[00:00:03] Speaker A: What's up everybody? It's been a while. Sources from the sofa Coming back from sabbatical, taking a long recovery after the Super Bowl. I just needed to do it.
But I am kicking things off again because we got a lot of things to do to catch up on the NBA NHL baseball's down session. I got the one and only Sniper west with me. We're going to talk a little bit about everything and I'm pretty sure he got like some picks for you in the coming days or so. We're recording mid afternoon on Wednesday, April 22. It is kind of overcast here in the Bay Area. I'm not sure how it is in Vegas, but I'm pretty sure it's lovely.
But last night though. So I've been watching basketball for like the last month or so and then especially the playoffs. NBA playoff basketball is just so much better than the regular season. The regular season is so trash, especially in the past decade or so and I'm a big basketball guy but I've been watching less and less and less. But let me tell you man, I was worried about my Lakers without Luka, without AR and LeBron just turning back the clock. Didn't have a great game shooting wise last night. 8 for 20 something but he just commanded. And he had two sick fucking dunks down the stretch.
One where he just beat all the defense right down the middle for a two hander. Then he had a nice little double reverse pump dunk which have we ever seen a 41 year old do that? I don't think so, but I'm really excited. I could not believe that we're actually up 20 against the Rockets. So I do want to start there because that's a big surprise to me because talent wise Rockets win that. I still think very highly of KD but one thing I did not anticipate was well maybe I did, I was hoping for it but our coach man just got this Lakers team playing like out of their minds. They're gelling really well. Marcus Smart's making great plays reading LeBron's like non facial cues. That's been making memes all around the social medias and who'd have thought man, Lakers up 20 even with KD out the gate. Game 1 but he was back yesterday, had a decent game stat wise but was just wrapped up in the second half getting double team, getting closed down the lanes and everyone just playing isoball. But Wes, I know you've been watching a lot of basketball.
We can talk about that game then we'll kind of touch on every other series how it is now since we're already two games in games three start or probably the rest of the games to no games 3 start tonight as well. So what, what, what do you think?
[00:02:44] Speaker B: Well, I'll tell you. Yeah, LeBron, he is turning back the clock, that is for sure. Yeah, he's looked fantastic. So as it relates to the Lakers, they had four players in double digits as far as points go. Hachimura LeBron at 28, Canard at 23, Marcus Smart had 25. They shot 46% from three point range, which is, it's really good. And if you remember, yeah, in game one they shot 52%. Luke Canard, he was five for five from downtown in game one.
So they've just been on fire. And I'm gonna be honest, I was actually on the Rockets. I laid the four and a half
[00:03:19] Speaker C: with the Rockets in game two and
[00:03:20] Speaker B: I was definitely wrong.
[00:03:21] Speaker C: We lost outright. I just was of the feeling that the Lakers would regress because there's no
[00:03:26] Speaker B: way they could shoot that wall again. And actually they came out and they almost that well again. You know, I was just completely wrong.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: So I will say as relates to the Rockets though, they just look terrible. I mean, you know, they had Singin Singoon had 20 points, Durant had 23. But just watching the game, they look lethargic. They look like they didn't have their legs under them.
[00:03:48] Speaker C: They look, they look tired, man. They just, I don't know, they just weren't cohesive on offense.
And so I took an L on that game and I will say that the Lakers, I mean, they're probably going to win this series. And I didn't think they were going to win the series, but they probably will. They're up two days to none. They're going to Houston. If you remember earlier in the year they played Houston on the back to back in Houston and they beat them both games. Granted that was with Luca and with AR and. But yeah, I think the Lakers have a great shot to win the series. We'll see what happens.
[00:04:16] Speaker B: You know, after that I Do you know Lucas status?
[00:04:18] Speaker C: Because I don't really know is he. Can he come back if the Lakers move on this round?
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Well, typically like his injury is typically like a two month, you know, downturn, like 10 weeks minimum. But he did go to Spain, got that plasma whatever, you know, baby cell thing going on. So it's a possibility he could return back in the second series. No word yet on ar but if he's able to come back. They're able to get AR as well in the second round. It kind of changes things because then they're kind of rolling if they able to make it out of this thing.
[00:04:53] Speaker B: Yeah, I did take the under or I gave out free plays on the
[00:04:57] Speaker C: under in both games and the under cashed in both games.
[00:05:00] Speaker B: I think it did.
I think both games went under the post total. I'm gonna.
[00:05:05] Speaker A: Yeah, it definitely did. Yeah, it barely hit 200 game one and. And it was well under 200 in game two.
[00:05:12] Speaker B: Yeah, 95 last night too. So, you know, the under is probably not a bad look. But, you know, for the rest of the games in the series, I'm sure Houston's gonna at least get one or two games. I would think. I doubt the Lakers sweep here, but
[00:05:24] Speaker A: the under, I would think they get Friday.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I would think so too. But the, the Rockets, they've just been under team all year long. I mean, if you just look at the statistics, like the over under statistics on the year.
Well, it's actually not. That is they went over 38 times and under 43 times.
But you know, they play okay defense and then they can just go through long spurts of not scoring. Imi Udoka is a really good head coach, but I just think that the problem with the Rockets.
[00:05:52] Speaker C: Here's the problem with the Rockets. They don't have a point guard. They don't have, you know, a true point guard ever since Van Vliet went down.
[00:05:58] Speaker A: But they've known that all season. They didn't do about it.
[00:06:01] Speaker B: And I don't know why they didn't try to go get Dennis Schroeder or something at the break or someone to help them with that point guard position. But that's really their problem is getting someone to distribute the basketball and, you know, and play fast for them.
[00:06:13] Speaker C: They just haven't been able to do it all season. So then their Achilles heel as it relates to the other games, if you
[00:06:19] Speaker B: just want to talk about those.
