks like a. Like Bob Marley and like. Kawhi Leonard had a kid, I guess. I don't know. He kind of has like this swagger to him, almost like a. He has like broad shoulders like. Like Kawhi kind of. It's like that Kobe playbook a little bit. Dries to either side of the key, pops back for a fade away. I like the kid, man. He's really good coming out of Santa Clara. But yeah, after this game, though, I know we don't want to overblow things. It's just the NBA cup. It's the second iteration of it. One thing I did like, I did like how Darvin Ham talked about the Lakers winning the cup last year and them having like a champagne, all that whole thing. And maybe it's like a little false sense of accomplishment and you know, like so early in the season because after that, the Lakers let down. I, I think they lost like what, 10 of the next 12 games. It was quite ugly. I was not happy. As a Laker fan, I was not happy. Pacers end up still doing well. Of course they lost in the cup final. They were really competitive and made some noise in the playoffs. But I really appreciate it. The Bucks still celebrated, but they didn't pop open the Michelob and the champagne and they just ignored the whole hoorah hoopla in the locker room. They just kind of chilled in the locker. They're still sipping, still dancing, celebrating, but it was subdued. They were recognizing their win but not going too crazy because you got to get back on the races, you got to get back on the horse after this. And that's the weird thing about this NBA cup is that there's so much anticipation, so much build up and it's so different. At least in the NBA landscape you see this all the time in other, other leagues, you know, especially in, in European soccer. So they're probably a little more comfortable with having like these mini tournaments and stuff like that throughout the year. They NBA, it's still fresh and like you're kind of treating it, they're treating it like an NBA finals. I don't like how there's actually more fanfare for this. I'm not a big fan of that. I think the NBA cup will eventually turn into something. I'm kind of digging it, just how the games were, especially in, in the knockout rounds. Really competitive, not as high scoring but still entertaining. Good defensive stops. We still got the three ball. Okay. For all you guys that, you know me sound like a boomer. We still had threes okay. Just wasn't as many. And that's okay. That's okay. I like seeing dunks, I like seeing post up moves. I like seeing, you know, you know, bad two, so to speak, deep fadeaways. It's exciting to me. I like seeing Giannis and people get, getting up and getting stuffs at the rim. That's fun basketball, that, that's what it's all about. But yeah, key takeaways. The Bucks overall, this is a 13th win in the last 16 games after a 2 and 8 start. There was rumors, things trickling in the media that if they keep on sucking, maybe the Bucks entertain trading Giannis to another team. We heard the Nets, they have a lot of assets, a lot of space, things to make that work. There's always rumors of the Lakers. Are they going to find, you know, like, you know, their next wilt the next Guy to take over. I'm not gonna get on like a LeBron James, you know, rant right now. I think you guys heard some of it. Appreciative of the championship, don't get me wrong. I love it. Thank you so much, James. But, you know, just. Yeah, we'll just leave it like that. We'll just leave it like that. But they really turned around. Doc Rivers has really turned this team around. Lillard is looking like Lillard not as tired. Lopez not playing as much, but he comes in. They're. They're a really lengthy team. That's one thing that really upset the Thunder a lot. Thunder's lengthy team themselves. They're young, quick, they're fast. They match up well against almost everybody in the NBA and the. And the Bucks as well. But they're starting to find the right formula down in Milwaukee. I gotta give Rivers his props. And Giannis, he's playing like the best player in basketball right now. And I know everyone says Jokic is the number one guy for me, I'm a big Giannis guy, but he does on both sides of the ball on offense and defense, and he really came through with that triple double. If the Bucs play like this for the rest of the year, you know, if they keep on developing and gelling, you know, Lillard and Giannis are starting to get more familiar with each other, starting to trust each other. They got Trent Jr. Coming in with big minutes. They got A.J. green, but he was solid off the bench as well. They have a really nice team. And then once they get Milton back, man, they're gonna make some noise. I don't know. They're starting to play like that year that they won the championship. And I think we should keep a close eye on them because if they're playing like that, if Giannis is that guy, I like their chances as much as anybody to bring home another championship to Milwaukee Thunder. They looked young, all good, you know, they are dominant. I still like them coming out with the number one seed out in the West. Not too many guys can match what they got going on. And we'll see. It's going to be a race for the best reckon league between them, the Cavs and the Boston Celtics. But fun NBA cup finals. I dug it. I like that the Bucs did not overly celebrate getting that false sense of, you know, accomplishment or finality of the season so early in the season. I can see why the Lakers had a letdown after that. Actually, that makes a lot of sense. So props for Darvin Ham, you know, I thought Darvin Ham did a decent job of the Lakers. I feel like the media stuff, all the memes are going about him a little harsh. You know, they're really. He didn't look great on the sideline. Right. He didn't, he didn't fit the mold of what people were looking, Looking for what, what they wanted their coach to do. And granted, he could have, he could have called some timeouts. And there's like a whole bunch of game management we can get into on a deeper dive one day if we get like a Laker Super Laker fan on the pod. But no coincidence that Milwaukee looks back and better than ever ever since they had Darvin Ham on the sidelines and now they got Rivers Ham, the rest of the coaching staff, solid. Watch out, Bucks are coming. What's up, y'all? We got Aaron Jason, full lineup on the pod tonight. We're recording Thursday night, December 19, days away from Christmas or the happy holidays, however you guys want to, you know, celebrate that thing with family, friends, lots of alcohol. Maybe not, I don't know. But tonight was a fun game for Thursday night. Pretty odd first half, I would say. Dick with a kicker strikes again with that. Pretty cool. I, I don't, I'm not really sure what the rules are. I, I, that totally caught me for a loop. And there was like another one where I think when Denver scored that touchdown at the close to the end of the second quarter where one of the defensive linemen kept on moving forward. So that should have been, I don't know. [00:11:34] Speaker B: Yeah, that was a missed call by the ref. [00:11:36] Speaker A: Yeah, that was a weird play. But besides that, though, Dick of the kicker comes through game enough. It turned the game from a, what, 11 point game, which, which seems a little much. It kind, it kind of felt like really heavily towards the Denver side. And then the Chargers at least brought down the eight. Really manageable. You got to figure like they, they were pretty excited only being down by eight. And then the second half was a totally different game. Herbert, his own line kept him up. Had some nice rollouts that game. Clinching touchdown at the end of the game with two minutes left or maybe it was like a minute and a half. I don't know. Who was Haskins? I, I think that was really nice. I think it was like 30 yards out to make it 34, 27. Big win for the Chargers. Denver, I feel like they're doing well for the year, so I'm not feeling too sympathetic or sad for them, but big win thoughts, guys. On the Thursday night Football game between the division rivals. [00:12:35] Speaker C: Yeah. Huge win for the Chargers. I was talking with Aaron before. [00:12:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:42] Speaker C: We're trying to remember who. Who we picked. Pretty sure we were all on the Chargers, although we can go back to the record and check on that. [00:12:48] Speaker A: But I think we're all charged down. [00:12:50] Speaker C: All right. Well, pretty Aaron and I agree. We're pretty sure we were all Chargers. Moneyline thought it would be a little bit closer, but Amazon put in the broadcast towards the end pretty much. Now you had the AFC playoff picture is locked in at this point. [00:13:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:13:06] Speaker C: Is there like a 1% chance? The Colts and a bunch of million things have to go. Right. But now you've got four teams in the AFC at all. Nine wins. Chargers and Broncos kind of in that with nine and six with a. With the Ravens at nine and five. So now you're just kind of jockeying for some playoff seeds and division titles here at the end. But the afc, you know, seven teams are locked in. Chargers looked really good offensively there in the second half. A big performance by a couple different guys. If you're a Gus Edwards fantasy owner and you started him in the playoffs, that was a huge, huge start. Most people probably left him on the bench, however. But I don't know. Really good game for a Thursday night. I think we've been treated to a lot of good Thursday night games and I think this is one of them. [00:13:49] Speaker A: Good. Yeah, Thursday night games. [00:13:51] Speaker B: I mean, great job by the NFL what3 weeks ago flexing this game in for Thursday night. The first time they've ever done that. So that was a flex game and it turned out great. [00:14:02] Speaker A: Yeah, I think I do remember that. Yeah. No, it was the first time we've done it. Nice call. Fun game. Rivals, you know, fighting for playoff positioning. Denver's still in it right now. They're projected the seventh seed Chargers go up to the sixth seed. As things stand, they'll face the Steelers and Denver would face Buffalo. Pretty exciting stuff. Any other takeaways from the game? I know the running back for if Denver was going to win. I had this like this whole take where I would be like it's not. What is it? Estimate. Is that. Is that how they pronounce the name Estimate? [00:14:41] Speaker C: Yeah, Notre Dame. [00:14:42] Speaker A: To me, really weird last name. I'd never seen a name pronounced like that. But I was also be like it's s time. You know, because he was balling out in the first half. It was really fun. He was hitting those gaps. The Denver's online was playing really great. They're moving the ball. I know they were talking about how Denver doesn't run the ball very well and Chargers have like a pretty what top. One of the top run defenses and, and the NFL. But Denver was having their way in the first half, so great turnaround after the second half. [00:15:11] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean this came. I mean it was a much more higher scoring game than we thought. The over under became closed at 41 and a half. 427. [00:15:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:19] Speaker B: You had the two of the top three scoring defenses in the league with Chargers, Broncos and then the third team being the Eagles. [00:15:27] Speaker A: I did not know that. [00:15:28] Speaker B: Yeah, we got a shootout. I mean you mentioned it. Tale of two halves with the Broncos scoring touchdowns from their first three drives. [00:15:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:39] Speaker B: And then really from there didn't muster anything. Chargers stepped up, held them out of the end zone. Couple field goals there. So yeah, as you guys mentioned, the playoffs look set seating's where we're going to look at. Obviously seedings can play a big role. The Steelers playing the Ravens, who's big game last Saturday, who's going to get that third spot? [00:15:59] Speaker A: So yeah, big game this Saturday. Let's talk about that. That the longest fair catch free kick in NFL history tonight. Cameron Dicker. I'm kind of confused. So Chargers defense came through. They held Denver fair catch. It was obviously interference, so there's a penalty. So the 15 yards right after the catch puts him in. I guess you have since time already ended, have two options, either running one play or kicking a field goal or like a free kick as they described it. Don't remember seeing that ever there. There's one game back. I want to say like 20 years ago I could have sworn it was like the Colts, but someone re returned it for a touch touchdown. But dude, the guy had maybe like 10 more yards to go. He could have made a 67 yard field goal from there. It, it, it cleared it 57 yards and it made the game manageable. I feel like that was like a big turning point for the Chargers. It kind of saved the half, so to speak, because. Saved the, the morale. At least that's what I got. [00:17:08] Speaker C: Yeah, I think there was a. I saw it on X. First time this had been since like the 70s or something like that. [00:17:14] Speaker B: 70. 