[00:06:21] Speaker C: Did not see.
[00:06:22] Speaker B: Yeah, did not see the Sixers beating the Celtics last night. I gave out a free play on the Celtics minus the 14 and a half. And that. That made me look not so good.
[00:06:31] Speaker A: I did not see that happening. That kind of caught me off guard. And then I did catch.
I did catch the first Pistons magic game. And Magic just look like they just wanted it more. They have those two playing games. They got pumped up and they're just vibing at the right time. I expect the Pistons to rally in that one.
[00:06:50] Speaker B: Yeah. But yeah, I didn't see that happening, you know, with the Sixers and the Celtics. The Blazers beat the Spurs. Kind of didn't see that happening either. Now I will say my premium play was on the blazers. It was plus, you know, I had them plus, I think it was 11 and a half.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: Oh, nice.
[00:07:05] Speaker B: So they did cover. I didn't, didn't really see them winning the game, but obviously Wimby went down. You know, I don't know if he's a quarter. Yeah, but it was, it looked like his jaw. It looked like literally he went down right on the job. And that's a long way to go down too. That guy, he's so tall. Like nobody's ever fallen from nine feet before face first.
So.
[00:07:23] Speaker A: Giraffe man. And like he has a little head too, so you gotta imagine like that that's a hit.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:28] Speaker A: Uppercut.
[00:07:29] Speaker B: Yeah, he took like a Mike Tyson shot to the jaw.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: He's in concussion protocol too. But I will say though, the spurs, they played well without him. I mean, he's been out quite a bit this year. And every time he goes out the spur, I, I would still lay the points with the spurs when he went out against whoever they were playing and they would still cover. Like they play well. They rally around the fact that he's not there. Whether or not he can go in the next game in Portland, we'll see.
[00:07:51] Speaker A: That's a 48 hour concussion protocol. I just feel like the spurs kind of caught off, got caught off guard with Wemby going down and they didn't know how to respond. Like it's a whole bunch of young guys. They don't have like a lot of veteran leadership on that team and, and they kind of look like that in the second half. Trail Blazers, granted, man, they got Jrue Holiday. This guy's a champion. This guy's led several teams deep in the playoffs and they just had that veteran pedigree. They might pump out like another win or two. But I still think the spurs will make it out. I don't think Wemby's going to be out there, you know, more than a game.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think so either. And Thiago Splitter, to his credit, ever since the Chauncey Phillips News.
[00:08:26] Speaker A: Phenomenal job.
[00:08:27] Speaker B: Yeah, phenomenal job of coaching this team and making the playoffs. And hey, they will even won a playoff game. So it looks like basketball is officially back in Portland in the Rose City as it relates to wins. So that was Tuesday night's game. So Wednesday night's game. So you guys are probably watching this pod, this podcast on a Thursday. I think that's when we're going to release this probably.
But Wednesday nights games, because we're recording this before Wednesday night's games.
[00:08:52] Speaker C: I do.
[00:08:52] Speaker B: I'll tell you what my plays are just because by, you know, Thursday it won't matter anyway.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: But let's hear them.
[00:08:59] Speaker B: But I have tonight I have the Suns and Thunder under 216 and a half points. We'll see if that wins. I just don't think the sun's gonna score. They scored 84 points in the first
[00:09:11] Speaker C: game and I don't think they're gonna score many, many more, to be honest with you.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Under 17 and a half points I can't touch. It's just way too many points. But I do like the under. I think it'll be a low scoring game again.
And the, the Pistons. So you think the Pistons are going to rally? I don't know, man. I'm not so sure.
[00:09:26] Speaker C: I kind of like the mat.
[00:09:27] Speaker B: I at least like the Magic. Plus the eight and a half.
[00:09:30] Speaker C: Eight and a half points is a lot of points for a Pistons team that looked very disorganized in game one.
[00:09:36] Speaker B: So not saying that the Magic will
[00:09:37] Speaker C: win again, but I'm definitely taking the eight and a half points and I think they cover at least. Maybe the Pistons win and don't cover.
[00:09:43] Speaker A: I think the thing with the Pistons too, they're a young team. Kate Cunningham, mvp like season, they just don't have the experience. But how many number one seeds have we seen just come in like a little lethargic with like a little longer break thinking that they can just manhandle the eight seed? I think it was a wake up call and I expect them to win big tonight.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: Okay. Looks like we're going against each other, but that's cool.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:10:06] Speaker C: The.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: Do you realize the Pistons franchise has lost 11 straight playoff games?
[00:10:12] Speaker A: I did not know that. Yeah, I did not know that.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: They. Well, last year, you know, they weren't all that great last year, but yeah, they just. They get to the playoffs and for some reason they can't win a game. But you know, they'll probably wins. And I, I think the Magic cover. You think the Pistons blow them out? Maybe. Who knows? We'll see what happens, people.
[00:10:28] Speaker A: Eight points.
[00:10:29] Speaker B: That's eight and a half points, man. Is a lot of points. It's crazy.
[00:10:32] Speaker A: I like that.
[00:10:34] Speaker B: Yeah, I can see that. Yeah, I'm definitely gonna take the points.
So moving on. So. Yeah, the other game, we talked about that. We talked about the Suns and the Thunder.
[00:10:45] Speaker A: I will say. I will say real quick.
Yeah. Nuggets, Timberwolves. I watched the first half of that. Nuggets look like they're gonna run away with it. Timberwolves. I know. They had like a great little pre game ceremony. Everyone's celebrating, you know, Ant making like these crazy, you know, half court, three point shots. They look like shit. And then all of a sudden, things switch after halftime and they just dominated. Ant is my favorite player of the NBA right now. He's just really exciting. He really should be taking the mantle of being like one of the best, if not the best player. I think he's the most explosive guy. But for them to kind of punch the Nuggets right in the mouth like that and then talk shit post game afterwards saying they can't guard us. They're not good defenders.
This is like a Western Conference finals matchup. Man, I'm digging this for a first round.
[00:11:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, if you remember that they played in the Western Conference finals.
[00:11:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:35] Speaker B: Yes. Two years ago. Yeah, yeah. That was when the Nuggets went on and won the championship.
Well, two things here. So number one, there's a lot of people out there that have a conspiracy theory that Ant is really Michael Jordan's son.
[00:11:53] Speaker A: I believe it, man. He looks like him.
[00:11:56] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't. People think that he looks like him and he plays like him.
[00:11:59] Speaker C: So I don't know.
[00:11:59] Speaker B: Take that for what it's worth, but
[00:12:02] Speaker A: kind of talks like him, just a little more hood.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. So this game is in Minnesota, you know, Thursday night. So we do have odds. So we can talk about this game and my feelings on it. Maybe it'll help people bet the game.
[00:12:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: But obviously they split the two games in Denver.
The first game went under, the second game went over. I was on the over in the second game and that snuck over late.
[00:12:24] Speaker C: Denver.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: So Denver, man, they play to the over. Rome. They really do. They're 53 and 31 to the over this year. Like, if you just bet on. If you bet two, win 100 bucks on the over. Every Nuggets game this year, you. You made a lot of money.
[00:12:39] Speaker C: You cash like 70 of your tickets.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: So, you know, this game's in Minnesota, though, so it might be a little bit different of a dynamic because we're not dealing with the elevation and the altitude, which I think is a reason why a lot of games go over there, because opponents come in, they're not used to that altitude, and they get tired, the legs get tired and then
[00:12:56] Speaker C: you're able to score on them.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: Right, so.
But Denver's still laying two and a
[00:13:00] Speaker C: half here in Minnesota and I don't
[00:13:04] Speaker B: know, I would probably lean Minnesota, to
[00:13:05] Speaker C: be honest with you. They just looked really good in the last.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: It looks like they figured a lot of things out.
[00:13:10] Speaker C: Denver, surprisingly, in game two, Denver looked tired. If you remember the fourth quarter.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: Yeah, the fourth quarter. Joker, he kept like putting up his shots and hitting the front of the rim.
[00:13:20] Speaker C: And I think Jamal Murray too.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: They just look like they were the
[00:13:23] Speaker C: tighter team, which they're not supposed to be.
[00:13:24] Speaker B: You have the home court advantage in Mile High, as they call it. You know why?
[00:13:28] Speaker A: No.
[00:13:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
So I don't know. I kind of like Minnesota here, to be honest with you. You have any thoughts on this game?
[00:13:36] Speaker A: No, I actually agree with you. I think Gobert kind of took, you know, some like, bulletin material by him finishing, what, fourth or fifth in the, in the defensive player of the year voting when he still believes he should at least be like a top three kind of guy. And he made a comment like that too, but he was locked down. Defense. Minnesota just has a lot of big guys. They also got Cat. Right. They got ant. They're very long, athletic. They can stretch the floor on both sides, defense and on offense. So this is, I'm a big Timberwolves team and they were talking about like flipping the switch in the playoffs because they, they were really hot and cold in the regular season. Typically, like you only see that for like a championship winning team. This team has been talking like a championship team. They just haven't done it yet. But if there's like a dark horse in this playoffs that could possibly win it. I like the Timberwolves. I like them. They're really deep and I like their coach as well.
[00:14:25] Speaker B: Yeah, but. Yeah, Julius Randall, Nas Reed very long.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: I'm sorry, I meant Randall, not Cat.
[00:14:32] Speaker B: Yeah, well, Cat came from Minnesota.
[00:14:34] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, but.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: But yeah, no, like the Timberwolves there. So as far as the other two game. There's two other games on Thursday evening. We have Cleveland at Toronto, this time
[00:14:43] Speaker C: north of the border.
[00:14:45] Speaker B: And obviously Toronto is down two games to nothing. So they really need to win this game here at home.
Toronto's an under team.
[00:14:53] Speaker C: They're a big time under team. They're 34 overs and 50 unders on the season.
[00:14:59] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:15:00] Speaker B: But Cleveland, I don't know, man. So the lines, Cleveland -2 and a half, still here in Toronto. They're still favored even though, you know,
[00:15:06] Speaker C: they're north of the border,
[00:15:09] Speaker B: the head to heads, obviously. I just said Cleveland has won the first two in the series, but going
[00:15:13] Speaker C: back to the regular season, Toronto actually, let me see here. They. That was 25, 20. Okay. So they played each other three times the regular season, and Toronto swept them. Surprisingly, they won all three games.
It looks like all three of them,
[00:15:33] Speaker A: though, were before the Harden trade, I think.
[00:15:37] Speaker B: Yeah, before the Harden acquisition for Cleveland. But still, though, it's kind of hard to believe they actually, even though they're both in the east, they. All three of those games were in 2020. It was. They played on Halloween and they. Or 13th, and then they played November 24th and they haven't. Yeah, they haven't played since then. That's surprising for the east, right?
[00:15:57] Speaker A: That's crazy. Yeah.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: But I don't know. I'd probably leave raptors here. It's plus two and a half if you want to take the two and a half.
[00:16:03] Speaker C: If you take the money line, you get plus 130. So 100 bucks would win you 130, I think. Scotty Barnes and Company.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: I like the.
[00:16:10] Speaker C: The Raptors head coach, too.
It's hard for me to pronounce his name. It's some crazy Russian name,
[00:16:17] Speaker B: but he's a really good head coach. I like Brandon Ingram. I like Scotty Barnes.