76. [00:17:15] Speaker C: They said 76. Yeah. Weird article. It's like article five, section B. If the kicking team interferes with a receiver who has signaled for a fair catch, the receiving team will have the option to extend the period by attempting a fair catch kick or by a snap from scrimmage after enforcement of an applicable Penalty. So I'm. Props to the refs for knowing Article 5, extension of a period, section B. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Dude, I feel like the NFL rules sometimes are. Are like our. Our constitution, you know, it's just, like, embedded with, like, layers and layers of. Of different roles. [00:17:54] Speaker B: It took, like, five minutes to get it sorted. [00:17:56] Speaker A: It was a long time because, like, what the hell's going on? [00:17:58] Speaker B: They kept going back and forth, the sideline to sideline, like, hey, what do you want to do? And they're like. And then I think the Chargers hardball's like, wait, where's the ball? Out. Can we make this field goal? Can we not Because. And then, like, the Bronx, but like you said, Rome. I mean, that kick would have been good for maybe 70 yards, but it's a free. It's a free kick. There's no. There's no rush. [00:18:17] Speaker A: I'm really confused about the whole thing. So you can. [00:18:19] Speaker B: You can kick it low and you don't have to worry about it getting blocked, too. So. Yeah, it's. It's. It's a weird play. And I agree. The Chargers got a lot of momentum from that. Because that kick. From that kick and play going forward, they dominated the game. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Like. Yeah, yeah. Rah, rah. Nikki Glazer's on tonight's postgame show now. Damn it. Catch that. You know, this is why you're not supposed to have highlights on right now. Not that I have a thing for Nick Glazer kind of, but. Stop. [00:18:51] Speaker C: You stopped mid thought in a trance. But I don't have a thing for Nikki Glazer. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Anyways, fun game. Playoff pitchers. Definitely honing down is all we got here on this Thursday night game. That's it. [00:19:06] Speaker C: Yep. Pretty sure we got a big week ahead of us to cover with the rest of the week in college. [00:19:13] Speaker A: Beautiful. Well, it is Thursday. It is Christmas. The snow time. Ready to do some NFL lines. I don't know where I was going with that. [00:19:24] Speaker C: You know where you're going with it. You just don't know how to say it. [00:19:27] Speaker A: Yeah. Trying to keep this PG based on last week's F bomb episode. NFL Week 16. [00:19:38] Speaker B: 16. All right, guys, 16. [00:19:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna type this up as we go, so bear with me here. I'm just gonna copy paste new format, see how. Son of a. You know what? Forget it. It's all good at Jay Z. [00:19:56] Speaker C: Took less than 30 seconds for him. [00:19:57] Speaker B: To start cussing after the PG statement. [00:20:02] Speaker C: Yep. [00:20:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Sorry, guys. [00:20:06] Speaker C: He's like Danny Glover and Angels in the outfield when he's the cussing manager. [00:20:10] Speaker A: He goes, I am very much like that. [00:20:12] Speaker B: Keep the profanity down. [00:20:15] Speaker A: That's. Dude, I love that movie. I watched that with my daughter. She liked it. The graphics are terrible. They are very bad. But Matthew McConaughey's in it. Who's the guy that died? [00:20:32] Speaker C: Tony Danza. [00:20:33] Speaker A: Tony Danza. A lot of actors in there. All right, NFL lines. Let's do it. Okay, I got first game up. Houston Texans vs. The Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes got cleared to start this week. Bad news, everybody. Bad news. I was hoping to have a. That that ankle is going to be broken myself. If I was the doctor, I would have done like an extra tug to the right. But that's why I'm not a doctor. Couldn't pass the ethics test. So they're favored by three and a half points over under 40. One and a half. Who you guys got? [00:21:13] Speaker C: We've been talking about the tough stretch for the Chiefs here as we wind down the season 13 and 1. They got the two game lead in the conference. To me, this is one that starts their potential decline and make it interesting for the number one seed in the afc. I'll take the Texans plus three and a half. [00:21:32] Speaker B: Yeah, interesting. With Mahomes out, the Texans were a slight favorite by one and a half. Now with my homes back in Rome, like you mentioned, three and a half point favorites. Chiefs expected to get Hollywood Brown back. Yeah, he got hurt early in the preseason. [00:21:47] Speaker A: Not good news either. [00:21:48] Speaker B: I don't buy too much into that. I mean these guys, we've seen guys that basically missed a long time of a layoff don't really come in and make an impact right away. [00:21:57] Speaker A: Texans have not looked good though. Granted they might be like the worst looking nine win team out there. [00:22:03] Speaker B: Well, they're nine win team and they're going to host a playoff game. Yeah, and this is a playoff game. So the Texans trending up, Are they trending down? [00:22:12] Speaker A: They got to go up. They can't go down further than what they've been. [00:22:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean three and a half, that's. That's a lot of points here. I'll take the three and a half. Give me the Texans three and a half. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Nice. I have no confidence in the Texans winning this at all. But I just can't find it in my blood to ever go for the Chiefs right now. Nick Wright, everybody else. I found out I have cousins that are big Chiefs fans. Like how the did that happen? Disgusting. [00:22:48] Speaker C: Probably asking how you became a Steelers fan. [00:22:50] Speaker A: Well, I've always been A Stalers fan, I believe. Black and gold, baby. I'm gonna take the Texas money line just because. Yeah, I don't think it's gonna be that close. These are all Saturday games, by the way, which is kind of weird. We have three, two. Just two Saturday games. That's it. [00:23:14] Speaker C: Two Saturday games. College. College football. Regular season is done. We put the NFL on Saturday. [00:23:20] Speaker A: I love it. Pittsburgh Steelers. My Steelers big game. Baltimore Ravens division rivals. It's been Ravens six and a half point favorites over under 45 and a half. A lot of news has come out how lamar is only 1 and 4 lifetime against the Steelers. Honestly, he's already played 12 games against them. So the fact he's only played 5 games but entered for half that time. Close game last time, but this time it's in Baltimore. I'm a little nervous. But we do have T.J. wattback and I believe we're 1 in 10 without him and we're winning with him. So I hope some of this. I don't feel good about this game, but I'm gonna go for my Steelers. [00:24:11] Speaker C: Taking your. You're taking the Steelers money line. Plus six and a half. Okay. [00:24:15] Speaker A: All right. I'll take the plus six and a half actually. Yeah. [00:24:19] Speaker C: Okay. All of a sudden case there. Just in case. [00:24:22] Speaker A: Less confident for sure. It's. It's no confidence actually. But we got T.J. watt. You got. You gotta figure, you know, Russell won't have two back to back bad games. This isn't Denver, but who knows, maybe we all come back to reality a little bit. [00:24:38] Speaker C: Yeah, T.J. watt in. [00:24:42] Speaker A: But Pickens is out. Still. [00:24:45] Speaker C: Pickens is still out. [00:24:46] Speaker A: Not good. [00:24:47] Speaker C: Too many points for me in this game. Six and a half of the Ravens is a lot rivalry game. Both these teams get up for this game. This is. Is always a physical rivalry. We talked about the last game in Pittsburgh. The Ravens do win this game. However, six and a half's way too many points. I'll take the Steelers plus six and a half. [00:25:08] Speaker B: Yeah, make it a clean sweep, boys. I'm on the Steelers getting the points as well. Six and a half, no pick ins like you mentioned. Watt is in, Fields is out. That could come back to feels this out. Justin Fields is out. [00:25:24] Speaker A: Son of a. [00:25:25] Speaker B: But it looks like Rashad Bateman's gonna be out for the Ravens. He had a big game this last one against the Giants when he had two scores. So six and a half's a lot. This could be a defensive battle. We'll see if it comes down to the kicking game Boswell. I trust in Tucker. You know we mentioned where does his head out only five extra points in the last game. Maybe a big kick here could be the difference. Let's see. But I like the Steelers getting six and a half. [00:25:49] Speaker A: All right, time for Sunday games. Cincinnati or Cleveland Browns. Visit the Cincinnati Bengals. Bengals are favored by seven and a half. Famous Jamis let me down last game. He's been hot, cold, hot, cold. He was, he was definitely cold on the last one and benched 46 and a half over under. I just don't see any reason why the Bengals are going to lose. I don't know if I got the points. That's like a lot even on a shitty Browns team. But I'll, I'll, I'll take them straight up. [00:26:22] Speaker C: You said seven and a half, Aaron, what do you have it at? [00:26:25] Speaker B: I have seven and a half too. [00:26:27] Speaker C: Okay, ESPN bets got it at nine. Now I don't know if that's which one you take here, so that seems kind of high. But DTR is starting for the Browns. Bengals have just been unbelievable offensively. I'll take your guys's -7 and a half for the Bengals. [00:26:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean DTR starting. I'm not sure you're going to get much from him. Higgins was questionable for the Bengals, but set to go since these defense has been more miss and hit. But they did get a lot of turnovers last week against Levis. DTR is kind of a similar guy. He'll turn the ball over and if they go to Jameis in the second half, we know he'll turn the ball over. Seven. [00:27:11] Speaker A: Played a lot this year though, huh? [00:27:12] Speaker B: Who? [00:27:13] Speaker A: Dtr? [00:27:14] Speaker B: Just a little mop up here and there. [00:27:16] Speaker A: Ucla, baby. [00:27:18] Speaker B: So I, I, I lean towards the Bengals seven and a half here to cover that. [00:27:24] Speaker A: Okay, you guys are pretty ballsy. Arizona Cardinals visiting the Carolina Panthers. Cardinals favored by five. 47 and a half over under. What's your thoughts on here? This is ugly. I don't like this one. [00:27:45] Speaker C: I don't love it. Cardinals are playing for something right now trying to get into the playoffs. Panthers are not a great. I mean they're still technically in the hunt right now. The Panthers last week they kind of let me down. Versus the Cowboys. [00:28:02] Speaker A: Really down? [00:28:04] Speaker C: Yes. But you know the Cardinals, they're a game back in the division. They really need this game. Five points I'm seeing it at right now. Seems quite like a lot. I would just take the Cardinals money line if you're going against it with the points. Man, I think I'll still take the card. If you're going to make me choose one way or the other with the points, I would say Cardinals minus five, but I don't love it. [00:28:32] Speaker A: I'll put you down for the money line. [00:28:34] Speaker B: Yeah, I like the Cards to win this game. If I had to take a side, two cards to cover. I mean, Carolina, they looked good for a month, and then last week just left a bad taste in all our mouths. Dallas was able to run the ball on them, so that makes me think Connor's going to have a good game. They lost to a backup qb. Kyler Murray should have a nice game here. The defense, I mean, Arizona defensively is not bad. Their defense has been their strength. They've really struggled on offense. Kind of got some things going last week. [00:29:04] Speaker A: They just signed their corner to a new contract as well. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I know Leggett is out for Carolina. Thielen is questionable. Cardinals win. I would lean towards them covering, too. [00:29:18] Speaker A: I heard his interview with somebody where he eats raccoon for Thanksgiving. And I've eaten, like, a lot of cool stuff. [00:29:26] Speaker B: Who eats raccoon? [00:29:27] Speaker A: Look at. Okay, country boy. He has a thick accent. I can't understand a word he says. I've had snake. I've had rabbit. I've had bear. Oddly, that elk, deer have not had raccoon. I'm kind of weird about having raccoon. Would you guys do it? [00:29:48] Speaker C: No. [00:29:49] Speaker A: No. What's the craziest meat you guys had? That's pause. [00:29:54] Speaker C: Chicken. [00:29:55] Speaker B: Chicken. [00:29:58] Speaker A: That seems about right. Jason, I don't know why I believe you. [00:30:03] Speaker B: Oh, that's funny. [00:30:04] Speaker A: At. [00:30:05] Speaker B: Oh, man. I have to think, man, you haven't. [00:30:07] Speaker A: Had a lot of crazy things, huh? Have you guys had a gator? [00:30:13] Speaker C: No. [00:30:13] Speaker A: Gator's good. [00:30:15] Speaker C: I'd only have to guess. I went to a bunch of Korean barbecue stuff in Orange county back in the day, and it could be. They could have served me whatever and I wouldn't have known. So there's probably some mystery meat there. [00:30:26] Speaker B: You had shark or. No, shark's pretty good. [00:30:28] Speaker A: Shark's good. I had shark, too. [00:30:30] Speaker B: It's legal. Yeah, it's pretty good. [00:30:33] Speaker A: In Mexico, I think. I've had dolphin. New Mexico. There's. There's an illegal meat market in Mexico City. You can get a whole bunch of things, like. Including tiger raccoons. [00:30:42] Speaker B: Like, what the. [00:30:43] Speaker A: This is up. All right. Anyways, next game, Philadelphia Eagles, three and a half point favorites, versus the Commanders. Wow. 45 and a half over under. I'm kind of shocked that they gave more love to them against the Steelers and the commanders granted away home and away but. [00:31:12] Speaker C: I think the Eagles are playing for something bigger. They're trying to get the first rep the first round by the number one oversee in the nfc. The commanders better recently but went through a pretty shaky stretch. You know winning the last but they played two pretty bad teams the last two weeks. The Eagles. They lost to them 2618 in the last meeting at the link. I think the Eagles have even proven to be. They've looked really good the past couple weeks. So I'm going to take the Eagles. [00:31:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I love the Eagles here. Three and a half number seems low to me. Commanders Jason mentioned gotten some wins but it gets poor. Teams could have lost last week on that two point conversion to a Saints team that was playing two rookie quarterbacks. Jaden Daniels after that first half hot start, kind of cooled down. Teams have kind of figured them out. Washington, they're ahead of schedule. I mean we thought they'd be better not this. [00:32:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:07] Speaker B: So I like the Eagles. Their defense is really tough. They're healthier. You know pass game for the Eagles showed up last week. I expect the run game to be the difference in this one. I like the Eagles to cover three and a half. [00:32:20] Speaker A: Yeah, this might be a Sunday pick for me but I, I'm leaning Ingles right now. But depending on what kind of news comes out till then I might go with a potential upset here with the commanders. Just one of those feelings, you know. Granted last week was not good for upsets. This is my first bad week I think of the year. It was, it was terrible. [00:32:42] Speaker C: New York Giants, what a thing to say. Week 15 was his first bad week of the year. [00:32:48] Speaker A: Well, as far as upsets goes, yeah, this is terrible. I called like six of them and like four of them did not come through. It was bad. [00:32:55] Speaker C: I don't remember any of that. I only remember Aaron's historic like week five college football week or whatever when he was telling us all that's the only big upset week I remember. [00:33:04] Speaker A: Guy can't walk around his own house. He's knocking everything over. It's the. That's what movie is that? It's a joke. Never mind. All right. New York Giants biz visiting the Atlanta Falcons. We heard the news. We haven't talked about it yet. Pennix gets the call up to start for the main of the season. I think we, we talked about this Aaron Jason about the over under probably being like three or four games or at least game games that he's gonna be playing. I Thought Cousins would be injured by like week 13 or 14. Same though, right? He wasn't playing well. Nine point favorites, 42 and a half with the rookie quarterback. No experience. That's a lot actually. That's a lot. [00:33:56] Speaker C: It's a lot and if, if I have to do a Rome take here this is a stay away game for me. [00:34:02] Speaker A: Oh but I'll. [00:34:03] Speaker C: But I'd stay away everything Falcons because I believe with them so much in the beginning of there they burned me so much. That is an awful Giants team. They may be the worst team in the league at this point. I think Drew Lock's back in the in the starting lineup. However getting nine points on the road against a rookie quarterback first start crazy seems like a lot. I have no feeling one way there. The Falcons probably win this game so I would take the Falcons money line if you're gonna make a pick. But nine points seems like a lot for them to cover for. An offense has gone nowhere with Cousins and now you're asking Penx to make something happen in his first start. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. [00:34:39] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean rookie quarterbacks, Rome, you mentioned it. First POD episode we ever did. They don't have success on their first starts like they don't. Nine points is ridiculous. Say what you want about the Giants, they are terrible on offense but they actually play pretty hard and are decent on defense. So they could stop the run game which all Atlanta seems to have the last two weeks. Given Kirk Cousins can't do anything I, I expect Jason's guy, Kyle Pitts. [00:35:06] Speaker A: Wow. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Have a nice game here. I think Pinnocks is going to look for him. Check downs over the middle. Whatever the prop bet is on Pitts. I like the over and yardage and I like the over and catches this week. That would be my more solid play over either side. But I would take the Giants getting eight and a half if I had to take a side here. [00:35:23] Speaker C: You know why Aaron's right on that is because every league that I own Kyle Pitts in, I'm already eliminated from the fantasy playoffs and so now that the game it doesn't count and matter for me. He's probably gonna have 120 yards and two touchdowns and 10 catches this week. [00:35:39] Speaker A: Yeah, probably. This is a weird stay away. Nine points is a lot. I'll. I'm gonna go with Jason who's gonna be playing quarterback for the Giants this week. [00:35:52] Speaker C: Drew Lock. [00:35:54] Speaker A: Oh, he's back. He's kind of due for a game, isn't he? [00:35:59] Speaker B: I mean it's gonna be a tight Game, man, I think it's gonna be a tight game. [00:36:04] Speaker C: Giants are 0 and 8 on the road so far this year, so they don't travel too. [00:36:09] Speaker A: They're too. I'm winning Falcons here, but about the field, the vibes on this one on Sunday, we'll see if the Christmas spirit is hitting me the right way next game. Detroit Lions exam point favorites against Jason's the Bears dude I love following. Like, I don't know why I get so much news on social media now on the Bears and it's like I sent Jason. I only sent you like a small portion of them because I like, I will bust up laughing now and like hearing like big cat too on Bart on barstool saying like, you know what the Bears are like, not that far off from winning. You know, they just need a new O line. They just need a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator, a new head coach, a new gm, a new owner, maybe a new stadium, maybe new city. And then they'll be there to win it all. Okay. Bears hands are jumping off so fast. It's great. Who you guys got? [00:37:14] Speaker C: No one hates the Bears more than Bears fans. The Lions are gonna. The Lions are gonna destroy the Bears. Ben Johnson is interviewing for the Bears head coaching position. He's gonna put, you know, he's gonna either gonna score up and down. They're gonna cover the over by themselves. The Lions in this game. The Bears offense is going to look terrible. The last three games they. I think the Lions have more points scored than the Bears have yards in the first half of the last three games. At this point, give me the Lions. I think it's minus six and a half. Heck, you can make it 10 and I take the Lions. [00:37:47] Speaker A: You know what's crazy, man? That Hail Mary like literally destroyed your year. Just deflated the whole year, right? [00:37:54] Speaker C: Absolutely, though it was huge. Turning point. They're five and two. If they. That Hail Mary's completed just six up and down. [00:38:02] Speaker A: Feeling good. Yeah. [00:38:05] Speaker B: But I mean, let's be