I think Toronto probably wins this game.
[00:16:25] Speaker A: I like them to take one.
I still think it might be like five or six games. I'm leaning on the five games. I wasn't really sure how Cleveland was going to show up in this playoffs because they're kind of like fool's gold. Like the last two runs, they look like a potential championship contender last year, and then they kind of like shat the bed this year. But Cav has a good coach. They got some good talent. So, yeah, Toronto taking the game Thursday night.
I'm definitely with you on that.
[00:16:51] Speaker B: Yeah. So there's one more game tomorrow night on Thursday. That'll be the Knicks at the Hawks this time.
[00:16:59] Speaker C: So The Knicks were 55 and 30. The Hawks were 47 and 37. Getting rid of Trey Young, sending him to Washington was probably the best thing the Atlanta Hawks ever did, because once
[00:17:11] Speaker B: they did that, they. They turned on. They put their foot on the pedal, man, and they, they were really, really good. I. I forget the record after they got rid of Trey Young, but they
[00:17:19] Speaker C: won like 80% of their games or something like that.
[00:17:22] Speaker B: They came, you know, they were hot
[00:17:23] Speaker C: down the fresh, and they, you know, they were able to split here in New York. So yeah, the totals 216.
The line is the Knicks minus one and a half.
[00:17:35] Speaker B: I don't know about that, man.
[00:17:36] Speaker C: I kind of like Atlanta a lot here.
The Knicks on the road this year were. They were okay. They were 22 and 19 but Atlanta was 24 and 17 at home.
[00:17:47] Speaker B: The head to heads.
[00:17:48] Speaker C: So going back to.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: They played each other.
[00:17:53] Speaker C: Oh wait, this is the playoffs. So they played 1, 2, 3.
[00:17:57] Speaker B: They played three times this year and
[00:18:00] Speaker C: the Knicks took two, the Hawks took one. That was during the regular season.
[00:18:06] Speaker B: And yeah, I don't know, I'm kind
[00:18:08] Speaker C: of feeling Atlanta here. They're one and a half point dog minus 105 on the money line.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: That's a pick them.
Yeah, probably like I'm not really sure about this one.
I. I think I'm leaning the Hawks with you as well for Thursday night.
They just seem like to they delivered quite the punch in that final fourth quarter. I was watching that because I was driving on the road and and Knicks just blew that. Outside of Kat, you know no one on on Atlanta can guard Kat but it's a matter of put him in position to dominate. And I have questions about the New York Knicks head coach just from his experience. The Lakers and the Cavs Hawks just match up really athletically well. And you're right, since they traded Young they've been sharing the ball. It's not like a me me team. Right. They're playing a lot of ISO ball with Young and. And they were able to get a little more cohesive with him gone. It's all about the chemistry addition by subtraction. So Hawks are going to give him fits. I still like this to game be a six game series.
I think Atlanta takes this one and then the Knicks take out the last three.
[00:19:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
As it relates to the money.
So New York's taking a lot of action. It's according to one service that I follow here called OddsLogic. It's an OddsBoard.
[00:19:28] Speaker C: It's actually 300 bucks if you want to like a month if you want to subscribe to it.
[00:19:32] Speaker B: Luckily for me, I mean I'm in the industry so I get it for free.
[00:19:34] Speaker C: Luckily.
[00:19:35] Speaker B: But.
[00:19:37] Speaker C: So New York is taking 94 of the money. They're taking 59 of the tickets but 94 of the money. That's a lot of money being putting on the New York mix. A lot of people think the Knicks
[00:19:48] Speaker B: are going to win Cleveland and Toronto. So Cleveland is 75 of the tickets
[00:19:54] Speaker C: on Cleveland, 79 of the money on Cleveland, 61 of the tickets on Denver, 91 of the money on Denver. So a lot of people think the Nuggets are going to do well and the Knicks are going to do well, which I am not. I'm not part of that. I'm part of the other way.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: The thing with these consistence polls though, Rome, you don't really know how much you believe them because it's just one
[00:20:17] Speaker C: outlet reporting or like maybe one book and like, maybe like South Point's taking all that action. But what about like circa? What about mgm? What about Caesars? There's other books taking different action.
[00:20:27] Speaker B: It might be completely the other way
[00:20:29] Speaker C: in a different book. So.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:30] Speaker B: So it's hard to tell whether these consensus polls are correct. There's a bunch of them. Beeson has one. Wager Talk has one. Oz Logic is the one I use. I look at Beeson sometimes too. Action Network has one. Covers has one.
[00:20:43] Speaker C: But it's like I could probably go to covers right now. It'll tell me something different. So it's. I don't know, it's. You tread lightly when you look at public percentages and consensus.
But yeah, that's the three games for tomorrow. You want to look at some hockey?
[00:20:57] Speaker A: Let's do it real quick though. Did you mention who you got in this Pistons Magic? You like this?
You like the Magic upsetting? It sound like you're leaning towards an upset for the series.
[00:21:08] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I'm taking the points for tonight's game for game two.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: In.
[00:21:13] Speaker C: In Detroit,
[00:21:16] Speaker B: I'm taking the eight and a half points.
I wouldn't be surprised at the Magic win. That'd be crazy though, if an eight seed upset at the one seed in first round.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: It's been a while.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know. I can see. Maybe it goes seven games and maybe the Pistons win in seven. Maybe it was the wake up call you were talking about.
So I don't know. I mean, tonight's game will tell you
[00:21:37] Speaker C: pretty much almost everything you want to know, right?
[00:21:39] Speaker A: Yeah. How do they respond?
[00:21:42] Speaker B: So, hey, just FYI, I'm on 10 of battery left. We started at 20, so I probably got about another maybe 15 minutes of life here before.
So.
Yeah. So looking at the National Hockey League,
[00:21:54] Speaker C: we'll look at Thursday's games because obviously that's when people are going to be watching this podcast.
So we have the Buffalo Sabers going to the Bruins. So obviously the Sabers, they won game one and it was a miracle comeback. For those of you that watch hockey. They were down two goals.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: Yeah, they were down two goals in the third period and they came back
[00:22:13] Speaker C: and scored three goals and won the game like in the last 13 minutes of the games and that and the Savers had not made the playoffs since 2011.
They haven't been in the playoffs in 14 years.
[00:22:23] Speaker A: It's been a long time.
[00:22:24] Speaker B: Guess it's longer than that.
[00:22:25] Speaker C: I guess it's 15 or whatever it is, so. And I kind of knew in game two they were going to have a letdown, which they did because that game one win was so big and they
[00:22:34] Speaker B: let down or two in game two. So now the series shifts to Boston.
The Savers were really good on the road.
[00:22:43] Speaker C: They were 24, 13 and 4 on the road, but Boston was really good at home. 29, 11 and 1.
We have a flip, a coin flip game here. It's minus 110 each way. So the books are telling you we have no idea who's gonna win this game basically.
And the total sitting at six.
Game two finished at 16. One went over the total, it was four to three and the total was six and a half actually the total was six and a half in both games actually. I guess if you had the under last night, it finished 4 to 2. So you won.
[00:23:09] Speaker B: But the, the under was juice though.
[00:23:11] Speaker C: It was like minus 135. I did a free play on the under six yesterday and I gave out six because the six was minus 110. I didn't want to give out an under six and a half at minus 145 just because it's a lot of juice.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: Anyway, as far as I. I don't
[00:23:25] Speaker C: know, I probably roll with Buffalo in this game to be honest with you. Buffalo was hands down the better team just overall team this year. But Boston's tough at home so this game is a little bit scary for me.
But I probably rolled Buffalo as it relates to. What else do we have?
[00:23:41] Speaker B: We have Carolina and Ottawa. So Carolina is now up two games to none in the series. A very exciting double overtime game in
[00:23:50] Speaker C: game two that Carolina finally won.
[00:23:52] Speaker B: Carolina, yeah, they're the better team.
Yeah, this the head to heads between the two teams. So yeah, Carolina's actually. The last 10 times Carolina has faced Ottawa they've beat him seven times.
[00:24:07] Speaker C: They're seven and three. The last 10 head to head.
Carolina on the road 2412 and five. Ottawa 2312 and six at home.
[00:24:16] Speaker B: I don't know, I kind of think Ottawa maybe still aim Just kind of going off my gut I could see him winning this game. I mean they had chances to win that double Overtime game, a few really good chances and they got stuffed. But I think Ottawa comes out and they do well in this game. So I would probably roll with the Senators over the Hurricanes in game three.
Finishing up. We'll go to Colorado and la. The LA Kings who almost won, man,
[00:24:40] Speaker C: they sent that game to overtime last night.
[00:24:41] Speaker B: I don't know if you got a
[00:24:42] Speaker C: chance to watch that game.
[00:24:43] Speaker A: That's the only game I did not catch.
[00:24:45] Speaker B: Okay, so Colorado laying 160 on the road. Kings are plus 135 at home. The Kings, I don't know what it is, man. I'm from la.
[00:24:53] Speaker C: I'm a, you know, Kings fan.
And they cannot play at home. They can't win games at home. For like two or three years it's been like this. They're 15, 17 and nine at home this year.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: It's rough. Rough.
[00:25:05] Speaker C: They were.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: They're great on the road. They're 2011 and 12 at Colorado, by
[00:25:09] Speaker C: far and away the best team in the NHL. They have the most points of any team in the NHL.
They are 29, 75 away and they almost lost game two. I think that was kind of a wake up call and I'd probably take Colorado to actually win this game by a lot.
[00:25:26] Speaker B: And I, I know they're up two games to none.
[00:25:27] Speaker C: So if the Kings don't win this game, the series is probably over.
[00:25:30] Speaker B: Yeah, but I think, I think Colorado lays the hammer and I would probably go Avalanche on the puck line. What does that mean for people that don't know I'm going to lay one and a half goals, meaning the Avalanche
[00:25:43] Speaker C: have to win this game by two goals or more.
[00:25:45] Speaker B: But you get plus 165 on that.
[00:25:48] Speaker C: So if you put down 100 bucks, if you bet 100, you return to, you get two, you basically get 365 back. You get your 100 back and. Or, sorry, you get 265.
[00:25:59] Speaker B: So you put 100 bucks down, you
[00:26:00] Speaker C: get your hunter back plus another 165
[00:26:02] Speaker B: bucks, you get 205 bucks back. So that's what we call plus money. And I think Colorado probably takes it to the LA Kings tomorrow night. You have any thoughts on any of the hockey games? I know you're not a big hockey guy, you know.
[00:26:14] Speaker A: Well, you know, I'm a Red Wings guy. So. They haven't been in the playoffs very often lately, so I've been watching less.
But it was exciting to see the Kings make it. I know they got some guys that are retiring at the end of this year. Some Some legends of the game. I'm surprised though. Five and a half is what I have for the over under and it's been way under for the first two games. You think this ends up being like a shootout in La La Land?
[00:26:37] Speaker B: You know, I could probably see it staying under, but I could see the. I could see being like 4 to 1 Colorado or 3 to 1 in Colorado.
I have been on the under in
[00:26:47] Speaker C: both those games and it won. Obviously both games don't wait.
[00:26:52] Speaker B: I probably would not take the over in any game in the series, to be honest with you. Yeah, that's why they're setting it at five and a half. They know it's going to be lower scoring.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: Yeah, a lot of defense.