real. I think it's a good thing for the Bears that that happened because then you get rid of Eber Foos and now you can get another coach in there. [00:38:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:12] Speaker B: And get the things going. I'm gonna go the opposite. Lions got so many injuries, they shouldn't be favored by a touchdown over anybody on the road, let alone a divisional game. [00:38:20] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. You were calling this early in the week. [00:38:21] Speaker B: So I'm going to take the Bears getting the points. As long as their defense actually plays with some passion and energy. They'll cover because the Detroit. That's where it's going to be at. Offense, offense, offense. Can they keep the Lions below 30 points? That'll be the key here. I like the Bears. Give me them plus six and a half. [00:38:39] Speaker A: You're not taking the upset anymore. [00:38:42] Speaker B: Set the potential upset. But I'm not. I'm not going to go that far. But the Bears, one thing they have done is they win at home and they play close divisional games at home. So there's nothing here to deter me from that. I'll take the bears getting the 7.6 and a half, whatever it is. [00:38:58] Speaker A: Fair enough. I lost track of where I was at. LA Rams versus the New York Super jets rounds here by three in MetLife Stadium. This is. Is this still a morning game? It is 46 and a half over under. Do you guys got. [00:39:22] Speaker C: I mean, I mean, who knows week to week what you're gonna get with. The jets had the win last week against the Jags after losing four straight. The Rams really got something to play for. You know, they're tied for the division. They're probably going to need to win the division to be in the playoffs. An LA team going to New York and being favored by three is a lot, but I'm still going to take the Rams minus three. [00:39:50] Speaker B: Aaron Rodgers has been playing his best football of the season. Yeah, he got a chance here at home. Crowd they're getting points. Rams 2 Nice wins there at home. Now they travel morning kickoff our time in New York. I'll take the jets plus three. They lose, they're not gonna. They'll lose by three or less. Rogers DeVontes look good. [00:40:13] Speaker A: Yep. [00:40:14] Speaker B: Garrett Wilson, I think she have a nice game here. Rams. Rams are still very young on defense. I think there's gonna be some big plays for Rogers to make there. Can and the jets got a good enough defense that they. I think we'll step up. That was a big one for them. I like the jets plus three. [00:40:28] Speaker A: You like the jets plus three. This is a pretty interesting game. Rams are starting to look like a team you don't want to face the playoffs. They've had some pretty big wins. If there's like a team that's had big wins, this is it. They're starting to get healthy. But you're right, Rogers have been playing decent. There was a stat man that was going on social media. I meant to save it, but I'm like so burnt out right now. But Aaron Rodgers having a statistically like still pretty solid year despite everything that's gone wrong. [00:41:02] Speaker B: Well I think Rome we talked about it off air. If Robert Tall is the coach this team is 7 and 7 right now and I'll stand by that. And still in the playoff Hunt They're 4 and 10. I believe they would be. I'd like to get Jason's take but I think when Robert Solomon was still there with this team would be had won a few more games and be probably 7 and 7 right now. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Think you're right. [00:41:21] Speaker C: I absolutely agree with you but not sure what Aaron Rodgers's Madden rating would look like and whether Woody Johnson would be happy about that. [00:41:30] Speaker A: Dude, that article, I haven't had a chance to read it up. I've only seen like highlights but not a good. Not a good look. [00:41:37] Speaker C: Not a good look. Yeah, Aaron's absolutely right. The defense fell apart as soon as Salah left left the team became more dysfunctional. A lot of people including us in the podcast talk about firing the coach. You know all the time be mostly the Bears coach at Eber Fluss but even in that situation the Bears got worse with Eber Fluss or after Eberfluss left and led to probably more dysfunction. Even in the losses just became worse and the jets did it so early in the season when there was still still something to play for. And then you're going to put you know, was it the special teams coach took over? You put the special teams coach in charge. It just rocked too much of the foundation of that team and I agree with there they'd be much better position right now. Would they have made the playoffs? I don't know. You got some pretty good teams out west with the Broncos and Chargers who came on late but they became irrelevant as soon as they fired the coach and really just lost the entire team. [00:42:34] Speaker A: One thing I'll be changing in the future from here on out, I'm definitely going to remember this year where like you're kind of pushing the fire the coaches, you know, sometimes maybe it's best to just wait till the end of the year. [00:42:45] Speaker B: Well I mean the Bears were already eliminated from the playoffs so I don't really mind that firing and just the clock management just egg on your face there on Turkey day. Thanksgiving just did not look good. Sala, we talked about it. He got fired what Week six playing a game that Monday night for the divisional lead against Buffalo. So I mean and they lost that game because the kicker missed what three field goals and a field goal there to win it at the end. So you think about all the jets games that they've lost that have been just so close down the stretch here. Obviously they had that stinker in Arizona which every team seems to that travels out there from back right back in the Midwest or East Coast. Jason firsthand saw that one dude firsthand. [00:43:33] Speaker C: So I mean still never found myself out in Joshua Tree. [00:43:38] Speaker B: Yeah, I've got sources out there still looking for them and they're coming up empty. [00:43:43] Speaker A: That's funny. [00:43:44] Speaker B: But yeah, I mean I think, I think, you know, Aaron Rodgers deserves an apology from a lot of people in the media because he got blamed for solid getting fired. And it comes out that he was telling everybody like dude, like hold the brakes, stay patient, stay the course. And Woody Johnson, as you mentioned, if your matting rating is not good, you're not coming on the team. [00:44:02] Speaker A: God's a idiot and he didn't get the position from Trump. So he's staying, he's sticking around. Congrats. [00:44:12] Speaker C: Going back to the the firing coaches, I, I stand by the Eberfluss getting fired because of the three straight division games and the game management stuff they're talking through. But to your point Rome, as we look for this stuff firing solid this that early in the season wasn't going to do anything for the season. Firing the coach basically means hey, we're done with this season. We're looking to just move on with this team, see something different, get some stuff on film. But the NFL is not the NBA, NHL, maybe even baseball where you can make a mid mid season change. There's too much strategic playbook scheme. Things that from a, from a coaching staff to make a change mid season that the team can adapt to like hockey. Hockey, they fire the coaches all the time midseason. They bring a guy who's won like 600 games plus I'm in there. Yeah, I mean those, those changes like are much easier because there's a lot of base and sameness to it. NBA you can do same thing as well Football, it's, it's an entire off season of preparation to get you to a play to place to start the season and then you're building and building and building from an offense or a defense throughout the year. Like you do play install and scheme and package install throughout the summer and then you're building on these things all year doing this stuff mid season now you're going back to zero and kind of scrapping things and readjusting and it just doesn't work. So whenever you're firing the coach, you're throwing the red flag in the season. The jets thought, oh, they're Going to do this to make the playoffs. That's never been proven to be the case. [00:45:41] Speaker A: Well, you know, Raiders had a nice turnaround when they fired their coach a couple years back, which they should have hired that guy as a coach. I can't. I can't remember his name right now. There's been instances, but this year has been like a total battle. Backtrack on that. You don't want to do it too early unless you have like a solid, A solid assistant coach to take over right away. [00:46:00] Speaker B: Well, I mean, we've had three firings in season. The one that has worked was the Saints. They got rid of Dennis Allen after losing seven straight. [00:46:08] Speaker A: They've been playing better. [00:46:09] Speaker B: They've been playing a lot better. Yeah, but, you know. [00:46:13] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, let's go. Next game. I got the Tennessee Titans at the Indianapolis Colts. Colts here by three and a half. Levis is out. And I think Rudolph kind of appropriate, right? It's Chris around the corner. Rudolph starting at quarterback for the Titans, 42 and a half over under. [00:46:37] Speaker C: I like the Colts of this one better team. I feel more confident if Levis was playing because I know there'd be some turnovers for the Colts. However, I. I just think there's some playmaking dynamics of the Colts. They stuck in a lot of these games. They're still kind of playing for something even though they're pretty much out of the playoffs. But this is. Should be a game that they win and I take them to cover the points as well. [00:46:59] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:47:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm going Colts too. I mean, they still theoretically have a chance, but this is a good chance for Richardson to get some reps and prove that he's the quarterback going into the future. If he struggles. If he struggles, you know, there's possibility he could be out, maybe trade in the off season. Who knows? But big game for the Colts. They should have won last week against the Broncos. Outplayed them in every way. Shape and Forum, Tennessee, they beat themselves, man. [00:47:28] Speaker A: They dropped the touchdown. [00:47:30] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, they literally dropped. They dropped the ball. Let's put it that way. [00:47:34] Speaker A: They dropped the ball. Yeah, they dropped the ball. [00:47:36] Speaker B: And now here comes on Rudolph. Like you mentioned Rome, it's Christmas Eve. Know, it kind of scares me. Rudolph. Christmas. But I'm gonna. I'm gonna take the Colts here. [00:47:45] Speaker A: Minnesota Vikings -3 SCL Seahawks. Now we got to the. Now we're in the Sunday afternoon games. 