What game did I catch the other day that really caught my attention. Costa in the pit in Philly. Have yet to see Edmonton and Anaheim.
[00:27:12] Speaker B: Yeah, that's an exciting series.
[00:27:14] Speaker C: Really exciting.
[00:27:15] Speaker A: I heard game one was pretty exciting, so I'm hope. Oh, game two is tonight.
So you know what, I'll probably be able to catch that.
[00:27:24] Speaker B: Yeah, well, the total set of seven is. I mean, it's rare that bookie set NHL totals, especially in the playoffs, at
[00:27:31] Speaker C: seven, which means they think there's going to be a lot of scoring. I think there's going to be a lot of scoring too. I. I just released a free play on another video before I came on here.
[00:27:39] Speaker B: Over seven goals.
[00:27:40] Speaker C: This is for Wednesday night's game, which obviously people, you know, they could see the result. Hopefully I won at the time.
[00:27:45] Speaker B: They're watching this podcast, I'm sure, but yeah, I think it's going to be a lot of scoring. I mean, these teams played each other three times in the regular season and the total was seven each game. And it went. It was like the first time was five to four and the second time was like seven to four. So they just played to the over both these teams and the game one actually in the playoffs that finished right at seven is four to three. But I think this one's going to be a shootout.
[00:28:11] Speaker C: I think it's going to be like a 5, 4, 6, 5 type of game. Just goals galore. So it'll be pretty exciting real quick.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: I'm kind of surprised. Phillies up 20 against Pittsburgh. Are you?
[00:28:21] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. 100% okay. Pittsburgh was. Yeah, they had home ice advantage and they it away like they. Yeah, they gave up, you know. Well, they only gave up three goals each game, but they got shut out, man. They lost game one at home. And then how you got to turn around. I Thought they were gonna smack game two. I for sure I had the puck line, I had Pittsburgh everything and they got shut out. Game two.
[00:28:42] Speaker C: After they lost game one, I couldn't
[00:28:43] Speaker A: believe it for the series.
[00:28:46] Speaker B: Yeah, I like Pittsburgh tonight. I think they bounced back and they went on the road. I think this is one of those weird series and it happens in hockey sometimes where the road team like gets every game.
[00:28:55] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:28:58] Speaker A: Well, I hope so. Till the end. Till game.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: You want to hit some baseball real quick?
[00:29:03] Speaker A: Let's do it.
Yeah, real quick.
I'm trying to catch. I just, I haven't been watching the schedule. I just realized the Dodgers are in town here in the bay to face the Giants. So I'm gonna try to catch tomorrow's day game. I know Atani, he's gonna be pitching tonight. But Dodgers have been on fire a recent three game losing streak.
Giants a lot of people being really hypercritical of their manager, coming straight from college. I think give the guy a chance.
I think he's there for the long run to kind of toughen up this team and a young season. But it's been really interesting so far.
[00:29:39] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. You know, it's. They've lost three of their last four. They actually won the last game in Colorado, so. They have lost three of their last four.
[00:29:49] Speaker C: The Dodgers have. But it's funny, they lost three of their last four. Rome and they're still 14 and 4 on the season.
[00:29:54] Speaker A: That's crazy.
[00:29:56] Speaker B: That's crazy. That's, that's how good are.
And they're, they're actually making people money too. Like the thing with the Dodgers is you're always laying -200, -250, -300 if they're playing a crappy team.
Right? Yeah. Like I'm looking at the Colorado odds. When they played the Rockies, they were minus 291 game and they lost.
They were minus 290 and they lost. Then they were minus 205 and they lost.
So like if you're out there with your bankroll laying 290 bucks to win a hundred, that's not very good for your bankroll. It's not very advisable. No, but the Dodgers are still in the, they're in the positive.
[00:30:31] Speaker C: Call them for money.
[00:30:31] Speaker B: Like if you would bet on them
[00:30:32] Speaker C: to win 100 bucks all season long, you're still plus money. You're plus 287. The Giants, you're down $466. If you bet on them every win 100 bucks, you, you're down 466 bucks.
[00:30:46] Speaker B: That's going to happen.
[00:30:46] Speaker C: When you're 7 and 12 on the season, it's not very good. Which of the Giants are.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: Yeah, the Tony Botello thing coming over
[00:30:53] Speaker C: from Tennessee, you know, college baseball. Tennessee, Yeah.
[00:30:58] Speaker B: I mean there was a lot of eyebrows raised because of that.
[00:31:02] Speaker C: I kind of like the move, to be honest with you. It's a good college baseball coach.
[00:31:05] Speaker B: It's just never happened before. That's kind of why, like, you know,
[00:31:07] Speaker C: all the baseball writers are like, oh, what's this? How dare they do something like that.
[00:31:11] Speaker A: Well, it's the old guys club, you know. Yeah. He didn't pay his dues and.
[00:31:16] Speaker B: Yeah, in the minor. Yeah, exactly.
But yeah, I mean, time will tell. Still, early in the season I was kind of high on the Giants, to be honest with you. I mean I, I, they got some guys that can hit the ball. Their pitching staff is decent. They have some guys that can pitch.
[00:31:29] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:31:31] Speaker B: But yeah, I have no idea what the line is going to be in this game. And we on Thursday we have Glass now it's supposed to be glass now pitching against, I think Webb. Look, yeah, Logan, Logan was a great pitcher, man, he's really good. I mean on the season this year he Is. He's pitched 30 innings.
His ERA is actually not that good. It's 540 and his WHIP is 140. So he's at a slow start of the season.
[00:31:55] Speaker C: But traditionally he's a pretty good pitcher. If you remember, he started for Team USA in March, you know, during the Baseball World Baseball Classic.