43 and a half over under. Tough game. I think it's gonna be a tough game. I think it'll Be tougher than what you think. [00:48:05] Speaker C: Yeah, tough game. Seattle generally has a really good home field advantage, but that has not been the case this year. They're only three and five at home. [00:48:14] Speaker A: Minnesota, is it really three and five? [00:48:16] Speaker C: They're three and five at home this year. In general you had 12. The 12th man advantage. The, you know, the noise decibels of that field. I forgot. The what? The name. Whatever the name of that field for the Seahawks play for now. But you know that's generally something they're always going to have in that back pocket is a tough place to play. But Minnesota looked incredible last week. Aaron and I went in on Monday's pod just talking about them getting Jordan Addison involved along with Justin Jefferson. The run game has kind of come along as they needed it. I like. I like Minnesota in this game. [00:48:48] Speaker A: I. [00:48:49] Speaker C: The three points does scare me a little bit but I mean it opened minus four and a half and came down three to Minnesota and I think that puts it in a prime place where I take my Minnesota -3. [00:49:00] Speaker B: Yeah, the line opened up so high because I think Geno Smith was questionable. Now he's in. I mean Minnesota's rolling right now. Scares me. Short week they played Monday night. They're traveling to Seattle. That place is rowdy. Seattle, like Jason mentioned, traditionally is a very good home team. They haven't been this year and Seattle has struggled against the best teams in the NFC and AFC all season. The you got. They got smoked by Green Bay. Green Bay and Minnesota are kind of similar teams. Good quarterbacks can pass the ball, can run the ball defensive strong. It feels like the Vikings should win this game and cover. That's where I would lean. But I, I would stay away from this as a. If I was a betting man. But Vikings would be the side I would go with here. [00:49:47] Speaker A: Nice. This might be a potential upset for me actually. I just feel like Geno Smith has like these games. He can get the team behind him. He's kind of due for one. They had some tough battles this year, but I feel like this prime time, it's Sunday before Christmas. I'm just feeling the vibes on this one. I don't know why vibes is a theme today. I'm leaning Seahawks upset and they give Vikings a nice little loss. Maybe it wakes them up. I don't know. Whatever. I really don't care. But yeah, I'm leaning upset on this one. Where the hell am I? I just scroll down too far. San Francisco 49ers came out today that Brock Purdy bought his O line new vehicles as Christmas Day present three sequoias and three tundras souped up the interior in 49er crimson red. Is it crimson red or. I, I don't know, like whatever red that is. They look nice. They look nice. All. All white. How the hell does he afford that though if he's like only like in a million dollar salary, you know, it's like all the Applebeats endorsements. [00:50:57] Speaker B: He's got some new commercials. [00:50:58] Speaker A: Oh yeah, he's a lot of commercials. Dolphins favored by one at home. 44 and a half over under. [00:51:10] Speaker C: I like the Dolphins in this game. What? Yeah, Garendo's likely out. You're going to like your fifth string running back for Purdy. Dolphins don't. They kind of have something to play for, but don't really. You got to go San Francisco across. Across the country to Miami. I'll take the Dolphins. [00:51:30] Speaker B: I'm going with the opposite. I like the 49ers cross country. They played on a Thursday night. Not an issue of rest. Yeah, they're going to the fifth running back but Miami defense is not great. Waddles out on offense for the Dolphins 49ers. A lot of pride. A lot of pride to play for. I think they'll play harder for Shanahan then. The Dolphins are going to play on their side. I'll take the Dolphins here in the. In basically a pick them game. [00:51:55] Speaker A: Wow. Nice. I'm leaning for Andrews Moneyline on this one. I don't think Miami's good. I think the thing with Tua is coming to an end soon. McDaniel. I kind of lean. I got. I kind of got him warming up on my hot seat list actually and you know, potential going out this year, next year. So I'll be talking about that later on, but that's my take. Four Niners Patriots against the Buffaloes. Buffalo Bills 14 points. God damn. 46 and a half over. Under. [00:52:34] Speaker C: A lot of points. But I'm still taking Buffalo minus 14. When the Patriots go up against an average or a good team, they get beat by more than 14 points. A lot. You know, lost to the Cardinals 30 to 17. Lost by the Dolphins 34. 15 early in the year. Well, I mean even I guess average teams. Yes. Too Texans that got blown out by them earlier in the year. Bills are rolling right now. This game is in Buffalo. I don't know, there might be like 10ft. There might be 10ft of snow there for all. Yeah. So I like Buffalo. [00:53:12] Speaker B: Agree. Bills should win this one. They should win this One big. Their defense has struggled the last two weeks, but those are on the road. They get a bad offensive team against a rookie quarterback, Josh Allen, it's just padding the stats to that MVP that's coming his way. Bills win and Bills went big here. [00:53:29] Speaker A: Plus 14. [00:53:31] Speaker B: Plus 14. Buffalo. [00:53:33] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah, dope. I'm gonna agree with you guys. Got no reason to root for the Pats, but yeah, Buffalo, Jacksonville Jaguars. Man, this guy just does not get fired. Against the Las Vegas Raiders, Raiders are favored by 1/2 over under 40 and a half. [00:53:57] Speaker C: I don't know who you're talking about should get fired. Would it be the Jags head coach or the Raiders? [00:54:04] Speaker A: I'm, I'm talking about Peterson, but I, I don't think. I don't know what to make a Pierce anymore. Like, they've had some pretty, like, tough, you know, the team doesn't look like he, you know, they've quit. Like, like the Giants look like, you know, the Cowboys are playing, you know, for, you know, for, for McCarthy. I don't know, to make other Raiders. But to be fair though, they haven't really given a lot of weapons. They haven't given a quarterback. They haven't given anything else besides Bowers and a couple guys on defense. It's a mess over there. So how much can I blame it on, On. On Pierce? [00:54:38] Speaker C: Yeah, it's a good point. They had no quarterback going into the season. It was my biggest criticism as they enter the season as they signed Carter Michue as being your option. Now, is it. Is it O'Connell starting this game? [00:54:48] Speaker B: Aaron expected to play? [00:54:50] Speaker C: Yes, expected to play. I mean, week to week. I don't know who's playing quarterback for the Raiders. This is why I love the Jags. We talk a lot about Rookie of the year. It was always Jaden Daniels, the quarterbacks. To be honest with you, the two rookie of the years probably should be in this game. And it's Brian Thomas out of LSU for the Jags. Who out of all the receivers drafted this year. A lot of hype with neighbors. My guy, Roma Dunze. But Brian Thomas has probably been the. Been the best wide receiver pick in this draft. Two touchdown catches last week. Mac Jones finding him, finding the target. Mac Jones had a little swagger in that game. I know they lost last week to the Jets. On the other side for the Raiders, Bowers, you know, bleeding as and he's topping the tight ends for receptions. Had catching some stride lately. But I like Mac Jones. If we're going to choose the quarterbacks out of the two options here, I'll take the Jags. [00:55:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, Jags getting points here. I mean, do the Raiders really want to win? I mean, do they really. They're locked in right now as a two spot in the draft and there's like three, four other teams with three wins. I think the Jags might have three wins too. I'm not really sure on that. [00:55:58] Speaker C: They do. It's 3:11 Jags versus the Raiders win. [00:56:01] Speaker B: Then the Jags get a higher draft pick. So does anybody really want to win this football game? I'm going to quote Rome here. It's a stay away game for me. It's a stay away game. I don't like either side. In fact, I don't think this will be on my Sunday ticket viewing guide. [00:56:19] Speaker A: Yeah, I. I really appreciate you guys bracing the stay away. I adopted it from Bill Simmons because he knows when it's an ugly game and it's. I truly believe there's ugly games you just want to bet on. It's just too risky or too whatever. [00:56:31] Speaker C: Listen, we're doing a podcast here. You take a side. All right? Just stay away. Just going in the middle, you know, get out of here. Take a side. [00:56:38] Speaker A: Giving betting advice, though, you know, it's okay. [00:56:41] Speaker C: Betting. Betting advice. [00:56:42] Speaker A: Don't put your money in this. [00:56:44] Speaker C: I'm telling you. [00:56:45] Speaker B: Put your money. I. I would take the Jags. Brian Thomas. I agree. I. He'll have a good game, but yeah, no incentive for either team really to win here. [00:56:57] Speaker A: Who's the quarterback for the Jacks this week? [00:57:01] Speaker C: Jones. I told you. [00:57:02] Speaker A: That's right. [00:57:02] Speaker C: They got the quarterback edge. Max Jones had some swagger last week. I like what I saw. [00:57:06] Speaker A: Did he. He has not looked good at all. And I can't believe I actually liked him on the paths. Like. Was like Belichick that great with. I don't know what to think anymore. [00:57:16] Speaker C: You thought he was on the Pats like three weeks ago still. [00:57:19] Speaker A: I got his name mixed up. [00:57:22] Speaker C: Hey, the biggest over under of this game is. Aaron says it's. He's not gonna pop up in his DirecTV, but Aaron's behind the Times Sunday tickets on YouTube TV now. Yeah, but is it over? Is it over under like four and a half that this game's on the Red zone channel? [00:57:38] Speaker A: Oh, I don't. I don't know. Yeah, maybe once. Let's go over under. Like. [00:57:44] Speaker B: What do you think it is on the red zone. [00:57:47] Speaker C: Red Zone channel? Four and a half. [00:57:49] Speaker A: Three. Is it above three or. Or below three? [00:57:52] Speaker B: It'll be about three. [00:57:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, it's above three. I obviously am joking, but you only got four, four games here, so they'll have to put it on in the window. [00:58:02] Speaker B: Look at you. You know you're gonna have an ugly one with the Bills and Patriots. I mean, say what you want, the Jaguars, Raiders. I mean, I, I will, I will have it on it. It's gonna be a close game. It'll be competitive game. [00:58:11] Speaker A: I'm not watching that. [00:58:12] Speaker B: But it'll be on my multi view. [00:58:15] Speaker C: Yeah, you know what? Just because you're speaking so down on it, Rome, I'm gonna watch that entire game. [00:58:19] Speaker A: All right, you should actually. [00:58:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, Matt Jones might be most famous for in Vegas. Remember that lateral that got thrown back where he missed the tackle and he got returned for a touchdown? If you remember that play. [00:58:33] Speaker A: I don't remember that. [00:58:34] Speaker B: Mac Jones getting ran over by Chandler Jones, who's in a mental institution by the way. So there you go. [00:58:41] Speaker A: See, I don't know if we're supposed to be cracking jokes on that or not. [00:58:47] Speaker C: There was no jokes, Aaron. Aaron was just stating facts. [00:58:50] Speaker A: Fair. Tampa Bay Bucks 4 1/2 against the Dallas Cowboys 48 1/2 over under. I'm comfortably taking the over on this one, but I'm going to lean the Bucks as well. [00:59:04] Speaker C: I'm comfortably taking the Bucks minus four. I think the Bucs are a far better team. I feel like I'm walking into a trap here at this point because I. That feels like just easy money that the Buccaneers should be blowing out the