[00:32:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:04] Speaker B: And he's been an All Star many times over too. So it is a good pitcher. And he'll probably actually come out and
[00:32:10] Speaker C: have a good game.
[00:32:11] Speaker B: You know, he'll be up to face the Dodgers and you know, glass and I'll probably be up to face the Giants. It's a divisional rivalry and yeah, but you got to figure the Dodgers are probably going to be laying.
[00:32:21] Speaker C: If I had to guess right now,
[00:32:22] Speaker B: they're probably going to be land 200 maybe minus 1.
[00:32:24] Speaker C: 180 in this game. Something like that.
And the over under is probably, if I had to guess, being on the bay there in San Francisco, it's always a little bit less. I'd probably say it's seven and a half over under on Thursday evening.
It'd be kind of interesting when these lines come out to see how close I was. So I'm gonna say Dodgers minus 180
[00:32:44] Speaker B: total seven and a half. And we'll see how accurate I am as a bookmaker. Right. Supposed to be able to nail these, see if I'm right.
So that.
[00:32:54] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:32:55] Speaker B: That's kind of your Dodgers and Giants
[00:32:58] Speaker A: thoughts, you know, Surprising.
Go ahead.
[00:33:03] Speaker B: Yeah. I was just gonna ask you, did you. Obviously the super bowl was in San Francisco. And I know, I know you probably didn't go to the game, but how is the atmosphere in the city? I know it's all the way down there in Santa Clara, but was there a buzz in the city for the
[00:33:15] Speaker C: super bowl this year?
[00:33:17] Speaker A: It was such a big buzz, man. It was so busy, so packed. It created like a lot of mayhem because they kind of blocked off like the middle of the city for like the convention center. And, and it was so funny. They had like a. What they call it when they have like a whole bunch of police cars escorting you from one thing to other.
[00:33:33] Speaker B: A brigade.
[00:33:34] Speaker A: Yeah. They basically every time you saw like 10 shuttles, that was the NFL, whole bunch of, you know, CHP and like sheriffs from like all the different local municipalities.
Because Santa Clara is 10 minutes outside of San Jose, which is a pretty big city. It's a sleepy city, but pretty big city. I don't know why they couldn't do stuff there, but they want the glitz and glamour of having the word San Francisco. But I saw some, some celebrities. I did check down some of the events leading up to the Super Bowl. I wanted to go to super bowl, but honestly, I have not talked about the Super Bowl.
I was a stinker. I. I started getting pretty drunk in the, in the third quarter. I'm like, this is done.
[00:34:16] Speaker B: So, yeah, it was a boring game. It was super boring.
But yeah. Anyway, so I just wanted to get
[00:34:25] Speaker C: your feedback on that. But back to baseball here.
[00:34:29] Speaker B: Yeah, but back to baseball.
So, yeah, just take a look at the stance of the Dodgers. Actually. The Padres are kind of playing under the radar. The Padres have the same record as the Dodgers here.
[00:34:42] Speaker A: They're tied up top.
[00:34:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:45] Speaker A: Come back to earth. And you know what's surprising here? The Central, everyone's above 500. That's. That's a dog eat dog world right there.
[00:34:54] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, baseball, it's. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Obviously. It's 162 game season, so it's, it can be tiring for both the players and the fans.
[00:35:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: With me, my summers are actually busy.
[00:35:07] Speaker C: Rome, I'm, you know, I handicap baseball. I do the NBA all the way through the NBA Finals, obviously. I do the Stanley cup all the way through, you know, Stanley Cup Final.
[00:35:16] Speaker B: Then I do. I handicap wnba, believe it or not.
[00:35:18] Speaker C: You can make money on women's basketball. That's. You can bet those games. And there's a lot of value to it, to be honest with you.
I. I do the CFO handicap Canadian football and I did really, really good last year. And then I do UFC too. So I mean people.
[00:35:34] Speaker B: Oh, and I'm doing World Cup, World cup this year. So World Cup's right around the Cup. Gonna be a really, really busy summer for me. A lot of these handicappers, they take the summer off, but not me. A sniper. Almost like. It's almost.
[00:35:51] Speaker A: I dig it, man. Hey, you want to plug your handles real quick so people can find your picks and clips and all that good stuff?
[00:35:59] Speaker B: Yeah, brother. So you can find me over on Twitter at the Sniper picks and you can get all my premium selections over on Winnable. That's W I N as in Nancy I b l e winnable.com.
[00:36:13] Speaker C: i'm. I'm at a bunch of different websites too. If you just Google Sniper west, you'll find me all over the Internet. I'm on different sites and sell my stuff. But Winnable, I get a bigger split. I get 85 of the the sale. So if you can buy it from there, that would be the way to go.
[00:36:26] Speaker A: God damn, that's awesome.
Beautiful, man. I'd like to dig in more. We'll have to get Aaron and Jason on here. Jason's a big White Sox guy. Aaron's a big Braves guy, but they're big nl. Especially Aaron. Baseball betting is really big for him, so.
[00:36:43] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:36:43] Speaker A: Had to get you guys together.
Any anything else to plug in before you tap off?
[00:36:49] Speaker B: Not really, man. I'm just sitting here busy. This is literally Today my like 8th show that I've done.
Like, well, I do. So I do the Wizards wraparound at night. I'm in Vegas, by the way, so I'm saying Pacific time. So I start at 9:30. I have a live show till 10.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:07] Speaker B: Then I do. Or no, I'm sorry. I do a show from 9am to 9:15, then 9:30 to 10 I'm live.
Then 10:15 to like noon. I did five videos with Allie Burns over, pick some parlays and then. Yeah, so this is like my sixth or seventh. I've lost track by now. And then I have an hour long show tonight. It's over on Wizardsportspics.com if you want to check out that YouTube channel.