Cowboys, but I'm still going to ride with it. Buccaneers minus four. [00:59:18] Speaker A: I don't think it should be a blowout. Cowboys are playing really good right now. [00:59:22] Speaker B: I'm going to go with Jason. Man, it looks like easy money and I think it is easy money. I like Tampa Bay here to cover the fourth. They'll keep rolling, rolling, rolling. Maybe wrap up the division with a win in the Falcons loss against the Giants. [00:59:35] Speaker A: Rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling. Who sings that song? [00:59:39] Speaker C: Limp Bizkit. [00:59:41] Speaker A: Son of a. All right. [00:59:45] Speaker C: It was the undertaker. It was the undertaker's wrestling entrance music at WrestleMania 19. Yeah, man, oh man. When he was. When he was the American badass undertaker man. [00:59:53] Speaker A: Rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling. Man, that's like middle school. All right, Monday Night Football. The Saints against Aaron Screen Bay packers another heavily favored this week. 14 and a half, 42 and a half over under. [01:00:17] Speaker C: What's the weather like in Green Bay right now, Aaron? [01:00:20] Speaker A: It's getting cold. [01:00:22] Speaker B: Cold. [01:00:23] Speaker A: It's getting cold. [01:00:23] Speaker B: Around 20 degrees in the 20s, that game. Right. [01:00:26] Speaker A: One of my business partners is about like 20 minutes away from there. And wait, we were talking the other day, I was saying how it's freezing in San Francisco. It's like it's a chilly high 40s up here. And I think he was saying it's. It was in the 20s over there. [01:00:44] Speaker C: Well, it's 29 degrees right now, and it's snowing, so I would say get. It is freezing. I don't see that snow happening on Sunday, though. And it'll be around the same 28 degrees. It's doable. Saints, a dome team going up north. Night game on Monday night. A lot of points. [01:01:06] Speaker A: A lot. A lot of too much. [01:01:09] Speaker C: That's what it feels like. It's the only reason I'm taking my time with this one. [01:01:12] Speaker A: Rome, you know, the record above 10 is not good. [01:01:19] Speaker C: Well, Alvin Kamara out, right? Potentially out for the season. [01:01:26] Speaker B: He's out. [01:01:27] Speaker A: That's all I know. [01:01:28] Speaker B: Car is out for the season. [01:01:30] Speaker C: Yeah. I'll take the packers. Give me the -14 and a half. [01:01:34] Speaker B: Wow. [01:01:36] Speaker A: All right. [01:01:38] Speaker B: I like it. I like it. Give me the Packers -14 and a half as well. To gonna be cold. You know, these dome teams, as soon as they get down, they throw in the towel. They want to get on the sidelines and get. Get up next to those heaters. And that's what the packers are on right now, a heater. They're gonna blow the Saints out on Monday night. [01:01:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I got packs. I don't know if I got that. The spread's really high. I'm gonna go. I'm leaning on the under the 42 and a half since it be really cold. 24 to 18. Packers. That's a prediction. [01:02:18] Speaker B: I. I see the packers scoring at least 35. Rookie quarterback in Lambo coming from Oklahoma and South Carolina, he's not ready for the cold. No way it gets cold. [01:02:36] Speaker A: All right. Is that all the games. [01:02:40] Speaker C: At the professional level? Yes. [01:02:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Great. Cool. I'm excited. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back, we'll talk a little college football and the college football playoffs. All right, Time for a little college football playoff talk. We got our first games, round one this weekend, starting off on Friday, which is tomorrow, which by the time you guys hear it, will be that afternoon. Since recording the date of the night before, Indiana at Nordre Dame is Nordic hosting it. Like everyone's hosting it, right? Yeah. [01:03:23] Speaker C: In South Bend, there was no. And there was snow on the ground in South Bend. [01:03:29] Speaker A: I love it. Notre dame's favored by seven points. The over under 52 points. And then we got three games on Saturday. Penn State, Clemson at Texas and Tennessee at Ohio State. I might have just like embedded myself a little too much on sports radio for the past week. I've kind of got like lost on everything, heard a lot of upset takes, who's hot, who's not curious to hear what your guys take on. Let's start with this game though. Friday night, Indiana at Norteam. An interesting take that I've heard this past week was that if Indiana would have suffered the same loss that Notre Dame did against who was it, Northern Illinois. Yeah. They'd be out of the playoff and a lot of people were hoping that Notre Dame would be out of the playoff for the same loss, but here they are higher than ever and they're hosting a game. [01:04:36] Speaker C: Yeah, there's been a lot of. Is the only thing that sticks to Notre Dame's. Yeah, I mean it's the only thing that anyone knows about Notre Dame this season is they lost to Northern Illinois. Oh yeah, they don't talk about them. Hey, they beat, they beat a bunch of ACC guys that, you know, ranked Louisville team at the time, 3124, army and Navy. Everyone usually, you know, oh, it's just army and Navy. Both of those teams at a certain point were undefeated like 7 and oh, army won their conference in the game. You know, they normally would play a Florida State team. Okay, we'll put that to the side this year. Not Notre Dame's fault. You know, beat usc, beat Virginia, you know, they beat conference, you know, big time conference people as well and then. But you know, them played their cupcakes here and there. So the only thing anyone remembers about Notre Dame's resume is a, the Northern Illinois game and they forget about them being Texas A and M to really start this football season. And you know, that game was fairly close but they beat them 23 13. So Indiana, Aaron and I like them throughout the year, but the two hardest games that they have was against a 7 and 5 Michigan team and, and Ohio State. They barely beat Michigan 20 to 15 and then, you know, got beat pretty bad versus Ohio State but still found their way into the tournament. Not dismissing what Indiana did. Like most of the national media and everyone wants to kick people out, you know, for not having a hard enough schedule. And we've talked enough about the SEC in this program because the sec, they're just trying to cook up this narrative that all, you know, everyone's wreck, you know, schedule is so hard this and that. When it comes to Notre Dame. Notre Dame has pretty much blown most of the teams out. They've played or beat them significantly. Notre dame as at -7. They've beaten every team they've played this year by more than seven. The closest they, you know, game that really was happened was the loss to Northern Illinois. Since that game though, they found what they want to do with Riley Leonard, his first year at the Notre Dame program, coming over for Duke. I like Notre Dame in this game. They're going to have the three headed monster at running back. They're going to put a lot of yards on the ground on Indiana. I comfortably. Notre Dame minus seven in this game. [01:06:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean there's been a lot of chatter about this being upset Indiana coming in here. Jason said it best. We've liked Indiana. They've taken average to below average teams and taken them to the woodshed and beat them bad. They played two decent teams really. In Michigan, a struggle. Ohio State pitted on them and now you've got Notre Dame. Yeah. Notre Dame lost early in the year. They get to Northern Illinois. Northern Illinois played their greatest game of the season. They played great. Notre Dame played bad. Notre Dame's been battle tested. Beat a Louisville team. That's tough. Went to Georgia Tech, beat them. Beat the rocks off of Navy and Army. I like Notre Dame here to cover. I like him to win Indiana. I think first half would be close. Notre Dame's defense in that run game will be the difference in the second half. Even Riley Leonard, he can get that run game going too. And the Irish find a way to win and they'll cover the seven. I like Notre Dame minus seven. [01:07:50] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:50] Speaker B: Final scoring, I'll say 34, 20 Notre Dame. [01:07:59] Speaker A: She's like that. [01:08:04] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm gonna go 31, 20. Notre Dame. [01:08:09] Speaker A: Jesus. [01:08:12] Speaker C: Aaron brought up the game that I didn't bring up was Georgia Tech. [01:08:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:08:15] Speaker C: So George, Georgia Tech almost knocked almost Georgia out of this whole thing. And Notre Dame beat them pretty handily early in this year. 31 13. So there's a lot of support for Notre Dame's resume. This will be a good test for them. I like the in the interstate matchup here within Indiana. [01:08:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:08:36] Speaker C: Should be a good game to kick off the playoff. It'll be a really electric atmosphere. Night game in South Bend. [01:08:42] Speaker A: Yeah. I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I did like Notre Dame. Despite that big loss. I got them in my top four. That's my opinion. Just the way they've been playing. I think it'll be closer Though I don't got them covering at all. The 52 points is kind of enticing though. But it's gonna be really cold. I heard there's snow maybe. [01:09:03] Speaker C: Yeah, there's been snow. I don't know if it'll be snowing in that game. [01:09:08] Speaker B: It's gonna be cold. [01:09:09] Speaker A: I mean It'll be like 20 degrees again. [01:09:11] Speaker B: I know there was a story that came out with all these basically with Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame about they don't play football this late, so the field usually just leave it non maintained and it freezes. [01:09:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:09:24] Speaker B: So they've had to, you know, it's different. [01:09:27] Speaker A: It's different. [01:09:27] Speaker B: Yeah. There's a lot of money and effort went into basically keeping these fields in good condition and shape for these playoff games. I think Notre Dame now plays on artificial grass, Jason. They used to have real turf there, but now it's artificial, right? [01:09:44] Speaker C: I believe you're correct. [01:09:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Because remember Notre Dame back in the day would leave the grass a little longer from when USC came into town to kind of slow down that speed advantage that the Trojans had. So I think that got eliminated a few years back when they went to artificial. [01:09:58] Speaker C: So looking at the forecast right now, it is snowing in South Bend right now and it is supposed to snow pretty much all morning and then will ease up before the game starts. [01:10:14] Speaker A: Housing Odaim's run defense. [01:10:16] Speaker C: Good run defense is good. And they have an all American at safety with Xavier Watts. This is, this is a different Notre Dame team that was built to play some of the best teams in college football. The their biggest liability honestly on offensively is going to be the passing game. [01:10:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:10:35] Speaker C: They're going to rely on the run game even with the quarterback With Riley Leonard, it's going to be what they do between Jeremiah Love making big plays, Leonard at quarterback and then their backup running back as well. That gets, you know, some spot touches throughout the game as well too. So that it'll be with it being cold. Run game generally is what you're going to favor to begin with. And then having timely passes off of play action for Riley Leonard to hit some wide open receivers. [01:11:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm going to say for Indiana, the key is can they hold off the Notre Dame pass rush. Al golden, he's going to come up with some exotic blitzes. That's what he does. Notre Dame's really, really good on defense. They can stop the run with their front four and then they can bring different pressure looks. For Indiana, they weren't able to stop Ohio State Ohio State had a ton of sacks. The quarterback was rushing throws. If Indiana can maintain and that pocket hold up and the quarterback's got time, then Indiana is going to be in this game. If they fall behind early and it's just pass, pass, pass, it's going to be a long day for Indiana. So that's going to be the key first half. I think it's going to be close and then Notre Dame's just, you know, better players in the run game and defense will eventually take over. And that's where I see Notre Dame pulling away in the second half of this game. [01:11:51] Speaker A: I'm bleeding Notre Dame, final score. I'm going to take the under on the 53. Since it's going to be so frigid cold. I think it's going to be more of a R running attack on both sides. I do like the running game on Indiana a little bit more, but I think it's be Notre Dame 24, 21. Let's go to Saturday's games. SMU at Penn State. Penn State's eight and a half point favorites over under 54 points. I'm not really sure what to make of this game actually, because I don't know how good SMU is. You know, it's the same with Indiana. We have like these new schools here that had a great year, turning things around. They're starting new traditions. And Penn State, honestly, this might be like the best. Same thing with Nordame, in my opinion. It might be the best looking Penn State team that they've had in a while. They actually have like a little bit of toughness. They had a loss early in the season, but they really turned around and I don't know, I, I really like the vibes coming off the last few wins. [01:12:54] Speaker C: And the big question here is going to be Penn State under James Franklin has never won the big game. [01:13:01] Speaker A: No. [01:13:02] Speaker C: Their two losses this year was at Ohio versus Ohio State. They had them at home, put up the loss there. Then they go to the Big Ten title game. It didn't feel like a Big Ten title game. It was tons of offense that felt like the Pac12 title game. But yeah, they lost to Oregon. So other, you know, you could do the same thing with Penn State and started arguing some of their wins too and who they beat because the only ranked team at the time that they played was Illinois early in the season who didn't end up to be very good either. So you could pick holes in everyone's resume, but it's going to be what can you do in the big game. I like Penn State to win this game, but I do not like them to cover. Eight and a half is a pretty big spread. I would take SMU plus eight and a half. [01:13:50] Speaker B: Yeah, I've gone back and forth in this game. I mean smu, you know, SMU lost two games this year. BYU by three points, Clemson by three points. My concern is for smu. You're traveling to Penn State. It's going to be cold, real cold. Penn State's a really, really good defensive team. By far the best defensive team SMU's played. And SMU is more of a finesse team. Finesse typically doesn't work out in cold. Physical team. Penn State, they can run. Rome, you said it best. This is the best Penn State team they've had under James Franklin despite not being able to win the big game against Ohio State. Yeah, they put up points against Oregon. That was indoors. This is out. It's cold. Penn State's got a tight end that's an NFL ready prospect. I think they're going to get him involved in the game. And SMU worries me. Clemson had them down what, 20 points early in that game. They rallied back. They won't be able to rally back. They're here. I like Penn State to win. I would lean towards them covering the eight and a half too. But for sure, if you're playing moneyline parlays, you would definitely parlay Penn State and Notre Dame and along with a couple of these other playoff games. But yeah, I like Penn State over smu. [01:15:06] Speaker A: Yeah, you can't really take the money line straight up on this one. I'm currently like a potential upset on this one SMU just because they're offensive tack. I'm really curious if Penn State can really offset that. I know they're gonna be at home. It's gonna be different. What, what the conditions, all that stuff. It's just SMU is just such an unknown and I'm gonna give him like a little bit of benefit down this one. I feel like we're gonna see at least a couple upsets in this and in this playoff and I think this is might be the best opportunity to see that. Maybe Tennessee or Ohio State, that. I'm also contemplating that one. But I'm leaning Penn State though. And I agree with you, Aaron. I think this would be a good parlay for that tough game. Man, this would be so weird. It's so weird. 12 teams in the playoffs. This is great. That's exciting. Do you wish we had the BCS back? No, we, we, we. We'd have Georgia and Oregon playing in the championship game. What a mess that would be. [01:16:15] Speaker B: And who knows it might still end up being that. You never know. [01:16:20] Speaker A: Clemson plays Texas that afternoon. Tax favor by 12 points. 51 and a half over under. Who you guys got? Texas haters. Who you guys got? [01:16:39] Speaker C: Yeah. As much as I want to continue to clown roam about Texas, this might be the biggest blowout of the first round games for me. You look at like opponents in this one even though it was a long time ago. Clemson, Georgia to start the year. Georgia blows Clemson out. They lost also to another SEC team in South Carolina late in the year although it was close. [01:17:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:17:04] Speaker C: Blew the big lead against SMU in the ACC championship game luckily to get away with the win. Texas, while they've played the cupcake schedule of the SEC working they were competitive with Georgia and did have a tougher run. They do have more talent. This is a, this is not the Clemson team from five years ago that was winning national titles and going up against Alabama. I think Texas blows out Clemson in this one. Give me Texas minus 12. [01:17:34] Speaker B: Yeah, it's critical. If I'd been in Texas all season. I like a minus 12 here too. Clemson just doesn't have the players to play with Texas here. It's a home game. Weather's not going to be an issue. Going to be in the 50s. High 50s, low 60s. Sunshine. Feeling great. Texas skill wise is better on the perimeter than Clemson. Clemson doesn't have enough offensive weapons to keep up in this one. I'd be shocked if Clemson wins this game. I'll be rooting for him but Texas minus 12 blowout 100 agree with what Jason said. This should be the easiest of all picks games this weekend. [01:18:15] Speaker A: I'm leaning on the over on the 511 1/2. I think it might be a shootout. There's some concerns for the Texas defense just a little bit. Just from what's happened in the late later half of the season ers I'm not really confident. He hasn't looked the same since he heard his shoulder or bleak or whatever the hell it was. I think Manny will see some time if yours is all a good so I'm not really sure what what to expect. That's why I think like the 12 might be a little too high but I think it'll be shoot. I think it'll be over. Manning gets some, maybe gets a touchdown or two with his legs and maybe another option you know in the air but I think it'll be a little bit Closer. I'm leaning towards like a 8 to 25 type of game. Another close one might be a good parlay, though. I'm all confident about Texas now having like so much doubt. Hilarious. [01:19:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I know what happened in this one. Aaron and I are just saying, hey, this is the game. You steamroll him, you're like, ah, it's gonna be close. [01:19:19] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. You know what I think? [01:19:21] Speaker B: I think Rome doesn't want to come out and say, Texas gonna blow him out and then the blues and then he's gonna have to kiss our ass and say, yeah, you guys are right all year. So now he's gonna be like, oh, I'm scared. And then when they lose and be like, oh, I told you guys, I had this feeling. I just had this vibe. I had this vibe. That's the word of the day vibe. [01:19:40] Speaker A: You'Re full of. You know, if there's a team that doesn't belong in the playoffs, though, I will say Clemson is it. I, I like who made it to the playoffs. But like, out of all the teams, they don't belong. If there was a team that didn't belong, it's them. [01:19:54] Speaker C: It's agree. It's agreement there. But for my argument, you do you have these conferences for a reason. Conference champion gets in, so they did the way they need to do it. [01:20:03] Speaker A: I don't like it anymore. Last game for this weekend at least for the playoff. Tennessee against Ohio State. Ohio State Fair by seven and a half over under 46. Lots of rumors going around where if Ryan Day doesn't take the Buckeyes all the way to the Natty, he is out. Rivers are saying he doesn't want to stay because it's a toxic of a situation in that place. He has kids, other opportunities to go somewhere else that's a little more reasonable, blah, blah, blah. Tough loss against Michigan, otherwise they've had some pretty big wins this year. Pretty tough schedule. Tennessee, though. What do you guys think about Tennessee? [01:20:54] Speaker C: Well, I can tell you in this game, there's two narratives that come out of this game for me. Ohio State loses. It's all about Ryan Day. Doesn't win the big game. Can't. Can't beat Michigan now. Can't win the big game here. Favored by a ton in this game at seven and a half. Yeah, but the other thing for me is all the SEC apologists on how hard their schedule is and everything. Your number three ranked team, that's 10 wins that went six and two in your conference is a seven and a half point dog to Ohio State in this game. So to me, if Tennessee doesn't win, I don't want to hear the SEC talking about how Bama should got in and all this stuff that you can't even win the first round playoff game against the third place team in the Big Ten with Ohio State. So there's two narratives that come out of this game for me. So if the SEC is going to prove their worth, at least they can do for Tennessee is cover the seven and a half which is what I'm going to was I'm going to pick them right now is plus seven and a half. But Tennessee's got some proven to do from what the sec. Are they as good as everyone's saying? Are we just. Are they going to put a bunch of two, three loss teams at all time and just keep claiming how hard their conference is every year? [01:22:01] Speaker A: Valid argument. Good point. Jason. God dang killed it. [01:22:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean Jason, he's. He, he wrote that one down before the show started. [01:22:08] Speaker A: He came prepared for this segment. Man, he is on fire. Fire. [01:22:11] Speaker B: He's. You