[00:37:28] Speaker C: Wizards Sports Picks. We're going on with Ron Ace, who is a professional football handicapper. We are talking NFL draft because the NFL draft is tomorrow night.
[00:37:38] Speaker B: It's tomorrow.
[00:37:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:39] Speaker B: And you can't bet on the NFL draft. I don't know that we're necessarily going to be wagering on it, but we're just going to give our thoughts about who's, you know, what players should go to, what team.
Ronnie's. He. He's probably next to Mel Kuyper Jr. He's like the NFL draft expert out there in the field.
[00:37:54] Speaker C: So.
[00:37:54] Speaker B: Wizardsportspix.com you can check out that YouTube channel.
[00:37:57] Speaker C: We'll be live tonight at 6:00pm Eastern Standard Time.
[00:38:00] Speaker B: Oh, actually, no, I'm sorry, that's Wednesday.
[00:38:02] Speaker C: So they're not going to be able to see that because it's all good.
[00:38:04] Speaker B: But they can watch the. They can watch the recap.
[00:38:06] Speaker A: They can watch the recap. Yeah.
Well, beautiful, man. Thank you so much for getting on the pod real quick. Talking a little basketball, baseball, hockey. We'll get you back on.
Get a little.
Do you remember doing the lines with us?
Yeah, Apple season.
[00:38:20] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a great show. It's just hard for me to do. I know you guys always shoot late at night. It's hard for me to shoot late at night.
[00:38:25] Speaker A: But, yeah, it was a. It was a tight contest. I was running away with it and I had like three bad weeks where I was like 3 and 16.
Yeah, it was rough. And then I was on fire in the. In the final two or three weeks and Jason won by one game.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:38:44] Speaker A: Wow. And we were all one game apart. Like, that's how even it was. Even though we.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. You know. You know, I met you originally at Contest week for Circa and you know, they do the competitions like the Pick five each week. I do really well in those. I. I did a. It wasn't at Circa, but I did a pick five contests, just a private
[00:39:03] Speaker C: one last year between like 35 different handicappers that came in second place.
I think I hit like 63%.
[00:39:11] Speaker A: I might do that this year.
[00:39:12] Speaker B: The actual contest. Contest, like Circa.
[00:39:15] Speaker A: The Pick five. Yeah.
With Circa. Yeah.
[00:39:18] Speaker C: All right, cool.
[00:39:19] Speaker A: I did one with. It was on Splash sports, I think.
[00:39:23] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Splash.
About Splash sports, though. I got invited to a couple of those. They don't.
[00:39:29] Speaker C: It's not legal in Nevada.
[00:39:30] Speaker B: You can't access flash sports in Nevada. So I got screwed.
[00:39:33] Speaker C: I couldn't do it.
[00:39:34] Speaker A: It's crazy because they got people from Nevada that started it.
[00:39:38] Speaker B: Well, what's funny, man? It's like all these regular sites like DraftKings, FanDuel. We can't get them in Nevada because they want you betting at their sports books. You know what I mean? They don't want you betting outside of Nevada, you know, casinos or whatever.
So I guess there's pros and cons. I mean, I love living in Vegas, don't get me wrong. But.
[00:39:57] Speaker C: Yeah, just little things like that that can become irritant. Like Underdog, you know Underdog, the fantasy site.
[00:40:03] Speaker B: I can't do any of that here, dude. They, they block, they, the IP blocks you. I mean, I guess you can get a VPN if you really want to do that kind of.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: I've done VPNs for like, I tried doing that stuff, but I'm in California, man, and, and eventually it'll just like, it gets messed up and I'm just.
[00:40:19] Speaker B: The problem is if you use a VPN and then they find out that you're doing that, they can like, let's say you're up a bunch of money, they can legally not pay you the money.
[00:40:27] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
[00:40:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Why am I going to waste all my time with that shit? I'd rather.
[00:40:33] Speaker A: I, I think splash sports is technically legal in California somehow, some way. I think it's because it's technically like a, like, like a gaming website, not a betting website.
[00:40:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, well, California, there's No draftings or FanDuel yet, but I mean, you can go offshore, you can do bet online, you can do bobada, all that.
And, and I think, yeah, like Underdog, all that stuff in California. But yeah, I don't know why California,
[00:40:58] Speaker C: California's so dumb, man. I'm from there originally. I'm from la, you know that.
[00:41:02] Speaker B: But it's so dumb, man, that like, for years and years they could have legalized marijuana and helped their, their, their deficit and their debt, you know, with all that marijuana money coming in and it took. They were like last of the party, like one of the last states to legalize marijuana.
[00:41:17] Speaker C: And now they're doing the same thing with gambling. They don't realize how much money they can make by just legalizing DraftKings. Let people gamble, man. You take some juice from the casino, cut it toward your dad, or put it toward the infrastructure, the homeless or something, man, California is just so dumb.
[00:41:32] Speaker B: It really is.
[00:41:33] Speaker A: I don't know why. It's kind of frustrating.
I'm hoping we can probably do some stuff with splash Sports later on the year.
[00:41:40] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure.
[00:41:42] Speaker B: Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, maybe I can give you all my picks and you can put them in.
[00:41:47] Speaker A: That'd be cool.
We'll give you a good cut.
[00:41:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: All right, cool. Thanks so much for joining us. We'll. Look, we'll have the rest of the guys on next time as well, so thanks a lot.
[00:41:59] Speaker C: Cool. Yeah, cool.
[00:42:00] Speaker B: Rome, always a pleasure, man. And, yeah, anytime. We'll try to work. Try to work something out. Maybe we can do something once a week or something. We'll figure out a schedule or something.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: That'll be cool. Thanks so much.
All right. Peace out.