know, him and Danny Canel might want to touch base because they both hate on the SEC pretty bad on this show. [01:22:18] Speaker A: They are sounding alike right now. It's. It's wild and you know what? And, and your Blackhawks jersey when I. [01:22:23] Speaker B: Was at the gym, black socks mix. Look at that right there. Blackhawks. [01:22:26] Speaker A: Whatever, man. Yeah, the Blackhawks. The black. Yeah, Blackhawks. Hey, I did not say anything else. All right, chill. You guys need to chill. [01:22:38] Speaker B: Let's get back on Tennessee, Ohio State before we get carried away here. Yeah, I mean Jason. [01:22:47] Speaker A: Avatars his avatar hour as amateur hour. [01:22:51] Speaker C: I don't know what you mean. I, I gave the professional take of a lifetime right here. [01:22:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I mean Jason, Jason, Jason did his homework for sure. [01:22:59] Speaker A: I mean he really did his homework. Yeah. [01:23:01] Speaker B: Tennessee plus seven and a half is a play for me here too. Yeah, I didn't look at it like hey, who's better, conference, SEC or big? Tennessee, I think is a good team. They're going to come out. That's, that's a lot of points here. I mean given Ohio State where they're at, there's a lot of pressure on them. For me it comes down to Ohio State. How much trust is Chip Kelly and Ryan Day having Will Howard. Are they going to let Will Howard throw the ball? Are they going to be scared and he's going to throw interceptions because the games in which they weren't able to run the ball against really, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State, too. Will Howard struggled in those games. So we know what Tennessee is going to do. They got the number one run defense in the sec. I believe they can stop the run. Their quarterback is young. Is he going to be able to go in there to the shoe and get it done? I like Tennessee. Seven and a half. If there's an upset this weekend, it's Tennessee over Ohio State. [01:23:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm concerned about the quarterback play from Ohio State. That's the biggest thing. I think Tennessee on their defensive side, they're going to bring the pressure, man. They've done it all year long. They've kind of surprised us all year long. Right. This is what they do. Seven and a half is kind of disrespectful. I think they're going to be fueled up. Jason, great point though. They got to show up for the sec. This would be close, man. Seven and a half. I'll definitely take that. I'm leaning on this is this and potential SMU against Penn State. These are my potential upset bids of the week. [01:24:32] Speaker B: But yeah, I mean to touch Tennessee has to be careful, man, because I mean Will Howard has struggled. But if you play one on one coverage against those wide receivers, he'll get it. These are the best wide receivers maybe in the country that Ohio State has. They don't have the great quarterback play. But if you just go like, hey, we're gonna, we're gonna play one on one mono to mono. The freshman Smith that they have out there, you're. You're going to be in for a long day. [01:24:55] Speaker A: Yeah, he finally turned 18 I think. [01:24:57] Speaker B: Yeah, those guys can ball on the outside for Ohio State. So they gotta play smart. [01:25:01] Speaker A: They got smart despite quarterback play. Honestly like they're still playing 50, 50 balls like at a high cap rate. Right? So that's valid, man. [01:25:12] Speaker C: Ryan Day and Chip Kelly need to turn these guys loose though because they were playing like, you know that 1920s Ohio State offense versus Michigan. Most default when you have all these know, skill players everywhere and we're trying to like ground and pound and, and they might as well been running the wing T offense so they're not be able to do that against Tennessee. [01:25:32] Speaker A: That's so crazy, man. You, you were watching these games. You can see these coaches getting their own mindset and, and, and they totally mind themselves. They totally went against the game plan. I was kind of surprised about that from, from Trip Kelly in that Michigan game. They didn't put the ball in their best playmaker's hands so. [01:25:49] Speaker B: Well, again they have confidence. Will Howard, he Almost threw a pick six. That was terrible. You remember Michigan intercepted it, got tackled at the three. They ran in two plays later for a touchdown. He threw a pick six against Penn State. Will Howard, he's the key. If Will Howard falls out, Ohio State's gonna roll. [01:26:07] Speaker A: If. Yeah. [01:26:08] Speaker B: Chip Kelly and them don't have any confidence. I don't know who the backup quarterback is. They. They went out, spent the nil money on this guy. So. I mean, Ryan Day, Chip Kelly, their faith might be in Will Howard's hands if they've got a job at the end of the season. [01:26:23] Speaker A: Wow, that's hilarious. All right, that's the playoffs. Any other takes on any other bowl games coming up? Anything else this weekend? To have you guys caught the bowl games this past week? [01:26:36] Speaker C: I'm gonna be honest. I have not caught up with any of these yet. Yeah, I have no boat, no games yet. [01:26:41] Speaker B: I saw a little bit of Cal unlv. I know Jason's gonna be at the Holiday bowl, so he'll break that. He'll be able to break down. [01:26:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:26:49] Speaker B: On Monday. [01:26:52] Speaker A: Wait, this Monday? [01:26:54] Speaker C: Nah, the next Monday. It's the 20th. [01:26:55] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. [01:26:58] Speaker C: Looking forward to that. Looking forward to the Pop Tart Bowl. You know, that's a nice little show. They got their new trophy this year at the Pop Tart Bowl. [01:27:04] Speaker A: That's what it's called. [01:27:05] Speaker B: It's. Yeah, the Holiday. [01:27:07] Speaker C: No, no, no, no, no. Different. [01:27:08] Speaker B: Different. One different bowl, man. [01:27:10] Speaker A: Cheetos bowl with Croc. [01:27:13] Speaker C: The Pop Dart bowl. D. The. The trophy is a live, functioning toaster that you can do the Pop Tarts in. [01:27:20] Speaker A: Hold on, hold on. Don't get me excited here. I'm looking, man. [01:27:23] Speaker B: Looks great. I. I put. I put an order in for one for me. [01:27:27] Speaker A: Do you guys like Pop Tarts? [01:27:29] Speaker B: Love Pop Tarts. [01:27:30] Speaker C: Who doesn't like Pop Tarts? [01:27:31] Speaker B: Love Pop Tarts. [01:27:32] Speaker A: So I haven't bought a Pop Tart a long time. I've been buying, like, the Trader Joe's ones because it's, like, you know, healthy or whatever they got for my daughter. But I do miss. [01:27:41] Speaker C: Tell yourself it's healthier, okay? [01:27:44] Speaker A: I made it from scratch. I made my daughter, like, fresh, you know, pastries, like a Pop Tart. But I do miss. It was, like, a brown sugar one, man. It wasn't too sweet. I can't remember what it was. If I can find them again. It tasted great with coffee, brown sugar. I don't know. Besides strawberry, I haven't had. I haven't been able to have strawberry in a long time. Like it's always, like, too intense now. Overload. [01:28:10] Speaker B: Now, you guys, you guys toast your Pop Tarts, right? You don't need them cold. You like them in the toaster. [01:28:14] Speaker A: I prefer toasted. [01:28:15] Speaker C: I'll do it either way. Give me, give me, give me the S'mores Pop Tart doesn't need to be toasted. [01:28:20] Speaker A: The S'mores Pop Tart. [01:28:21] Speaker B: I like it, man. [01:28:24] Speaker C: Toaster's the toast of the preference. I'll give it to you, but if you, if I'm gonna go to the gas station, just pick up a S'mores Pop Tart, you know, it's good. [01:28:31] Speaker A: My daughter demanded that. I, I, I don't toast the Pop Tartar. I'm like, I'm not, you're not eating, you know, cold Pop Tarts here. So I'll toast a little bit. And so now she's like coming around to having a toast Pop Tart. She likes it. It's all warm. So toasty. Awesome, man. That's it. We'll be back on Monday then after Monday Night Football, day before Christmas Eve. We're on the same schedule throughout the holidays, barring any, anything crazy. Right. Next Monday. [01:29:06] Speaker C: Little F1 news this week, though. Oh, yeah, little F1 news. So Sergio Perez, Checo Perez, we talked about it out at Red Bull. And Liam Lawson, who was brought in to replace Daniel Ricardo on the V Carb team, which is kind of the junior Red Bull F1 team, gets the nod over Yuki Sonoda, who's been in F1 for a few years, driving for the V Carve team. So you'll have Liam Lawson paired with Max Versappen in Red Bull. And then Yuki Sonoda will stay with the V Carb. The Visa. The V Carb stand for the Visa cash app. Racing bulls, if you, if you wanted to know. Room. And then they're going to bring up one of the junior Red Bull drivers from Formula 3 up that haven't talked about. So interesting Perry pairing Sergio Perez. A lot of flowers thrown his way from Max Verstappen helped him win the first title. Kind of blocked my guy, Lewis Hamilton at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, one of the most controversial Grand Prix at all time. But early in the race really helped Lewis up to help Max get closer and within striking distance. But Sergio really fell off in a car that wasn't the greatest, but had a giant points golf between the two of them. So probably his F1 career is over and he's going to be a kind of brand ambassador for Red Bull going forward. So the Drivers lineup for 2025 Formula One is set now. [01:30:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I saw a graphic on on ig. Was it today or yesterday? [01:30:38] Speaker C: Probably yesterday. And that announced everything. [01:30:40] Speaker A: Yeah, it's nice. Real quick though. Ever since I've been to the Sharks game, I've been watching hockey every night. And these poor son of a man, these guys score three, four goals every night and then they lose in the third period with four. You know, like it's always like less than five minutes left, the opposing team scores another goal. They were down 3, 2 right now, had a chance to tie it and then they lose the game. Four, two. I don't know how it is for other teams, but I've never seen a team lose this many close games. It's pretty crazy. How exciting but interesting. I'm just starting to get in the hockey clip right now. [01:31:21] Speaker C: Exciting recently, but I will say the Sharks have the worst goal differential in the NHL right now. So wasn't a ton of close games early in the season. Sarkis. But you mentioned my Blackhawks hat. Chicago. Chicago has the worst teams in all of pro sports. The Blackhawks though, fire their coach a few weeks ago. [01:31:38] Speaker A: They had a big win the other day. [01:31:40] Speaker C: They had the longest winning streak in the Western Conference. They've won three whole games in a row. And so now they have put themselves. [01:31:49] Speaker A: In the Western Conference just ahead of. [01:31:51] Speaker C: The Nashville Predators and no longer our last in the Western Conference. But they're one game behind your San Jose Shark still. [01:31:56] Speaker A: So yeah. Yeah, that's all I got. Cole. Sorts from the sofa. Catch us on Ignition X. We're still active, pretty active on X and IG in the comments section. Find us as we're talking on other people and highlights and posting stuff and hopefully we'll get some new reels up shortly. We'll be here throughout the holidays, so happy holidays.
